Food was amazing, fresh, and like a home cooked meal
Great spot for drinks and authentic cuisine. Really friendly, lively atmosphere. My absolute favorite spot in all of American at Brand.
I love it here. I got the la Fuente steak and it was so yummy and juicy. Also got the taquitos.
Love this place! Great food. This is our favorite family meet up place! Breakfast is delicious!!
Good food. One of the last places that offers soup or salad with a meal!! Decent price.😉
This is home style cooking made with love. Even the rice has flavor. Something most restaurants don't take the time to do

Always order to take out. Same great service from ownership of 40 years.
Very good food. I recommend to anyone try Camarones a la Diabla or Rancheros you Won't be disappointed.
Fig is changing...this place has been there through it all and it comes across in the ambiente and the food. Love the Huevos Rancheros!
Food was delicious and came out quickly. Staff was really kind!
Home made authentic Mexican food and good service; you feel like family...what more could we ask for?

One of a family chain of really good Mexican Food in Highland Park anything is very good
The elegance of dinning out .... right by the fireplace. Family, friends & delicious food. So divine.
One of my absolute favorites. I love the enchiladas and the machaca is just amazing.
Real mexican food. Not frufru!! I felt like I was eating at my tia's house. So good. Love spicy!!! I had the camarones a la diabla. It made my nose run which is a great sign of 🔥 for me and others who like it hot. But they have mild dishes as well (if that's your thing) We will be back.
I've lived in Los Angeles for decades and while there are Mexican restaurants every where I never found one I thought was very good. Rice was dry, beans had no flavor. Well, get in the car, fasten your seat belt and drive to La Fuenta Restaurant in Highland Park on Figueroa. OMG!! Family owned and run it is the BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN LOS ANGELES!!
Childhood favorite restaurant. Nothing beats it. I live out of town now but I'm looking forward to my next visit! Service and food is always great and reliable.
Great place been a costumer for years Great food 🍲 had me a Cosido its a beef soup very fresh and delicious 😋 with vegetables. Great service very clean injoyed my self.
Beyond Amazing, great food been a family favorite for over 30 years, Chicken Mole is GREAT, personal favorite is shrimp mojos de ajo BEST FLAVOR, great abondiga soup... don't miss out!
So yammi testy my dish, was enchilada with tangy souse. It's like complete food dish, with salad, beans, rice, enchilada and the two souses !!! I really really enjoyed this dish.I recommend to my friends for this restaurant.
Food is great service is wonderful very helpful and attentive. Will come back again!
I've been going to La Fuente's for over twenty years. I love the food the customer service because they never let your bowl of chips go empty.
Amazing mexican food! Definitely coming by again.
Had a great time with my family on a Sunday afternoon here. The food was really good, and I'm always happy when complimentary salsa is given!
Always great food and service. Been going for over 20 years... still good.
Great food and great service. Have been going here since I can remember and always great .
It's so awesome this place is still around. I used to come here as a kid with my family on Sunday's after church. Now I'm bringing my family and the food is hasn't changed one bit.
Always fresh food. Taste like homemade. Good service friendly waitress. Go there frequently.
Green chicken enchiladas are delicious. Also their albondiga soup is always delicious. Definitely recommend.
Food is always amazing..
This restaurant definitely stays true to its five stars. Stopped in here after I did a job in South Pasadena picked up a combination carnitas and asada burrito with beans and cheese inside completely delicious! The carnitas were crispy oh my God just the way I love them you can tell it was very fresh. Another thing I wanted to mention you can always tell a good Mexican restaurant by the chips they serve. You know those light thin flaky tortilla chips that you know are absolutely fresh. So delicious some Mexican restaurants have those really thick heavy tortilla chips they give you theyre cold taste like oil this place has got the goods for sure thank you again I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!
I am a bike DoorDasher, so when I selected the order, I thought, "six items, not usually a problem." I had to have them repack the order from a fruit box to two brimming, knotted. plastic bags. And they seemed fine with it, so for portion size and niceness, 5 stars.
The food is authentic and delicious. They offer classic Mexican combinations as well as some wonderful more creative gourmet dishes. The butterflied shrimp in garlic butter alongside rice & beans is a favorite!
Zero complaints here every single thing is amazing staff is so sweet everything hot and homemade my go to.
LOVE this place!!! Especially the guacamole with chips my daughters and I order on every. single. visit! Delicious, authentic Mexican food. I've been coming since I was a kid, almost 30 yrs. Recommend this place very much!
Tastes just like home cooking! If you want a good soup the Posole is perfect! The beef taquitos are really good plus they use real avocados! 🥑
I've lived in Highland Park my whole life and had never gone to La Fuente until my husband's grandpa who knows the owner took us there. You NEED to try the birria. I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner!
Just had the BEST beef taquitos. They used real avocados and didnt use fillers like onions or tomatoes to make it seem you were getting more gucamole. I will come back .
Pozole was delicious! And the super burrito de lengua was also great! Definitely recommend 👍👍
Loved their caldo de Camarones. perfect soup to combat the coldness of all climates.

