We enjoyed this place on Friday night after Turkey Day. The food was exceptional as always but worth noting was the great service and hospitality of Carson, Austin, Hunter and Brooke. They provided us an evening we will never forget. From Houston with Love, PEACE!

I like thier chooped brisket burgers and bbq sauce. They have a nice patio and sometimes the cooking can be smelt driving by on 281. They offer to-go styrofoam in plastic or brown bags. Potato salad, beans, and more. They have great ribs too.

The smoked turkey I got for Christmas was amazing.

One of the better Bodacious locations in East Texas. I've visited dozens of times and never once had a bad meal. The chopped brisket sandwich plate with potato salad and beans is absolutely where it's at.

Definitely eat here as it is some of the best barbecue I've ever had! Their specialty at this particular Bodacious is their BBQ ribs. The meat is fall-off-the-bones tender with some fabulous seasoning, and the outer edges are lightly charred, which is just the way I like it. I had the three meat platter, which gives you the option of choosing one two or three meats for the same price of around $16, and it also includes two sides. They do it by weight so you'll get the same amount of meat no matter how many different types of meat you choose. I chose the ribs and sliced beef. I always have great food whenever I'm here so I encourage you to definitely come here and chow down with your friends.

You simply cannot go wrong with Bodacious. We have had BBQ literally all over Texas and beyond and we always revert back to Bodacious' sauce and spices when we make our own at home here in San Antonio. Great service, great products when we are in town in Longview visiting the in-laws. Consistent for us for over 30 years. Gig 'em!

I truly enjoyed my lunch at this location. The ribs, chopped beef, and links were super good. The links were my favorite. The links had a flavor that was superb 👌🏽. The restaurant was clean and every table looked clean. I highly recommend this location for your BBQ fix. 🧡✝️

Me and my fiance usually go across town too Carter's been eating their for years but we decided too go to bodacious and purchased 2 rib plates and a sloppy joe sandwich and OMG these ribs are delicious😋 so is the sandwich my son said it was good and not enough lol ( should have got him 2), not only I'm posting a review but I called and spoke with the manager I believe I made his day😁! Not too many customers call with good compliments! Keep up the good work💯

Bodacious BBQ (Loop 281) catered an event for my company Oct. 13 - feeding 60 people. The food was wonderful, great price, awesome variety & large servings! They were a real pleasure to do business with... extremely polite, respectful, kind, dependable!!!

You get a lot and it's fresh. We dined in and took some to go.

Grabbed a bottle of Hot BBQ Sauce on my trip across Texas at my favorite BBQ joint. Sauce was perfect as always. Got some hot link wraps that I haven't had in a few years. They've since switched from solid links to sliced longer links. They are dry and lacking a lot of the flavor they previously had.

The stacked wood outside told me all I needed to know. The brisket was tended with good bark. The owner even came by our table to chat. You won’t be disappointed!

I would give this resturant 5 stars for the food. It is the best!! This is the Bodacious to go to if you want the best BBQ. However, I take away 1 star because so many times I have had that craving for BBQ, only to be severely disappointed to see that they closed early. They advertise being open until 8:30, but I can't count t how many times I have arrived between 7:55 and 8:20 to see that they had closed. Last night they closed while I was in getting an order to go. I guess I took the last of the potato salad, so that signaled a time to close. That was just a few minutes after 8pm. While getting my order and getting in my car, I saw at least 5 different groups of customers turned away disappointed, like I have been many times. My advice to the resturant, if you advertise being open until 8:30, then make sure you have enough food and stay open as advertised. Nothing worse then wanting great TX BBQ, and not being able to get it. I have tried other Bodacious resturants, but they are just not the same..This one has the best of everything! Well, 3 years later, everything is the same. Today, a Wednesday I call at 6:30. I guess they are closed and sold out. I guess they are only open to the advertised time if they are not sold out. In the last 5 days, I have called at 7:10 and 7:35 on different days, and they have been sold out. They are the best BBQ so they sell alot of BBQ. I will note, the midtown location is closed from a fire I believe, so those customers must be coming to this one.

Alright y'all lets get down to business and set this straight, I love this place. The problem is the sauce is not the best, was not expecting it to be tangy, the sausage is also a bit sweet coming from central Texas I did not know that “Hot links” are the ‘actual’ sausage. But overall the food here is amazing.

They are a bbq joint that doesn't have pulled pork??... turkey was good though. Potatoes salad had wayyy to much pepper. Cole slaw was meh.

Staff is pleasant and facility is clean. Pork ribs are very good and highly recommended. Brisket was disappointing due to its lack of bark, light smoke flavor and sort of soggy texture.

Great brisket - cut nice and thick. Potato salad looked unique, but tasted great. Loved the sauce and the hospitality.

The food is delicious. Some of the people working there are very friendly. The last time I was there it was a young lady sacking the food and she just threw my food in the sack like she didn’t want to be at work or like she didn’t want to wait on me. Note to her: treat EVERYONE like you want to be treated!!!!!

I was impressed by Bodacious several years ago, but this location on this day was okay, but not exceptional. 😔 Only sauces were BBQ wt Mustard and hot sauces.

