Been going to the Firehouse since the 1980s. The food has always been lusty, rich and great. I usually go for either the lamb shank or if on a tighter budget, a gyro or falafel sandwich. The thing I appreciated the most is the portions were big and the food seems always, always hot and fresh. Spanakopita and hummus also extremely satisfying. Bon appetit!
Need to be able to use the points we have built up but not able to
Finally a good descent gyro spot!..friendly staff and pkng also! 🌟 🌟🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Genuinely amazing food, and we watched the waitress handle the most obnoxious lady with so much patience and grace- like seriously I work in customer service and I could NEEEEVER. If I could rate this place a 6/5 I would. Will 10000% be back and bringing others!
Hands down one of my most favorite places to eat in California! The customer service is great! It's cozy, relaxing, the Greek salad with grilled chicken is second to none! Update11/26/2018 Sadly, since I wrote my original review, the quality of the food and service has greatly suffered. The former waitress was amazing, there has been a few different ones since that are missing the customer service connection. The rice is horrible! Get the fries... Please Firehouse, know, I am serious about what I say and I hope you correct the problems, you once had one of the best restaurants in the LA area....not so much anymore. I am leaving my 5* for now in hopes the correction are made. Otherwise, next time I will have to adjust to reflect a low 3* ... This truly saddens me.
It's amazing. Go in to order. You can have it delivered and the ingredients are the same and, again, amazing. They come divided though to not ruin the food on the drive over. Go there and order and they'll put it together. Pork belly Gyro. It's just really great food and let's help keep this place around for a long, long time.
An amazing meal. Simply put if you like Greek food and have not been here. Then you need to go. It's so delicious with generous portions (I had to take some home). Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.
Wow. Simply the best gyro I’ve ever had in the US by far. The Greek salad was absolutely fantastic as well.
Very satisfied with my first visit here. Fast service and the food was delicious. Definitely worth the try. The prices seemed a bit high at first but the plate sizes and flavors definitely compensated for that. The food was great and they successfully created a enjoyable Greek ambiance.
Great food I have to order food multiple times a month from this restaurant so good
Great food, fast service, affordable price, and relaxed environment. Lamb and beef gyros was amazing. Thank you!!! I've had gyros at local restaurants who claim to be authentic, but I have to admit this was the most authentic I've tried in the Valley, Glendale, and even Ventura County. They have a very fast service and the casual and relax environment takes you to Greece.
Great Greek food. It's a bit tight in there so might want to do take out during busy times. A little pricey but food is worth it. Definitely not "fast" food. So much better
My friend from 1st grade till now lived right around the corner from the firehouse. Back in 1986/87 he lived there till 2003 and we frequented this place on a daily basis especially in the summer. The owners the nice Greek family knew us and loved us. Always gave us free items. The burgers were our favorite till I tried the gyros and then both were. It’s been a while since I’ve been here but I loved it. I really need to visit and eat here again
Ever since I visited Europe for the first time I been hooked on gyros (called Kebobs in Europe). I been in love. Ives had my fair share of gyros and I have to say firehouse has among the best I’ve tasted in So Cal. Very highly recommended. If your wondering what to eat, or your girl says she dosent care after you ask her what she wants to eat. Come to firehouse. You won’t be disappointed.
Ordered their lam shank. It tasted so good. It came with Greek salad, rice, and pita bread. Generous portion. I would definitely go back. Parking could be difficult during busy time.
I’ve been coming here for a good while now and I’m never disappointed always great service and food
The gryo salad is bomb on of the best gryo plates in the valley
I love this place so much It never disappoints. The food is amazing👌 Everything is so fresh and I just simply love the big size portions of their meals.
Went here for the first time today. My first impression was that it was a charming place with it's Greek landscapes painted wall to wall. Lots of butts were in the seats which is usually a good sign. I ordered to go but still experienced great, friendly, and helpful service. Did I pay a bit more than I expected for a gyro run? A little, yeah. But that food is worth every penny. Huge portion. Best I've had in my area. My new go to. Well done firehouse!
The BEST Mediterranean/Greek Food in all of LA!!! In 20 years of going there, I have never been disappointed, from the food to service. I have to travel 20+ miles to get my fix...
We have been dropping in off and on for several years. We love it here!!
Love this place!!!! The food is always so delicious. They have the best pasticho and souvlaki. Don’t forget to try the Greek Salad and the baklava!!! Everything is always so fresh. Joel is the best!!! Great service as well This is always my go to Greek food restaurant.
