The food was absolutely fresh and hot. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They informed us there was a wait on food. We didn't wait that long and it was worth it. The price for a family of 4 was very reasonable.

Very clean, professional staff, quick ordering. They were busy tonight, but very impressed with the location. Their roasted chicken is absolutely delicious. Since KFC quit their baked chicken, good bye to them and hello to golden chick from now on. The 8pc family meal is $10 less than the 15 family meal, so might as well buy the 15 for almost twice the chicken and X2 the scruptiousnsss. 😁

I like their food and think they have some of the best tasting chicken in Longview. I had ordered ranch but didn't get any in my bag. Not to worried about that though. Will visit again.

Not sure of the gentleman’s name on day shift yesterday who brought out my food Saturday 12/10. But he told me Merry Christmas! And he knows I was freaking out looking for my wallet. I was in town working, and left my wallet in Tyler where live. His kind words calmed me down a bit on my drive home as I was in a panic. In this day and age , so many restaurants are decreasing in quality , but not our local golden chick! They continue to tow the line on quality food and quality service! From the warm greeting from Mr. Bobby when you pull in the drive thru, to the delicious and freshly cooked food (even at two o'clock in the afternoon) it is always a great experience that is a highlight in one's day! First-time customers, We placed an online order with a 30 min pick-up window. We arrived 1 min later. Pulled into the drive-thru line and picked up our hot/ fresh order. Yep, it was ready and complete. The food was great( yeah, it's just chicken) hot, juicy, nice flavors. We'll be back soon!

Went to Golden Chick 8-28-24, ordered our food at 617pm and didn’t get it until 7pm. Had roasted Breast 6gizzards and 6 livers mashed potatoes and gravy that you could turn the bowl upside down and it didn’t fall out.Their was some more people their before us didn’t get there food till715 pm

Me and My husband come here alway was. One of our best fried chicken pit stops. You can't go wrong with Golden Chick. There seasoning is so good and crispy fried batter. Chicken is all ways cooked right. Yeast rolls are so good we have to go extra rolls. They always friendly and provide us with condiments as needed.

I usually do not go to fried chicken places. But my brother and mom highly recommended it. It was great the chicken. And the fish didn't taste greasy. The only thing I would like was the corn nuggets to be a little hotter.

Great food, great price, great employees, and founded in one of the best Texas has to offer. The city of San Marcos. If you haven't already tried this place be sure to ask for the zinger season and definitely get some extra rolls. Also they have some of the best southern sweet tea you can find. Better like it sweet if you try it.

Golden chick never fails me! They ALWAYS hook me up with extra on the 4piece combo. 😘🤫 Everything is always hot and fresh no matter what time I come. Their macncheese is THE BEST out of every other chicken fast food place, hands down. I have only had one bad experience a couple years ago. I gave them some time to recover and regroup because I love their food! Last two times I've visited have been excellent! Customer service was great, food was great & prices are very reasonable.

Great fried chicken . great portion sizes . tastes perfect. Juicy & delicious. The old man at the McCann store was a bit grumpy, but we all have our days. My grandson loved the chicken tenders .

Food and service was good. Pace was slow but they had like 10 cars in the drive through and like 6 people.in line when I got there. Only suggestion (bc I'm Cajun) is to try and make the dirty rice not quite so mushy. The flavor was really good, though. Hadn't been there in years but glad I checked it out this time.

My husband had tried to do an online order and kept getting dropped for over 30 minutes so we did it the old fashioned way, wrote it down and I went in the restaurant to order at the counter. We always seem to have trouble with the apps and not getting the correct food or something is left out. I explained this to the young man at the counter and he promised it would be done right even with each order being different in some way. He told another customer he had been working here for 3 months, I told him I had 4 orders, 3 had 6 tenders each but all were different, he took the order perfectly, called to thank them and got his name as Terrell. Everything was packed perfectly, nothing left out, the whole team there worked well together to make this a good experience for this customer at least. Thank you!

My mother ordered again from here even after the hell over the last order… love the chicken so had to get it no matter what … the staff are friendly and work very hard to keep it clean and service running smoothly … the food was so good the chicken was nice and crispy/crunchy and they did very good on the coleslaw… they had my order ready 5 mins before pick up time !!! Even though the wait was a little long for four bread rolls it was worth it. They just brought out a new pan full of fresh rolls, so when I got them they were nice and hot.

Batter was extra crispy leaving the meat part actually smaller than it looked. Service was very pleasant and professional. Rice was super spicy.

