A great neighborhood place right on the water. Chicken wings are excellent with several choices from traditional buffalo sauce to jerk and many others. They were a good size with crisp thin skin; they're a great on 50 cent wing night. The place has been completely redone inside and there's a gravel parking lot across the street. There's a covered outdoor area that will be great in warmer weather. Staff is great too!
Casual atmosphere inside with plenty of outdoor seating as well. Good fish fry. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. It looked understaffed for the crowd during our visit.
The people are fantastic and so friendly. Awesome environment very modern and inviting. Those of you who follow me know I don't give out five stars often. However that being said what threw me over the edge was the food. Being in Buffalo New York you need to know how to make a chicken wing, and let me tell you the chef behind the pass, Andrew he can cook!! No exaggeration the best chicken wings I've ever eaten!! And Allison the bartender, such a sweetheart. Willing to go above and beyond to make your experience great!! If you are visiting the Lockport area and you're looking for a really good taste of Buffalo and what we're all about I highly highly recommend this establishment. Well done!!
Went out to watch the Thursday night Bills game and seen an ad for 25 cent wings and free touchdown shots. We called ahead to reserve a table and asked to please be seated by a TV, they placed us in the perfect spot. Our waitress Lindsey, was absolutely the best. She was quick to the table all night despite how busy they were. Excellent service and food. 10/10 would recommend. Will definitely be back!
Great cozy place , great staff , food was delicious , prices are perfect
Ate there tonight with my son and my husband and everything was amazing! Our waitress was Lisa and she was very very very nice. The atmosphere is so comfortable and cozy and the food was so good. The mac & cheese was really good along with the stuffed peppers and clams casino. I will definitely tell friends about this place as I am in the business also. Great job, keep up the great work and we will see you again very soon!!😊😊
Came in for dinner for the soft open we saw on FB. Our server was Stephanie. She was attentive and friendly. Lots of updates on the inside, everything looks great! The manager came over to clear our plates and ask how we enjoyed the meal and filled us in on the future plans. The food was very good, I never had friend green tomatoes but they were delicious. We plan to come back in a few weeks for the grand opening. Keep up the good work!
As a family of seven, 5 young children and 2 adults, going out to dinner is a sacrifice. The service was amazing! The waitress was so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. I got a burger 🍔 that I can say with all certainty, the best burger I have ever eaten. It had an onion ring, bacon, cheese, jalapenos. So delicious, my wife got a steak and shrimp that almost didn't fit on the plate. The owner came and greeted us as well. Very impressed and will be back!
We had the fish fry and it was delicious! My husband really loved the German potato salad. We spent time outside having cocktails waiting for table and dinner inside. All employees were very enjoyable. I do recommend reservations for Friday if your planning on a fish fry.
The Fish Fry is the best fish in the area. We order take out, and the fish is still crispy when we get it home, not soggy like every other place we have ordered from. The Cajun fries and chips are very good also. The Cole Slaw could use a bit more dressing. The Servers there are super helpful and friendly as well.
My wife and daughter, from out of town, just had three excellent fish dinners. Our waitress, Jesscica, was so nice and we can't say enough on how well she served us.
Love everything about the Ship except the two picnic tables in the room with the music. For people with back issues it’s it really hard to sit and watch the band. Just a thought try turning the picnic table the other way so you face the band and not the door or try 4 smaller tables of 4. Then you can separate them out or put them together for larger group. It’s not easy for ladies to straddle the bench. Just a thought. Great food too
Had a great lunch at The Ship today. We went to go eat at Uncle G's but they have stopped serving food. So we went to The Ship that was nearby. My wife had the Pulled Pork sliders. There were two huge sliders and the were very good. My brother liked his burger. We sat outside on the patio and the service was great
A great place to stop while on the road. We tried their Signature sandwich and it was awesome. Looks like a great place to stop while out snowmobiling.
Wings and Beef on Weck were excellent. We happened on a live music night without realizing and it was loud throughout. Not there fault. If that's not your scene, make sure you check the website before going 😁
The Ship Bar and Grill is right on Tonnawanda Creek. It's an enjoyable view while relaxing for your order. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We had the smash burgers and were very pleased. They also have fresh homemade potato chips. Yum! It's definitely a go-to destination. Do yourself a favor and take a moment to enjoy a nice experience.