Great lamb. Large portions, great service.
I came across this place completely by accident - it just had the look of a restaurant with some character from the outside. Then you walk in, and that amazing smell hits you. You can taste the gyro on the air. The food here is so impeccable, I cannot overstate it. Amazing gyro meat perfectly cooked. I get the gyro sandwich, and I think the composition of ingredients is perfect and really lets the gyro meat and AMAZING sauce shine. And their bread - soft, fluffy, warm, amazing. Even the fries are something special. And none of this is to mention the RIDICULOUS portion size for an incredibly fair price. Top it all off with friendly and speedy service, and you have an absolute valley hidden gem right here. I live in Ventura, and this place is my new favorite reason to take a trip south of the county line. Firehouse, you are legendary.
Our family has been enjoying food from Firehouse Taverna for many years. Their delicious food and friendly attitude keeps us coming back for more!
Delicious food, great service, Kathy is awesome I love that she knows the menu and knows what my wife and I will enjoy eating, she literally gives us the family treatment, the entire kitchen staff are just incredible, great cooks, great severs amazing food, portions and taste wise. Definitely recommend. We've regular dinners, and have recommend multiple friends and family members. Never disappoints.
As a fellow Greek finding authentic food is a little difficult, but not at Firehouse! If you want a taste of YiaYia’s home cooking please stop by. We had them cater a party for us and it was amazing. We had a verity of the menu and while everything was just as good as home cooking the Pasticho, mousaka and dolmathes were just like home! Do yourself a favor and stop in or use them for your next even you will not be disappointed!
The chicken souvlaki combo is amazing! One of my favorites from here. The fries are crispy and hot and the rice is so good! Good for picky eaters or for a simple yet delicious dish.
Great Greek food prepared fresh while you wait. Beef Lula was tasty. Spanikopita was good but needs more filling. Dolmades were tasty but too soggy!! Leave the Greek yogurt sauce off the food. It's better to give the diner a choice. On the side is better! Greek salad was great and fresh. Prompt , efficient and courteous staff. Pretty expensive too, but worth it!
Really good food at an underrated spot. Swung by for a new experience while my friend was visiting the Valley and realized that this place has been here for years. Would happily pay half the price for half the portion, there's plenty of food left for me to eat over the course of the next decade in the fridge. No regrets. Time to hibernate.
Me and my gf are regulars at Firehouse! Highly recommend the Chicken Souvlaki sandwich / plate. We go with rice over fries normally, but everything at Firehouse is solid! I could eat here 7 days out of the week and have tried the majority of their food. Can’t go wrong with anything here… Staff is always super friendly , easy 10/10 every time! Check them out
The food was great very good i ordered the musaka very good the rice and pita bread in the side was amazing just like the main dish. The atmosphere is great with the music. The service was great when i got there the waiters asking me for here or to go they are always ready to do thier job. overall very good place would definitely recommend. 👌
My daughter and I came in to have lunch. The cashier and waitress was great. Super informative and very sweet. Brought everything to the table. This chef was also there. Very informative, super sweet and nice people. Humble love it. I came to eat with my daughter and the minute she tried their salad before having the entree. She said 10 out of 10. Mind you she's five and this is not a Happy meal which most kids her age like she loved it. We will be coming back here. Prices are great. The music is very calming. Not loud at all. Parking in the back greatest space food amazing flavor. Is there texture? It's literally so soft and not chewy at all and the pita bread they make fresh. Everything came out than less than 10 minutes. Nice and hot service was great. Food is amazing. Loved it. Had a great experience I loved that i order my food to stay and it came with a complimentary plate of salad filled with lettuce and cucumbers. Red onions, olives, feta cheese, a perfect amount and the sauce you can just tell it's homemade
Very VERY good food. Quite reasonably priced. Best Greek food in the valley by far. I like getting the Meze Platter. Comes with a little bit of everything. The salad is incredibly large and fresh, meat is plentiful and flavorful, and the rice as a side dish is excellent. The baklava is good as well. A little too much ginger for my taste. But still very good. I have attached 3 photos of the current menu (Feb 2017) as they don't seem to have a complete menu posted anywhere.
I loved it, I haven't had a GOOD Gyro in a minute. I'm from new york and it's been tough to find a greek place here, but, I think I finally found it.
