Had the Punjabi samosa chat, dal tarka, and the lamb dish. And the Himalayan ghosht handi. All of the dishes were excellent as was the Paratha. Will be back.

We visited the restaurant for my wife's birthday, and I had high expectations based on reviews. The venue is very nice (an old fire station) with a good atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and professional. The food looked great and was very tasty. Just right for me. Very flavoursome, but not overly spicy. Would recommend and would visit again.

This is from Saudi Eats in London, with 90k+ followers across social platforms. Instagram & Tiktok: saudieats.ksa Dining here felt less like a meal and more like being invited into a carefully curated story. Helmed by a Michelin award–winning chef, this restaurant is among the most exclusive culinary experiences we’ve had in a long time. Set within a historic fire station, the space itself is steeped in character—every corner whispering echoes of the past, beautifully reimagined. The cuisine goes far beyond what one might expect from Indian dining. Thoughtful, inventive, and deeply rooted in technique, each dish reflects true mastery rather than mere flair. The à la carte menu was a revelation—grilled scallops, seabream, and shrimp prepared with such finesse that every bite lingered long after the plate was cleared. Creative yet comforting, bold yet balanced, this is the kind of place where tradition meets imagination seamlessly. An unforgettable experience and an ideal destination for festive-season indulgence. ✨

We booked through First Table and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff at Yaatra were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Each dish—from the starters to the mains and dessert—was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. I’d definitely recommend Yaatra and First Table for anyone looking to enjoy an exceptional dining experience at a great value.

had an amazing meal I have come up from Manchester with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day and had the best service ever by our server Monash (I think that’s how you spell it apologies if not) he was very on it and aware so thank you very much Monash. The food was absolutely unreal and the drinks were outstanding. Price is very just a fireball and the toilets were very clean the whole building was very nicely decorated and clean. Will definitely be coming back here if we come to London again.

Fabulous experience! Manager Pravin warmly welcomed us and immediately made us feel that we had arrived at the right place. Waitress Divita was attentive, polite, very professional and super efficient. We could not have asked for better service. All dishes were delicious. We chose the vegetarian and the seafood lunch. Each dish was a visual and culinary delight. The mango lassi was lusciously thick and not too sweet. We had a most delightful lunch and will be taking sweet memories with us. A big THANK YOU to Divita, Pravin and all the kitchen staff. Highly recommended.

A fantastic indian restaurant near Victoria station, London. Nice and cosy indian atmosphere in an old fire station, and the food was probably the best indian I have ever tasted. Very well presented and authentic, but also a little more creative than many other indian restaurants. The staff was very kind and friendly. I will definitely visit this restaurant again on my next visit to London.

I recently dined at Yaatra Indian Restaurant in London, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was both elegant and welcoming, with a modern take on traditional Indian decor that set the perfect tone for a refined yet comfortable evening. We ordered 5 starter 5 main few drinks, 2 desserts Top service by Abhishek, The food was the true highlight—expertly crafted dishes that showcased authentic Indian flavors with a contemporary twist. Each course was beautifully presented, and the spices were balanced with precision. From starters to mains, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Standouts included the [insert a couple of favorite dishes if you remember them, like lamb chops, tandoori prawns, or a signature curry], which delivered bold, rich flavors without being overpowering. Service was attentive and warm throughout the meal. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. It’s clear the team at Yaatra takes pride in delivering not just a meal, but a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or a place to enjoy high-quality Indian cuisine in London, Yaatra is definitely worth a visit. I’m already looking forward to going back.

The best Indian food I've ever had. Tasty, not heavy, and beautifully presented. I forgot the name of the appetizer but the picture is below. I got seabream and shrimp for my main. Both plates were delicious! The service was also excellent.

Today I had some of the BEST! Indian food ever! It was truly delicious and it was very well prepared and well put together especially the dessert which looked like a famous painting which was very delicious. The waiters there were beyond amazing they were excellent they were extremely kind and caring they poured me water a bunch of times they provided some of the best Indian drinks I’ve ever tasted it was like tasting paradise and it was very beautiful with some flowers and a dried lime on top I want to also thank you to our amazing waiter Abhishek who was an amazing waiter so shoutout to him for making our first experience the best! Also the restaurant its self was memorizing because of the beautiful restaurant landscape they even had a mini map of the beautiful country of India which I loved! If you love Indian food I would 100% recommend you come here while you are in London!

