Such an amazing experience ♥️ will definitely go back but with more people next time! Food portions are definitely made to be shared but the staff were so nice and packed up what we couldn't eat for us to have later 🥰 Shout out to : the venison tartare, the radish just complimented it so well and was so unexpected 🤍 And the tarte tatin for a fabulous way to end the meal

This place was above and beyond our expectations. The mains are meant for sharing, but you can choose individual starters and desserts. There is a nice vibe with dimmed lights and table candles. The waitress was very professional and polite and the manager is very knowledgeable with wines and very friendly. They treated us so well and made us feel so welcome. There is a beautiful wine list but also interesting choices by the glass. Absolutely wonderful experience.

Just been to this wonderful restaurant again a few times this summer 2023 and their food is constantly inventive and superb in every way ! The latest artichoke starter was simple and yummy !!Another wonderful new dish ! Scallops in sesame pastry with bonitos shavings . Wonderful Went there twice since the ease down and the food is EXQUISITE for me and all my guests. Ambiance wonderful since they have built this elegant conservatory and you feel safe and sheltered from the weather at the same time. All the starters are so tasty and hearty. The wild garlic gnocchi was special. The mains with the Sea Bass in pastry , the Chateaubriand, the Veal out of this world. The tarte-Tatin a superb finish. Alex the sommelier introduced the best red Unlitro and the most interesting Banyuls. The serving team are like warm and wonderful friends to greet you back to normality in these times. Thank you David, Alex, Chloe, Pauline and Adel!. Patrick

Visited here for the first time yesterday with husband and absolutely loved it. It’s a cute French brasserie designed restaurant hidden away in a park which you have to venture across to get through. Service was 10/10, all of the servers we interacted with were knowledgable, polite and attentive. The food was also incredible, we had a lobster and chickpea starter with a pate, sea bass en croute to share and a strawberry and cream dessert. We both said we’re planning on coming back soon to try more from the menu! The only very slight negative is that all of the mains and some of the desserts are to ‘share’ which is fine but portions are for 3-4 people, they’re huge, far too big for a couple. We ended up having to take half of the sea bass home. Portion sizes for all courses for a single person would be much more preferable in my opinion to save waste and just to be able to enjoy a few more courses. We still loved it nevertheless, it’s a little gem of a restaurant.

Honestly 10/10 - we went with our kids and friends; it was possibly the most delicious, stress-free dining experience with kids we have had yet. The kids enjoyed their chicken and chips and then ran off to play in the playground, which was fully visible from our table, leaving us to enjoy yummy cocktails and food, whilst always keeping a watchful eye on our kids! The kids enjoyed the freedom this set up gave them, and we enjoyed the freedom this set up gave us... The epitome of a win - win parent and child dining experience!!! A restaurant must-visit with kids on a non-rainy weekend! We have been raving about it to all our parent friends, we will be back for sure!

Recommended by a friend who has visited many times, and it did not disappoint. We had two starters that were light yet full of flavour. The shared main course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked fish and flavourful fillings. The sauce was also the highlight. We ordered two desserts — one sharing dessert that we loved, and the Galette des Rois, which is only available in early January and was a real highlight. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive and efficient throughout, even when the restaurant became busy. Despite the pouring rain, the restaurant was almost full, so booking ahead is definitely recommended. Overall, we had a fantastic birthday evening with excellent food made from quality ingredients and outstanding service. Highly recommended.

Delicious. We're casse-croûte regulars but it was fully booked, they suggested pique-nique and it did not disappoint. The sauce on the chou farci was perfection, the service was great, the wine excellent. I need to go back in a group so we can try more things (the main are big I think ideal to share between 4).

Super lovely place by Bermondsey street, not too crowded or busy like other restaurants and a lovely ambience! Also such great service and food - definitely on the pricey side but it was worth it for a treat! Also the House Spritz was 11/10, best spritz I’ve had in a while, better than the typical Aperol Spritz!! ✨✨🍻

Great food and a wonderfully French restaurant. Menu for mains are a sharing menu and don’t take that lightly!!! I think one starter between two then a main would still have leftovers. We enjoyed every course and the indigestion from eating too much was worth it.