I went for 50 cent wings on Friday. The wings were great! I tried the garlic parm, Kentucky bourbon bbq and Carolina gold with a side of fried ravioli!! Everything was so tasty. The wait staff was attentive and it's a cool place to play darts, pool and watch a game or 2 on their big screen TV's. I definitely recommend!
Initially, my daughter and I wanted to have lunch at Uncle g's across the street, but their kitchen was closed for the season. So, we went to the Ship and very glad that we did because it was wonderful! Friendly staff, tasty food, and outdoor seating with the view of the canal created a very relaxing, lazy, have-a-beer summer afternoon vibe. The live music band was a cherry on top. While my daughter had a Cesar salad, I had a Mahi burger with spicy mayo. It sure hit the spot. Afterward, we went for a stroll along the canal while singing along with the band. We have discovered another 💎
I was there a couple years ago for live music and again recently. What a BEAUTIFUL transformation! Updates include, Trivia and Karaoke Nights, Food Specials, Handicap Accessibility, a beautiful hand painted mural, new tables chairs, floor & more Live Music! 🥂 Wow! Tastefully done! I'm beyond impressed! Definitely Kimmy-Sue tested and APPROVED 💋🇺🇲
Our first visit to this hot spot of the neighborhood! A nearly full house with slim pickin' parking left. However, a short stay at the bar and we were being seated! Plenty of friendly staff with quick delivery of drinks, starters, meals, and desert. Our server, Emely, was a sport; friendly and witty. She definitely brought delight to our memorable visit. Great Job! The food was VERY good! Although inside dining is nautically spacious, it seriously needs sound dampening. Highly recommend reservations for the waterfront outdoor dining with live music. Bravo to the new owner! The House Salad is a delicious blend and perfect appetizer size. The Bourbon Chicken is a sauteed airline breast ("Originally, airline chicken breasts were served on airplanes because the meat could be consumed by simply holding onto the drumette and eating it that way,"), mashed potatoes whipped to perfection, and perfectly seasoned green beans (in season). The Smothered Pork Chop was Southern fried bone in, deliciously thick and tender, with mashed potatoes and green beans, as well. The Fish Fry was a great beer-battered generous portion of cod, sweet and crunchy, with a slightly spicy peach slaw and fries. All meals were absolutely cooked to perfection and delicious!
Beautiful view of the historic Erie Canal. Easily reachable by car or boat. The food is excellent especially the scallops. We make it a regular stop for dinner. Hometown friendly bar crowd is welcoming as you enter the front door. Inside seating or a beautiful patio when the weather is nice. Large enough for a work gathering or small reception/shower, etc. the staff go out of their way to make sure you have an experience worth coming back for.
My daughter loves the pretzel sticks that they deep fry. Wings are very good. I would personally recommend asking for them to be made extra crispy. Beef on Weck was very good. A nice view from the deck inside and out. Check for events as they offer live bands and trivia. Owner does support U.S. Veterans as a Biker run for vets, were going to be finishing at the restaurant.
I stopped by for a glass of beer. I ordered a draft IPA. Cold and refreshing. Very good service. I like the bar, nicely remodeled. Music a bit loud. Nice seating and televisions. I will try the outdoor seating next time. I would recommend.
Food was good, burgers were a little dry. Beer was cold! Free pool table we enjoyed for a while.
,50 wings day for bills game day. Great atmosphere, met some new people and would definitely go back.
Atmosphere was top notch sitting outside on the creek. Waited for approximately 10 minutes for a hostess to even seat us. The one draft beer I wanted the keg had kicked and there were no other dark porter/stouts on tap. Food was good not as spectacular as I hoped. The fish fry was thin and overbattered. The coleslaw was bland and lacked flavor. We arrived around six were seated right away once a hostess showed up did not get our food till at least 45 minutes to an hour after we placed our order. Overall great atmosphere little overpriced on the food to portion.
They have a lot of bands, everyone is friendly, great Bills vib, wish I lived closer
Food is great and reasonably priced!! BUT- the drinks make up for it.... $9 for a bottle of Blue light and a CAN - yes a CAN of Miller Lite... way to pricy on drinks. But stop for food and order water... love the look of the place and the atmosphere!!
Stopped by with friends for food and music on a Saturday night. Parking was tight. We were in a side area which helped lower the sound so we could talk. Dance floor available which we enjoyed. Waitress was attentive. Food was ok. It was a good time.