We dined at Yaatra last night as a group of 12 and had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely amazing, beautifully presented and full of flavour across every dish. We were seated in a private dining room, which made the evening feel even more special and was perfect for a group dinner. Service was excellent throughout: attentive, professional, and very welcoming without being intrusive. What really sets Yaatra apart is the venue itself, an old fire station transformed into a restaurant. The history and character of the building add something truly unique to the experience. Highly recommend for corporate dinners or special occasions. We’ll definitely be back.

Newly renovated and reopened in a historic former fire station in London, Yaatra aims to please. Beautiful space, welcoming staff for the whole family, helpful and prompt service and delicious food. The bar menu is creative and fun as well. Abhishek and Nabina took such great care of us. Our family from age 10-50 all enjoyed our special evening. The portions are plentiful, and go ahead and place two orders for the naan because one order won’t last. Thanks Yaatra team!

A very enjoyable dining experience at Yaatra. The restaurant has relaunched with a new menu catered by Chef Negi. The dining room is spread over two floors and is tastefully decorated with Damask wallpaper. The A La Carte menu is well conceived and offers a range of regional Indian cuisine. The starters were all very good especially the Cheema Samoas, the Scallops, the Momo and the Kokani Crab. The mains were also excellent especially the Lamb Biryani, the Lamb Curry and the Sea Bream. The service was good with very attentive waiting staff. A special mention for Manish our waiter who was not only attentive but also friendly and helpful. Top marks for the overall service. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and had an enjoyable evening. If you enjoy Indian cuisine then this is a must visit. An ideal location for a meal with family, friends and business colleagues.

Sometimes, very rarely, you find a place worth a journey, this is it. Indian food, hospitality and environment like nowhere else. Not the cheapest but well worth every pence. And a special thanks to Anousha, to forget an extra glas of wine for ten minutes is of no importance when it is settled with a swift excuse and a smile. Thank you!

As we are vacationing in Victoria to experience all of London, we heard that Indian food in London is close if not on point with India cuisine. It was time to experience the cuisine from a top rated restaurant and let my kids experiment with the flavors. Yaatra and our server, Abhishek, and the kitchen did not disappoint! Started with pappadums, paneer shalik, chicken Tikka, and calamari pankora. All amazing and my picky eater loved the paneer. My seafood kiddo didn't share much of the calamari and the sauce with the rest of us. Dinner was Sea Bream & Prawns and One Whistle Chicken... Share at the table. We didn't leave any scraps behind. Service staff was accommodating and answered all our questions. Highly recommended! For the drinkers, Smoked Old Fashion with a twist!

The food was spectacular. The menu offered a wonderful selection of authentic dishes. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan and it was absolutely amazing. The spices were perfectly balanced, the meat was incredibly tender, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The dish truly tasted authentic and fresh. Beyond the incredible cuisine, the service really made the evening special. Attentive and friendliest service.

Based in an old fire station, with a stunning internal aesthetic, Yaatra instantly overpowers you with a welcoming atmosphere. The front of house staff are incredibly friendly and polite, and the spices that gently waft towards your nose as you walk through the door are a teaser of the enjoyment to come. The menu is exquisite, and the dishes that arrive were all fantastic - even the familiar basics like steamed rice and the Lauki and Cucumber Yoghurt were delicious. All the dishes looked incredible, and I will definitely be coming again to explore the rest of the menu! And a special shout-out to Abhieshek who served us excellently throughout the night - he made a fantastic evening even better. Overall, I would definitely recommend Yaatra for a lovely meal out!