Had such a lovely time at this hidden gem. The restaurant has a wide ranging wine list with the availability to have various sizes : carafe and bottles. The food was also delicious. We had a salad with soup, scallops and artichoke and then venison for a main course. The sharing concept at the restaurant is done really well with good recommended dishes from the staff as well as portion control! As you can see from the images the food was delicious and cooked well. Lovely clean bathrooms as well which is always appreciated. Would really recommend this restaurant if you're in the area

Was a lovely experience here, being next to a kids play area I expected it to be noisy but wasn’t . We had the pigeon dish in pastry which was amazing and came over wtih bacon and peas, along with gravy and another side. Even for 2 people it was a lot and I had to take some home. Stayed to have cheese which was a very nice ending to a good meal. Alice our serve was great, knowledgable about the food and wine .

We initially got bumped from the sister restaurant because our group was a large one, which would mean we would take up half the restaurant….But it turned out to be a great experience. The host was gracious, funny and kept the drinks and food flowing. 3 key points 1. Try Pique-Nique instead of Casse-croute (if you have a bigger group) as it is a better vibe, more spacious and a more beautiful setting, slower paced vibe which makes it a hidden gem. Casse-croute (if you are a smaller group and you enjoy French style, people watching. 2. Try the fish - looks and tastes delicious 3. Menu changes per season - so my recommendations could be outdated. However, regardless of what you choose, you can’t go wrong by asking for recommendations or trying a few small plates.

Lovely restaurant with either seating within the restaurant or in the conservatory. We had the escargot croquettes and squid with squid ink for starters, rotisserie chicken for mains and didn't have room for dessert. The food was delicious! The service was attentive and good. Thank you!

My beloved restaurant in London! The moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into France. The food is excellent, the wines are absolutely amazing, and the service is always warm and super friendly. They make the most unusual sauce for mussels — I just can’t get enough of it! While they recommend pairing it with white wine, I personally think red works even better, as the sauce is warm, rich, and slightly sweet.

Excellent neighbourhood restaurant. Fantastic food with excellent service- really friendly and well informed. Dog friendly too! Note: they only do sharing mains (which are great!) but you need to make sure in a couple you both like or dislike the same thing!!!

Had dinner with my friend on Wednesday. He goes here for 8 years and now I know why. Food was absolutely amazing, even Michelin star restaurants sometimes don’t have such great dishes. Our server Alice (hopefully I heard your name right, sorry if not) did amazing job. She was so lovely and chose for us one of the best wines I ever had. I see high qualification and good service👏 100% I’m coming back to you, guys.

What can I say about this place. Have been visiting for years now, not very often to be honest but every time the experience is unique. The menu is a bit pricey but bare in mind that the mains are for sharing, so there is no way you leave the place hungry. The flavours of both food and wine are amazing and desserts are fantastic too. Cozy little place that always makes us feel welcome.

Great food, great service, and standout wine. It's clear that a lot of love and attention has gone into everything, and the knowledge and enthusiasm of the staff is infectious. There were three of us, which worked out well for the large shared main. Definitely the best Monday night dinner I've had for some time.

Both Pique-Nique and sister restaurant Casse Croute are amazing. I dined alone at the bar and was well taken care of. The food is divine!

We got a table for two at short notice (day before) to celebrate a birthday in romantic, luxurious style and were SO glad we picked Pique-Nique. Our reservation was just before sunset which meant incredible views of the Shard over the park as we supped aperitifs. Incredible cocktails. Then we moved on to the main event, eg the food and it was amazing. Can't attempt to describe how good it was but both in our forties and agreed we've never had anything as good. We had the scallops to start, then chicken, then a dulche de leche, sorbet, and chocolate tuile. At every step the restauranteur/maître d' was there, suggesting without being manipulative, informative without being intrusive. Please do yourself a favour and go. Just not when we plan our return visit!

This place is fabulous. The staff were fantastic, knowledgeable, and fun. We had the steak and lamb mains which were amazing but the starters and desserts were just as outstanding. Great for a group. Would highly recommend and go back!