Solid long time Highland Park Mexican spot serving consistently good food. Staple meals, plus very good birria de chivo. Good service parking in the back. Still holding out from being gentrified, show this place some love and stop in for a good home cooked meal!
I was looking for a delicious caldo and this place did not disappoint! The staff were so nice too! I will definitely be going back
thebest food and best service always
No words can express my love for this restaurant. I’ve been coming here since I was child; if I had to approximate I’d say 21 years. They’re staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is always perfect; I highly recommend the Carne Asada plate. In addition, they’re prices are reasonable. Up to now, I’ve never had any issues with this place and I plan to keep coming here until the day I die.
I was really hungry in the morning, and I got to the restaurant 30 minutes early, they had no problem inviting me in and taking my order. My overall experience felt warm and inviting, I will definitely be coming back! Food was great as well!
I’ve lived on the eastside of LA for over 20+ yrs & last night was my first time discovering & eating here. When I tell you that this place has some delicious Mexican food it would be an understatement. First off their pico de gallo & deep red salsa were slamm’n. First impressions count so after those delicious chips & salsa I had a real good feeling that the food was gonna hit. Also they had so many kinds of beer I lost count when the lovely server listed them off to me. I ordered the basa fish fillet w/garlic mojo that came w/the sopa de albóndigas (or salad if you desire). Everything was seasoned to perfection w/passion & authenticity. Chef’s kiss 😘 My friend ordered the chicken mole enchiladas which were so delicious as well & I’m not usually a huge fan of mole. We were impressed!! I’m sad I didn’t know about this place before, on a whim I said let’s try it because I wanted to support an OG local business. Sadly I see that LA has quickly been losing its OG institutions that make this city unique & special. We’ve gotta support these places so they don’t disappear. I’ll definitely be back soon 💯p.s we came in on a Monday & they closed at 8pm

There customer service is great the place is clean but i order a giant burrito with avocado like i always do the avocado was black it taste hurable and i paid extra for avocado i hope they look at my rating
Neighborhood mainstay. Been in business in Highland park for over 25yrs. Love the Machaca con Heavos. You won't be disappointed.
Its the best especially there taquitos with guacamole . Very good food try it sometime..
The place is Abit older and nothing fancy, but the food was very good and the people were very nice
Not bad for a local place. Wet bureto with Caritas green sauce not bad and huge serving.
Friendly staff. Great breakfast options and great guacamole. Iced tea is perfect.
It's very busy here so it's best to order ahead for takeout. If you are coming to eat in, be prepared for 20 minute waits. Everyone is friendly, so that's a good sign of how well they treat their staff.
GARLIC GRILLED SHRIMP SERVED WITH RICE AND BEANS AND A SALAD. THATS MY FAVORITE. SHRIMP CLEANED. MEXICAN FOOD PLACE HERE. FAMILY OWNED. SERVICE IS GOOD.THEIR SALSA IS GREAT AND AVOCADO DIP DELICIOUS.IF U LIKE MEXICAN FOOD THIS IS ONE PLACE YOU WILL LIKE.
Due to work schedule i don't get to go there much like i used to......food is excellent & the service is outstanding.....the small problem is the parking....they have 6-8 spaces free parking the rest is city meter parking.
It's always nice to have some authenticity in your neighborhood. Good food and friendly staff. La Fuente is always nice to go eat.
Good, mostly standard Mexican food. Easy to have a quiet meeting over lunch. Attentive waiters, reasonable prices.
Great family joint! We go for the fried snapper my home girl and I usually share it sith some chips and salsa for lunch! The waitress needs to cheer up a bit but it was great we were able to watch the soccer tournaments!
Old school no nonsense and my dish was excellent. Reduced one star... a 12 oz. can of coke for nearly $3. Give me break. That should still be a buck in August 2018
Food is good, today it may have been sitting under the heat lamp for a bit too long. Still a solid option and I’ll be back. The service is great, very attentive. There’s a parking lot behind the restaurant
What you would expect from a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles as traditional menu, done solid.
The food was d eeelicious and the service was excellent, Ignassia was our server and she was very very sweet❤

We stopped in on a cold Friday in November. Modelos and Albondigas to start, then entrees. I had the ‘La Fuente Steak’ smothered in delicious salsa verde. Excellent service and great food from a legacy HLP establishment.
Good food and courteous customer service. There was no wait time to sit inside the restaurant. However, with indoor and outdoor seating, it seemed that they were under staffed and we waited a bit longer than expected to get our order in and the drinks. They have done some remodeling by removing booths and replacing them with distanced tables and chairs.
Nice restaurant and great ambience! The wait staff were friendly and brought the food out quickly. The burrito I ordered was good and not too salty. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some great Mexican food in Highland Park!

