I have a new favorite Pho restaurant! I’m happy to have found The Pho Cabin in Los Altos. The secret to a great Pho is creating an amazing broth and this place has cracked the code. The broth is super flavorful (even without Sriracha!), the noodles are tender and the sprouts, jalapeño, lime and onions are super fresh. There are quite a few other things on the menu that I will return to try. The staff is super friendly and on top of things. And I love the fact that the inside of the restaurant makes you feel like you are in Tahoe (hence “The Pho Cabin”.) They also play feel-good tunes while you dine. It’s a great spot!
I am so happy that Pho Cabin opened up near my home. I recently moved from the South Bay to the Peninsula and I was craving some good, home cooked, legit Vietnamese food. Pho Cabin met all my expectations. I loved that there were many options from Pho & noodle soups, rice plates, beef stew and so much more. All the dishes we ordered hit the spot. My favorite was the shaken beef. The beef was as soft as butter and the marinade was on point! The best I’ve ever had. It’s definitely a must try. The staff was really helpful and attentive. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes.
A lovely place with great service... They are too friendly and helpful. We ordered cold role, veg spring roll and chicken pho. Everything was sooooo delicious. Totally enjoyed all the food. During this pandemic, they maintain good distance and they make sure everything is taken care off. The best pho I encountered so far...

Very big portions, good food and staff
Nice service, fresh and soft bun for the banmi ! Everything is delicious
The pho is fresh and flavorful!! And...gluten free!!
Love the food I enjoy having lunch there when I can.
Really tasty Vietnamese lunch. I recommend it.
Love this place! Went 3 times last week.
Great place, fresh ingredients, friendly staff
Excellent pho in a rustic faux A-frame cabin setting on the middle of State Street. Generous portions.
This place is incredible! Authentic Vietnamese food made with love. Will definitely be back again and again and again!
I was surprised it was very good. What through me off was the name, Cabin, but I will be back for more pho and spring rolls.
Great place for lunch! Excellent service, fantastic phô, and the outdoor seating was perfect. I can't wait to return.
Local favorite for Chicken Pho. Split a large. Love the spring roll.
Super friendly and nice. Really really good Thai tea thank you
Lovely cabin atmosphere, delicious food and generous portions.
Great amazing food outside on a gorgeous day! Staff was attentive, food was delicious!
Very tasty food. Good variety. Reasonable prices. Helpful staff.
No frills pho restaurant with great service
One of the best bowls of pho I’ve had in a while! Very welcoming environment as well
Always fantastic, the crew is warm, inviting and always make me feel at home. Every time I come in I ask for them to surprise me for my meal, and it's always delicious
Delicious pho opportunity with the family. We enjoyed the rich taste and plentiful rations.
Good food, friendly staff. The takeout pho comes with a lot of extra broth, I only needed to use about half of it. Pork bahn mi was great and the fried tofu appetizer was delicious.
Phenomenal experience! The broth was rich and aromatic, noodles were great, and the beef so flavorful. Service was quick and friendly too. Can't wait to come back!
Always good. Lots of chicken in the banh mi. Try the vegetarian fresh spring rolls. My only ask of Pho Cabin - please package take-out orders in sustainable/biodegradable containers and bags. I will pay more in order to deal with less plastic.
Pho Cabin took over the location where the long standing Vietnamese restaurant Tour Eiffel used to be. Going to miss their ginger pork. Anyway, I tried the Pho Cabin grilled chicken with rice and the crispy egg rolls. The chicken was well executed, juicy and tender - delicious. It comes with steamed rice, and some lettuce and cucumbers. These where both excellent. The egg rolls were fresh, crispy, and tasty. I will be back. Highly recommended!
Great local pho spot, and is our go to place. The broth is rich and meaty, and the noodles are always perfectly cooked.
Love Pho Cabin - love the cute and cabin like atmosphere. Ordered the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli for take out ($22). Outdoor dining available though!
Great Pho. Slightly more expensive than their competitor on El Camino & San Antonio, but significantly better: It's easy to overcook the chicken in chicken pho, but they don't. The noodles have a fresher texture. And the service is more friendly and attentive. Recommend the veggie egg rolls as an appetizer. They come out quickly, and the taste and texture are just what they should be. Update: The chicken in the chicken pho tends to be overcooked about 1/3rd of the time. And the suggested tip is calculated based on the post-tax amount, which is borderline shady.