I had the pleasure of dining at Yaatra yesterday, and it was a culinary journey like no other. Their take on modern Indian cuisine was both innovative and authentic, merging traditional flavors with contemporary flair. Every dish was a testament to the outstanding craftsmanship of the chefs, and every bite left us yearning for more. The ambiance of the place was equally enchanting, enhancing our overall dining experience. But what truly set the evening apart was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their attentive and gracious service ensured that we savored every moment and every drink. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking to explore the wonders of modern Indian cuisine in a delightful setting!

I love Indian food, and my partner is from West India, so we were really happy to stumble across this restaurant on a wander around St James on a Friday evening. We were impressed with the dishes we ordered - perhaps not 100% authentic (the paratha wasn’t quite the same as the local version) but none the less was delicious. Would eat here again when in the vicinity. Good atmosphere and excellent service

I visited on 20.01.2024. Lovely restaurant, quite spacious. The main restaurant on the ground floor with three additional rooms for private bookings. We were in the basement as we had a large group. We ordered from the set menu. The food was cooked well, and tasty 😋 presentation was spectacular. good sides portions. Customer service was on point. The washroom is kept very clean. No, we're to park so your best bet is public transport or cab.

I went to Yaatra to celebrate my husbands birthday. We got the timeout offer for 3 courses, a cocktail and a canape and petit four for £29.50 per person The cocktail was outstanding and we both loved the taste. For starters we had the lamb boti kebab and chaat dish. For mains we had the fish masala fry and the kolrabhi and for dessert we had the sorbet and the gulab jamun. The starters were delicious and full of flavour. We both really liked our main dishes but I preferred the fish. I found the gulab jamun a bit too sweet for my liking but the parfait it came with was delicious and so was the sorbet. The canape was a single pani puri and the petit fours was a piece of Turkish delight each. My husband was also given a complimentary piece of carrot halwa cheesecake which was delicious. He also does not consume gluten and the chef accommodated this by making modifications to his meal choices. Our waiter was Kunal, he was friendly and attentive and explained each dish well. Overall was a great experience and we would recommend this restaurant to others

We were looking for a nice restaurant to have a celebratory meal and came across Yaatra on the Michelin guide. The booking process was quick and easy online and true to the standards it upholds, the restaurant didn't fail to deliver. We ordered the 2 course set menu and ordered the non veg platter for starters and butter chicken as main course. The only thing we missed to read in fine print was that the platter though listed in the 2 course starter was going to be charged separately. We didn't mind, though, as it was truly delectable! The flavours were on point, and the service was amazing. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. They even catered to allergies and were able to curate an allergy free meal for my child. Would definitely recommend this restaurant :)

We keep returning to this restaurant because we have never had a bad meal here! Having tried the most expensive Michelin starred Indian restaurants - where we always found a dish or two that just didn’t hit the mark, we just can’t say the same about this. We tried the set menu this time. The hostess and waiter were both super friendly and accommodating. The starter - chaat, mains including daal, desserts (which were utterly gorgeous and works of art!!) - were faultless. Will be returning for sure!

Yaatra is a real little gem that deserves quite more than the 1 Michelin star it currently has! This was out first Michelin star Indian restaurant and it did not disappoint. The portions and flavors were just so perfect that we will have to visit again when we’re in the UK. We opted for the tasting menu (non-vegetarian) but did not add the wine pairings with each course. If you can manage a glass of wine with each course, most definitely go for that option. The cherry on top of the cake was the professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality of the manager and staff. They also honored a request of providing a small personalized dessert for my husband’s birthday, for which we were very grateful! Yaatra also has 2 smaller dining areas for small parties that are so beautiful and intimate. I wished I lived in the UK when I got married because the space would have been perfect for our small wedding. There is also a lot of interesting history connected to the building, which was previously a fire station! We truly enjoyed everything at the restaurant and are heartily cheering for Yaatra’s second Michelin star! 👏👏

One of the Beat Indian Restaurants in London Atmosphere is great. Clean and upscale Modern Foods are exceptionally good and tasty No complain on food at all. Check my picture on food The lamb was so tender and soft when serve All dishes serve in the right hot temperature Rice is good, Butter. Hi Ken is a must. Chicken is very tender and soft as well not like many places where it’s hard and tough Starters, the Calamari was unusually good We end with the lava Cake and Icecream which is also very good Staff were well trained and very nicely serve. Top quality restaurant Would highly recommend if u happen to want Indian food in town Price is high but it’s quality and location deserved it. Price to Value ratio is good.