Food was ok.... definitely a default restaurant if you can't find anything else to eat.
It's not that bad. Several foods are canned foods. The "fresh flavored waters" are not authentic meaning are not made from scratch (artificial flavors)
The food lacked flavor. The rice and tortillas tasted steal. The people were in a hurry to leave.
It’s just meh, the burrito wasn’t packed fully, I felt like the burrito was just not worth the price and you can definitely get a better burrito at a hole in the wall type place for like $8 bucks. A bland place
Food was really bland. The place kind of smells bad. Service was good. Beans made with lard
Food was cool not what I'm use to as far as Mexican, my parents like it enough to go once a month or so. Not my first pick for eating out, but it was okay. I had the "spicy" green chilaquiles, not spicy full of actual chiles, which to me is gross. I like the salsa very well blended. My kid is a rice an beans lover and even she didn't finish her plate. My brother had the spicy red chilaquiles he never gets red and he really liked it cleaned his plate. The service is friendly and pretty attentive.
Ordered delivery through ChowNow. Not so great it was meh. Hard shell Tacos were cracked and soggy. Looked like Nachos instead and portions were pathetic/small. Paid too much money for a 2 star restaurant. Won't be giving these guys my buisness again.
Decent place for lunch. Was not crowded during the lunch break on Friday if that is any indication of popularity in a saturated community of Mexican dining establishments. Everywhere and at every turn and corner there was another Mexican food restaurant. This one was ok. The salsa was good and hot, but missed a flavor grandma used to use back in Mexico. Come for a quick bite, food is served hot and fast. Owner is very approachable and kind to you for visiting his establishment and looks forward to seeing you again.

The salad was old not fresh the man who waited on us was rude I been going there for yes and this time it was bad
Last visit was disappointing. Asked for the lengua in chile verde. I got lengua reheated in the deep fryer with sala verde poured on top. Everything else was good including service but the serving was disappointing.
well, it's new management as of a few months. I'm surprised at the crickets about it here. I came back from vacation to step into The Twilight Zone. everything looked familiar as I've known it for 20 years, the same excellent family staff ..but something has changed. then I knew what it was.. economizing, like the place has been touched by corporate. chips and salsa now come from a bag and plastic pitcher ..and are no longer complimentary (you get some with a dish though). edible, but a turn for the worse. prices are up, no surprise there. there's an ok bar menu now and the old menu is still there. the old menu is soon to be "revised." this does not bode well by what I've seen. only time will tell. I'll go visit again soon in hopes they can pull out of that dive 😎😋🍻 update ~5/2025- so they've crashed and burned. now that the new management have gone after the old main menu it's all over. I consider the food beyond bad, not safe to eat, barely recognizable. the bar's still ok as of 3 months ago ..for chips-n-salsa and booze only. I won't be going for anything now on basic principle, a real tragedy, until there's maybe word about ..new management 😎🍸

The meat on the nachos is chorizo. The "margarita" is some sweet wine with Marg mix or something. I literally just puked after I ate there.
People were nice but food not so great, and plus there was a hair in my food. The waitress who came and got the plates before we left was told about it and she didn't say anything so we told the other waitress n they gave us a discount.
The menudo was cold and the price was just horrible. My dad ordered 2 menudos, birria, and beans with tortillas, it was 50$. Never coming here again.
These people don’t remove bone fragments from the birria had 4 quesadillas with birria and a soup of birria and every item had bone fragments in them and in fact my mother hurt her elderly gums by getting impaled by a small bone fragment in her top gums, and we paid just under $75 for just 5 items - I wouldn’t have mind but the customer service was also awful, I called ahead of time to place the order and the person handling my order didn’t even place my order so when I got there to pick it up it wasn’t even placed, I just can’t with them I had a bad experience my first time visiting and this being my second is definitely my last because of the bone fragments - completely careless establishment I’m sorry. Would not recommend.
I ordered chicken soup from this dump and got chicken in water, onions, vegetables not cooked. I should have went to the market and got Campbell's soup instead of this soup kitchen garbage.
Ordered on line for delivery. Was taking too long called Person on phone was rude o hung up! Order.had to be tossed. What a bad exprience
Waitress asked us if we want more salsa but she didn't inform us that it will cost $3.15 for the tiny bowl of salsa. Even when she brought my bill she didn't tell me. When I asked her if they accept credit card she said "yes" but she didn't inform me that they charge 4 percent service charge on the credit card transaction. Chicken enchiladas were very salty. I don't recommend this place. I will not return to this place ever again