Ribs were ok, not great. BBQ beef sandwich ok but dry. Beans tasted a little burnt, like they were remixed with an old batch that failed. Coleslaw was ok. I thought the price was a little high for ribs, but they are in a high rent area. The sauce was typical runny restaurants style common in Texas, not the thick rich stuff found in the southeast.

They forgot my BBQ sauce. I even asked for extra on my call in order but I didn’t have a drop. Check your orders before you give them out.15 more minutes of my time and gas may not be much to you. But it upset my day.

If you are going to dress up ketchup, do more to it than brown sugar and vinegar. Meat was bland and needed salt, beans were a mild version of meatless chili and the potato salad was meh. Meat was tender, that’s about it.

I do not typically eat at this bodacious location, but I chose it for convenience. I ordered 2lbs of chopped beef to go, and was somewhat disappointed not only in the quality but it was also very pricey! I paid $40 for just 2 lbs of meat that had quite a bit of fat in it. Needless to say, I will probably not go back to this location. We love Bodacious, just not this one.

I used to drive 2 hours just to get to Bodacious BBQ in Lewisville. The usual location was closed, so we had to drive to this one. I am glad that they were open. But BBQ was not the same heavenly tasty. No, it was too dry and not juicy. I saw someone here complained that it was too greasy. It's BBQ. It should be fatty and juicy. If you don't like it tasty, don't eat BBQ. I hope they will stop cutting the fat off and go back to their original fabulous taste recipy. I eat BBQ maybe once a month. And I don't want to be disappointed again by my favorite BBQ brand.

Food is ok.. I've eaten here for years because it's convenient to my home. It's definitely the highest price with the least amount of food. A 3 meat plate and a drink is 22.00. Adam's bbq in Lakeport(old bodacious) is way better. Also the 4% for using credit/debit cards gets old. This Is a digital world get on board.

I’m not one to comment on anything and the only reason I have the 3 stars was because I have had some of the best bbq at this location. My daughter even worked for the owner Scott and had nothing but good things to say about him. I don’t easily get mad and I always give everyone the chance to make it right. Here is my problem Scott. I came in and ordered two pounds sliced brisket and 1 pound sliced sausage on Christmas Eve. It was our Christmas lunch. The brisket was sliced very thick and was tough as a boot. Sausage was excellent as usual. Let’s just say not many people ate the brisket and everyone agreed that is was not your best bbq. So I picked it up Thursday and your were close Christmas Day and Saturday because I tried calling all day. So I thought ok I will have to wait until Monday. When I called they transferred me to a Manager and I told him this and he said well you shouldn’t have waited so long to call us and that was four days ago and Scott will tell you the same thing. Scott when was I supposed to call you were not open. This is what upsets me.

I’m not really a bbq person but this place pleasantly surprised me. Beef brisket sandwich was delicious, I highly recommend, and the bbq sauce to put on it is perfect. I will say I do not recommend the potato salad as the flavor was not very good, no one at my table was able to finish theirs.

Let me start off by saying their smoked burgers are phenomenal some of the best burgers ive ever had but with that being said its sad that the best thing at a bbq joint is their burger. Most of the staff knows little to nothing about bbq and their brisket has the most minimal amount of actual smoke flavor, tastes as if cooked in a microwave and had the word smoke whispered to it from another room. For a bbq place it really lacks in ypur traditional bbq favorites which is why i offer them this very generous rating of 3 stars. I hope they step it up and get a knowledgeable staff like their other location because they are killing it and setting a bar that this location cant seem to reach.

The BBQ here is "ok", as is the portion size. I watched the guy who parks under the cover cut off my 81 year old dinner guest in the rain a couple of days ago. I guess if you own or manage the place, you must park at the front door and cut off anyone who might get there before you. Probably will eat somewhere else next time.

This location really needs to step up its bbq game. The ribs were dry and the sliced beef was flavorless and grey. I'll never understand why you would cut the bark and smoke ring off your brisket. The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star is because the beans were good and they sell beer. If you want the real deal go to mobberly.

Ordered a BBQ sandwich, got a basket of ribs with two pieces of Wonderbread thrown in on the side. Didn't even get a plate with it, had to eat my "sandwich" (which I had to assemble) off the tray. Very disappointed, will not return, do not recommend. Oh, and my "sandwich" plus a bottle of beer (Shiner Bock) came to a total of $14 and something. Absolutely not worth it.

Had never been to this location and will not go back again. No employee had on a mask. Saw only one with gloves on. Brisket was very fatty. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the ribs were delicious. However, with no masks or gloves, I'm wondering if the health department doesn't need to pay them a visit.

Really mediocre at best. Brisket and ribs have absolutely no bark on the meat. The smoking bark is what makes the brisket or ribs, look at Central or West Texas BBQ. I visited a month ago and the brisket was on the drier side. On a good note, the ribs were very tender and fall off the bone.

The potatoes in the potato salad were under cooked. They forgot to put my buns in the bag and then blamed it on my fiance. They won't make you the Mel Man here either! This location is not holding up there end! This will be our last visit to this bodacious, we will stick to 6th street or Moberly locations.

