My friend and I flew into LA for her birthday weekend. We decided to dine at Seoul Salon 1988 after a relaxing day at SpaLA. First, the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, staff had great energy and the i love the esthetic. Our food was absolutely amazing. Seafood ramen was soo aoo good, full of great taste and perfect level of spice. My friend loved her hamburger steak and shrimp tempura appetizer made me a 2nd to go. BUT the chefs house special steak made me want to lick the plate. Im not sure it was chargrilled or what but I was eyeballing that last piece, lol. Going back to take our friend cause it was that good. Glad we came. Went back Friday night because it was that good 😍 ate the hamburger steak before we could take pics, lol
First off, the ambiance was just perfect. It strikes a balance between modern chic and cozy comfort. The sleek, contemporary design sets the tone for an elegant dining experience, while the warm lighting and comfortable seating make you feel right at home. The outdoor seating area proved to be a brilliant choice. The temperature was just perfect, and it allowed us to relish our meal while basking in the fresh air and natural surroundings. What impressed us most was the impeccable service. Even though we were seated outside, the attentive staff ensured we were never forgotten. They consistently checked in to see if we needed refills or anything else, making us feel truly valued as customers. Now, let's talk about the drinks. I decided to go with the Haeundae Blue cocktail, a delightful concoction made with rum, coconut milk, and pineapple juice. Not only did it taste heavenly, but its striking blue color made it a perfect candidate for Instagram-worthy photos. The balance of flavors was just right, with the alcohol content not overpowering the tropical essence. As for the food, we couldn't resist sampling some of their offerings. We ordered the fried chicken & fries, and it was a decision we didn't regret. The fried chicken was expertly prepared, boasting a crispy exterior that gave way to succulent, juicy meat inside. The fries were golden and seasoned to perfection, making for an ideal accompaniment to our drinks.
What a great find! Before the K-con convention we wanted to try some comfort Korean food (not the typical K-bbq). The places that were recommended had 1-hour wait times so we walked a bit and found this restaurant without any wait. My favorite dish was their tteobokki...oh so cheesy and flavorable. Mom's Touch Army Stew was massive - can feed 5pp! And we had the bulgogi fried rice. Needless to say, we had lots of take-home. Service was understaffed so if you're not in a hurry and have time to eat these huge portions and drink watermelon soju all night, then it's worth a visit.
Celebrated an event at Seoul Salon with my teammates and had the best time!☺️ This lowkey spot is the perfect place to host a large group dinner since it’s in the middle of a lot of bars/clubs in Ktown. Also, it’s not too loud inside and has an intimate setting so you can hangout with friends in a comfy space☺️ 🍽️Ordered: 1. Seafood marinara pasta 💰28 2. Pork belly & shishitos💰35 3. Garlic popcorn chicken (x2) 💰25 4. Mentaiko spaghetti 💰25 5. Skewers Platter (x2) 💰28 6. Tteokbokki 💰24 7. Watermelon soju “cocktail” 💰24 8. Truffle fries 💰14 9. (Not pictured) 10+ soju bottles 🤣 💰15 each (before discount) 10. Corn cheese 💰15 The service here was great since the staff was rly accommodating to our party of 12 and helped combine 3 tables for us 🙏🏻 The food here was also really solid and my favs were the: mentaiko spaghetti and garlic popcorn chicken🤤 The drinks were also flowing allll night so that made the food taste even better🤣👀 Overall, this was such a fun & memorable night I’ll be back again💃🏻 💡Tips: -come on Thursdays for pregaming bc all soju is 20% off!🤩 -there is a small parking lot in back and the restaurant validates -rly good for large parties
Bartenders skill was so good, also she is so kind and kind of liked the restaurant whole vibe
The staff was very attentive and caring. The food was amazing and delicious like the seafood pasta, rose teokbokki, and spring marinara pasta. The aesthetic was amazing and the booths were so cute. Really liked the strawberry rice wine.
✨I was transported back in time at Seoul Salon, located in the heart of Los Angeles’ Koreatown✨ We had: 🫓Bulgogi Quesadilla (tortilla, cheese, beef bulgogi), 🦀Crab Meat Seafood Cream Pasta (crab meat, mussels, shrimp, clams, squid, red onion, heavy cream), 🌶️Spicy Rice Cake Tteokbokki (rice cake, fish cake, cabbage, egg, Korean spicy paste), 🦐Gambas (marinated shrimp, olive oil, lemon, bread), 🍢Skewers (pork belly and sausages/rice cake), 🍗Garlic Popcorn KFC (fried chicken and French fries), 🍟Truffle French Fries, 🍓Strawberry Soju (fresh strawberries, soju, lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup)
Just came for drinks! 20 oz Watermelon soju was super refreshing. Yuzu mojito during happy hour was also delicious! Red dot was great too.
Very fun atmosphere and amazing food! Enjoyed a birthday celebration and was perfect for the 7 of us.
Great food, cocktails, good price, good atmosphere, excellent service, nice Friday evening live Jazz.