Exceptional restaurant serving authentic and delicious Vietnamese food with fresh ingredients. And if you can tell from my name, I am Vietnamese and I know what I'm talking about. Have tasted and eaten at a lot of Vietnamese restaurants. The location couldn't be better! Having this in downtown Los Altos is so convenient for me, since I can walk from my office and either eat in or pick up to go. Let's get into the food! Shrimp papaya salad is soooo good. Every now and then I crave me some papaya salad, and this hits the spot. Banh mi comes lightly toasted bread with tender beef and side of chips - a favorite! Beef stew is tender and the broth is rich and flavorful, comes with fresh bread or noodles. Bun Thit Nuong with perfectly grilled pork and cold noodles with fish sauce dressing. Beef pho has so much goodness in the broth and the beef is just right for cold weather or anytime really. Especially when the temperature drops and that piping hot bowl of pho is simply divine. With such a rave review, maybe I was holding off on writing it for so long because I don't want the word to get out. But this restaurant is a gem and I hope it will continue to be around for many years to come.
Ordered a combo pho and some appetizers. Everything was tasty and fresh. While I would have liked more eggroll for the price, I think the quality makes up for the lack of quantity. The combo pho was exactly what I was looking for, flavorful clear broth plenty of noodles and a variety of meat.
The BEST Vietnamese spot on the peninsula. The broth's are all absolutely amazing, the BEST broths I've ever tasted to date, for Pho, Beef Stew, & Wonton soup. The BBQ chicken is the best I've had, it's good in the Bahn Mi but my favorite is the BBQ chicken roll. The best service I've ever had at a Pho spot, and some of the best service for ANY restaurant. Duon is absolutely amazing, he remembered our names and our orders after only one visit. The food is top tier but it is his energy that keeps us coming back. @treatyousef
Small Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of downtown Los Altos. They have 6 (?) tables for outdoor dining, as well as heat lamps. Menu is standard Vietnamese fare, with pho, rice and vermicelli dishes. Everything looks freshly made. The pho soup base is flavorful and full of umami. Grilled pork rice plate came with a heaping portion of tender, well grilled pork. Coconut juice is refreshing. Service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended.
Great pho options and I was really impressed by the banh mi sandwiches. Really great flavor and the meat was cooked to perfection. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating.
A lovely spot for excellent Vietnamese food. The service was quick and pleasant and the pho was very yummy. Such a cute place too!
This place has incredible vibes. Food was great, I got the egg rolls and pho Tai. Server was quick and friendly. This place is super cozy, with nice cabin decor and soft music.
Wonderful food and Excellent staff. Their pho is delicious, and their fried rice is my favorite go-to entree. Highly recommend!
Pho Cabin is my family’s favorite place for Vietnamese food. Doan and his entire staff make the most delicious dishes with such fresh ingredients and ensure the quality of everything they serve everyday. Not only is the food amazing but the service is incredible. You can really tell they care. Excellent place for lunch or dinner!
Love coming here. Service is sometimes slow with a full resstruant but still pretty fast. Great fresh food and is always warm. The atmosphere is very diverse really letting you receive the "Pho Cabin" Feeling from the building to all the tiny bear statues.
Reasonably priced pho and a wonderful setting. There's usually no wait and they're always friendly and attentive. Small menu, but a good one.
Underrated. Best pho in the area. Best ambience, and generous portions of noodles and beef. Friendly staff. The rice wrap on the spring rolls was fresh and not at all chewy, noodles were the same. Tender beef, not overcooked. Also, slightly cheaper than other places. Rating a 5 because they deserve at least a 4.6. Really enjoyed it.
This is the only place you can eat top notch Vietnamwss food in a cabin atmosphere! So cute, cozy and comfortable. We ordered: Pho combo -generous on the good meat Lemongrass Chicken and shrimp rice - wow the grilled shrimp. Will order again definitely. Spring rolls - great! Has peanut sauce Egg rolls - solid Chicken salad. - huge portion. Only thing is chicken a little tougher than I like. Overall excellent food. Didn't expect such high quality vietnamese food in Los altos. Will come back. Thank you.

