Simply amazing. Greeted well, waiter knew the dishes off the back of his hand, recommended a few dishes after asking us about how we like our spice dishes. Food was really good, and glad we listened to the waiter on his recommendation, we didn’t choose everything he said but most of them anyway.
Out of this world. Hands down, the best, not just Indian, but any fine dining restaurant I’ve been to. Service was impeccable and at scale. Waiter throughly explained the menu & dishes, and multiple waiters quickly cleaned & reset the table after each dish. The place has a nice open kitchen feel, but I wish the decor & ambience was more Indian. Food was simply fantastic. The meat dishes were flavorful and melt in your mouth. Presentation & taste are both phenomenal, and overall this was the best experience I’ve had.
Without a doubt the best Indian meal I’ve ever had. Followed closely only by their sister restaurant, Chutney Mary. They more than earned their Michelin Star and deserve a second! Every dish was fantastic, but the standouts were: Seafood platter - Includes scallop, prawn, and fried oyster. Devine. Palawan is the unexpected standout here. Black Pepper Chicken tikka - perfectly tandoori grilled, moist, and flavorful. Crispy Cabbage and Noodle Salad - Fresh, light, satisfyingly crunchy. I could eat this all day and feel good about myself. Minced chicken lettuce parcel - Lettuce wrap with a light curry chicken, perfect way to start your meal Punjabi Channa Chaat Tart - Explosion of all your favorite Indian street food flavors in a single bite. Butter chicken - Don’t judge me, but this was amazing. My only wish is it was a bit spicier. Truffle naan - Superb complement to the butter chicken Cocktails were also great. I especially liked: Smoked Old Fashioned - Perfectly executed, lingering smoke lasted throughout the drink. G’Old Fashioned - A fig dominant old fashioned with notes of coconut and an Indian whiskey base. More unique than the Smoked Old Fashioned, and a tad bit lighter. Service was impeccable, and I especially liked our server’s willingness to be honest with us about his thoughts on the dishes. Felt like we were friends by the end of the night :) Prices were reasonable given the quality, and since it’s tapas style, you could order light and get away under £100pp.
I've visited this restaurant several times and it never fails to deliver. From the attention to detail from the waiters to the impeccable food this a dining experience not just a meal. It raises the bar for all Indian Fine dining restaurants. Indian food has been elevated to new heights without loosing authenticity. The desserts were outstanding and much credit goes to the pastry chef. This restaurant never fails to exceed expections and made our New Years Eve incredibly special and I saw in the new year with an incredible chocolate fondant tart!
Dining at Amaya in London was a captivating experience that beautifully showcased the elegance and depth of modern Indian cuisine. The Amaya Favourites Menu delivered a culinary journey where every dish felt thoughtfully curated, balancing refined technique with bold, authentic flavors. From the first sip, the Arctic Mojito impressed with its refreshing coolness, blending mint and citrus in a way that instantly awakened the palate. Its natural sweetness and herbal notes paired beautifully with the delicate bubbles of the Wild Idol Sparkling Rosé (England, 2023), whose subtle fruitiness and clean finish added a celebratory tone to the evening. The starters set the tone for artistry and precision: vibrant salads and intricately plated small bites layered freshness, spice, and contrasting textures. The grilled selections — smoky, tender, and kissed with char — exemplified the skill of Amaya’s open kitchen. Each piece felt thoughtfully seasoned, highlighting the beauty of spice without overpowering the ingredients. The main courses continued the momentum with deeply satisfying richness. The kebabs offered warmth and complexity, while the bread and sides added comforting balance — crisp, aromatic potatoes and soft roti meant to cradle each bite. The biryani, fragrant and beautifully layered, was the kind of dish that brings out the soul of Indian cuisine: rice perfumed with saffron and perfectly cooked meat or vegetables, a harmony of textures and aromas. Dessert was a delightful surprise — playful in presentation yet elegant in flavor, ending the meal on a note of sweetness that lingered like a fond memory. Every aspect of the experience reflected Amaya’s Michelin-level attention to detail — from the plating and ingredients to the attentive service and calm dining atmosphere. It is a restaurant that approaches Indian cuisine with respect, creativity, and confidence, transforming traditional flavors into something truly exceptional. I left with a deep appreciation for the craft behind every dish and a strong desire to return.