Had a good time at the Ship. We went for dinner and dancing. There was enough room to dance, the food was tasty and the service was good. They could schedule more servers on nights when the bands play. Our poor waitress was so stressed. She did a great job, but it was apparent they were short staffed. The Band was great. The meals were good. Homemade chips are delicious, skip the fries, cold and mushy. Wraps are fresh,; beef on weck is good. Going back this Friday. The bands are the draw. Parking lot is dark and the entire entrance and lot could use better lighting. Hard for older people, like myself, to find our way in and out.
The service was great and the atmosphere is great It's more like a pub style restaurant. They have a new chef and now have a limited menu. They do have fish fries and they have a few meal options. They added a wide variety of hamburgers. Unfortunately, if you are not a hamburger person you're out of luck because the appetizer menu is extremely limited. They took the flatbreads off. I did suggest having hot stuffed peppers or cauliflower chicken wings, or something like that. Don't expect anything like that on the appetizer list, very limited. The fish fry is $18. A bit pricey for me. If you don't want a full meal and you want to just go and watch a game have a few appetizers and a drink, the menu is limited. I would suggest the beer project Very disappointed in that because this used to be our o go place Would probably not go back in a while.
*** Edit. This place has it figured out! I have been back a few times since my original review, albeit hesitantly, and last night they got it right! FYI Same band was playing. Service was outstanding, food was good, crowd was great. Online reservations were flawless. Great job stepping it up!! Can't wait to go back. *** Krista Lyn (* doesn't recommend The Ship •) Our 7:30 reservation last night, ended up being after 9:00, even though we reserved the table weeks in advance. Our other friends, called the day prior to request a table next to ours. They arrived at 7:15 & were seated immediately. As it turns out, many people seated themselves, and the staff didn't bother to address the situation. The very young hostesses, kept adding patrons to the waiting list, not realizing that with such a big crowd at that point, people should have been turned away. On top of finally being told we would be next to be seated, the staff carried in a picnic table to allow patrons to sit. When I questioned it, the server said (in a very snotty tone) that the table was brought in for whoever wants to sit there. When we finally did get seated, one of the servers came over to our table and literally threw a handful of drink chips on our table and said "just don't leave a bad review." At that point, two people in our group decided they had enough of the chaos and left before the band. (Not to mention, we are friends with most of the band members) Ok, decent. We got free drinks. However, the $16.00 clams casino which consisted of 2 1/2 clams, were burned and tasted like over salted bread crumbs. I am also pretty sure, that they were overcapacity. I understand that they are "new," but they clearly have a lot of training to do for their staff. Not to mention that they were very ill-prepared for such a large crowd. (Kudos to Welcome Distraction being such a very well-known, extremely talented band) It is highly unlikely that our group of friends, which was very large, will ever return. I am glad Tom & Joanie weren't there, or if they were, I didn't see them, because they definitely would have gotten a few ears full, as there were many people that had the same "mix up" with their reservations. On that note, I tipped our servers very generously, as I used to work in a couple of very busy restaurants, including management positions, so I know exactly what it's like to be on that side of things. They busted their humps to keep up and did it with a smile. That is not easy to do, which was made apparent by flying drink chips. The place looks amazing & has so much potential. Hopefully a lesson has been learned and this won't happen again.
We have heard so much about this place and have always wanted to try it. So, we decided to finally give it a go. Once inside, the lighting is very dim. The restaurant was pretty much empty. We were seated quickly with a friendly hello. One of the menu items were tacos, three different kinds. One person in our party wanted all three different kinds (one of each taco, total of three), the waitress quickly responded and told him 'We don't do that here'. He was willing to pay the higher charge for the tacos, she still wouldn't accommodate. He had to get all three of the same kind, and didn't even end up liking the one he was forced to choose. The rest of the food was sub-par, quality and price. It wasn't a horrible experience, but not a pleasant one. We will not be back.
Went in for a fish fry on Friday night, we had reservations for two. They sat us at a high table (that seats 6) so we asked for a lower sit down table - there was more than 5 available. When I filled out the reservation online, I chose the main dining room as the option. After 20 minutes they finally moved us. We both ordered the fish, and I was disappointed, the fish was very greasy, the fries were undercooked and limp. Overall I was disappointed, the only saving grace was our waitress (think her name was Wendy) was very attentive to our and the other tables she was waiting on.