10/5/2024 The Pho Cabin 200 State St Los Altos, CA 94022 I went there for an early bowl of Pho on a Saturday evening and got seated immediately. It's a cozy street corner location with a clean table and chair setup. We have tried to dine here before but there was always a line to get in and at least a 15 minute wait time. The menu fits on one side of letter size paper and the beef selections featured only lean cuts. I ordered the Brisket Pho which was brought to me promptly. The beef was indeed lean and plentiful. The broth and noodles were good, nothing special. Service was great and I guess it's popular for the lean beef selections with the wait times due to the limited seating. I prefer fattier cuts so I'll repeat if Wifey insists. Free city lot parking is nearby and usually available.
We got Seafood Pho (Large) and Pork and Egg rolls rice. Both were good tasting. I like the pork since it is neither too sweet nor too salty compared to other places in the area. It was a good serving as well. It is just that they don't accommodate a request for complimentary small bowl of broth to come with the rice. I could have given them 5 stars. A bit pricey but considering the value and servings, I can let it slide. Good outdoor dining experience.
Came with my partner and we ordered the Large Beef pho and small Chicken pho along with a Vietnamese iced coffee and sat outside since the day was nice. Service was a bit slow, not sure if that is because we were outside or something that they need to figure out since it looks like they had 2 servers but they were both coming outside and serving different tables. Both the chicken and beef were pretty good, flavorful broths with good noodles and the veggies were fresh. The iced coffee however isn't what I'm used to where they bring a cup out with the sweetened condensed milk and the coffee still dripping. It looks like it was made in a big batch and poured into the glass and wasn't sweet enough. It was hard getting their attention just to order so I didn't bother trying to get them to fix it. Even getting the check was hard to flag them down. Both pho's we're good though so we'll definitely come back and try some of their other dishes.
Simple dishes of Vietnamese food. Good customer service. Grilled chicken with shrimp has good flavor although not enough of lemongrass in it. I wish they didn’t add the color in the meat and shrimp. The portion is pretty decent.
I went here with a party of 2 at 5pm. There was no wait. I ordered the large combo pho: slices of steak, brisket and meatballs $12.95 and pork spring rolls $7.95. I enjoyed the food here, I would come here again.

Vermicelli bowl is very good. Speing rolls are solid.
First time at a Vietnamese restaurant ...I had a rice plate with grilled pork, and really enjoyed it. I'll be coming back again!
The wait can be long, but the food is excellent. Be sure to get there by 7:30 pm, because they close the doors at 8pm
Good pho, crispy egg rolls and spring rolls. Good Thai iced tea as well.
Efficient, friendly staff. Excellent pho. I enjoyed eating on the patio..
If you like Vietnamese pho, you will not be disappointed.
Delicious lunch, excellent service. Great spot for a casual meal.
Overall good experience but Vietnamese shrimp salad was just ok (a lot of shredded cabbage and not that much shrimp). The cabin is cozy inside.
Location is good and it is in Los Altos downtown. but the Pho broth is bland.
Bit pricey for Pho. But flavorful.
Great pork banh mi. Great service. Sidewalk dining which is, well, great (it's open) but somewhat awkward (people brushing your table while you eat).
Love this place. Definitely better in person than takeout. I just wish they were open more hours. Seems like they're always closed when I want to go.
Good down to earth pho. Best phos are in San Jose but the Cabin does scratch the itch for good pho.
Really good pho and vietnamese cuisine. The pho was fresh, had deep flavors, great amounts of meat and was delish. The vermicelli were so good, loved the flavor of the chicken and fresh vegetables. Very good. Service was fast and friendly. Would for sure go back.
The interior does look like a cabin - very cozy. Comfort food, reasonably priced for a place like Los Altos downtown. I ordered beef stew, which is too sweet for me. Vermicelli that my partner ordered, though, was decent and satisfying. I revisted this place for dinner: gosh the place is bright from mega watts of LEDs. Recommend going for lunch, not dinner.
