My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Normandie for five days recently. We’re not normally donut people but we got coffee and donuts most mornings at Donut King across the street. I liked that their donuts and coffee were very fresh and ready at 6 am and the staff are super friendly. Our favorite donut was the raised twist donut with nut sprinkles!

Fantastic little shop! The donuts were yum and the service super friendly and upbeat! Everyone in there had such a warm vibe that I wish I could visit more often. Definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

I visited this place right after trying the Old Ferry Donut. I really enjoyed both. This place is more of your classic donut place, but it’s done really well! No old oil flavor, the bread is light and fluffy, and those bear claws…boy oh boy they’re the best I’ve ever had! Like I said, the bread is light but that bear claw had some heft! They weren’t afraid to really stuff those things. Highly recommend if you’re passing by.

Donuts here are ALWAYS fresh! I love this shop. The raspberry filled donuts are absolutely the best! The shop owner is a sweet lady who always greets you with a smile. A dozen of Donut King's donuts is a great price. Where I've spent up $50 elsewhere a $20 bill gets a dozen and leaves a few dollars for a tip. This is a cash only store but they have an ATM in the lobby. Parking isn't always easy, I would suggest Street parking and walking a block or two but it's well worth it!

The donuts are always on point, especially the cinnamon roll. Drinks are very good and the service from the lady is always outstanding! She knows how to vibe (her playlist is so good lol) BTW you never go wrong with #17 breakfast 👌

I loved this place; the woman who was always behind the counter was incredibly friendly and even sometimes added a little extra treat to the bag, which was very kind. A simple shop with excellent donuts, great freshly prepared bagels (I liked the one with egg, cheese, avocado, and tomato), and affordable prices.

Unlike Joe's, their donuts are not as dense and instead soft and fluffy. However, otherwise it's pretty similar. Donut King isn't too sweet. I was only able to try the vanilla sprinkle and glazed. Both were delicious. And oh so affordable in this day and age. Can't wait to come back and try some other stuff!

Ask for one without the bug, and she’ll kindly(?) snap, “They’re all the same.” Pick a different donut, and she’ll treat you to a kindergarten-style English lesson by making you repeat the word “chocolate.” Perfect for anyone who wants a free vocabulary class, terrible hygiene, and a ruined appetite — all in one visit!