Joined another couple to catch up and chose this place. It was a Friday and we had reservations. I ordered the roast beef sandwich and asked for it medium . They couldn't guarantee it. So I got it well done. The little cup of au jus spilled into my fries when the plate was put in front of me so soggy fries. Hubs and girl friend ordered the fish sandwich. Waitress put a very small tail end piece in front of my hubs and the friend got an oversized piece. Kitchen didn't pay attention to portion control. They traded sandwiches. Girlfriends husband got the fish fry and no complaints about his dinner. Now this place was really cold inside like no heat. Another note hubs loves a really good single malt scotch and the selection was nil. His fav is Glenfiddich and they don't stock it. That's too bad. We really wanted to stay and socialize but we left bc lack of high end scotch. They appear to have an outside drinking area for summer evenings but not sure. Also not sure we'll be back. They had a decent selection of wine and beer tho.
6/17/24 The meals were very good but it was an 85 degree and muggy day. I asked the waitress if the AC was broken. It wasn't, the boss didn't want it on. I sweated so much I had toput my hair up. Owner needs to realize once the building is cold it wil stay cold with minimum energy. The next few days are going to be in the 90s. I would recommend going anywhere but here. Come when it's cooler and you'll have a enjoyable meal.
bartenders need to pay more attention to the customers. food was slow to arrive.
They had an excellent fish Fry several years ago when I last ate there. Now they offered only frozen fish with a bland mystery coating that is hard and crunchy.
I'm rating this as a restaurant only I've never been there to drink or for the bands they have The food is very average and they gave some decent specials The enclosed porch overlooking the creek is probably the most noteworthy feature
Lured there by the 5 dollar pop-up in my Facebook scrolling. I always enjoy a well-made burger. The 12 to 3 special had the place loaded almost to capacity. Rustic metal non-padded chairs had us choosing the picnic table instead. The single waitstaff was working very hard and assured us she would assist soon. She did and checked in often during the meal. She stated that she was new but handled the front of the house like a seasoned professional. Our appetizer of loaded French Fries was missing the green onions, though I don't believe the onions would have improved it enough to bring it from the 3.35 it tasted like, to the 9.95 they charged. We ordered onion rings to go with our 5.00 burgers, and only a few were burnt while the rest were ok. The rodeo burger was slightly overcooked, but the vinegar based BBQ sauce created enough saliva that burger wasn't bad. The Black-n-blue burger was exactly what its name stated. A burnt burger with a small smattering of blue cheese between the two dry disks of former beef. I had thought that the time of 28 minutes from finishing the appetizer to getting the entrée was due to the busy Saturday-Special being done... apparently, it just takes a 1/2 hour to make jerkyburger on a fresh bun. In summary, when the cookstaff eventually gets this place shut down... find out where the waitstaff moves on to... and eat there.
We really enjoyed the music and our server did a great job. The food was decent, but nothing to rave about and our table was sticky. The main reason for taking off 2 stars is due to the fact that I had to walk through numerous people smoking/vaping right in front of the front door and I had to walk through it to leave. Whatever they were smoking gave me an instant allergy attack that lasted 24 hours. The parking lot is chaotic and dark and needs to be paved.
This place is so CUTE. The fire pits, the corn hole, live music, the outdoor patios. Really so unique to the area! But the food is just so not it. Portions are super small for the prices they charge and the quality is the same you could get from the frozen aisle at the grocery store for 3x the price. Plus staff- mostly the bartenders could be friendlier. We walked in with a large group and they looked at us and kept going on about their day. We then waited another 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. All we wanted to do was enjoy the view, have some fun and spend some money! But left leaving feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied. I think this place has so much potential. Keep at it guys! We will try again in a few years!
The wings are 25/50 cent for reason. Don’t try to ask for extra crispy because the wings are not made to order they are premade they just toss them in whatever sauce you order. We ordered extra crispy and the wings came out in 5 min is how I know they were pre made. The wings were barely cooked I couldn’t even finish them. You get what you pay for here. Drinks were pretty weak too. Place suffers from an Extreme lack of diversity. I was the only person of color in the whole place I wasn’t uncomfortable but it was very obvious people like me don’t come here. Overall not a great experience but not the worst either. Service was great server was very nice
On a Friday night you would think you fell into a highschool party drunk kids cussing you out as you're pulling into the driveway walk in there and they have a DJ instead of a band and then took 45 minutes to get a drink cuz the bartender was so hammered an at one point that tipsy song or whatever came on an the whole bar I mean every person!! broke out into this ho-down ,flash mob style dance smh lmfao all that said this place was great 10 years ago your better off at Marvin's or Campbell's honestly
Food is nothing to write home about unfortunately. Overpriced for what you’re actually getting. Ive recommended this place to friends and family but no one seems to be to impressed after a visit. Used to frequent last summer quite a bit but beer selection is below average. I’m talking about domestic beers that most establishments in the area have, not craft beer. It’s a shame to see a place like this with so much potential not cater to their customer base. Been back once this year in the Spring. I do wish them luck though.