The chicken here is delicious. I have passed by it for years and never stopped but since the local KFCs all closed down I have searched for a suitable replacement and when Chicken Express on Gilmer rd couldn't fill my order to my liking because they didn't have the desired pieces prepared and told me prep time would be 45 minutes because they didn't have a cook in the store... I remembered this Golden Chick and decided to give them a try. Thank God I did because I absolutely love their chicken the fried and the roasted are both DELICIOUS! Sides were great and the rolls are to die for! My only complaint if I would even call it that was the gravy that came with the mashed potatoes was a small container but now I know and have no problem ordering an extra serving. Have eaten here 3 times in 2 weeks and have yet to be disappointed.

Everything was good but did have a little mix up the last time I visit. Ordered Mac and cheese and Cajun rice, ended up with both sides of Mac and cheese. Lactose lol don't need all that cheese

The manager that was on duty November 2, 2017 did an excellent job. The store was busy inside and the drive thru was also busy. Customers were complaining, and blaming her, but she handled the situation in a professional way.

I don't know why, but this may have been my first time to eat in here. I'll probably go back. I was surprised by the variety of items available as some of the other fast food places have "simplified".

Spent almost $ 30 and didn’t get gravy. The food was great but not having gravy was a bummer. I was already home before I knew there was no gravy. I had 3 orders together and asked for gravy for each order and got 0. Seemed like a lot of confusion going on in the business.

I order wicked wings for the first time & the crust was not tolerance to chew up & to much spicy in the seasoning , on the spot i was deliver hot foods fresh out the grease & the fries was very hot as requested , if you dont mind the wait , this restaurant want give you fries been setting up 20 minutes and put hot fries mixed in with the old ones , so that is my experience of a score 3 til further notice to give a 5 .

The food was very good and hot. However; even though the young man repeated my order correctly twice, he didn't give us one of our items and no utensils or napkins. I pulled back around through the drive-thru, but he said he didn't charge me for the item. I calmly told him that he repeated my order correctly twice, but he just stared at me waiting. I paid for the item and asked if there were utensils and napkins in the bag. He said no and just looked at me until I asked if he could please give me some.

Ordered 4 piece chicken tenders. Very doughy on a few pieces. Rasing Cains has you beat there. I also ordered a 6 piece wings all flats. I haven't tried them yet but they are the smallest wings I've ever seen. The fries and coleslaw were good. I ordered a 2 piece catfish of which I have yet to try but also noticed that the pieces were much smaller than Chicken Express catfish. I'll be back to try the fried chicken. Hopefully it will be great.

Thirty minutes...waited thirty minutes to get our food. And when we did, one of the sandwiches didn't have ranch on it, when we asked for it to have ranch on it. Didn't get the tartar sauce that we requested and was on the ticket. The fish and shrimp were pitiful in size compared to others that sell fish on their menu. We've typically had good experiences here, but tonight was not one of them. They were busy, but 30 minutes to wait was ridiculous. I would be willing to bet my wingsendedup being given to anothercustomer,another customer, we got parked and I ended up having to go in and get it. The sandwiches ended up cold. Worst experience so far.

Use to love to come here for lunch 2-3 times a week. But here lately the last several times I've been food has been horrible. Food is supposed to be cooked fresh but tastes like it's been cooked in old grease and cooked extremely to long making it hard.

I was rating Golden Chick with 5 stars. However, as of last night, 8.20.19, I had to rate it with 2 stars. My wife and I waited in the drive through for at least 10 minutes while the serving lady talked to a customer in the car ahead of us. No food was passed through the window, just talk. Finally the lady ahead of us drove off. Then the server tried to give us wrong order. Then she gave us our order but after checking it, there was an error on the order. We spent way too much time here! Under new management? Just poor server? You tell me Mr. Manager!!

I waited 50 mins on a 2 pc and 3 chicken strips. The cashier said he put extra in there for the wait. I get home it's 4 rolls in a bag. 11/22/22 Definitely a problem in management.

Got a 2 piece wing and thigh dinner for my 96 year old father. That’s what he wanted for his Father’s Day meal. When I got home it was shriveled up dried out horrible looking chicken. I wanted to cry! Tried to call the store but unable to reach anybody! I will see them tomorrow!!

This place has become s dread to come to. The food is good. But the wait associated with is is not worth it. Seem to be never prepared for the lunch or dinner rush. I just had to wait " forever" for a 2pc combo. That's after I denied to wait 10 mins for wings to be cooked. As long as I waited . I could have gotten the wings my wife truly wanted. !!! It will be a long while, if ever, when I return.

Usually I would give a 5 but after last Sunday not. Ordered a 25 piece tenders family meal. Sides 3 were so small 2 people could have eaten them all. And no we don’t eat a ton. No rolls! No sauce! Disappointed ☹️ times are tough on everyone and we need to be better than most. If golden chick wants to spend more money on advertising then they should exceed the expectation of their customers. Just saying.

fried chicken cold. flies in the kitchen and dining room. every table is dirty and the floor is dirty and gross. The drink area is a toxic gross problem, just nasty. not enough employees. lots of customers. too many for the staff to handle. roll your recorder back and give some concern about your business. you are watching and doing nothing.