Firehouse Taverna was excellent! Such delicious food. It was my first placing an online order with them, and we had a lot of items. Firehouse Taverna were very professional and all our orders were prepared just as requested. I cant’t wait to order from them again!
My family enjoyed our dinner here last Thursday. Everything was palatable and the service was splendid!
Ordered the Combination plate for two which includes 5 items: Moussaka (eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, grd beef with bechamel sauce & grated cheese), spanakopita (puff pastry spinach & feta), tyropita (puff pastry feta & herbs), dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) & gyro. I loved it, especially the moussaka, it tastes sort of like shepherds pie. Layer of mushy veggies, with potatoes and meat. I know the way I'm describing it doesn't sound too appetizing but just imagine shepherds pie except greek-style. The pastry was warm, flaky and buttery. Best part was the gyro, its not the best I've had but with a meal I always need some type of meat. Service was pretty quick and price was fair for the portion size. Its a comfort food and will definitely go again.
For the amount of food you get the price is well worth it. My falafel meal came with a Greek salad that was huge in itself. The fries were unsalted and very crispy. The falafel were very big and were covered in parsley and tzatziki sauce. There were also tomatoes and red onions that I ate along with the accompanying pita. All in all I left satisfied and it didn't break my pocket book.
A true Greek restaurant with everything you crave at a Greek place. Falafel was delicious, the gyro meat was devine, the sampler plate had tatzhiki (sp) hummus, babaganoush, and the salmon caviar yogurt who's name I can't remember. The pita was the good quality fluffy pita. All the while Greek music was playing which added to the ambience. This place is DELICIOUS!
Always a great experience. Food is delicious and service is admirable
Delicious food fast service amazing staff very attentive highly recommend
Good food, fast service! I wish they had more vegetarian options but their veggie sandwich is delicious.
This is one of the best, if not the best, Greek food restaurants. The Giro plate is huge and its flavor is excellent. There's also a wide variety of dishes at reasonable prices. 100% recommended.
I always get the Mediterranean plate from here with beef and lamb or chicken. The entire meal is delicious, salad, rice, and meat. I'm not a fan of the hummus but this is just a personal preference, it isn't to say it isn't good. If you're in the Tarzana and Reseda area please try this place. You will not be disappointed.
Beef and lamb giro was delicious, grilled chunks of chicken were juicy, hummus seemed home made and really good. Classic cheese burger is a winner.
Affordable price, clean place, friendly staff, delicious food. Good for dine in and out,
Firehouse Greek is hands down some of the best Greek food around. We’ve dined in several times and also order from them regularly on delivery apps, and the quality is always consistent. I usually get the chicken gyro wrap—it’s big, loaded, and super filling. The fries are always crispy and delicious, and their tzatziki is so fresh and flavorful. Today my husband tried the beef lulu sandwich for the first time, and he said it was really good. The portions are generous, the food is well-seasoned, and everything tastes authentic. The service is great too—friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Plus, there’s free parking in the back, which is always a bonus. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Valley. We’ll keep coming back.
A friend recommended this place when I was visiting. It is a Greek restaurant. I've been to many but I must say thay Firehouse Taverna is THE BEST that I have been to in a long time! The pita bread is fresh and delicious! Their Vegetarian Feast is great: falafel, rice, spanikopita, babaganoush (eggplant).... I also had their Fish Pita which is Alaskan Cod with an incredibly tasty tartar sauce. The service was speedy. I did not have to wait a long time. Food came out quick. The portions are generous and the prices are perfect for a budgeting pocket. The server was always attentive and ready to refill our drinks.
These are the best gyros I had so far in San Fernando Valley. They were full of flavor with plenty of meat. The fries were perfectly seasoned and very crispy. Trust me, I am from Chicago and tasted many gyros in my life time. Staff were very friendly. I totally recommend this place. I will definitely come back.
Firehouse Taverna offers delicious, authentic Greek dishes in a warm, inviting setting. The flavors are fresh and vibrant, with standout items like souvlaki, gyros, and hearty dips. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a relaxed, satisfying meal.
The food is excellent, I ordered a gyro plate with salad and rice, large portions, thank you. I love it. “Firehouse Taverna has the best gyro in the entire Valley! The meat is perfectly seasoned, the pita is warm and fresh, and every bite is packed with incredible flavor. Definitely a must-try spot!”
The food at Firehouse was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, from the juicy chicken skewers to the tender gyro meat. The rice was perfectly seasoned and fluffy, pairing so well with the creamy hummus and warm pita bread. Every bite had that perfect balance of freshness and richness, especially with the drizzle of sauce on top. The portions were generous, and the presentation made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, the experience at Firehouse was fantastic, with great food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back again.