Had an amazing lunch at Amaya!!! As a vegetarian, went for items besides the lunch platter (have had it several times earlier) and it was still great value for money at a Michelin restaurant. My favourites were the crispy cabbage and noodle salad, kerala ghee roast potato, naveratan seekh kebab and the stuffed chilli biryani. They also surprised with a lovely chocolate mousse cake for our Valentine’s Day celebration 💖 highlight is the chutney tray with rose coriander chutney and red berries chutney. Suggestion: please have more dishes with a spicy Indian savoury element.
One of the best Indian restaurants in London with Michelin star. You can get a launch menu for 32£ but expect to pay about 80£ per person with drink and desert. Which is still reasonable amount for London Michelin star restaurant. Of course, you can do 62£ launch menu for 2 drinking tap water but this is not the point. Reservation recommended via their web page (no extra fee required!). Try it, you will not regret it.
I don't care what they say about the Mayfair Michelin Indian restaurants..this place blows everyone off the map...absolutely amazing not one dish was average the whole experience was phenomenal 👌 big shout out to our waiter Lorenzo...pure Italian boy who is beginning to sound like an Indian.. even does the headshake and bhangra i moves to perfection 😅
Lunch at Michelin starred Amaya Restaurant London. We had the ‘Favourites’ menu which proved to be a fantastic introduction to the food. Some great, innovative Indian dishes, very tasty and nicely presented. Decent, friendly service too. £55 for 4 courses was good value too. Another restaurant that’s an easy recommendation.
Super tasty and well presented Indian with a variety of vegan choices. I had a reservation and was looked after quickly. Easily asked about vegan options and was given good suggestions so took advice on what to order. Try the aubergine tikka - I’m not a fan of aubergine but this was delicious! Busy restaurant. Worth a visit. Toilets downstairs. Probably best to book.
As expected from a Michelin-starred restaurant, the food and cooking quality are truly exceptional—there’s no question about that. Every dish was crafted with precision and depth of flavor that clearly reflects the restaurant’s high culinary standards. That said, I do wish the tables had a slightly more refined or elegant design, as they resembled old-school wooden benches, which felt a bit out of place given the overall level of the dining experience. Additionally, a palate cleanser between courses would have been a thoughtful touch to elevate the progression of flavors even further. Overall, the culinary execution was outstanding, and the experience was memorable. Highly recommended for the food alone.
A Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in Belgravia, as a phenomenal dining experience that lives up to its reputation. The author highlights the exceptional grilled dishes, especially the "masterpiece" lamb chops and succulent grilled chicken. The chicken curry, biryani, and fresh raita were also singled out for their delicious and sophisticated flavors. The review concludes by calling Amaya an unforgettable experience that redefines modern Indian cuisine and declares it the best Indian restaurant in London.
We had the absolute best time at Amaya! The service was out of this world and the food was just the best food we have ever eaten! The staff went out of their way to make my husband and I feel special on our anniversary, and because it was a special day for us we got to have the dinner tasting menu and the food was honestly, just sublime! We can’t thank Amaya enough for such a wonderful afternoon and fantastic food!
A consistently exceptional experience at Amaya Grill We absolutely love Amaya Grill. The food is exceptional every single time, beautifully seasoned, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The service is just as impressive. We visited last week Saturday and enjoyed it so much that we returned yesterday with friends, and it was just as wonderful. Fernandes was a fantastic host last week and Swinal looked after us this week with the same warmth and professionalism. It’s rare to find a place where the team is consistently welcoming. The atmosphere is buzzing yet classy, striking that perfect balance between lively and comfortable. It’s the kind of restaurant you look forward to returning to, and we always look forward to returning... Who knows maybe next weekend £££ Ps. Cocktails are excellent
We came here for our anniversary and the food did not disappoint. Lorenzo was on point with all his recommendations and thanks to him we had the best meal! The tandoori prawns & the pistachio chocolate dessert were phenomenal. So was the chana chaat!
Beautiful restaurant, an open kitchen with a view of the skewers of meat, seafood and vegetables going in and out of the tandoor oven. Black pepper chicken tikka looked like nothing special, but it was so soft, juicy and morish. I savoured every bit of it. The tandoori leg of lamb covered in curry was exceptional. I shared the leg of lamb with my wife, she wrapped the lamb in a garlic naan and made herself a greek styled gyros wrap. I ate some of mine with rice and some with naan, most of it though, I enjoyed on its own, it was delightful.