Pho Cabin took over the old spot occupied by Tour Eiffel, new menu with some new items like vegetarian pho. The menu is similar as they both focus on Vietnamese standards like bahn mi, vermicelli noodle bowls and rice plates. The new owner is nice and greeted us to talk about the change over. Good food, will definitely continue to come back.
My chicken and prawn vermicelli bowl was fantastic—better than the ones I’ve had in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh city. I cannot say the same for my vegetarian spring rolls, which is why I deducted one star. (June 2019)
The food's good. They might want to actually make greater than a one dollar difference between large and small servings. How about something actually "small" for $10-12, and keep the huge one huge?
Good place to get Vietnamese food in the area. Sure, there are others in the area but this one is at a convenient location in downtown Los Altos and within walking distance to all places downtown.
We are regulars at The Pho Cabin and have had it dozens of times because the broth here was so good. Last time we went there, something was off with the broth and noodles. The noodles were mushy and the broth tasted like salt water. It may have been just a one-off, but with so many good pho places in the area, we haven’t been there since.
This is my 2nd time having lunch at The Pho Cabin and both times I ended up eating all of my lunch. I usually get pork and egg rolls vermicelli noodle dish and it's so good. The pork is well marinated and egg roll crispy. I try not to eat it all, but it's so good. The service was fast, the food was delicious. Will visit again.

I purchased a chicken banh mi and Vietnamese coffee. They were ok. The chicken was well-marinated and juicy and delicious, but the bread seemed thinner than expected, and the small amount of pickles weren't as tangy as I'd anticipated. The sandwich was served with a side of ruffled potato chips. The coffee was already mixed on arrival; I personally enjoy separate layers of condensed milk and coffee, and given the $7 price tag, I was expecting that. So everything was ok - not bad, not amazing.
If you have to eat in downtown Los Altos, and you want Viet/SE Asian style food, but don't want the pungent smell of fish sauce, this is your jam. Everything we had wasn't bad, just very mild, it just didn't have any of the usual fish sauce/smell. Also missing were fresh herbs. Lemongrass pork and prawn vermicelli had zero lemongrass flavor/aroma, no mint leaves, the liquid sauce here was a mild sweet liquid. Mostly vermicelli and romaine, no sprouts, a few strips of watery mushy Daikon and carrots (normally they are pungent pickles). Pork banh mi had a very few of the mild carrot Daikon pickle but nothing else except mayo, no cilantro. So if you don't like the pate, headcheese, fresh herbs, jalapeno, cucumber, and just want pork and bread, this is the place. Pork was pretty oily, orange oil dripping like a folded NYC 🍕. Also the cut they used had a streak of fat, that ate crunchy, if that makes sense. (Obvi this isn't the place to go for gourmet meat quality, I did break out in a rash from the pork. I am sensitive, when pork/chicken isn't fresh, my body knows before my nose!) Chopsticks were some of the best, they are pre-separated so less splinters. During winter, come early, eat fast. Seating inside is limited and cold, as front door is open.

Everything thing is fresh, but without of good flavor.
Nothing great. Pretty mediocre and predictable menu. I guess the pho soup is ok but don’t bother with anything else.
Service was aloof and rude , took more than half an hour before we got served
It's my opinion that a bowl of pho, spring rolls and a soda should not cost $40. Don't get me wrong, the food was good. Not great or poor but fine. The spring rolls were uninspired, pallid thin pork that was tasteless but were fresh and crunchy. The pho was also fine, a bit too many noodles. There are plenty of other pho options that are not as expensive that offer the same experience.
Pho noodle soup has a nice rich broth with hint of cinnamon and anise served with fresh bean sprouts, spicy jalapeno, Thai basil. The decor is very odd but it befits its name, Pho Cabin, with pictures of bears, elk and other sporadic animal pictures. The restaurant replaces a previous Vietnamese one, so it has the same look and feel with only animal pictures throwing off the clues. The only Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Los Altos means returning here again to try other dishes off the menu.
Great neighborhood pho kitchen. Standard fare, decent food, nothing spectacular though. Comfortable outdoor well spaced tables here. But they don't have heaters/heat lamps.