The food here was such excellent value I was impressed and will be back. My colleagues and I had the £30 three course set menu (a winter special) and we're universally impressed. The restaurant is somewhat understated but authentic in its location in this old fire station, which has been sympathetically converted while retaining small nods to its history such as the tiles on the walls. I did not appreciate it is recommended by the Michelin guide until arrival. There was an excellent selection of options suitable for vegetarian consumption, all delivered extremely promptly after ordering and with excellent presentation and flavour. The staff were very helpful in recommending pairings and sides as appropriate.

Never not had an impeccable meal here. Perfect spot to treat yourself to modern, well-executed Indian cuisine. Even the cocktails are great, something all south asian restaurants struggle with. The Indian staff need a slight training improvement. A little too pushy on the upselling spiels, which is utterly inappropriate (and embarrassing) for fine dining such as this. Other than that, 10/10!

Possibly the best food I have ever tasted. It’s funny that before we went, I didn’t know what to expect as my wife booked it for my birthday. I just turned up without knowing anything about it. I travel a lot and Iv eaten in some of the best restaurants from around the world. we were discussing that it’s hard to find food that wows anymore. Every dish was perfect. The balance and blends of flavours were just exquisite. The service was attentive but not sharp enough. The atmosphere was ambient and cosy although a little flat. In summary, a culinary masterpiece in a lovely setting. What a gem

Had an amazing experience at Yaatra — the food was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The atmosphere felt elegant but still relaxed, and the staff were really attentive without being overbearing. Every dish had a modern twist on classic Indian flavours, and the cocktails were top tier too. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in London I’ve been to — would 100% go back.

The best indian restaurant I have tried (and I have tried a lot). Went there twice during a one-week stay in London. First having a la carte and the tasting menu the second time. Both options were great, but especially the tasting menu stands out for some truly creative (and tasty) choices and it was a steal for 75 pounds. The cocktails are great as well and serve as a good pairing. A strong recommendation if you are in London.

I've eaten at the finest Indian restaurants across London (Cinnamon Club, Pravaas, Gymkhana, Baluchi) and Yaatra joins Pravaas as the best of the best (based upon my and my daughter's experience). Stunning, faultess food, perfect service and a truly stunning environment. Every course was perfection and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thank you all...

This was by far one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. All the food was amazing, I had the best vegetable biryani - very special. The drinks were also great. The decor, style and atmosphere were very welcoming and comfortable. The evening was made all the more special by Swastika and Manoj, who were very attentive, friendly and kind servers. I can’t wait to go back (very soon).

Today I had the best crab curry of my life….almost the best crab dish ever. It was rich, aromatic and the crab was sweet and nutty. (Konkani Crab). Then the Himalayan Gohst Handi lamb. It was piping hot and served in a clay pot with a heating candle. The layers of flavour were on another level! The Black Cardamom better than I have at home, or had before. Sornali the manageress and her team was very attentive. She explained the history of the building…it gave me goosebumps! This restaurant has a fire in its belly, so it’s very apt that it’s in this beautifully restored fire station. Hats off to the chef who listened to my request to put the heat on. I thoroughly enjoyed crying from happiness. Can’t wait to come here again. And lastly… the portions were generous…Thank you!

Food was lovely! Service was ok we did feel like we were inconveniencing the staff when asking for a drink or asking where the drinks were and this was reciprocated by sometimes being “intentionally ignored”. Being sat in the downstairs area massively affected the service on drinks as we were constantly told the bar was busy upstairs. Which when dining in a restaurant like this isn’t a fair excuse. For example we were served out popadoms and asked to order our mains before we had even received a bottle of still water we had requested. A couple next to us has similar issues and there starters had actually come out before the drinks I heard them remind the waiter multiple times. We did ask to be moved upstairs due to live music being played and my partner is a smoker so takes frequent outside breaks. However we was denied this… told that the singer comes downstairs soon and he did for all of twenty minutes and then continued to enhance the atmosphere upstairs. If you are a big group I would say there is not issue with being sat downstairs. However for a couple like ourselves we would have liked to of had “more going on” instead of listening to large groups conversations and waiting 10-15 minutes every time a drink was ordered. Can’t fault the food but the service wasn’t up to scratch and being sat downstairs felt like you wasn’t involved or important to staff.

