The 5 stars is for the food (and the manager). Some of the best food I’ve had. The steak tartare, the spicy tuna, the clam chowder and grilled cheese. All amazing. The dirty martini was also very good. The service was just okay. We asked multiple people for more olives on the martini throughout the meal and it wasn’t until the 3rd person that we asked that we got them. There was an issue with our table and the manager quickly corrected the concern and was amazing. Overall I can’t wait to go back and try more items on the menu.
Been to A PCH countless times and it never disappoints. Always guaranteed a good time. This visit was a party of five for dinner, and we leaned heavily into their happy hour menu (3–6pm) with a few regular menu favorites mixed in… which is honestly the move. For drinks, we ordered the Old Fashioned, Yellow Stoned, Black Manhattan, and red wine, and every single one was well-balanced and perfect for easing into the night. Now for the food we ordered: Squash Blossoms – light, crisp, and delicate, fried to a golden crunch without feeling greasy at all. Dangerous in the best way. BBQ Heirloom Carrots – Just sooo good. Sweet, smoky, and insanely flavorful. Do not skip this dish! Spicy Yellowfin Tuna – fresh, bold, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. The Burger – three people at our table ordered it, which tells you everything you need to know. Seared Ahi Tuna Salad – my order and absolutely loved it. Perfect portion, super satisfying, and still refreshing — didn’t feel heavy at all. Between the food, drinks, and consistently great vibe, this place just keeps delivering. Whether you’re hitting happy hour or settling in for dinner, this location is always a win. We’ll 100% be back again and again!
First time dining here. I kept seeing videos of the pot pies coming up on my social media and had to bring my dad and grandmother for their birthdays to try them. I made a reservation ahead of time and the person who took our reservation was very nice and informative. She took down all of our names and the occasion we were celebrating, also made note that we were interested in the homemade pot pies (pot pies are only served Mondays and Tuesdays at this particular location.) When we arrived the hostess welcomed us all in by name, making us feel special. We were seated promptly in the "outdoor" patio. Its completely covered with views of the boats and los alomitos bay. There were 2 birthday cards displayed on our table for both my dad and grandmother, signed by restaurant staff. Super thoughtful, even the menus said happy birthday at the top! Our server Justin was so friendly and nice! My dad and grandmother both ordered pot pies and I ordered the $40 lunch 3 course meal. We all enjoyed our meals. Afterwards they also served my dad and grandmother both a beautiful plate that said happy birthday written in chocolate with a scoop of ice cream and berries. I had closen the toasted marshmallow ice cream which was served with a warm Carmel sauce. It was soooo good! As we were leaving our server informed us about their free vintage photo booth in the bar area. Such a fun memorable way to end our meal together. The parking ended up costing $6 after we used the 90 free minutes upon arriving. I will definitely be returning for a beautiful cocktail and date night with my husband next!
5 stars all around. The ambiance is cute and relaxing. Nice view of LB marina. Foodwise its solid. Enjoyed an array of dishes from the menu. Standout dishes: Spicy yellowfin tuna, lobster cobb salad, truffle fries. Love our experience here thanks to our friendly server and food! Dont forget to take photos at the mini photobooth which is a nice touch to the retro mid century vibe.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable, with a warm, inviting atmosphere that made the evening feel special. From the moment we were seated, the attentive and friendly service elevated the night. The food was nothing short of amazing. I started with the oysters, which were impeccably fresh and beautifully presented. Each one was briny and clean, the perfect start to the meal. The Lobster Cobb Salad was a standout—a colorful and hearty plate packed with flavor. From the creamy avocado and perfectly cooked eggs to the tender lobster, every bite was a combination of fresh ingredients and satisfying textures. We also indulged in a comforting grilled cheese paired with tomato soup. The soup was rich and velvety, and the grilled cheese had that perfect crisp-to-melt ratio—simple, classic, and executed perfectly. The drinks were equally impressive. Thoughtful cocktails and a well-curated drink menu made it easy to enjoy the evening. One highlight was a whiskey served over a branded ice cube, which added a fun and polished touch to the presentation. To top off the night, dessert was both elegant and delicious. A small bowl of creamy vanilla ice cream topped with fresh berries arrived with a lit birthday candle, making the experience feel personal and celebratory. The plate even had a chocolate “Happy Birthday” message, showing the extra attention to detail. Overall, this restaurant delivered on all fronts—flavor, presentation, atmosphere, and hospitality. Whether you’re looking for a spot to celebrate a special occasion or just enjoy a fantastic meal, this place is a must-visit.
A PCH in Long Beach delivers every single time—from the fresh, flavorful food to the effortlessly fun vibe that makes it one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. We had the halibut tacos (light, crisp, and bursting with flavor), the spicy pizza (bold, thin-crust perfection), and the chopped salad with added salmon. That salmon was flawlessly flaky, buttery, and so well-seasoned—it made the salad feel indulgent in the best way. And the whipped feta with warm pita? Unreal. The feta is silky smooth, topped with sweet roasted tomatoes, fresh basil, and a sprinkle of what tastes like crushed berries—giving it a tangy-sweet contrast that’s totally addictive. The pita is warm, soft, and light—not drenched in butter, just the perfect clean pairing. Service was another level. Delia was incredible—warm, attentive, and remembered the little details like how I prefer my capers not crispy. That kind of thoughtful, personal service is rare and makes all the difference. And shoutout to Travis at the front—so welcoming from the second we walked in. He made spot-on dessert recs. The entire experience was seamless, flavorful, and full of heart. A PCH is a Long Beach specialty for a reason.
Excellent brunch experience. Cheese and meat plate had a great variety, cheese was excellent and sides of honey and sauce were great. Stuffed squash blossom flowers were very flavorful. Scottish salmon had crispy skin and perfectly cooked internal temperature. Great views of the marina, recommend a booth in the patio area. Nice cocktails. Great service
Great views, service and food. Highly recommend for happy hour and beautiful sunset views. The food was creative and well made and the service was friendly and attentive.
I had a great time at Bar A on 2nd & PCH. The vibe was really nice and the drinks were excellent. I ordered a gin cocktail with some kind of Ango twist (not sure exactly what it was) but it turned out super good. Special mention to the bartender, Lara – she was super attentive and treated us really well. Definitely a place I’d recommend and will come back to.
I had their chicken pot pie. I have to say that if they just put a little bit more seasoning and cook the dough a little bit more it would have been perfect! Service was great food was great atmosphere was awesome I really like this place.