went for food and drinks on a saturday. the food and drinks were fine but the service was poor. very pushy and were rushing us out of there. not very welcoming, won’t be returning
We had never been here before, figured we would try somewhere different. Made a reservation on Google. When we got there, there were maybe 8 people-understandable it is a Tuesday. Walked in and not greeted didnt know where to go and had to ask. The waiting server was great, that is the 3 stars. As for the food....I had ordered the Mahi sandwich with cajan fries, my husband ordered the chicken sandwich with the same fries. The fish was good. The roll, not so much. The edges were hard making it difficult to eat. I had to cut it in half where the roll was splitting. I thought maybe because of the grilling but it was not really grilled. The fries were good. Now for my husband's chicken sandwich, it looked like it had been previously grilled and then breaded afterwards. My husband said it was EXTREMELY dry. I assume it was previously grilled for something else (due to the ends being charred like it was grilled), saved, and then breaded tonight for his chicken sandwich. There was no mayo for the chicken sandwich, had to ask for it. The waitress (as I had said was the reason for 3 stars) was great! It was a place we tried but won't be back.
We went for dinner for the dozen clams for $12 on Thursdays. Wanted raw clams , 4 were broken when served . The bill arrived and it was $19 for a dozen clams. I showed the waitress the Facebook advertisement and she said that is for steamed clams only!! It doesn’t say that anywhere. Waitress seemed very annoyed ! She went to talk to the manager and came back with $5 off the bill and a $6 drink chip! A waste cuz we will not go back! Beef in wreck with 5 wings $20 ordered fries with it. Everything was cold!
Unfortunately not really impressed. Beef on weck-beef was overcooked and really dry. Ship steak arrived without the special sauce. Had to wait and ask for it. Overheard waitress saying they were out of onion rings for whatever type of burger they ordered. Don't think we'll eat here again.
We were really disappointed tonight. We have enjoyed going here since the remodel. It had been a great place for a sandwich or fish fry. Not sure if they lost their chef but the fish fry was not the traditional beer battered fish that they offered in the past. They now only offer what was obviously breaded frozen fish. And the "coleslaw" was just gross. Not sure what the dressing was but...yuck. How do you mess up a fish fry in Buffalo? Just serve fresh fish and regular coleslaw.
First time here. The food was good our waitress was great but we ended up waiting an hour and a half for a pulled pork sandwich and two fish dinners which I believe is unacceptable. We had a reservation so they knew we were coming, after we ordered out waitress came back 1/2 later and said the kitchen was backup sorry for the wait. After an hour waiting for our food she said it was still going to get awhile, did we want to still wait, at this point it was after 7pm, where could we go at that point so we waited. No management came over to apologize, it was left up to the waitress to handle. Although the food and waitress were great, we won't be going back again. This is why I rated 2 stars.
Must have had a kitchen turnover. The beef on weck went from one the best in WNY to a deli beef on a role with table salt. Wife’s salad with mahi was ok but not as good as last time. Don’t bother going for the food.
WE went for 50 cent wings on a thursday night. Got there at 4:30- got our wings at 5:45! Ridiciulous and I ordered garlic parm wings- they were just mild not garlic parm. I didnt even bother complaining, because It probably would of been another hour!. As we were walking out I noticed how absolulety the floors were. It looks like they havent been washed in years. If I go back, it will only be for the music. I am giving this place a thumbs down
The music was so loud you couldn't talk and the band was not what we expected. I couldn't even tell what songs they were playing. We moved 3 times and finally went out to the patio, where it was much better. The bar itself is small, and there is not a lot of seating. My friend ordered the fried shrimp she liked. It was more of an appetizer, with no sides or anything. I have been here twice, and I think it will be my last. It may be for some, but not me. There were a lot of bikers there.
Went there today 530 .ordered beef on weck wing plate. Food arrived the beef looked like it had been sitting in water forever. way over cooked (ISN'T BEEF SUPPOSED TOO BE RARE) wings were just right but lacked celery as well as blue cheese.just a disappointing dinner with my daughter.