What an exceptional experience at Amaya for my anniversary! This place lives up to its reputation as a Michelin star restaurant, and displays its unique culinary excellence! The portions are reasonable and sufficient, and the quality is exceptional. They have a unique charcoal grilling method, which imparts a lovely smokey flavour on the food, sensationally sublime! Smoked Chilli Lamb chops - Absolutely scintillating! Cooked to perfection with a smokey aroma permeating throughout the meat and perfect balance of sweetness and spice throughout. 9/10 Black Pepper Chicken Tikka- You have to order this! The chicken is charcoal grilled to perfection, with a smokeyness and tenderness that is unparalleled for any other type of chicken tikka i have consumed! 10/10 Butter Chicken - Excellent combination of creamy/tangy, with tandoori grilled chicken that melts in your mouth after every bite. Sensationally addictive, a must have ! 10/10 Chicken Biryani - A surprisingly aromatic biryani which actually delivers. And the chicken yet again grilled to perfection ! Decent blend of masala spice throughout the Biryani but I would advise them to increase the masala quantity of the dish for perfection. 9/10 Truffle Naan - The best naan I have ever consumed, no questions asked. The tandoor produces an excellently fluffy naan, and the truffle addition helps the bread just melt in your mouth with tantalising taste buds! A special shoutout to Gopi and Delphine! They went out their way to ensure that the experience was exceptional for me and my wife, and were extremely accommodating. They are huge assets to this establishment and I would like to dedicate this review to their phenomenal customer service and for helping to make my anniversary an even more special occasion for us.
The place offers an exceptional dining experience with its Michelin-starred Indian cuisine. The open kitchen adds excitement, showcasing chefs crafting flavorful grilled dishes like smoked chili lamb chops. Paired with impeccable service and a vibrant ambiance, it’s a must-visit culinary gem. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very nice.
Great experience. Lovely food and very good and humble staff. We found parking space 1min walk from the restaurant. Which is Ideal. The entrance to the restaurant is from the back side of the building. The atmosphere was really welcoming. The grill aroma in the restaurant was just enough to make you feel hungry. Had an amazing night out with my wife.
My date at Amaya Grill and Bar was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was elegant and inviting, setting the perfect tone for a memorable lunch. The service was top-notch—attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The food was incredible, with each dish bursting with flavour and expertly presented. The grilled meats were perfectly cooked, and the flavours were rich and complex. We also enjoyed the drinks, which were expertly crafted. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Amaya.
Such a great experience! Loved sitting by the open kitchen and watching them cook everything. Service and attention to detail was top notch. Food was incredible. Staff are impressive. I recommend trying new things here even if you think you don’t like something because it will the best cooked oyster or salmon or whatever you’ve ever had. Thank you to the Amaya team for a wonderful evening!
Wonderful modern Indian cuisine. Flavorful nuance that's very well done. I especially liked the duck, yellow daal and seasonal mangos. The service was friendly and efficient.
“I’d like to thank Christopher for his outstanding service and warm smile. His attention to detail and friendly attitude made my experience at the Indian restaurant in London truly unforgettable. A perfect example of professionalism and great hospitality.”
Such a beautiful restaurant with top tier customer service. We enjoyed every moment of our experience and would highly recommend and will visit again! We were greeted nicely, our coats were taken and we were taken to our table. Food was exceptional and we enjoyed a lovely cake at the end on the house for choosing Amaya to celebrate a birthday! Beautiful beautiful beautiful!
I’ve been here a few times but over 7-8 years ago and always remembered their food being amazing. I suggested this place to celebrate a friends birthday and boy it did not disappoint. They have kept the same (if not better) standard, taste, ambience and flavour! We ordered the tasting menu and it was just unreal. I got the veggie one and each dish was literally ‘melt in the mouth’. My friends also said that the meat dishes were really tender and delicious. The cocktails were also awesome especially the lychee and rose martini. The service was faultless. A lot of people say that you can’t find a good authentic fine dining/Michelin Indian restaurant but I disagree. This food definitely was authentic and very filling. I would highly recommend Amaya. It’s just perfect.
Thank you Taison for the best service ever.. I wish all employees will be serving customers as you did.. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and offcourse Taison’s a service and smile 😊..
This was our first time experience going to an Indian Tapas fine dine. We have special dietary requirements and Tyson George helped us throughout and made sure we were looked after really well. The food was very good quality and taste but one of the dishes were slightly spicier than they should be(according to me) otherwise food would have got 5 stars too. The atmosphere was great but we felt a bit claustrophobic because of too many tables in a relatively confined area. We were celebrating a special day and the experience made it more special. Tyson went the extra mile to make the day even more special by creating a special dessert for us. I think it is a must visit place if you are a food lover.