Firehouse Taverna is a wonderful place to enjoy delicious Greek food in a cozy and welcoming setting. The food is fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. From the appetizers to the main dishes, everything tastes authentic and satisfying, especially the grilled meats and traditional specialties. The service is excellent — staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel right at home. They are always ready to recommend dishes and ensure you have everything you need. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a friendly vibe that makes it perfect for family dinners, gatherings with friends, or even a casual date night. Prices are reasonable for the quality and generous portions provided.
I’ve lived in the San Fernando Valley for 23 years and I’ve never been to this place. Way before the McDonalds and Starbucks were built at this intersection, I was always curious about this location. I finally had the opportunity to pass by, and let’s just say I’ll be a repeat customer. Excellent food and customer service. The next time I pass by, I will try one of the plates. If the owners are reading this, I hope that one day you’ll sell Brody merch.
Someone told me this was the best Greek food in the area, and I completely agree. Everything you get is going to be so delicious and fresh. Our absolute favorite thing on the menu is the House Specialty Lamb Kleftiko, wow!! It is so very tender and tasty, the sauce it's in is amazing. My mom doesn't really like lamb and she LOVES the Lamb Kleftiko, and the rice it comes with is so fluffy and flavorful. We had the Chicken and Gryo plate, with hummus and rice, their hummus is so good almost light in a way, the chicken kabob is juicy, and the gyro is some of the best I've had. Their pita bread is so soft and fresh, but crispy on the outside--it tastes like they make it fresh in-house and it comes out hot! The Falafel is pretty huge and so good, and so is the Dolmadakia (stuffed grape leaf) and it's giant!! So one is definitely enough, and it's really good. We also had the Greek Fries, and if you put some Greek Dressing on them, it's going to blow your mind. It's definitely worth getting, especially if you've never had Greek Fries before. Their Greek salads are also very good and fresh, and they come with like every meal. Definitely get an order of the Tzatziki Dip, and it also comes with Pita, and the Tzatziki is so thick and creamy, very very delicious, do not skip this one. My sister has also ordered the chicken pita sandwhich and it was so good. Everything here is wonderful, but make sure you try the Lamb Kleftiko and Tzatziki!! We love coming here :)
After years and years driven by this place, I decided to give it a try! Googled it, and I was happy they have lamb gyros!! My favorite kind! It has a small parking area behind the place through the alley. About 6 to 7 cars could park there. On busy hours, I think it would be hard to find a parking spot. It was Friday around 2:30 p.m. there were 3 tables of diners when I got there. So, it's a good sign! Decided to order a take out order of the Gyro plate $22 and change. It came with rice pilaf & pita bread and Greek salad on the side. The plate was in a large portion with a generous amount of gyro meat!! Ordered a spanakopita $5.00. They gave me olive oil & herbs, hummus, and tatziki sauce as well. Once I got in my car, I couldn't resist eating the spanakopita right away 🤣 although the crust was not as puffed up as I expected it to be, the filling tasted amazing!! The spinach was seasoned perfectly! Got home and tried some of the rice, pita bread, and the gyro meat. I'm impressed with everything! The pita bread was warm and soft, rice was cooked to perfection and had nice fragrant aroma.. then the meat was seasoned very well! Not too dry and sliced thinly just the way I love it! Besides the salad.. I'm not really a salad person. But they made and packed it well with a generous amount of feta cheese on it. I gave the staff Graciella & the chef; Joel thumbs up 👍!! Good job!! Recommended to gyro fans or Mediterranean cuisine lovers!
Mouthwatering. You get a good idea of how delicious the food is about to be once the aroma from the kitchen hits you. The staff was very polite and our food was prepared fairly quickly. The salads are amazing and the chicken gyro plate stole my heart. The portion sizes are perfect to share or take some home to enjoy later. It's a thumbs up from me !
Very underrated restaurant in my opinion. If you crave Greek food, this is the place to go! We’ve ordered Beef an Lamb Gyro Plate, Chicken Souvlaki and Falafel as an appetizer. All the meats were very juicy and tasty, fries were perfectly cooked, and the salads were super fresh and enormous. Very delicious, excellent and HUGE meals. I’m definitely coming back for more when I’m in the area!