I would say normally we enjoy, but this evening’s experience was horrible. The fried chicken looked like it was re-fried or under hot lamp a LONG time. All outer crust basically inedible. The salad was frozen - literally. Horrible. Wanted to try the mini funnel cake. Well I did. It was old, hard and crunchy. Even looked horrible. However, they are always friendly.

I stopped in for the first time today. Was in a hurry and grabbed a quick bite. The restaurant was clean and not crowded. The staff were okay but not as responsive as some other quick food places. There was no welcome greeting or goodbye. The food was a little heavy, greasy for my taste but typical of many fast food chains.

I usually love their chicken normally the best in town, but the chicken tenders were bland, literally no seasoning at all. I gave 2 stars because it was hot & fresh.

Waited 30 minutes for our food after going through the drive through. We ended up having to go inside and get a refund. They had no idea how much longer it would take. I asked him for his name because I like to know who I'm speaking with and he had an bad attitude, very unprofessional over the phone and terrible customer service! I don't understand how he is a manager! He claim his name is Bill and he was very rude and ignorant over the phone talking to his co-workers instead of talking to the customer! I kept saying hello because he act like I wasn't on the phone! I was trying to conduct business over the phone and he don't know how and I asked him was there another manager I could speak with besides him because he was non caring and don't know how to speak professionally over the phone! Bill really piss me off because I was trying to tell him about the chicken wasn't cooked all the way! I know what Golden Chick taste like and it was horrible! The manager refused to listen and had no concern about the food because it wasn't his food! He don't deserve the position he have because he is very unprofessional, unpleasant, ignorant , uncertain, repulsive, disrespectful,disturbing behavior! Yes I thru the chicken out because we were mad about the food and we threw it in the garbage at Jack -n- the box after making a purchase there and we went to Sonic! Had to go elsewhere to spend more money to receive better customer service have receipts to provide it and on 📷 throwing the chicken in their garbage! Owners please respond before I call the health department! Order a chicken sandwich combo. It was server cold fries, refrigerated cold bun and obviously cold chicken. I asked the girl nicely to replace the cold meal and she told me that’s the way they serve food here. It’s a shame, I had to throw it in the garbage

This place does not have their act together. It is the world’s longest drive thru by far. I was told 20 minutes to get my roasted chicken because they needed to cook more. But it has now been an hour and I’m still waiting in my car at the front. Every time I come here there are multiple major issues. I have never been this disappointed with any restaurant! This is the last time! —-updated—- I asked an employee dropping off someone else’s food to check on my order. She did not get back to me after 15 minutes. I went inside and it appears they forgot all about me (twice). They than blame it on corporate policies and tell you it is not their fault. The employee behind the counter said he would make it up to me with free food. Free food was 8 biscuits. And they still did not give me any utensils to eat my mac-n-cheese after I asked 3 times (because this an every visit occurrence at this restaurant). Grrrrr.

Increased prices. Decreased amount of food received. Like other franchisees in Longview, they will forget the reasons people frequent this restaurant and end up with an empty parking lot. It's ok though because the owner's patronizing daughter likes to justify the cost by saying they "could cut out free rolls when dining in, would you like that?" You can cut them out. We won't be back.

My office ordered three different meals and everything was incorrect. It seemed like the food had been re-dropped in grease. The fries were soggy. The chicken sandwich had too much sauce when I asked for it to be plain with no pickles then the gizzards were very chewy. I would highly recommend to not return to this location due to the poor service and disgusting food.

Spot on for flavor and being moist but I don’t think that internal temp was hit😭 which is retrospect explains the moisture.🫠 bout three hours later and I’m puking and buckled over. 🥲 rolls and okra were great. I won’t be back though I’m traumatized. Little longer in the oven😭 internal temps do matter. Outside was real crispy & crunchy which personally I’m a fan of but also like the cooking temp could have been brought up to try and get it out faster😭 I would have rather waited😭

Every time I go through the drive-thru on Friday nights, there's a 30-45 minute wait, and my order is always incorrect. I've given this location multiple chances, but they continue to mess up my meals. Tonight was no different—I ordered a 20-piece tender meal, but when I got home, I realized they only gave me 10 pieces. On top of that, the gallon of tea I purchased wasn’t filled to the proper line and wasn’t sealed correctly, causing it to leak when I picked it up. Car and hands sticky from the spill. The gravy was so watery it was dripping of my tenders. Why can't they ever get it right in drive thru? They need a big boss to come through drive thru and see what we experience! It is bad service.