Still one of my best restaurants in London. Great consistency in the food....never ever disappointed. The team is great. One slight thing though...do not pour my wine...I like to be in control on how much I drink. But I will come back...again and again. Keep up with the great work guys.

So friendly. They were especially pleasant and kind to our little dog. Waiter described each item on the menu in such wonderful detail! It’s so cozy and beautiful inside. The food blows our socks off every time we come. Always love coming here.

Outstanding food, overall good service, probably the best French food in town or at least one of the best. Main course to share are generous quantity which means you are not hungry when you live the place. However, the place is incredibly loud which make it difficult to talk. Also it is very pricy as the quality is there, count 100 euros per person for 1 entrance and 1 dessert for 2 and a shared main, with pairing wines

We visited Pigue-Nique for Sunday lunch and we were pleasantly impressed with the service, location and French bistro food. Definitely an hidden gem of Bermondsey Getting to Pigue-Nique was super easy. Parking is plentiful so it was easy to park up with a parking station just behind the restaurant. Street parking is free on Sundays. Service was top notch !! Friendly staff and cosy family friendly environment with a play area right in front for the young ones !! We enjoyed our lunch and wine while the kids played in the play area !! Food was amazing. We had the pate, ravioli, gnocchi and roast chicken. The roast chicken was definitely the highlight of the day. Was well cooked and super juicy accompanied with amazing sauce and baby potatoes .. it was just melted in your mouth ;-) We also had a great selection of wine by the glass. Waiter was well knowledgable on the wines and pick a perfect dry white to accompany our roast chicken. Dessert was just delightful!! All of us had the chocolate soufflé and it was perfectly done !! Love the dark chocolate sauce and dark chocolate ice cream. Check out the rise in the pictures ;-) We will definitely be back for more :-)

Had our first anniversary dinner here. (initially we wanted to go to ‘Casse Croute’ which was nearby, but it was impossible without reservation) At first the outside seatings looked a bit crude, but with flowers on every table and small light bulbs were making the ambience better. Food and service was impeccable!

What a lovely chilled and relaxed French restaurant. Great to sit out in the conservatory on summer nights. Great tasting food with a really great wine selection also.

Came here just for dessert, but ended getting starters as well. Really good plates, amazing Clafoutis. And real great wine quality. The service is unique, so personal and superior! Thank you to the team. Will come back for sure!

I went here for dinner recently, the food was outstanding and incredibly tasty. The service was very good, and it is always nice to sit outside in the conservatory when the weather is warm. Overall it is one of my favourite spots to go for dinner in the city and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to dine in the city.

Amazing food. Great wine. And a pleasant location with a view of the Shard. You really can't go wrong here! Mains are meant to be shared. We had the sweetbreads as a starter and saddle of lamb as a main, both of which were perfection. Will definitely be returning!

A truly wonderful dinner. A quick walk from my daughters flat. The greenhouse was inviting and well appointed with lighting. A taste of a french chateau! We had the mussels and scallops appetizers. The meal was Roasted Chicken/frites and Chateaubriand/scalloped potatoes accompanied by a mixed greens salad. Everything was prepared exceptionally, and the staff was extremely helpful with direction. An fabulous Languedoc that worked with the whole meal. Dessert was a souffle that was bright and airy. A memorable meal to celebrate . Thanks for accommodating gluten free naturally with our choices (save for the scallop appetizer). 5 stars all around.

Having tried their sister restaurant a while ago, it was evident that we had to try this one too: and we absolutely LOVED it. For starters we had the pate and white asparagus before sharing the lamb shoulder which were all incredibly delicious. With the sun out, the terrace was the perfect setting for a good way to end the day.

Full review on my insta: kfoodarchive Went here for a birthday celebration. The vibe & food were great overall, everything was delicious except the sirloin recommended by the staff, which came medium well/ well, really dry and tough to eat. Service was great at the start, the staff explained every item on the menu and recommended a special wine to pair with the food for us. However, as the restaurant became busy, it was hard for us to get any service.

