Where do I start? This place is fantastic and is a must go place! From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel super welcome. Decor and atmosphere is lovely. We had booked the fish and chip afternoon tea - this is just magnificent! The fact you get everything below included with unlimited hot drinks is just fantastic value for money! You get chunks of battered fish and plenty of chips, pickled eggs, tartare sauce, curry sauce, selection of cakes and scones with jam and cream - all of this was just divine! Then the drinks options are plentiful - we opted for hot chocolates, breakfast tea, and a Rooibos tea - which was frequently replenished when needed and also glasses of water too! All in all, this was such a fantastic experience (first ever time) and we cannot wait to re-book and do it all again A huge thank you to all the staff here too as you are amazing and attentive! Shout out to Roberta who was our server - you are brilliant! ❤️
I had a wonderful pre-birthday celebration at BBar. I originally booked for 1:30 PM, but they were so accommodating when I called to say I was running late and arrived at 1:45 PM. A massive highlight was that we never felt rushed; we didn’t leave until 5:00 PM and were given more than enough time to talk and relax. In Central London, it’s rare to find a place that doesn't hurry you along, but here we felt completely comfortable. We loved the flexibility of mixing the 'Chip Shop' and 'Traditional' afternoon teas. David was fantastic and looked after us for most of the service, ensuring our tea was always topped up. Towards the end, a lovely female server recommended the beautiful blooming Jasmine tea, which was a highlight. The gentleman who greeted us also handled our bill efficiently at the end. The quiet, chilled ambiance was perfect for a long birthday catch-up. Highly recommended!
Great little spot with good prices and a laid-back vibe. Came in mostly for dessert but ended up grabbing the fish and chips too — seriously good. Not usually a London pilsner guy, but it still hit the spot. Would definitely come back.
We had a great time as a family at this very well-located restaurant in London. The decor is very pretty, the atmosphere is good and quite calm, and the food was good. We recommend this restaurant!
Lovely South African afternoon tea with daughter and in-laws. Service was great! Lovely setting.
We went yesterday for a team fish & chip afternoon tea for 10 people. The food and service was fantastic. A big thank you to our waiter. There was so much food and we had plenty to take away. We were there at 2.30 so the place was very quiet and did lack a bit of atmosphere but I’m when it busier it would be buzzy.
Attended yesterday with my mum for the fish and chip afternoon tea. We were very warmly greeted by all staff upon our arrival as they were standing by the bar and taken to our seat. Huge portions of afternoon tea were quickly served within minutes alongside our drinks made to order. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely, nothing too much trouble. Totally worth every penny. Our main waitress was a lovely european lady with red hair, her service was immaculate, she was extremley friendly and attentive but not too much that we couldnt enjoy our time. We were also served by a younger african lady with long hair, she was also faultless and so kind when speaking to us. Both of these ladies are a credit to the team. Apologies for being descriptive about staff members but they didnt have name badges and I wanted to give them a special mention. I overheard a conversation between one of the male staff members, i think the manager? And another table who had a lot of requests+. Both myself and my mother noted how accomodating he was and went above and beyond to give the customers a great experience. We have already recommended to friends and family and look forward to returning! Thankyou for a great time.
Beautiful decor, incredible staff!! We were in a rush for a show and they really pushed the meals to come out as quickly as possible, thank you to the chefs and the waiters!! The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. If you go for a lunch/dinner deal, the prices are very good as well. Large menu. We'll definitely go again when we are back in London. It is really close to Victoria Palace theatre, great for a pre-show meal. 100% recommended!
Loved this place! One of the highlights of my trip to London was going here. I didn’t know until later that Bbar was associated with the Ruben hotel next-door. Look at the photo of my Gin drink, blueberry, grapefruit and coconut. It was as good as it looks. The service was excellent, the food had Indian spices.
My daughter and I spent the afternoon at BBar having the traditional Afternoon Tea which was delicious, the service was amazing and I would highly recommend it.
Cool little place..Stopped in here for a bite to eat after visiting Buckingham palace from the bus tour. The salad was so crisp and huge for a "small". I also had the honeycomb ice cream which was to die for.
Had an absolutely amazing saturday night for my Girlfriend 30th Birthday. Got seated in a great location in the restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The waiter was great. I wish I got his name as he deserves praise for his service, humour and style. Also had a very good waitress that served also. Quite busy night. Food when it came was exceptional from the A la carte menu. Amazing Chef. Prices expected from being in the heart of London so around £70-80 per person for Starter, main, desert and drinks. Also accommodating for my Girlfriends birthday was an amazing memorable night. Thankyou BBar. Would definately recommend and return again.
We had lunch here. We had chicken, fish and chips, kids size pasta and some sweet potato fries. They were all very good. The service was unbelievably amazing. Staff here were trying to cheer my daughter up and make her laugh, super nice and have sense of humor. Love this place.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. It was so good! The drinks and the food were yummy! The waiter was so happy and made us happy :)
Always accommodating for walk-ins. I went with my parents and my dad really liked it! The burger and salad 🥗 options were delicious, it was full of flavour and portion is great. My dad really liked his cocktails as well! Managers and staff are lovely, restaurant is nice and cozy! It’s for all season and location was spot on across Nova site in Victoria !
