This was a fantastic experience. The baristas were knowledgeable and the coffee delicious. Their selection of baked goods wasn't terrific but doesn't take away from the quality of the coffee shop. We went to waste some time before going to the movies nearby. We expected to sit down with some coffee and talk for an hour but they have a lot of items to keep people busy including books and games. We choose Jenga!
It's rare to find the trifecta of greatness: Great Coffee Great Music Great Wifi This place has it all. An expertly made and timed French Press with some non-mainstream 90's alt-rock and fast down/up speeds makes this a fantastic place to get some work done. Close to the train but we drove and parking in the median was easy.
The best Chai Latte I have ever had!!! I especially enjoyed watching them passionately make every cup in my group. We sat there and enjoyed every sip while we gobbled down the yummy treats they offered. I am looking forward to going back again & again! ;)
Unbelievably one of the best coffees I've ever had. The decaf which I like to combine with their regular Columbian or Costa Rican brew is beyond smooth! Absolutely, no bitter after taste. I also love the quick delivery service and will continue supporting this Long Island company!
Easily the best espresso and cappuccino that I've had in Long Beach. Compares with some of the better coffee specialists in Manhattan, such as Joe the Art of Coffee. Nice smooth beans with excellent crema. Open late too. Their coffee beans are relatively cheap (for the quality) and produced great results in my Gaggia Classic machine.
Best Smores in the UNIVERSE..yes that good. The best dessert I've eatn EVER!!!!!Grab one from their boardwalk location (if you are lucky enough - they sell out quick) and sit and watch the sunset with a cup of their coffee. It is my Sunday ritual now, and its the perfect way to end your weekend.
Great coffee and nice employees. It was my first time going there and the workers were very helpful and nice gave great recommendations and were over all really nice and their s’’mores bar is so delicious I highly recommend this coffee place
I can’t say enough how I love this place. Serious coffee, friendly service, affordable price and good vibe. As a coffee lover, this is the only coffee shop I would go in South Shore.
I got a package of their Gentle Brew x LocalLI bred dark roast coffee beans. So good. Roasted perfectly. Definitely going to check out the shop and pick up more.
I love everything about this place. The coffee tastes like coffee should taste. The baked goods are the best for miles! I'd cross 4 lanes of traffic for Gentle Brew!
Perfectly brewed coffee and delicious treats (scones and raspberry apricot bar is to die for). Amazing and friendly service. Definitely my go to coffee spot.
Wish I had found this place sooner....coffee is superior to pretty much any other place I've been to. I used to be an avid Starbucks person (and I do simple drinks like dark or blonde roast, straight up black) and I'll never go back to one again...it tastes so burnt and bitter compared to GentleBrew!
Best coffee shop around. Great fresh coffee. Love the roasting machine in front, cool decor and best place to stop for coffee after bike ride on beach. Friendly staff too.
The drip dark roast coffee is excellent ! My first time here , thanks! Blueberry scone is perfect too ❤️
I like to think I'm well versed when it comes to coffee. They owner (I assumed he was) knew what I was talking. A must go to if your a coffee connoisseur! Thanks gentle brew! All it needs is raw milk to be perfect
Really great coffee, brewed in house with some secret baker in the back making a ridiculously good scones and muffins. This is the only coffee worth drinking in Long Beach.
An amazing craft and artisan coffee shop with two locations in Long Beach. Quality beans that are roasted onsite. Amazing staff at both locations!
Very good coffee place, they put a lot of care into their work, but you can expect to wait on line a little longer then I'm happy with
Cool local coffee spot with a nice vibe to it. Came here to work a few times. Friendly staff and decent speed wifi that's enough for basic work and connection. Nice variety of teas that taste great. Highly recommended .
The go to place for good coffee and tea. Large variety of beans ground fresh for each cup and prepared with care via pour over, French press, vacuum brew, and something else I forgot. Ask the friendly barrister and you'll get enough of an explanation to choose something that fits your taste. Seems to specialize in coffee but had a variety of delicious looking teas. Plenty of comfortable seating.