We choose this place for our anniversary dinner as it had decent reviews and was advertised as ‘Michelin recommends’ - the food was good undoubtedly as they do a great work on balancing the Indian flavours at the same time adapting to the local taste I.e, not too spicy and yet very flavourful. We loved the starters in particular. However the overall experience was not anything extraordinary. The place didn’t see to give a vibe of a proper fine dine or a Michelin dining experience rather a more casual place to have a nice dinner and not necessarily the one I would chose for special occasions.

Great Indian cuisine in London, the food was amazing, the only issue was that I asked the waiters to keep my food containers , and they just took a small portion from what I had left. The rest was good overall

A

We enjoyed our dinner here. We had a range of dishes and left feeling satisfied. Service was nice and friendly. However, we would caveat that we came here on an offer of 40% off, and based on portion sizes and tastiness of the food, as nice as it was, we likely would not dine again full price.

We visited the restaurant on the eve of Diwali and had the set menu fixed for the event. The meal was nothing short of amazing and the ambience was equally pleasant as well. Pros: All the dishes had an amalgamation of creative presentation and we relished it. The set menu had a good variety as well. Cons: Provided we are quite fond of the lamb being cooked in the Indian style, we found it rather raw here. So I would recommend you think twice before you order, as the lamb had a distinct odour. And if you are going for a set menu option, it’s best to eat a small snack before you go as the wait time between meals can be a bit longer. I can say the restaurant has provided us with the gastronomy as promised and we will visit again. With exception of one dish (lamb), every other aspect was perfect.

V
Vivian Wong

A close 5/5. Pros were the service, attentive and lovely staff, general atmosphere was nice and we absolutely loved the garlic naan bread and turbot and shrimps. Flavours across the board were perfect for us. Cons were that the truffle and cheese naan was unfortunately but let down. Nice fragrances but lacking in truffle flavours and would have preferred a lot more cheese. Roti was also average and lacking flakiness. Echoing other reviews, serving sizes were on the smaller size (lamb biryani was a decent size) for the price paid. Would give desserts a miss but well presented. All in all however, an excellent experience and would recommend as a restaurant for celebration or a special dinner out

Yaatra is a slick affair. Professional staff (leaning more towards calm efficiency than smiley and cuddly) and food that is difficult to fault and yet didn’t necessarily excite me as much as I was hoping for. The venue too is sharp yet sympathetic to its history as a fire station. All in all a solid performance, albeit more Volvo than Lamborghini. Check out the set menus for a good value lunch.

E

The restaurant is in an old fire station and is beautifully decorated. It smelled amazing when we entered and the music was well chosen and not too loud. Service was brilliant - attentive and efficient, and they brought over a free mini brownie with 'happy birthday' written on the plate for my boyfriend's birthday. The food was good, not too heavy or oily like some Indians can be, and it was cool to experience some different dishes, like the Himalayan momos. It's not going to become our new favourite Indian though. The mains weren't anything special for the price and the chicken tikka tandoori was really dry and rubbery. But if you want a light dinner, a selection of the starter dishes would be nice to share among the table - the momos were delicious as were the crab and the poppadoms with chutneys. The house red was also tasty.