C

We came here for dinner and between the three of us, for the starters we shared the pate en croute, scallops and the beetroot tart (all very nice), for the main we shared the coulibiac (the overall dish was nice but some of the layers were underseasoned and some a little salty) and the apple beignet for dessert (really yum). We liked the atmosphere in the conservatory and the service was very good. The waiter was very thorough in explaining the menu, knowledgeable and friendly. I also thought it was good value for money given the quality and quantity of food.

We don’t usually visit this restaurant, even though it’s close to our house, because it’s always busy and not the best option when dining with a toddler, despite the park being nearby. This time, we started with the mussels and burrata, which were excellent—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the chicken, which was high quality, but I didn’t particularly enjoy it. It came with French fries and a salad, though the salad was underwhelming—just a few leaves with some olive oil and vinegar, not very flavorful. For dessert, I had the pistachio cream, and it was the highlight of the meal—absolutely delicious and a great choice. The staff were also friendlier this time compared to our last visit. Overall, while I’m still undecided, I think I’d opt for the beef next time instead of the chicken.

Really delicious food with great service and atmosphere. The steak was definitely the highlight of the dinner for me, and the seabass Wellington was very special indeed - not something you can eat anywhere else so do give it a try! Best shared among at least 4-5 people as the portions for main dishes are huge and are designed for sharing.

W

The overall atmosphere and food were enjoyable. Most dishes were excellent, but unfortunately, the chateaubriand was a bit of a letdown as it was hardly warm and slightly dry, possibly due to being left out too long. The service was commendable; the staff were attentive and took the time to explain each menu item

M
Marcus Hall

Lovely setting and a really nice design within the restaurant. French cuisine, the fish wellington (I can’t remember the proper French name for this dish) (forgive me) was the stand out dish. The fish fritters to start were too oily to eat sadly. Waitress was very friendly.

I
Irene Symeonidou

Great French food and atmosphere. However, the service does not match the standard and the quality of the food. The veal chop was excellent, would strongly recommend it. The souffle for dessert was a little disappointing. Would recommend it if you are in the area for some nice french food but be prepared for medium to bad service.

T
Tonia Pontiki

Absolutely incredible food! All dishes are full of flavour, generous portions and great presentation. Delicious! Very nice environment as well, we sat in the conservatory and it was really pretty and romantic with the fairy lights. However, I have to say that the food is very similar to Casse Croute, its sister restaurant, and Casse Croute is more authentic french bistro environment and slightly better prices, even though both on the costlier side. But worth for special occasions, unbelievable food!

When I mean a hidden gem, I really mean a hidden gem. It was a restaurant found by a colleague at work. He said, you really should try this restaurant. It's amazing. So I organised a small party of 6 and off we went. We arrived at the restaurant late but greeted at the door by our waiter smiling and showed us to our table cracking jokes. Be warned its a lovely tight and cosy restaurant and tables are very close. The restaurant has outdoor seating areas which are close to the children play area, so excellent for families. Inside there's a lovely view of the open kitchen and view of the wine stock on the wall. My colleagues loved the wine, the recommendation from our waiter was spot on (I do love a waiter that knows their wine list and is great with pairing wine and food). The food unbelievable, every mouthful of food left a pleasing smile and the look of sheer delight with a little sound of "mmmm" as they swallowed the food. Some of us had steak, I and a few colleagues had Black Leg Chicken (awesome ❤). Our waiter gave a small chat about each of the food on the menu and the Provence of the chicken (nice touch). We didn't want the mains to end, so what we did and not to be disappointed on missing out on good food. We each shared our main course around our table. Then came the dessert, many had a chocolate dessert. I recommend the soufflé (oh my God) WOW...I had everyone jumping into my seat to get at the soufflé (everyone had dessert envy) I was not going to share. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 WELL DONE... GREAT SERVICE GREAT FOOD GREAT WINE Recommendation Black Leg Chicken and Soufflé

Loved this place! In a quirky location, in a park overlooking tennis courts; beautifully light interior; great food; great service. Yes, the menu is in French but they explain it. The chicken tasting menu was interesting and, at times, outstanding. It was certainly plenty of food and great value. The peach soufflé for pudding was unbelievably good.