Coffee: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cozy, local coffee shop with reasonable pricing! They have all the fixings for a standard shop but it's all very good. Staff is friendly and prepared our orders well. Recommendations: Cafe Latte or Mocha
In-house roasted coffee and freshly baked pastries and baked goods. Comparable quality to specialty coffee roasters in big cities. Friendly service and delicious food.
Every Friday I arrive an hour before my clients are scheduled to spend time here. Quick service with a smile. Matcha, coffee, tea, scones, gluten free, seating, WiFi a great place to start the day. They even have their own handmade mugs and plates for sale. I love local.
Trendy local spot. Looks like a hipster coffee shop in Brooklyn. They have normal table tops, high tops and sofa seating. Repurposed wood walls, music inspired art work and a cheese set if you want to play. Great for grabbing a coffee and pastry to hang out with some friend, or bring your laptop and do some work. I didn’t get any pastries but they looked yummy And they have a small menu for food. The stuffed French toast was calling my name! But I resisted. The French press coffee I got was on point.
Fantastic coffee and tea! High quality and worth going out if the way for.
The best carrot cake in my life. Gluten-free, moist, perfect amount of raisins, yummy frosting.
As a coffee lover… 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic coffee and tea! High quality and worth going out if the way for.
Fantastic place. I give it 4 1/2 stars. The staff is almost always helpful and the desserts are 9 out of 10 times delicious. Every once in a while theres a swing and a miss, but no one’s perfect. Then again, maybe I’m getting there too early. (Yes, I am definitely getting there to early). It’s still WAY better than Starbucks…and I like Starbucks. This is just way better. Buy local.
Hands down one of the best coffee spots on the island. Partly this is because of the superb quality of its coffee, ground and roasted onsite! Partly this is because of the supremely delicious cookies and pastries. Mostly it's because it's just a fantastic spot for hanging out, doing work, or grabbing a cup and walking the boardwalk. Staff is beyond friendly literally every single time I've set foot inside. Cannot recommend this spot highly enough
Fell in love with this place the moment I walked in. Lovely interior, tranquil atmosphere, and artistic adornments. I was also very impressed with the coffee- unlike any brew I've ever tried. They offer a variety of non-dairy milk. Sizes and prices are very fair and the service is exceptional. I'll definitely be stopping by here more often.
Amazing amazing kind and helpful baristas and a calm environment. Absolutely delicious coffee!! Oh and the coffee is soooooo reasonably priced. Oh my god and the absolute BEST scones I’ve ever had in my life. Try the vegetable or the blueberry scone if you can!!
Surprised to find such excellent tasting coffee while passing through Long Beach. I take my coffee black and so coffee needs to not be overly acidic for me. Their house coffee really made an impression on me and rivals many of the coffee houses here in Manhattan. Another test to tell if it is good coffee is when the remainder of the coffee has cooled down completely and it still taste good. I pass through Long Beach often and will definitely be back. Keep up the good work!
Really cool little shop! Reminds me of the smaller shops in the newly trending areas of Brooklyn. Great small-batch coffee (roasted in-house), local sweets and treats (some gluten free!), and great affordable coffee. This is the kind of place I wish we had closer to me, and more common throughout Long Island. The iced mocha I had was great, and the carrot cake cupcake was to die for. Highly recommended.
Coffee via vacuum pot is a fun process to watch and it is the best cup of coffee I have ever had. Also fun to take the kids or hang out here because the art is funky and the brewing process is on special display, it's like watching a science experiment. They are open early, so starting your day off right is easy with this place. I am waiting for a nice Sunday morning to try the food, but it makes me salivate every time I see it. Every staff member has been so helpful and delightful to laugh with and the price is right. Oh and the music is good too. Definitely a regular spot. :)

This place is great. A good working, hanging out kind of place with good drinks and good, albeit limited, food -- think snacks, rather than meals. It can sometimes have slow service, though. Seems to me to be a lack of rhythm/understanding issue, rather than a problem with any one server in specific. Not even close to a deal breaker; love this spot.