This place is way too expensive. I spent $35 on two meals and the sides are barely bigger than the sauce cups. I could have went and ate at a nice restaurant for this amount of money. I most definitely will not be back.

Online hours shows open on Sunday, drove all the way there and the doors are locked up and no one is there. Two other people came and went as well while I was there and were clearly frustrated they were closed when they shouldn’t be. Unprofessional and lots of business lost operating that way. Adjust your hours online and/or put up a sign if you have to be closed.

I tried to call and place an order for carry-out and they hung up on me. Oh well, Boxcar is better and Bodacious has been substandard for a good 20 years. I just wanted a turkey sandwich today. Oh well.

I ordered through waitr- a worker called to sub a sausage, I asked please put extra BBQ sauce in. Not only is the meat dry and hard like it has been sitting out but it is bine dry with not a drop of sauce to be found to even mask it. We are evacuated with a shared vehicle. Its not even worth it to call and complain 😒- just spare yourself!

I have been going here for years . Today I went and something was wrong with ribs did not taste good. So I called manager got defensive and said there ribs are not spoiled and not has complained. I told him they maybe spoiled but something wrong so he argued with me and I told him I would bring back later proving I did not eat them then he said he would replace them. I told him I would let my husband try to so called back talk to person who cuts them same story. I told him my husband said they tasted like left out to long or fire went out and had to restart. So won't be back. That was 3 lbs of ribs. Don't like being told Iam wrong that's why I had husband try them to.

Three times I have been to this place,food was ok but twice the service was rude and indifferent as they were saying they were closing 45 minutes early and half hour early offering no apology. And the owner parks in the front door in a rainstorm while elderly clients are walking in the rain to his establishment...the epitome of unprofessional or no management. Must have more business than they can stand,but I now drive the half hour to Country Tavern where the food and service are outstanding.

Spent nearly $80. 2 1/2 lbs Ribs were just OK. Chopped beef was mostly fat. Beans were good. Potato salad good. Again the chopped beef was mostly fat, fat, fat. Never again for my family.

Ordered a mailman and a hotlink. Got my food and the hot link wasn't there. Politely asked where was my hotlink, and one of the ladies was like "just give him a hotlink" as if I were just trying to get something free!! Very rude, and the food was sub par compared to the Kilgore location. Would not recommend!

Worst bbq I have ever had $40 for wife and I, they messed up my order twice, soda was flat way to much pepper in potato salad(,t was grey so much pepper) food was cold, the chopped beef tasted boiled no flavor no smoke no seasoning, wife's sloppy Joe was cold. Avoid this location. Brisket tastes like unseasoned meat from the crock pot. I literally had to drain my two pounds of brisket.

I spent $110.00 buying 1 1/2 pounds of chopped beef, pound of sausage and 1 1/2 pounds of ribs. The ribs were fair, sausage was ok, but the chopped beef was nothing more than chopped up fat. Absolutely terrible. We tossed it because I not want to make our guests sick. I normally go to Bodacious on Mobberly and have never had any issues with their quality. I now have learned a valuable lesson. I will make sure that I give this location all the advertisement that I can. I can’t believe they chopped up so much fat in the meat. I guess if you soak everything in sauce it would be ok. Sickening!!🤮🤮🤮 I wanted to post a picture that would show that the chopped beef when cooled turns white because of the grease. Not all Bodacious BBQs are this bad. Don’t lose hope. I’ve given this location multiple chances to impress me. Today will be the last. If you want some very dry roast then the Brisket here is for you. And it’s not just occasionally. It’s every time. SuperDry. Burnt Bark. Avoid this location.

This place is nice and quiet but the food is under cooked and way to expensive for the quality 😔 unfortunately it was just a waste of money

I've eaten at bodacious all my life. This location served me raw ribs and when I asked for a refund that guy who's gonna get people killed lied and said it was cooked.

When you order a BBQ potato, wouldn't you expect for the meat, butter, cheese and sour cream to actually come on or at least WITH the order? Then when I call to advise, I am told I was suppose to ask for it when the menu explicitly says these things come on the potato. I wasn't offered any way to make this right, they could have at least brought me butter, cheese and sour cream. No offer to bring me anything or a refund and this BS cost me almost $25 with delivery and fee's because I am in town working from a HOTEL. And why is the turkey shaved like deli meat? Geesh, Not impressed.

The employees were great and very welcoming but the brisket has zero flavor and was dry I also had the pinto beans and Mac and cheese those were also very bland and the BBQ sauce was weak so I asked for the hot sauce and it was more sweet than spicy overall I'd say this place should be called Okaycious instead of Bodacious

Went in to get food today. Once we stepped in we were greeted by a nice young man. However, the cashier that took our order had an attitude the entire time and not once did she smile.

They mostly hire teenagers who are often ready to shut things down early. Even though their official closing time is 7:30 PM on weekdays, they start denying orders around 45 minutes before that—so don’t expect to get anything after about 6:45 PM. Also, don’t bother with DoorDash or calling in—they rarely answer the phone and often cancel delivery orders altogether. Plan ahead if you actually want service.

Went to Bodacious on loop 281 after I voted tonight, arrived at 7pm…they were closed, doors locked.
