Great service from our server Melissa. First time here. We will be back. Food was tasty, sauces where great, everything was good.
I went in there with low expectations because of the location. I was wrong. The restaurant is spacious, well decorated, and they made the dishes exactly how we wanted. Fantastic food and good service. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for reasonably priced great Indian food.
Delicious food (that is actually hot when you ask for it hot!), nice dining area, very reasonably priced for how much food you get (definitely leftovers). Also the staff is really sweet. I somehow left my credit card and didn’t realize until the following day - they held it until I could pick it up. Highly recommend!
Amazing Service, Delicious Food, and just an overall great experience. I’ve been dining at Indias Clay Pit for over 10 years and I enjoy it more and more each and every time does not matter if I go dine in at there beautiful establishment or order take-out. All of the food is fresh and delicious never had a complaint and look forward to it each and every week. Always a pleasure to have delicious authentic Indian food with all of the explosive flavors. I recommend everyone take a chance and try Indias Clay Pit to really see what they are missing out on.
Came close to midnight on a Tuesday, and the lovely atmosphere, food, and service surpassed my expectations for an establishment open this late. Hot, fresh, comforting food in a calming atmosphere with gentle music. Our waitress was so nice and calm which enhanced the experience more. Will definitely come back here again!
I have ordered twice here in the past week for large group orders, using UberEats. This restaurant really cares! I called to ask that they label each order. For the first order, they placed everyone's order in separate bags, labeled with names. The second order did not come with names, so they labeled each food item! Both times, they called to make sure my order was received and ok. I appreciate this restaurant so much! And the food is flavorful and lovely. Everyone was very happy with their meals! Thank you!!!
I've waited waaaaaaay too long to shout out the consistently best Indian food I've ever had in the SFV. I've ordered through their menu little by little on Postmates more times than I'm proud to admit, and I've literally never had a single bad bite. Even ordering through a shitty delivery system like Postmates, every order has always been correct, packed tight and kept super warm and fresh. My current rotation is either a paneer korma, lamb vindaloo, classic tikka, and as much paratha as I can eat. I've been a chef for years and honestly their paratha alone is one of the most simple but impressively delicious things I've ever had. It's so soft and perfectly salted, and comforting as hell. I love all their naan too, trust. But I've never had paratha like this anywhere else. It's closer to a thick, savory crepe consistency and goes with literally everything. Their samosas are wildly good, lamb is always my big favorite but the potatoes in the veggies ones are seasoned and cooked spot on. Honestly I could rant about everything on their menu. But honestly just pick anything you want and they'll nail it. Everything across the board is super flavorful, great portions, consistent, and super affordable. Best late night recovery meal after long-ass shifts, and enough variety that you could eat a new dish everyday for a month. Never been in for a meal in person, but it's on my list when I finally have some time off. This place deserves to thrive as a business, and y'all deserve to share how good this restaurant is.
This place was empty when I came in and I was pleasantly surprised because of how clean and nice everything looked. Then we tried the food… I was even more shocked that this place was empty because it was so delicious!!!! Please, if you love Indian food, this is a solid recommendation! Service was great as well! Very sweet people here. Would definitely come back!
I loved it 👌👌👌👍👍👍 Ordered Shrimp Biryani - $16 and Mango Lassi $4+.... Take out. Mango Lassi was creamy with the right balance of mango sweetness and creamy curd... Tasty 👌👌👌👌 Talking about Shrimp Biryani.... when I opened the package I was little disappointed as it had only the Box of Biryani with no additions... every restaurant till date that serves Biryani give an addition curd Raita mixed with onions , carrots etc or green curd chutney or a typical south Indian restaurant will give a spicy salan/curry as a side taste enhancer But this package did not had any of these... When I opened the Shrimp Biryani box, I noticed it is not that box that has all meat and spicy masala at the bottom and the top is overloaded with yellow white rice and caramalised onions... This one was different it looked like a Pilav.... garnished with coriander , green peas... nuts, dried grapes.. The Taste was really nice, subtle, balanced with spice, masala, sweetness, nuttyness.. Overall the taste was Fantastic .. Indian taste fusioned with persion flavors.. No Doubt everyone will love it... Delicious,,, generous quantity.. I counted and took pics of exact 9 big fat Shrimps well cooked... OVERALL TASTY.. VALUE FOR MONEY REASONABLE PRICE COMPARATIVE TO ANY OTHER RESTAURANTS FOR SHRIMP BIRYANI FOR THAT PRICE AND TASTE... HIGHLY RECCOMENDED... THEY ALSO GIVE YOU MENU CARD WITH SOME 15% off on next order... Will surely re visit... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORKS 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👌
My friends and I came late at night - around 9:30pm on a Sunday. We’ve eaten at this restaurant but only the location in Silverlake and not NoHo. The service and atmosphere here was wonderful. The food is just as amazing. Would definitely come back here if we lived closer (or whenever we’re in the area)!
Cute little place with good food. We got the “dinner for two” combination. You get samosas, chicken tandoori, rice, naan and your choice of two other dishes plus dessert. Everything was tasty and the service was great. Was not a fan of the $2 cc convenience fee so bring cash if you can. Whatever is in the green sauce bottle is AMAZING.
After choosing this restaurant because of mostly good reviews, we were disappointed. The cheese & garlic naan was good and our waiter was nice, but there were a lot of problems. The Tandoori Lamb Tikka was extremely dry & chewy. The Peas Pullao had no saffron; it was just white Basmati rice with peas at a much higher price. I ordered brown Basmati rice and received white. There were a generous amount of shrimp in the Shrimp Tikka Masala but the sauce didn't have the expected flavor mostly tasting of tomato paste. Both dishes were ordered mild which ended up meaning no spice at all. The wait time was pretty long with only one other table occupied. The Tandoori Lamb Tikka came out first and then we waited 5 more minutes for the Peas Pullao and other food to arrive. We asked for separate checks when we ordered, but a single check was brought plus the price of Basmati rice was more than on the menu. We would not recommend.
Slow service for dining in , Preference was given to online orders. It was Valentine’s Day dinner for me and my partner she ordered dal Makhani it was anything but Dal makhani tasted like can food . Asked Employee he said that’s how we make it here. Asked Employee if we can have a different dish Employee said it will take more time We are very busy with online orders. we did not enjoy our dinner at this restaurant will not go back and recommend to anybody.
We had an underwhelming experience here. First off, biriyani doesnt come with salna or raita . However we paid $3.99 for raita as we needed some yogurt for kids and it was given in a tiny sauce container-sized portion. Seriously? We also ordered a chicken appetizer, and the quantity was laughably small. Half the box was just salad — barely a few pieces of chicken, which felt like a rip-off. you expect a decent portion, not garnish passing off as food. Definitely not worth the money . Not recommending this place
I’ve visited many restaurants across California, but this was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had on 11 July 2025. The food quality was very disappointing — the Dal Makhani was overly salty, and the soup was extremely sour. When I politely mentioned the issue to the waiter, I was told, “That’s just how it tastes,” with no attempt to understand or address the concern. When I tried to oder something else, there was no staff present except one girl who seemed more focused on her phone than the customers. I had to call out multiple times, and she simply ignored me. The only saving grace was the naan, which tasted good — but unfortunately, that alone doesn’t make up for the poor overall experience.
