You gotta love LA for the hidden 💎gems you can find in so many strip malls around town. Iki Ramen’s Koreatown location is one such spot, an oasis of serenity and deliciousness just behind its door. I briefly wanted to gate-keep IKI bc it’s a small restaurant but of course I’m not! 😝 I originally went to the Hollywood location for ramen, which was delicious and comforting but not too heavy. But I definitely left wanting to come back for all the sushi that was also on the menu. And am I glad I did! Fresh fresh is a must and a given. You can start w appetizers like the well-salted edemame, miso black cod, or the house made, uniquely delicious MISO SOUP. Then take your pick from the many hand/cut rolls, signature rolls and sashimi offerings. They even have a few Bao “sandwiches” w ebi katsu, soft shell crab, pork and others. But DO NOT skip the IKI GRAB HANDROLLS! Especially the PREMIUM one! The nori comes stacked separately from the mounds of rice and fish (or wagyu beef or scallops) so that you can leisurely (without worry of your nori getting soggy) put together your handroll. They were kind enough to cut each well portioned handroll “stuffing” into twos bc we were splitting it. Each one was incredible!!! The light touch of sauce/ seasoning is in perfect harmony with the fish/beef/scallops and absolutely melts in your mouth. Don’t forget to save a little room for their delicious desserts. My favorite was the not-too-sweet black sesame crème brûlée. The minimal concrete & wood decor plus the attentive but not hovering and friendly service lets you focus on the food. I cannot gosh enough about what is now, for sure, my ⭐️ FAVORITE SUSHI 🍣 RESTAURANT in Los Angeles!! They recently opened Iki Nori also in Hollywood and I can’t wait to try that one too!
Haven’t tried the ramen yet but will be back for it! Service was caring and comfortable. Beautifully presented food. The most interesting cocktail list! The Dashi martini was so unique I had to try it.
My friend was right: the food was fantastic (toro sashimi, halibut sushi and blossom roll) and the service was excellent. This tiny restaurant was a great choice for pre-Wiltern event dinner. I look forward to going back for the ramen, which looked delicious. I suggest making a reservation.
Delicious, fresh and sweet sushi with clean and deeply flavorful ramen. Delicious yuzu sake drink as well! Amazing place!
A great little gem deep in a ktown strip mall where you wouldn't expect this kind of food. It's rare to find a restaurant that serves great ramen and refined sashimi dishes, but Iki nails both. It's a small restaurant that is simple but gets the job done and service is usually pretty efficient. The food is really the star though and worth a visit.
Love this place. I usually do delivery but I was able to take my partner here for an omekase dinner that didn't disappoint. I only docked 1 star from atmosphere (for a total of 4) because the space is small and –when crowded– it was hard to hear the description of each course. We kind of just went with it and enjoyed what we were eating but only knew bits and pieces of what they said.
Service was super fast and very welcoming. Small location and parking is valet only so be prepared. Uber there or get dropped off The ramen was soooooo good, my friend took me here for my bday and even he liked it. He’s not easily impressed either so that’s saying something. We started with avocado rolls and Gyozas then the spicy chicken ramen 😋 Next, ima take my sister
Came here for a late-night dinner and was pleasantly surprised with a calm, aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. I tried the A5 Wagyu beef ramen, being absolutely delicious! It is a bit on the pricey side, which was expected with Wagyu, but was definitely worth it. Will be coming back !
Iki Ramen was a great time. I had no idea that the owner also owns a sushi restaurant, so they did a great job with the seafood dishes. We enjoyed the mentaiko mazeman (more so than the uni version because it had stronger flavors), premium kaisendon, and the salmon burrata.
Delicious delicious delicious. The texture of the fish was really great. The pork belly bao was really tasty. The Uni Mazemen was so creamy and tasty, the noodles had a good bite to them. The Scallop sushi was sooo great.
Good experience 👍🏻 Their chashu don bowl was good too. /no pic, was hungry 🤤 and delicious, price was good/ And chicken ramen 🍜🧡🙂↔️perfect very little spicy Black garlic one was good meat was tender 😋
OKAY. Let me tell you. This place is one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to in the states. Their sashimi and sushi tastes so fresh and so good — better than those $200+ omakase sashimis. I got the Kaisen don and the salmon grab roll. I originally came here to try their ramen, but their sushi caught me by surprise and exceeded my expectations. Their ramen is also very good (got the garlic black tonkatsu). Their noodles, especially, remind me of Ichiran’s noodles — thin but bouncy. I am DEFINITELY coming back to try everything else on their menu. I love how everything came out in a relatively short amount of time. Service was quick and attentive. I love the vibes of this store too. Quiet and pretty spacious for a small store.
The sushi here is delicious and fresh, the service is good very welcoming . I came here looking for Japanese Suchi with my son and they did not disappoint. There valet parking only, 3$ we came around 4pm and it was not crowded they sat us quickly and served at a good time. I recommend it here we ordered Suchi and ramen.
The flavors were 🔥 The spicy tonkatsu ramen was delicious! Oh! Tip: Add ur name to the waitlist before getting there. Expect a 35-45 minute wait. This is a busy dining area!
Went for lunch with a friend. It has a cozy vibe with natural wood furnishings. The service was very friendly and attentive. They were even kind to the mailman who came to drop off the mail. The food tasted so good!!! Had the cod roe ramen without broth, friend had the uni one and both were fantastic. Had the ice cream and the black sesame mousse for dessert and it blew my tastebuds/mind. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu!
The omakase was worth it compared to other omakase places. We booked this place about a month in advanced but they were kind enough to fit in my other friend last minute 🙏 The appetizers were a lot better than the sushis! Sushi rice was a bit mushy but the fish was very fresh!
My friends and I did the Omakase 8 course meal, and it was 10000% worth it. It was eye-opening how delicious every single bite was!! The staff were very very attentive and thoroughly explained each dish to us. The only downside to this is that we are from the East Coast, so I have no idea when I will have the pleasure of enjoying this again. After completing the meal, we were all in a state of bliss!!

Tried Iki Ramen and it definitely hit the spot. The broth was rich and flavorful and the noodles had great texture. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced and the portions were solid. Service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Really good place for ramen and I would for sure come back again. Highly recommend salmon burrata and uni mazemen

Love the tonkatsu ramen! The broth was refined, full bodied and silky, flavorful and light. Just right! Noodles were a bit firm though for my tastes although I did eat them. Overall I really enjoyed this cozy small family establishment. Nothing too commercial about it. Restroom was small but clean.

Went with my wife. Atmosphere is great. Our server was very polite. Served us our food. We ordered Ramen. Vegan spicy miso Ramen was overly spicy. There was no level or spiciness but it was delicious spicy. Next was Wagyu Ramen. Flavor-wise was great. One downside was the Wagyu meat was not convincing as it was 2 thin slice. I did not expect to pay $32 for wagyu thin slice Ramen. Lastly, dessert. Matcha and sesame were top notch delicious. Great for sharing for 2 people.

Unfortunately, things have changed. The Grab hand roll Set used to be 8 small nigiri style sushi bites with actual slices of fish, but now it is 4 ridiculously large pieces with ground/chopped fish. Shrinkflation + using scraps is a huge let down because their fish was always a huge win. Their sashimi and nigiri options were still the perfect traditional size and the fish was fresh, however I cannot look past the disappointing and disastrous change of what used to be the best thing on the menu. A staple for years, but change is not always good.