INDIAN TAPA STYLE DINING IN THE MIDDLE OF BELGRAVIA~Michelin Star WELL Deserved!!!! We found Amaya purely by accident as we were staying at a hotel nearby. It was our 1st time at a Michelin starred Indian Restaurant and Amaya did not disappoint. We were lucky to score last minute reservations as due to time difference we were quite hungry much earlier than usual (630pm) as by the time 730pm came around Amaya was packed on this Tuesday night. The menu was very interesting as it is meant more as a Tapa style share menu than a more traditional indian restaurant experience and we had a GREAT time picking 7 small items (excluding the AMAZING must have Truffle Naan and Raita with Pomegranite). We were also given 4 amazing chutneys to use including a fantastic Rose and Cumin as well as Peanut Butter one. Again very unexpected flavors that neither of us had had before in this combination. The Cabbage Noodle Salad was super good and the Chicken Briyani as well as the Black Pepper Chicken and Ginger Chicken were just amazing. The service was fantastic as food just suddenly appeared in front of us in perfect timing to our needs. We decided to try the Indian Lager beer and are glad we did---it mixed perfectly with the spcies and flavors of our various dishes. There was NO way for us to even look at the dessert menu but there were some wonderful choices there as well as we just settled for some fresh mint tea to end this most interesting and fascinating evening of Indian tapa style dining. Don't let your next trip to London go by without checking out Amaya. A special shout out goes to the lovely Hostess from Slovenia who greets you upon your arrival and immediately sets the tone for a beautiful evening to come.
Delicious food, great service, and lovely atmosphere. One of the best Indian meals I’ve had in London!
This was probably the best restaurant we went to. I would not hesitate to give 5 star rating on the food and service. The waiters provided brief explanation to each dish as they came and they tasted amazing. The service and the food was extraordinary. If it's your first visit you should go for the taster set menu. It's expensive but your are paying for the fine dinning experience. I am definitely visiting Amaya again. They take orders as late as 10pm! I would recommend you pre book to avoid waiting. One minor improvement would on the atmosphere; to have some Indian or other background music to go with the themes in the main dinning area. But this did not matter so much as the food was so delicious.
If you’re looking for the ultimate Indian dining experience, [Amaya Grill and Bar] is a masterpiece in both taste and service. Every dish is crafted with rich, authentic flavors, blending tradition with innovation. The service is impeccable—attentive, warm, and detail-oriented, making you feel truly special. From the first bite to the last, every dish tells a story of India’s vibrant culinary heritage. A must-visit for food lovers seeking an unforgettable experience!
We loved this place - extraordinary atmosphere, superbly produced food and a brilliant service! Plus we could tell them in advance we’d be there on our honeymoon which served us a very special treat including two generous glasses of champagne and a specially decorated dessert. Thanks ever so much, we’ll be back ❣️
Great food overall. I wont say it was exceptional but it is fine dining Indian food. We ordered most things on the menu. Biryani was good, chicken skewers were good, leg of lamb was just ok lacks taste, naan was good, butter chicken was good
The food, cocktails and wine were exceptional. An excellently curated menu with interesting choices. Of note, the restaurant is tapas-style with items coming out “when ready”, which can make parts of the meal feel disjointed. We also received our chutney (a paid add-on) near the end of our meal, which was disappointing as we weren’t able to enjoy it with much. Overall a great experience, but was left wanting in some regards considering the high expectations and price point.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amaya is such a great spot! Not your typical Indian restaurant, which makes it feel like a bit of an experience. The menu does need a little thought as it’s best to share and try a few different things, but the food is seriously good. The venue itself is gorgeous with a really lively atmosphere. It’s not cheap, but totally worth it for the quality and setting. Perfect for a special night out.
I didn’t know what to expect from this place. Vegetarian and spoilt with great Indian food from Leicester and North West London, fine dining doesn’t always quite do it for me flavour wise, but I was really impressed. Stand outs for me were the lotus stem buratta chaat and grilled aubergine - both amazing. The punjabi chana chaat was really good too. Papad, corn on the cob and paneer kofta curry were also nice - it’s a shame we were pretty full by the time we had the curry! Least favourite was the chilli paneer as it was pretty bland so would skip that next time. The service was outstanding and they made our celebration special!