Booked to watch the England quarter final match. They had offers on including 16 chicken wings and 4 X bottle of beer for £25. Food excellent, service fantastic with tentative staff who were always smiling and friendly. A great atmosphere and one of our go to places in London when we visit!
"A great blend of old and new at the bar. We only stopped in for a quick drink, but really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient—would definitely return!"
The signature "Fish and Chips" as well as the shortcrust pork and apple pie were incredible. Good vibes here, the staff are quick to serve and the owner is a gentleman. The toilets are also top Notch. Highly recommend.
Had the fish and chips afternoon tea and the food and service from the staff were both amazing. Will definitely be coming back
I arranged to have afternoon tea here for my mums 65th birthday. There were 9 of us and we were all so pleased with the everything. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. The cocktails were really nice too and they offered to make any others that were not on the menu. The venue itself was really nicely decorated and clean. We will definitely come back, such a good find!! Thank you
Food was really tasty, we ordered “The Russian” and “The Gatsby Sub”. Had their “Coco Loco” mocktail too, which was delicious! Service in there was fantastic, always checking if we needed anything else and everyone was very friendly.
We stopped in to have lunch after doing the TootBus hop-on, hop-off tour. We had the chicken sandwich and it tasted great. I had the lemonade mocktail drink that was delicious as well. Service was great as there were only two servers and they tended to everyone in an ample amount of time.
Great experience at afternoon tea. Tasty food was plentiful. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The price was great, especially for the amount of food that we received. Large selection of teas, and a very delicious hot chocolate.
Bbar is fire 🔥. My wife and I came for a late night bite. The lights were dim which made it cozy. With me being vegetarian, I ordered the Dirty Vegan and lemme tell ya... Just MUAH! Paired with the fries, a match made in heaven. My wife ordered the lobster spaghetti which was also tasty. I'd recommend this place to anybody.
One of the best meals I ever had ! The apple pie with the ice-cream is amazing and we were very well served !
Best service and food I have ever received. It was a pleasure to spend the last day of my 20s dining here. The food was excellent 5 star all round. Friendly, polite and patient.
What a find!! I took my husband here for his birthday this afternoon. We had the Fish and chips afternoon tea and it was beautiful. Staff were attentive and explained everything. The food came quickly and all very delicious. From the fish and chips to the variety of cakes and then the scones with jam and clotted cream. There was also a large variety of hot drinks from different teas to coffees and hot chocolate. You could have as many hot drinks as you like. We were full afterwards. Well worth the money. The whole experience was fantastic. Well done Bbar. Our bill was over the price per head because we had 4 cocktails!
A night you won’t forget! This was such a buzzy and vibrant evening. Shelley is a true artist and an excellent host. Fun, group friendly and a laugh. Thanks Shelley :)
We had a great meal, wonderful service here! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Service was fast and friendly, highly recommend.
The staff are amazing, the food and drinks just as good! The staff looked after us so well and were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. Such a beautiful venue as well.
The Caesar salad with chicken showed up ready to impress. The romaine was crisp, the dressing perfectly creamy and tangy, and the chicken so tender it practically bragged about it. Every bite felt balanced and genuinely satisfying. It’s the first salad in ages that made me pause mid-fork and think, “Wow… this is seriously good.”
My partner and I did the sip & paint and afternoon tea here. Despite being the only two booked in for the painting, they honoured the booking and had a great session. Shelly was a fantastic, enthusiastic teacher who was patient with a couple of novices! We were both surprised and delighted with the outcome of our paintings. The only drawbacks was that the session was a little rushed towards the end and that only one drink is included within the package so there’s limited sipping at times. The afternoon tea was delicious with lots of tea options and plenty of food, would recommend.
We were hosted by the wonderful team at Bbar for our staff end of year lunch, with a sip and paint session. We had a large group of over 30 people but Shelley made the painting session look easy. She immediately put everyone at ease and made sure everyone felt comfortable to let their inner artist shine. She was a wonderful host and her enthusiasm was infectious, as was her wonderful colleague Annamaria. For lunch, we had a delicious meal and Ian and his team provided excellent service and the whole event was run smoothly. We had a great space at the back of the restaurant which allowed us to feel like we had a private room, without paying the premium. Thank you so much team Bbar!
Food was great quality, albeit entirely overpriced. The cheese and crackers were hilariously minimal and lackluster for the price. Staff were kind, but also incredibly busy and hard to get a hold of.
Visited here recently and we had a good experience having a nice evening meal. We had a 3 course meal from the pre theatre menu and had ordered the below. 2 People Starters: Cesar Salad, BBQ chicken salad Mains: Vegan burger with chips, traditional fish & chips Desert: Baked vanilla cheese cake, chocolate brownie. The Cesar salad was very nice and so was the BBQ salad although they forgot to put the crispy bacon, which they did later bring after we informed them. The vegan burger wasn't great, perhaps it was me who didn't like it, as options were limited in the menu. My wife certainly enjoyed the fish and chips though. Deserts were nice although we found the cheese cake a little on the tasteless side. Chocolate brownie was nice and could have been nice if it was little more warmer. Overall it's a very nice place and I'm sure the other menus offer a lot more choices. Drinks menu was very good and lots of cocktails, beers, spirits on the menu.