Nice place, very clean, plenty of places to sit, they offer wifi, so for that I would give 5 stars, but the place is like Starbucks with prices . If you wish to compete with the Giants, gotta undersell them at least a little. I understand they've got rent to pay, but they miiiiiight get more business if they were a bit more competitive.
Excellent coffee and methods of brewing. Coffee roasted on site. Home made, I believe organic, each day. Low key. Would have given an Excellent except for no seating at this time. Friendly staff who know their coffee☕
Finally a good alternative to Starbucks in Long Island. Vacuum pot brewed coffee creates flavor packed cup for your tasting pleasure. Outdoor seating with reasonable prices.
Almost perfect. Get drinks! Amazing coffee. Loads of seating but NO ac or working bathroom. Other than that, great drinks and good service.
One of my go to local coffee shops! Good cold brew and declicous pumpkin and zuchinni muffins, which are some of the best I've ever had. Still a great spot even with inconsistent hours as of late.
Quaint little shop. Lots of tables and couches, and room to work if you want. Good selection of quality coffee. They roast their own coffee and they seem to know what they're doing. Nice little community vibe, and friendly staff. I would go back, and would recommend.
Loved the Coffee! Also the service is pretty good 🌟❤️
Nice coffee, tasty decoration, decent scone, what else we need?

Hello! A few things, the space is really nice and comfortable, the service was great and they have a lot of milk alternatives but the espresso drink were not properly made. They don't know the basics of a good espresso shot. My espresso had a bitter flavor which tells me it was overextracted and even with milk you could still feel the bitterness. A little bit of training and this place would be better. Good luck!

Great coffee. Horribly managed. Twice this week I drove to the store and they were closed during their advertised business hours (posted right in the front door). Other customers with me had the same experience.

Don’t walk in if you see more than one customer at the counter. Today the two girls got so confused about who was there first that they skipped me entirely. Kept trying to get their attention and couldn’t. I walked out and said “Have a nice day!” And they said’ “You too!” Because they either didn’t notice or don’t care because they’re not the owners. I walked into their business to give them money and left without doing. The worst part is the girl started to take my order and that woman cut in insisting she was there first even though she want in line and the girl never came back to finish taking my order. If you’re the owner maybe hire people who can multi-task or consider staffing another person?
Dont know how to describe rating on coffee excellent clean cozy apparently the owners⁄co owners gave off a weird vibe its perdominatly caucasian as i was sittin co owners or employees walk pass me wen5 behind counter small place you must know your regulars from vistor well the man repeatly kept say black black black black he has to wear this disgusting black shirt he said black so much until the lady said knock it off my back was turnt ..i got up when he cooled off the black thing...i will never bring my black skin into your establishment ever !! Unbelievable
This place is horrible with horrible service. My drink was bad and the cashier was stoned out of her mind. Waited 45 minutes for coffee bc this high woman could not work the register. She ruined my day I wasn’t able to go to the lovely diner by the sea. Never going back again.
The long wait was a surprise. I won't rush to return for that. What will keep me away is the pervasive dirtiness of the entire shop. The place is filthy- counters, floors, nooks and crannies all have grime, crumbs, and other debris from food amd who knows what else. I saw dead leaves and other stuff on the floors. It wasnt just where a broom may have missed. Every horizontal surface has bits all over. And where there is equipment that creates a little ledge, edge or shelve, the mess is worse. I am not talking about typical coffee house grounds and coffee dust on the counter. Food service grit and bits. Once I saw it in a few spots, I looked closer and saw it everywhere. I've seen frat houses that were cleaner. Since coffee beans and the coffee process are kind of contained, I can see where the dirty facilities don't impact your cup of jo, but they sell food here! Just because your decor is industrial doesn't mean the joint is an industrial construction site. When I see this level of neglect, it usually reflects the attitude of owership. So to me, if your precision and focus shows in the front of the house, how bad is it in the back where customers can't see? This place needs a deep clean. And then it needs to be maintained every day, all day. Disgraceful and gross. Foul.