Not good. Came in on Sunday at 8pm. Only the "late night" menu was available. Ordered Mozzarella sticks, loaded fries, loaded nachos and cauliflower bites. Waited over 30 minutes with only 5 people at the bar and 1 couple at a table. Everything but the mozzarella sticks was cold. Pulled pork nachos were literally from the refrigerator cold. We were starving so we ate it rather than wait again since a larger group had arrived during the wait. Nice looking place with loads of potential but it will likely be a long time before I choose to spend $60 on cold food again. Quite disappointing.
Sat at table 15 minutes No one came to take my order so I walked away. Not the friendliest place to be. Won't go back with all my friends
The food I ordered was okay. They have a jukebox where you can get a discount and buy six songs for 5 dollars, instead of a dollar per song. I picked 6 thrash metal, black metal, death metal, and groove metal bands. My first four songs played. The final two were stopped before they were finished. Their jukebox is programmed to stop a song early if someone else pays for songs. It needs to let songs finish first, otherwise it is stealing money from the earlier customer, I don't need my songs to play before the other ones are finished. Since some, but not all of the bands I picked aren't popular isn't a justifiable reason to stop a song early. None of the songs had any swearing so it wouldn't matter if kids were there. Imagine they did this if a customer next to you didn't like a certain type of food and you weren't served your order because of the customer sitting next to you and the business kept the money. I won't be back here.
1 star is being generous. My husband and stopped there, it happened to be a Monday night. There was nothing else open in the area. My first time there, not impressed at all. Bartender not very welcoming. Servers looked like they didn't want to be there either. One of the servers spent more time sitting at the bar chit chatting with the bartender then anything. Wanted to order some food while we were there, but was way overpriced, and we don't mind ever spending a bit on some food. The only comment I had for husband was " I'd rather drip hot sauce in my eyes then ever go there again"..... What a shame....
Came here for the first time. Will not be a repeat customer. The fish fry was the worst my boyfriend has ever had. The coleslaw tasted like mold and not edible. The drink was nasty ( shirley temple ) tasted musty. The rodeo burger was good but fries were ok - nothing to write home to. For sure would not recommend this place at all.
if you take a take out order you should be telling the person the exact time to pick it up. my father ordered food and after arriving, not once but three times told to wait 10 more minutes.. a half hour later. I should have been told on the phone a better estimate of time this was ridiculous.
Waited at the bar for 15 minutes to get a drink until the bartender said she would be with us soon. Kept waiting until she continued to serve everyone else but us, so we walked out.
Rather disappointing and overpriced. I attended a lunch with 10 other people. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was OK but not quick. Since we requested separate checks they automatically charged us 20% gratuities. I ordered an a la carte 8 oz burger patty with cheddar and bacon. I got 2 thin, overcooked smash patties with 2 slices of cheddar and 4 pieces of bacon (nothing else). My bill was over $22.
Went to see a specific band playing there...which was wrong on their website because it was never updated....spent $100 on overpriced food and drinks for 2. For the prices...THIS IS NOT AN UPSCALE RESTAURANT it's a bar with overpriced BAR food.....
I am currently at the ship sitting here watching people being seated and waited on. Food ordered and served etc… We have yet to be greeted by the waitress with my party of 6. I have been being ignored for over 2 hours and had to go to the bar to get a drink and go back to my table. The waitresses make eye contact and look away quick and rush away. What a joke
My wife and I recently went on a Sunday 7/11/24 and we normally like it here. But everything was BAD. the service was there but she seemed to just deal with one table at a time while other tables were waiting for checks, food, etc.we are saying total of 4 tables.she was nice but very laid back no sense of urgency at all. Now the food..... For 17.95 the have advertised smash burgers.i decided to get the blue smash.i have had these burgers all around wny so I know what a "smash" burger is. The burger came out and it was 2 perfectly round burgers (reminded me of BK burgers)"smashed" on the flat top to crisp them up a scoop of blue cheese definitely NOT a smash burger. No lettuce, tomato, onion. I did not say nothing because we did see server for another 20 mins ..17.95??? Wow...sorry to say never again and I will tell everyone I know do not go.i sent email to management before this post but no response so I decided to do this. What a shame due to nice atmosphere.
