Another Monday. Same work rhythm, new spot. Stopped by Tuscan Son around lunchtime, not far from Beverly Hills — one of those places you notice when you’re in the area and think, why not. Walked in expecting table service, but quickly realized it works more like a café: grab a menu, pick your food, order at the counter. Totally fine, just not obvious at first. I’ll be honest — tipping before the service and before the food arrives still feels strange to me. Maybe I’m spoiled by European-style service, maybe it’s just a cultural thing. Not a dealbreaker, just something worth knowing. I went with a creamy cheese muffin, a latte, and Pollo ai Funghi. You choose a side with the chicken, and of course I picked the roasted potatoes. Total came out to $42.28. Credit where it’s due: the guy at the register was solid. Calm, professional, explained the menu clearly, suggested options, and helped me make a decision without pushing anything. That matters. Coffee and the muffin came out almost immediately, which was both nice and slightly dangerous — I had to resist finishing everything before the main dish showed up. I did start the latte anyway… couldn’t help it. The muffin survived. Barely. About ten minutes later, the chicken arrived. And honestly — it was excellent. Juicy chicken, mushrooms in a rich tomato-based sauce, everything balanced and comforting. The potatoes were good too, though I still don’t quite understand why ketchup was included. It didn’t need it. Overall? Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Clean restroom (always appreciated). Nice interior. Smooth experience. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I come back regularly? Probably not. It’s a solid 5-star place, especially if you’re nearby or passing through. Just not the kind of spot I’d go out of my way for — and that’s okay.
Fantastic! We went here for coffee after our burger dinner and noticed the elaborate menu and nice dishes served. We'll be back for those but the coffee was great. Nice service as well.
Great spot for a healthy feeling lunch with relaxed indoor and outdoor seating. The chicken avocado sandwich had noticeably fresh ingredients, bread and simple but not plain side salad. Fresh watermelon juice was fresh. Friendly service as well
My previous review below. Further accolades tonight: Tuscan's unpretentious bistecca is among the finest steaks in L.A. And the manager is the consummate host. -------------- Bravissimo! Food quality & presentation, service, atmosphere, and value all excel. This will remain a permanent saved location in my google maps. From my personal experience, I recommend the steak, brussels sprouts, spinach, side salad, cheesecake, and banana bread. But I'm certain the excellence does not stop there. Especially appreciated is the quiet atmosphere.
This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem ! The dishes are very authentic Italian cuisine. It’s a small location with bar style seating facing the window. They have their own baker, coffee selection and wines. There’s parking on the street , however there’s also validated parking out back. The macaroni & cheese is definitely a dish I recommend it was DELICIOUS!
I would give this place six stars if I was able to. It was so good. The quality of the food as well as the flavor was very good. The only thing is is that I just added more salt to the steak and the eggs and it turned out amazing. The Gladiator breakfast was superb and the steak was cooked perfectly as requested. Just needed a little salt which we had. The crisp on the steak was perfect on the outside of the steak. We had a coffee and cream cheese muffin to go and it was probably the best tasting one I’ve ever had. The caramelization of the outside of the muffin was top-notch. The inside was very soft and moist. The cream cheese was not too sweet and very creamy. The coffee had great flavor and even without sugar it tasted nice. Highly highly recommend Tuscan Son ❤️👌
Cute little Cafe. Eating spots outside. Had the rigatoni burrata. Was excellent. Also had the bolognese was equally delicious. Staff was polite and coffee and deserts are great too. Street parking only. Will return
We felt a need to try something new for lunch today and we decided on Tuscan Son - what a gem!! Very kind and attentive service and wonderful food!! I got the garden frittata followed up with carrot cake - fantastic meal! Make sure to enjoy your potatoes - they are crisp fantastic!!
Food was amazing! Pasta dishes were excellent and the desert was perfect. Can't wait to come back.

Out of towner throwing up a 5 star review for Tuscan Son’s A+ counter staff. Stopped in twice today (for breakfast and then pastries because breakfast had been so good!). Really wanted to try the bread pudding but after I ordered the staff realized they didn’t have fresh enough bread pudding to serve. Commend them for their integrity and not trying to sell me something not fresh - when everything is made from scratch in house, sometimes you’re going to have to 86 things!! The Tuscan egg sandwich (Mattio Panino I believe) was awesome and coffee was great as well.
If you want delicious choices of breakfast and lunch menus then you must try Tuscan Son Cafe. I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed the consistency of fresh and tasty dishes each time. Make sure to leave room for their amazing freshly made baked goods! Great place to enjoy a great meal.
Food is excellent. The prices are very good for the quality, taste and amount of food. You do not want to miss this amazing restaurant. Everything is fresh. Save room for dessert. The desserts are incredible. Outside dining was lovely.
This place is a local gem and never disappoints. Delicious homemade Italian food. I wish I took a pic sooner but I was too hungry. The bolognese is divine, as is everything I’ve tried on their menu. Definitely worth trying if you’re craving some authentic Italian food. Always a winner!

Adorable little place right across from the LA Temple. The food was fantastic. Felt like we were back in Italy.

This was a chance discovery. We had some work in the adjacent building and it was breakfast time. Ordered their Italian scramble and mac & cheese for our daughter. Both were really good. Everything was made fresh, was hot and tasted delicious. Great find, too bad we don’t live in the area :)
Tuscan Son offers authentic homemade Italian cuisine that transports you straight to Italy. Their tiramisu is decadently delicious, and the steak and arugula salad impresses with bold flavors. Although it’s a small spot primarily designed for office building catering, their bakery and homemade menu are fantastic. The cozy ambiance makes it an ideal place to upgrade your daily lunch meetings.
The service is at the counter and really nice. The restaurant is a simple italian trattoria style, chairs aren't so comfortable but the design is style modern casual. The food is why you go there, they have an interesting menu and their pasta is really good. I got the Rigatoni beef ragu with peas and it was delicious. We got a side order of their Mac and cheese that is delicious and we had their bread pudding that is just perfect. Will definitely come back!

We ordered for dine in but they got my coffee in togo cups. Desert is served before main course. I would say it’s a ok place. Parking is easy, which is good. They did try to rush people out even it’s slow in the shop. Not a good place to sit down and eat and chat with friends.

I see a lot of positive reviews for the Tuscan Son restaurant, so I guess eating in is preferable to ordering togo because I've been disappointed with the quality of food I've received with my togo orders. They also cut their cake portion on the thinnest layer possible, which is not worth $16.48 price, especially if you get the mascarpone cake to go. Not recommended for take out! P.S. Togo orders were placed at the Tuscan Son West Los Angeles location, not through an app.