M
Mariano Russo

Really nice food with good quality ingredients. Pate en croute was delicious, chicken was decent but a bit dry; overall a good meal with the sauce. Millefouille was top. Service on the other site was disappointing, not present, what was impacting as the manager not really up to lead the service and being focus on their costumers. We find a fly in a salad, which can definitely happen and when we mention everyone seems upset with us, we didn’t complain, we just make them aware of it.

Our evening at Pique Nique unfolded much like Sergio Leone’s epic film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. This culinary showdown had its fair share of heroes, villains, and—yes—some extras that probably should have stayed out of frame altogether. Allow me to introduce you to the cast and set the stage for our evening: The Cast: - Crispy Egg, Corn Purée, Girolles: A plucky opener, full of promise. - Stonebass Ceviche: A dish of intrigue… perhaps. - Raviolo: Mysterious and bold. - Burrata and Roasted Pumpkin: Charming, but blink, and you’ll miss it. - Chateaubriand, Crispy Potato, Bordelaise Sauce: The proclaimed hero. - Duck Mallard, Smoked Polenta, Grand Veneur Sauce: A gamble. - Fig Tart: A hopeful crowd-pleaser. - Mille-Feuille Mont Blanc: A decadent final act. The Good Crispy Egg: An unexpected twist in our appetizer lineup, the egg was crispy, golden, and filled with personality. However, its supporting cast, the girolles, were so bland they could’ve been cardboard stand-ins—barely deserving a place in the ensemble. Fig Tart: Now here’s where Pigue Nique found its true star. The fig tart was flawless, a scene-stealer, the kind of dish that could win an Oscar. It was devoured in record time—a clear victor in this evening’s tale. Mille-Feuille Mont Blanc: A gorgeous stack of delicate, crispy layers. But alas, the chestnut cream tasted like it had forgotten its lines, leaving us searching for the nutty essence that was meant to anchor the performance. The Bad Stonebass Ceviche: Not fresh, dry, and drowned by its vegetables, this dish had all the drama of a cactus in a drought. It lacked the brightness we’d expected, leaving it about as enticing as tumbleweed. Raviolo: This one waltzed onto the stage with Roquefort as its weapon of choice. Unfortunately, the flavor was so intense, it left the dish about as subtle as a bar brawl—an overly aggressive flavor that needed a gentler touch. Burrata and Pumpkin: A charming idea, but with burrata so minimal it felt like a cameo role. If you squint at the photo, you might spot a dot of cheese hiding among the pumpkin, as if it had no intention of being noticed. Chateaubriand: Billed as the star, but bland as a brick wall. The crispy potato stole the spotlight, leaving us wondering if it had somehow overshadowed the supposed lead. We didn’t even get a say in how it was cooked—“medium rare French style,” they insisted, with a shrug that brokered no argument. Alright, if you say so! The Ugly Duck Mallard: This was a twist we didn’t see coming—and not in a good way. Our duck arrived so rare, it looked like it had barely survived the final shootout. Bright red and bloody, it could’ve doubled as a special effect. The smoked polenta, meanwhile, just hovered in the background like an extra with nothing much to do. The Final Scene As for the manager, they played the role of the surly bartender, taking our feedback with the grace of a disgruntled gunslinger. Points for the gesture of comping a few dishes from the bill, though—it was a partial truce in what felt like an otherwise dramatic finale. Would I return to Pique Nique for another screening? Only if they rewrite the script a little. Until then, I’ll be riding off into the sunset in search of a meal with a bit more grit and a lot more gusto.

Very disappointed Duck was tasteless and chewy, not tender in the least We asked the waiter how many scallops, be said one and a bit. He wasn't joking. Over £20 for one and a bit scallops. The duck breast and pastry with braised duck and foie gras was poor. Duck was chewy and braised duck with foie gras was very rich, sickly. Portion was small. £73 for this was daylight robbery. We really regretted the choice. Souffle was good. The location is odd. Embedded in the middle of a car park, small green and social housing. Cute internals. The restaurant was obnoxiously loud, to the point where it was challenging to hear each other with normal volume speech. Service was efficient but not attentive, with the occasional pass by. Overall a really disappointing experience. Excessive prices for the quality of the food. Much better restaurants in the area. Try a different place and avoid disappointment.