Decent option for burgers if you’re in the area! Chicken burger was great, I wasn’t a fan of the coffee. Overall you are paying extra for the proximity to the palace!
Really nice and friendly staff. it's a mixture of a sports bar and restaurant that also does afternoon tea. The menu is pretty basic, fish and chips, burgers etc, but well cooked and presented. The prices are very reasonable based on the location. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a night out in that part of town without getting ripped off.
I have visited Bbar on a weekday lunchtime and it was only around 50% occupied. There were some larger groups of people having lunch whereas others were on single tables just for a drink, so quite a mix. The atmosphere is quite dark and elegant, with gold and animal print decor. The staff were friendly and you were given a warm welcome. The cocktail menu was extensive, there was not a large food menu, but there was a variety of options that should suit most palettes. The food was cooked well, I'd definitely recommend the salt beef sandwich if you visit as it was the best dish from our selection.
First time there, what a place, was greeted by the waiter ,and shown our table, water was brought to us ,and the menu, we said that we have pre booked and was having the Chip Shop Fish & chips Afternoon Tea , she came back with the right menu, we asked about the tea and she said that Flavoured Rooibos was good 👍 so we had the Sunshine Orange, Totonac Vanilla, and it's our first time to try the tea ,it was very good tea 🍵. The fish & chips ,was 🍟 good, oh the cakes was great 👍, we had a good time and enjoyed the food 😀, A big thanks to all the staff who worked very hard ,and looked after us 😀, will be back there next time ⏲️:)
Randomly stopped in after a day of Palace sight seeing. It's decorated in an African theme and yet it works ok. Alex was out bartender and he was spot on. We were pleasantly entertained with copious drinks, hometown knowledge and all sorts of stories. The food was also very good. In addition, to the other patrons.
DOG FRIENDLY IN LONDON!!! Whenever I'm in town with the pooch we visit Bbar. He always gets treated like royalty. Cocktail are great. Wine selection faultless. Dinner were lovely. Only thing I'd say is that the menu could do with a refresh, but you'd only notice this if you're a regular. The menu is great.
Lovely staff, lovely place, awesome drinks. It only gets 4 stars because mocktails shouldn't be more expensive than actual alcohol in my opinion
Only went in for cocktails - the menu was extensive and the 2 we chose were great! The service was a little slow, but friendly and would not stop me from returning
First time visiting this place. It was nice. Food quite expensive though, but I should imagine this would be expected for its location because it's in central London Very handy if you are going to the theater nearby Varied menu Nice food It's a shame they stick a service charge on. I was unaware of this I was told this is pretty standard
We tried the South African afternoon tea. It was delicious. There was nothing I didn't like. Service was excellent. Toilets were disgusting but I told the staff and they quickly fixed that problem. I would recommend this place
Had afternoon tea, fixed price, good deal for the the price. The savory bites were delicious, the scones were great but the sweets were meh. Note if you have a group of 4+ then you can add a glass of prosecco for free.
I had booked a table in advance. The food was not bad. Onion rings and fries were good. The buttermilk chicken burger was ok, but the breading was too heavy and fat. Staff was nice and cocktail was good.
We stopped here spontaneously and unfortunately left with a bitter taste in our mouths. Compared to other places we had visited in London, the price-performance ratio here was not good at all. We found the presumed owner to be very nice and were served quickly. But we were truly incredulous at how small the portions of the double cheese burger and tacos we ordered were for what we paid. For £15, I got two small tacos that were eaten in 3-4 bites. In addition, the tacos left a strange aftertaste that lingered for hours. Only the schnitzel portion was reasonably adequate, so I ate there to get halfway full. All of this would have been maybe acceptable, but when we saw that a 15% service charge had actually been added to the bill, our mood was completely ruined. In my opinion, service charges are an unacceptable concept anyway, something we - luckily - don't have in our country, but 15% on top of the already high price for such a small meal didn't feel right to us at all and actually bothered us for the rest of the day. It was the highest service charge I have ever paid in London. Finally it's not a high-end restaurant in terms of atmosphere and food, where you would be willing to pay so much for so little.
We had the afternoon tea. The food was very mediocre, with the pistachio pastries having nauseatingly bland and fatty cream filling. Brioche buns instead of finger sandwiches is interesting, but the method of filling them is absurd. It was far too much bread compared to the toppings.
On October 13th I stopped in here for a drink at the bar. It was very quiet on the afternoon of my visit and I was seated and served promptly. All I ordered was one pint of cider. I paid with a Mastercard Credit card. When I returned home from my trip I was shocked to see that my statement said that I was charged $33.00! This certainly seems like a very excessive price for one pint of cider! My credit card does not charge me a foreign transaction fee, and I had no other issues with the many other transactions I made while in London. I know that the receipt I was given was correct, and I am sorry I didn't keep it, because now I can't dispute the charge.