Good service (takeout), but a bit disappointed overall. Pho was a bit bland and the noodles came cut in uneven sized pieces that I couldn't pick up with chopsticks. Felt messy to eat with anything but a spoon.
Had lunches there quite a bit. Food was ok, but hard to find the waitors.
First time here place was alright but not authentic. I was close to closing and they ran out of pork. The two dishes I got were fried tofu with sweet chili sauce - kinda lack luster with flavoring overall I used hosin and spicy chili sauce to make up for flavoring the little side salad had no fish sauce at all and radish /carrots was limp like they were boiled and not marinated . The Bahn mi chicken was juicy but use wrong kind of bread and flavoring wasn’t really there at all . Had mayo on bottom and some kind of yellow sauce on top but did not have that authentic taste .also never seen bahn mi served with chips before. The prices are a bit expensive but might be expected for the location. Not wow or amazing , have to agree with another user review I’m not impressed with their food
Had high hopes based on the activity of the busy restaurant but was sorely disappointed in the food quality. Staff was friendly and Covid safe but that’s where the good ends. The Pho Ga (chicken Pho) was cold and the chicken was dried out pieces of leathery cardboard. Not edible. The broth was as bland as it gets and not indicative of real Pho. Pretty lackluster. The shrimp vermicelli: grilled shrimp was actually decent and the only edible part of my order. The noodles weren’t fully prepared and were clumped and didn’t come with enough sauce and what it came with was not fish sauce but a watery substitute. Overall a disappointing experience especially given the price. They could use a better ingredients and a better chef.
I only had a bowl of noodle soup here. From this experience, I won't be back. The noodle is way overcooked, meat quality is poor. There's too much spice in the broth, it's almost medicinal. The disposable chopsticks seem as big as toothpicks. They also didn't have proper spoons for use with noodle soup. To restaurant owner: invest in proper chopsticks and spoons!

The food is way below an average vietnamese restaurant. Definitely won't go back.
Took almost an hour to get two banh mi sandwiches. Food was average and no where worth the wait.
Decent food. But..... When it's 93 degrees outside, and your indoor thermostat says 86 it would be nice to turn on your a/c. Don't like sweating on my food!
Would strongly recommend Pho to Chau over this place. The food was not bad but definitely not good and would not return. I had the combo pho and my gf had a pork Bahn mi. The pork was a bit tough and the lemongrass marinade was not balanced, and bread was not very good. The pho was in a giant block and overcooked, the broth was not flavorful or complex, and the meat was very over cooked and tough.
Can't recommend, ordered the chicken banh mi and Vietnamese spring rolls, both were very bland, and the spring rolls were 90% rice noodles.
November 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM I ordered thinly sliced beef pho small size. However, the noodles broke the moment when I put my chopsticks on them, so it was difficult to pick up the noodles with chopsticks. I enjoy eating Pho, but this is my first time having such a bad experience.

Unbelievably horrible service. Do not come unless you have two hours for lunch. Unprofessional and unkind.
Very unprofessional service. We got there 30 min before close and they refused to seat us! Rude waiters. Mediocre food.
This place is horrible. The service is terrible and the staff is incredibly rude. We waited for almost 30 minutes just for someone to put water on the table. We also spotted insects. Overall, a horrible experience. Would not recommend wasting your time or money here.
Took forever to seat us and when they did, ignored us for over thirty minutes, while we watched them serve and accommodate people who arrived after us. Staff either ignored us or were rude to us when we said we were ready to order. Would not be visiting this establishment again.
Poor customer service. If you go even 30 min before closing (8:00 pm), they will not seat you! They dismiss you so you don’t wait to be seated. It’s like do you not want our business?
The service was great, the atmosphere is fun but “campy.” Yes, I couldn’t resist the pun. However, the overpriced food is off by a few degrees on a compass. The viet iced coffee had the wrong flavor and quantity, the sandwich had the wrong ingredients. The spring roll was interesting - the flavor and texture was good, although it needed a bit more greens (mint). It appears to have been wrapped by a novice; loost and sloppy. The dipping sauce was so wrong - peanut sauce, really!? Oh well, I tried it. lol
Very unprofessional service. We got there 30 min before close and they refused to seat us! Rude waiters. Mediocre food.