The wings were horrible broken bits of gross Ness. Service was terrible I ordered extra Bleu cheese when I ordered the wings. We were out of Bleu cheese the waitress noticed she forgot the extra one went to get it and forgot it again!!!! I can't make this up!! It was cold and uncomfortable. I ordered a deep eddy lemon and water it was weak and gross. We had a party of 8 I asked everyone else what they thought of their food and no one had anything good to say. Needless to say none of us will be back
My son and his friends went to this restaurant last Friday. Before they went they checked this website and it said .25 wings on Friday.. as it still does. When their bill came they were charged .50/wing. My son questioned their waitress and she got the owner. The owner was very dismissive and argumentative with my son and refused to honor the price that is listed on his website. This is false advertising and reportable. Awful customer service. My son and his friends went there 4 or 5 times before this and they are now going to take their business elsewhere.
I ordered chicken fingers they were under cooked and I sent them back.when I got new one made they were over cooked and hard to cut. My waitress was very polite and willing to have new ones made after the first batch was under cooked after getting the second plate over cooked I didn't ask her to send them back because I didn't want to make her feel bad. My wife and I will never go back there and will tell friends and family not to go there because the cooks don't know how to cook
Omg monday they had no lettuce so half menu was gone, no roast beef. 2 people work the floor very nice but it took 1 hr for chicken fingers. I don't care how busy your weekend was. Go to Gordon's or restaurant warehouse and get a case of lettuce. Stay closed if you couldn't get lettuce pretty dirty dive looking bar. I won't be going back.
We were very excited a few years ago when they were renovating and reopening as The Ship, it looked great inside, beautiful location, close by. It was nice to see some different items on the menu too! However, we will probably not be going back after several poor experiences since. A couple of months ago we heard about a band on Sunday, thought we'd go check it out and have a late lunch/early dinner. There were conflicting times posted for the band but we hoped it would work out. There was no hostess but several little kids eating fries at the entrance. After waiting a few minutes for an adult, we finally walked around inside to try to get a table. We stood at the bar for 10 minutes to ask how to get a table, the bartender ignored us completely, it was not really busy, there were customers but it was not busy. Several waitresses walked by and I tried to get their attention to no avail. So we just left. Last Friday, wanting a fish fry and some seafood snacks, we decided to call for takeout. I waited quite a while at the hostess stand to pickup my order. The hostess went to seat a couple that walked in right ahead of me, I saw them get seated on the patio and then she didn't come back to me. Another hostess walked through, answered the phone, ignored me and kept walking. Eventually one of them came back, went to check on my order, came back and said it was at the bar and I had to go there. My fish fry was nothing to speak of, tasteless fries and I see now on the menu, I should have received coleslaw but didn't so it was pricey. My companion ordered a bowl of clam chowder and clams casino. Definitely did not receive a bowl! It's the standard Buffalo fare you can get anywhere except it's not good quality and the poor service really gives no reason to go back. Again, it's really too bad because it's a beautiful location, we'd love to support another neighborhood business.
Arrived and seated at 6pm on a tuesday, only 4 other tables were occupied. Waitress didn't come for our drink order until 6:15, didn't get drinks until 6:30. Placed order immediately, didn't get food until 7:30. No apologies. Food was only average. This was our 4th time there since they opened and things keep getting worse and worse.
terrible atmosphere, people are very rude! We will never go back. Bar tender was drinking.
My wife, son and I went to this place for the first time since it became The Ship. It should be called Shipwreck!!! They advertise on their website 50 cent wings on Thursday's which is why we went. Walked in and the hostesses said they stopped doing it. Then why is it still on your website. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!! The manager would NOT honor it. We stayed anyways to try the food. I am a business owner myself and would not treat my customers this way. As far as the food goes. My chicken sandwich had wilted lettuce on it and was just ok. My son's wings were soggy and not crispy. Yuck. The food was way over priced. The waitress was horrendous. Took forever to get refills. My wife asked for ranch for her seasoned fries and she never brought any. Are you frigging kidding me!!!! I will never ever step foot in this place again and will definitely spread the word about my experience at this shipwreck place.