Amaya is one of several one Michelin star Indian restaurants in London. I love Indian food so had to go here for a little celebration. Overall the food and service were excellent (details below) but it really was quite over priced. In the end shared between two we had (menu isn’t online so going from memory): - Chicken Labdabra - chilli lamb chops - Garlic naan - Pilau rice - bottle of still water - two glasses of house champagne And it came to £201! Draw your own conclusion. Tamarind is just as good (ok it lost its Michelin star but in my opinion it is just as good as Amaya). In detail: - Chicken Labdabra: amazing depth of flavour. I’ve never tasted such depth in any Indian dish. Superb. - chilli lamb chop: perfectly grilled, tender and just the right hint of spice - Garlic naan: well prepared and the right amount of garlic and butter - Pilau rice: a real highlight. The way they prepared this rice was unlike any pilau rice I had before. Overall recommended. Would I return? Probably, but I will go to Gymkhana first.
The quality of food was quite good. Biryani lamb was OK, but it was pretty basic for a * Michelin, for any good Indian restaurant really - meat was surprisingly dry. Senior staff was phenomenal, but Junior staff gave away a lack of training, certainly not what's expected of a starred establishment. Service felt rushed in a way, maybe because everything comes hot of the grill. We finished the dinner in less than an hour, not because we're fast eaters. Overall, it was a nice experience, but not likely to come back.
First experience of Indian fine dining. Contemporary food with some twist. Service was impeccable and everyone couldn’t do enough. Nice atmosphere with the food being the focus. The food was interesting. Tasty in parts and amazingly presented. Did it have the wow factor. Not sure it did. It was good, some was very good but not enough things were very good. Maybe I needed to try something different but as a group we had quite a lot of different dishes. I’d go again and try other things. It’s expensive but a nice treat. Worth a try but be ready not to be blown away.
Went there with colleagues after a hectic day for a dinner . We were a group of 10 people. Lovely ambience, courteous staff . Amazing collection of drinks. We like their early arrivals dishes (starters) on the menu more than the currys. Overall great food with quality service.
The food was out of this world but the service was disappointing, I know someone came over to try to fix the situation but this was right at the end once we had to make a complaint during our dinner service and I believe it wasn't enough. Also we were late to the restaurant due to its no short policy but when we were dining we noticed several people with shorts on. The acoustics needed to be sorted out as the restaurant was very loud. I had a hair in my drink that took over 10 mins to get resolved, I told a member of staff to which they said they will get someone to fix it, few minutes later I asked a different member of staff which looked to be in a higher roll and was told the same thing, of which I was sitting with a drink in front of me with a hair within as per the pictures, after a further few minutes I was going to tell someone else but the person dining with me got upset and went over to someone that had authority at that point the drink with a hair was removed, after being told, for a Michelin star this is unacceptable.
We visited this restaurant for lunch, we had booked a slot for 2:15 and arrived at 2:30, if they have their last slot at 2:15, they cannot expect to give the entire order in 20 minutes. We couldn’t order properly. Though the food was decent. We had a veg lunch thali which was delicious and very tasty. The starters were the highlight though the brocolli and the dal felt very average. We also ordered a chicken biryani which was the worst biryani I have ever tried, no flavour, no spices, super bland. I complained regarding the same and it was taken off the bill. However the service was very bad. The waiter kept hurrying during taking the order, was not very polite and when asked about the dishes, did not explain it properly, felt annoyed to explain. Also when we complained about the biryani, they weren’t really willing to do anything about it until I insisted. Also I asked them to remove the discretionary service charge of 7.5% which they refused to remove citing that they have a minimum spend policy of 60£ and they are not charging us for that, though there isn’t any mention on the website, no where on the email or when I had called to confirm about the service charge. The guy just forced us to pay the discretionary service charge by lying to us. This is very bad for a Michelin star restaurant especially after giving such a bad service. It was my 3 year anniversary and I did not enjoy the experience at all. I recommend the management to take serious action on your staff and train them properly and not try and CHEAT the customers.
Food is average, not reminiscent of Indian food as it lacks spices. Lamb chops were a particular disappointment. Nice concept which allows you to order small portions and share several dishes. Chicken and lamb are halal. Overpriced - £100+ pp is not worth it. Service is average - you'd expect far more from a Michelin star restaurant. Dishes are not brought out in order, no petite fours or palate cleansers but a 15% service charge. Dessert for our anniversary was a nice touch. I would not return and cannot recommend.
This is probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had in London! The service is horrible. They force you to pay service charge. And the chicken in the butter chicken is thin slices I’m soo disappointed!! DO NOT come here! They are way better restaurants in London. It wa also half empty on Friday and that goes to show you