Bartender girl is so cute and kind🔥🔥🔥
Stopping by from Chicago, and full from a kbbq dinner in LA, we weren’t sure what to expect. I’ve seen this place on social media but the encounters I had here were very genuine and underrated with the publicity they should be receiving! If I’m ever back in LA, this is a stop for sure. Shout out to the bartender Danny!
Great food, great service, and awesome energy all around! I decided to check it out after hearing good things, and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the 1988 steak and Namsan pork cutlet and everything was absolutely delicious. The steak was super savory, perfectly cooked, and the sauce on top was amazing. Dipping it in the flavored salt made it even better. The pork cutlet was crispy and savory. Everything was well-super delicious and satisfying. Ellie was the best! So friendly and attentive. She really made the experience even more enjoyable. Great food and amazing service, I'll definitely be coming back!

I love the fact that Google Maps integration with OpenTable makes reservations really easy here! Let me say that the decor here is really interesting! Reminiscent of 1930s settings, it's kinda' cool! Their food are really modern and unique, so it really stands out compared to foods in the area, just like their decor does. So this is a nice place to take your date to. We were very slow, so I want to thank the staff for being very patient with us. Then again they did tack on an 18% because we were over 5 people. My friend that sat next me complained that went against SB478, so they might want to update their written menus to display that, and give their future patrons a reminder. Other thing you may want to be aware of is when you split the bill, they can accept up to 3 cards at most, and it has to be split evenly. If you need everything itemized and separated into different bills, you need to tell them ahead of time. Also, if you take the receipt to Caffe Concerto, you get a 10% off. Keep in mind when it comes to paying the bill, you need to make sure you let them know ahead of time that the bill should be separated as well.
a tavern themed Korean restaurant that has some really excellent crafted drinks you should try. I recommend the yuzu mojito and the miss Korea. They also specialize in Korean Italian fusion dishes like their variety of pastas. I got their crab and seafood pasta and omg it was SO garlicky. Every bite was full of flavor and the pasta was al dente. Their yuzu brisket salad was also tasty and interesting but I would put the dressing on the side. I also got their oven roasted pork belly which I thought fell short. The pork wasn’t too tender and lacked flavor without the soy sauce it would have been too bland. Let me know what you guys think!
Great place with super nice, 1950s vibes, and fantastic decor. Special shooutout to Mini, a great bartender that always displays exceptional customer service and has good language skills in her native Korean, English and even a bit of Spanish. The place is open till late, the food is delicious and the drinks are good. Not much else to say!
Extremely accommodating and helpful staff. Intimate booths for privacy and good selection of Korean dishes.

Us: got the Korean stew. This place has some odd menu type. It serves so many different dishes that it's hard to figure out what their major focus is. Others: the place is a bit fancy looking but I think the price doesn't justify the quantity or the quality. It's a good place for Instagram type of place but the whole place was pretty empty. Owners: the rice portions are the smallest I've ever seen.
Shrimp rice was decent but popcorn chicken had too much batter. Overall ok. Inside booths are good.

I want to express my indignation with the restaurant. My husband and I went for a drink to say goodbye to the city and unfortunately ended up being embarrassed by the man at the bar. When paying the bill, we chose the $2 tip option (I know it's not much, but I don't have to, and in my country, $2 costs six times more). But we consumed beers and drinks, which in itself was a hefty expense. The guy said to us, "Seriously? You sat at my bar and you do that? Don't do that!" When I tried to speak, he interrupted me and said, "It doesn't matter." It was very embarrassing. I wouldn't go back even if they paid me. I spent five days in Las Vegas and four in L.A. and didn't experience this embarrassment. The place was empty, it was a Wednesday. There was no competition for seats; there was no need for that.
This restaurant is under new management and my recent dining experience here was not pleasant. We had a large party and to make paying the bill easier, I asked our waiter to separate the bill for our end of the table, 6 people total. He told us because of that our food will be delayed coming out. 90 minutes later, our food has not come out while the rest of our friends all got their food. I don't understand how asking to have a bill separate from the main group means that we don't get our food in a reasonable amount of time. Due to the waiting and hunger, I asked for the single entree I ordered to be cancelled so I can go elsewhere. The waiter confirmed my item wll be cancelled and I went to the restaurant next door to eat instead. 15 minutes later I was seated at a new restaurant and had my food in front of me, I texted my friends who were still waiting for their food and didn't leave and they said because one single entree was cancelled, they everyone cancelled food. Which is extremely ridiculous! I been to Seoul Saloon in the past and it was great. Good potential and food with this restaurant, but current service and organization is terrible. I do not recommend this restaurant and will always suggest going to another place instead of here.