Well. Where do I begin? I really hate giving a terrible review to a local establishment, but I'm going to. That's how bad it was. It was a Wednesday so we didn't think it would be to crowded or slow because it's not to crowded. We were wrong. We were told to seat ourselves, I don't like that as you never know if the server sees you as a new table. So we wait about 5 to 7 minutes before anyone even came out to the outdoor seating area. But no one has acknowledged our presents . Maybe 10 minutes we get a server to ask for drink order. Many minutes pass before drinks are brought out. The smallest cup possible with maybe 4oz of diet coke mostly ice at the cost of $3.75. We order our food , nothing fancy just burgers and fries. Many more minutes pass. I asked if we all cold get a refill and she takes my cup and doesn't return with any drinks. Food finally comes out. Mind you, it's NOT busy at all. Maybe 10 tables in the whole place are filled. Food was ok. Burgers were good fries are just ok. No napkins no silverware and every ketchup bottle is empty. She comes back by not for us but she noticed that the ketchup was empty and finds another one , we asked for napkins, they never come. We ask for the check, and she has take out containers and napkins ( no check) starts to walk away and I say nicely "we will take the napkins though " she finally returns with the check. And then gone again. Finally left the money on the table and left. We did leave a tip but I really didn't want to. This is not the first time for this type of terrible service. But it was our last time there. Which is to bad because we live right in the neighborhood. I gave the atmosphere 2 stars because the weeds were so tall you couldn't see the water. In closing, do better The Ship. We were not alone, everyone else had the same problem.
My BF and l went there for dinner Sunday. We wanted to eat outside, no host, so my BF went and asked if anyone was working outside, she said yes. We Sat at our table for 10 minutes no one came over, so we went in Sat at a table by the bar another 7 minutes no one came over, so we left. Terrible service.
Went for the Bills game. This place was not prepared. I felt bad for our server clearly understaffed. Waited forever for food...when it came it was cold. My drink order got screwed up 3 timed. When the last of our table showed up the server didn't get to us for 45 min to get their 1st drink. They tried the bar twice and couldn't even get served. I mean....every table was reserved so they knew it was gonna be a busy night. Not great management I guess
Went for wing night Wednesday. Hostess asked how many. Told her the rest of our party may already be here. She stated that she had no guests inside waiting for anyone. So we told her 4 adults and 1 toddler. She asked the 2 parties behind us how many and proceeded to take the ones behind us to their table. When she got back my husband asked her why weren't seated first. Before she could respond a women came out to the lobby and started yelling at my husband. Very loud and unprofessional. Dirty blonde hair. I've been to the place approx 10 times through the summer and have never seen this woman before. Waitress showed us to our table. It was one with the bar stools. My husband calmly asked the hostess if we could have a different table since our 3 year old grandson would not be able to sit in a high chair and be able to see over the table. As soon as he got the words out of his mouth, the same nasty women ( manager? ) came up behind us yelling "what is the problem now" at the top of her lungs. With all eyes of everyone in the restaurant on us, my husband kindly requested one of the empty picnic tables inside that were both empty, and high chair accessible. The loud, obnoxious women said " we don't have any other tables available. You can eat outside or you can leave". If it wasn't for meeting our daughter and grandson there, I would have chosen the last option. So the 3 year old had to sit at the table on the bar stool that's about a four foot fall. Very dangerous and very unprofessional. Needless to say... We won't be back due to this experience. And I will definitely not be applauding The Ship Bar and Grill to anyone. If I didn't know better, I would swear her name was Karen. Very embarrassing and humiliating.
This is an update to my first review. Went back recently to have some drinks with friends and was treated horrendously by a female bartender. First off there are not enough. It’s Saturday night, you have a band, and only 2 bartenders who are more interested in doing shots than serving customers. I was overlooked for 20 mins. Finally when I attempted to speak up I was given an attitude, called a lier and skipped again. I will never go to this place again. I have spent a lot of money there over the past year and introduce many. I will spread the word that this place does not care about their customers who work hard all week just to be treated like crap when it’s time to relax a just have a drink. Shameful. I was very nice in my attempt to get her attention and she immediately jumped on me. I was embarrassed and upset. Old review This place just recently opened back up after a remodel. Went there for dinner with my family last night and it was spectacular. The vibe is friendly and clean. You can immediately see all of the improvements they made and it looks wonderful. There is an outside bar and fire pit area, the bar inside is opened and modern. I can’t wait to come back for a few drinks. The food was delicious as well. Our waitress Paige greeted us immediately and ensured our drinks were full and we were well taken care of. I had the scallops which were so so good, just not a big enough portion. Here is my only compliant and why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I left hungry! Maybe adding 2 more scallops would do the trick. The fried green tomatoes were so good and I do not even like tomatoes! My husband had the burger on special with the egg on top and loved it! I recommend this place, it’s fun, clean, good food and service, and affordable. Family of 5 ate for just over 100 bucks.