I cannot remember the last time I had an exceptional dining experience like this one. Highly recommend this place. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary, and right away the experience was made special with complementary Prosecco and customized menu. Our server Garrett was absolutely incredible: so kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. He truly made our time their memorable. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the fancy pizza, dirty pasta, spicy yellowfish tuna starter, and Mac and cheese side. All were outstanding. We splurged on dessert even though we were stuffed, and wow was it worth it. We ordered the Three Chocolate Silk Pie, which came customized for our anniversary, and it was to die for. There even was a free photo booth at the restaurant to be the cherry on top of our night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for an amazing dining experience, and thank you GARRETT for being an outstanding server!!!

A PCH is one of my favorite restaurants in the Long Beach area. I visit Long Beach for a couple of months each year and do a lot of eating out. I always make a point of visiting A PCH restaurant a few times each year. The ambiance, food, service and view of the marina are all exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant and have enjoyed every meal there. I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you choose on the menu. The cocktails are also very good and the bar scene is quite lively.
First time here for my wife and mine anniversary. Made reservations so we were seated right when we arrived. It was happy hour so we took advantage of the good deals and ordered many things. The Fancy pizza, barbecued carrots, mussles, and spicy tuna was what we got right off the bat and all of it was amazing. We decided to split the chilain sea bass and that also was so wonderful. The cook came out and gave my wife and I two glasses of bubbly for our anniversary and that was super nice. After all the wonderful food we decided to split the cheese cake which was also super good. We were extremely happy with all the food and the service. We definitely will be going back again for happy hour 3-6. I give this place a 10 it was just great. Thank you