Visited Yaatra today and although the food was great I couldn't help but be disappointed. We had originally come across their website showcasing a very tempting 'express lunch menu' for roughly £20 pp for 3 courses. Their main menu was on the pricier side due to their Michelin star chef and was more than we had anticipated spending for a quick lunch. We booked a 'lunch' table online ensuring we were in the time frame for the express lunch but when we arrived, we were handed the a la carte menu with no sign of the lunch menu. I queried this with the server who then brought over a 'set 3 course menu' for £45 , again..not what was displayed online. I then asked the server again who stated they not longer offer the express lunch. This was extremely disappointing and misleading that they are still advertising it online. We then didnt have the heart to leave and so we chose to eat from the normal menu which resulted in a bill for £99 instead of the £40ish we were expecting (we shared a starter, 2 curries, 1 rice and 1 naan). The food was undoubtedly tasty however the portions of protein were underwhelming considering the price. I couldn't fault the service and the setting was beautiful. Overall, we did enjoy the meal but feel mislead and definitely something people should consider if on a budget

⭐️ Review for Yaatra Restaurant – Visit on Saturday 29th November 2025, 7pm We chose Yaatra as a central meeting point, with all of us travelling in from different parts of the UK, and its location near Victoria Station is genuinely ideal. The food was the highlight of the evening – beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and fairly reasonable for central London. The chefs truly deserve credit for that. The overall atmosphere, however, felt a little off. The service didn’t create the warm or welcoming experience you would expect from a restaurant of this standard. The team seemed quite dismissive and rather inattentive, and even moments of politeness came across as a little insincere. It also felt surprisingly difficult to get something as simple as table water, with a strong push towards bottled water instead. Although the décor is lovely, the mood in the restaurant didn’t feel particularly joyous. The staff appeared quite flat, as if they were going through the motions, which affected the overall feel of the evening. In summary, the food was excellent, yet the atmosphere and service didn’t match it. I’m glad we experienced it once, though I wouldn’t return. The kitchen team shines, though the service side needs a real lift to match the quality coming from the chefs.

Food was decent (had better elsewhere), environment was ambient and the location is accessible. And that's where the positives stop. We were greeted and sat down at the table to order food. 2 of us were content with set menu items and one wanted a la carte. Nothing was mentioned when menu was handed but when ordering, it was mentioned that everyone on the table should either order set menu or a la carte, not both, which I found unnecessary. It put everyone in an uncomfortable position and forced one person to choose from set menu, when they wanted something else. This also meant they lost extra revenue as a la carte order would've incurred better revenue than set menu order, but hey ho, works in our favour of saving money. In the set menu, the mains are accompanied with daal, naan and rice. And since three set menu orders were placed, we expected three of each accompaniment. However, once the mains arrived, they only gave us two of each accompaniments and explained that it was a sharing accompaniment. At no point was sharing mentioned anywhere in the set menu and I felt it was slightly scamming of them to withhold one set of accompaniments, until I had to make a fuss about it and ask them to properly serve us. I'm sure they wouldn't have taken kindly if I suggested sharing the set menu cost in retaliation to their sharing concept. If each set menu comes with a set of accompaniments, then they should provide that without question. If its a sharing concept, then that should've been mentioned outright from the start. So I wasn't happy with their withholding of information. Finally, the service was questionable. Any requests we made were often responded with cold, disgusted stares before faking a smile and "accepting" the requests. This "interaction" method took the hospitality out of the service today and made us question our decision of spending our money there. It was totally unnecessary to show us attitude. Then they would literally talk about us in their reception guest and it can be audible at times, which can be off-putting and can ruin the vibe completely. I have never left a scathing review like this before, as far as I'm aware, and hopefully this should be the last time. I hope the management can pick up on these points and train their staff adequately. Couldn't feel much of hospitality but more of passive hostility.

Vandana Bhatia Srivastava

I visited this place after seeing videos of certain dishes featured on their advertising channels. However, when I asked for those items, the staff informed me that they no longer serve them. This felt misleading, as those dishes were a key reason for my visit. The food was decent but not particularly good in terms of taste. Additionally, the seating arrangement is quite cramped, and the noise level is high, which makes it difficult to have a comfortable dining experience.

H
Harriet Kemp

We had booked but table was not available until 20 minutes after booking time. Were given complementary glasses of fizz as we waited. Food was good though the sizzling prawns did not arrive at the table sizzling. But whilst good food was not much better than local Indian for much higher prices. Need to sort out booking system and better service