You're definitely here for the ambiance. It's a nice location, good staff. They were nice, friendly and helpful. I was there when it was not busy though. Ordered the spicy yellowtail tuna app, very delicious, and worth it. The flavors were stacked nicely, giving you a full bodied app. 8.7/10. Ordered the Scottish salmon, don't know why it's Scottish but it's regular tasting salmon. The crunch from the skin was satisfying, the Mexican hash was good but not fantastic. Average dish, 6.3/10. Ordered the chicken picatta and this was not memorable. It was decent and ok with basic flavors. The potato puree was not the right choice but overall not bad. Average dish average rating 5.3/10. The brussel sprouts were under cooked. I can tell they tried but no go, 4.1/10. Overall great place, there's a free picture booth and I live the pics I got from it. Over looking the harbor is fantastic. I would go back but maybe for the burger next time.
Visited for the first time on a Tuesday around 5:30pm, we were seated right away and the chairs were super comfy and loungy. We ordered drinks for happy hour and everyone enjoyed their drinks! My mocktail was delicious and I loved that it looked like any other cocktail. We ordered our food and unfortunately we did end up waiting about an hour and 15 mins for our food to come out. Not sure why or if it was cause I ordered the Tuesday chicken pot pie, but the food took so loooonggg. My chicken pot pie was good, I think it’s definitely worth a try. It was not a flavor bomb at all- but it had nice texture and the pastry itself was very yummy and soft. The truffle fries were also very delicious. The chicken pot pie is about $32 ? For the atmosphere and vibe of the location I think the price is what it is, you’re in 2nd & PCH and overlooking the marina, but just a heads up that the prices are a bit on the higher side. They also had a free photobooth which was super fun and easy to use. Overall, the service was okay and the timing was off, but we enjoyed ourselves. I would come back and give it another shot!
This review is particularly about the food that I order and not the whole menu. I had the chicken pot pie that they do the demonstration with. I had the carrots glazed carrots for appetizers and a couple cocktails and they were delicious. There's something that I can go back to and back for again and again and again
Service was excellent, but I think the food was a little hit and miss. Hits: Dirty pasta, Fancy pizza, Meatballs, and Grilled cheese with tomato soup. Misses (not totally, just needed something extra for a pop of flavor): branzino - lacked flavor, maybe crispier skin would have helped and cacio e Pepe - lacked flavor. Could have used more cheese? Would we go back, absolutely! Final point. I would have loved to try the chicken pot pie. Wish I never saw on menu as just a Mon/Tues item. That’s all I wanted after seeing it on the menu! Haha.
This is kind of upscale but can be California casual. The servers are friendly. I've been here several times and the food was superb. This last time, it was okay but not up to par with previous experiences. Maybe they were having an off night. Don't want to knock them completely down if that is the case. I'm not writing them off completely. I'll try them again but I hope the food is back to its best quality like before. This time, we tried several dishes. The octopus was good. The fries were kind of bland. The Spicy Yellowfish Tuna was excellent and so were the Chilean Seabass Tacos. The Grilled Caesar Salad was good. They used to have a Cioppino that was excellent. Sadly, it wasn't on the menu this season. It usually is for winter.

This is a fairly new restaurant so it's pretty busy right now everybody's getting used to it. Has a big bar area and then a separate area with nice view and comfortable tables. It has sort of an indoor outdoor fuel to it. The food is very good. We have been there twice and both times the food was very good. Is an adult restaurant not really for kids
I had a double portion of skirt steak & eggs. For the price point the filet mignon is a better option. Someone in my party ordered the filet mignon and shared a small portion. The filet was definitely better. The skirt was chewy and more than once I encountered "nerve tissue". Costco skirt steak provides a leaner and more flavourful skirt option (at a fraction of the price). Drinks and mixologist were A+ When I return (and I will) I'll steer clear away from the skirt and go for the filet. Maybe they should consider filet mignon & eggs.
Really nice place overall. Service was top notch. Was going into this place with high hopes due to the location. Wife had a double martini which was good. Old fashions are also good and strong. Was told the "chicken pot pie" was one of the chefs best dishes. Not usually a pot pie guy but I'm down to try it. Came out in a cool upside down situation. Server flipped the bread over revealing the internals. Looked great, smelled great, then the taste... meh. Kinds bland. Bread was nice and flakey. Other then that, its a cool spot to eat. Bar set up is really nice and accessible. We were seated on the inside but when I go back I'll ask for an ocean view.

I don't care how this place had a cool view or prime the location is. I will avoid this restaurant group as a whole. With the food being under seasoned and the service so slow. Every interaction, besides being seated was painfully slow. It felt like I was looked down upon and I should be thankful for even being let in. The food was all under seasoned besides the fries. Those fries were close to perfect just needed a bit more crunch. The chicken pot pie was the whole reason for me to even want to come here. Marie callender frozen chicken pot pie has more flavor this theirs. The steak tartar needed salt. Getting salt was like pulling teeth. I had to ask twice before staff finally brought it to the table. The wait staff spilled 1/4 cup of water on the table. They never showed by up to clean the spill. No "let me get a rag" or napkins, just plain nothing.

**Significant Decline in Quality and Service** I'm disappointed to update my review of A PCH after my recent visit. What was once a reliable dining spot has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. From the moment we arrived, the experience was off. Travis, our host, was dismissive and condescending—setting a negative tone that unfortunately carried through the entire evening. The food was equally disappointing. My pasta was shockingly bland and tasteless—and we're talking about pasta, which should be nearly impossible to mess up. My date's salmon salad featured wilted, soggy lettuce and was completely devoid of flavor. When he tried my pasta, he was equally appalled. We both left the restaurant still hungry and genuinely disappointed. The only redeeming aspect of the evening was my bourbon neat, which thankfully arrived as ordered. For the prices charged here, this level of service and food quality is simply unacceptable. From the poor customer service to the subpar cuisine, this visit was a complete waste. I hope management addresses these issues, but until I hear otherwise, I won't be returning. ----_----------- I'm vegan. Our server was able to speak with the chef who, in turn, whipped me up this spicy pasta with asparagus & mushrooms; perfection! Great service & atmosphere! My dirty Hendrix martinis were pretty great as well. They need more veg options.