Got the Mixed Souvlaki Plate (Beef, chicken & lamb) which comes with fries & greek salad, also got the and Babaganoush & a yogurt drink. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. I can eat a lot and I wasn't able to finish it. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and cooked. The meats were yummy and the salad was great, nice and tangy. Babaganoush was yummy and I love to wash it all down with a yogurt drink. It's such a cute place, nice little flowers outside along the windows. Waitress was nice. A bunch of tables inside and some outside. You can park on the street or a few spots in the back.
Update 10/30/21: Still hits. Incredible gyro. O.M.G. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 The gyro alone is enough for for 2 people. The sandwich is huge!! Ordered it with a side of fries. Its a lot of food. Couldn't eat any of the fries. The meat was sliced to order, tomatoes sliced to order. High quality ingredients make it worth any drive. Also ordered a gyro plate for my 2 kids. There's no way they'll finish it. The portions are very generous. Eat here! Get the gyro. You'll be glad you did. 😋😜✨😌🤪
The food was delicious. We received our orders in a good time didn't take long about 10 minutes after we ordered. Place was clean they have outdoor seating. Not much for parking. Have to drive down an alley but not far. I will be coming back next time I'm in the area.
Yummy Greek food in a low-key setting. Definitely has a family-owned, family-run, and family-loved vibe. Generous portions at good prices. My only issue was with the spanakopita - it was very chewy and dry as if it had been reheated too many times or was a few days old. Otherwise, all the other dishes I've tried were very tasty.
I never assume Greek food will cost less than 10 bucks, but at least you get rice or fries and a drink in the combo. The portions are pretty reasonable and probably more than enough for the average person. The gyro was pretty tasty and the actual restaurant has a nice cozy feel to it. I'd definitely come back. For you aquarium lovers, the tank in this place is pretty nice and well maintained.
Food is good, hot inside, employees are nice. But prices are high. 21 for a gyro and fries is high.
Firehouse Taverna is a fantastic place for Greek food. The Tony's Fries and Chicken Souvlaki were delicious! I want to come back and try more of the menu.
I ordered from here again, and the chicken Gyro was juicy and outstanding, along with the fries were crispy and my extra pita bread was nice and warm. I don’t know why people complain about the quality of the food. I’ve been eating from here since I was a kid going to Reseda high school it’s always good. The gyro sandwich was excellent! The fries and salad were delicious. They even gave us free dessert. Just watched her check because she accidentally charged me an extra seven dollars and had to redo the total. But overall I have been eating here since I was a kid in school close by 45 years and the place is still going strong
We basically live down the street from the place but for some reason were never able to make it there. And finally the day came and we decided to go for lunch on Saturday afternoon. You have to go park behind the restaurant as it is located on a busy street. There are approximately 5-7 parking spots and that’s it. As you walk in, we notice very vintage like decor with few tables on the first floor looking out on Victory Blvd. We ended up ordering few appetizers, some pita bread and drinks. Our son loved veggies and meat wrapped in grape leaves I believe. However, all the food seemed very greasy and just lacked of taste. It was not something that we would plan to go back to. Seemed pretty authentic but definitely not amazing. There was one table next to us and empty otherwise. We tasted our food, while the waitress chatted with the cook and left promptly. It’s just ok, nothing special but I definitely would not come back.
Great service! Good good! Great prices! The food is pretty good. I had the Meze platter which had Pita, rice, hummus, gyro meat and chicken. The food was pretty good. A little bland, but the chicken was moist and tender. The place is a good restaurant with friendly comfy atmosphere. The service is really great and friendly. The prices are good and not really expensive
I’m updating since it’s been a few years since I first left my wonderful rating. Simply put they have the best gyros that you will ever have in your whole life. (Except now they have 1/2 the meat in them. & they often forget to put the Taziki sauce in your to go order). I’ve been going there for 30 years and in the meantime I’ve had other persons gyros again they hold no candle to firehouse! So like most everything else smaller portions same price. Seriously going down hill…I used to tell everyone I know to go here….. I’m going to stop saying that.
My relative went into order our food. Apparently when they pulled out a debit card the manager asked if they had cash instead because the bank charges 15%. So he paid with a $20.00 bill and credit card. And I got shorted a beverage that came with a combo I ordered. I called and spoke with a female who said that they do take credit cards and debit cards and there is no fee. She nicely asked if I wanted to speak with the manager. I declined. However then I called back and spoke with him. He said that the bank does charge 15% on cards. It must be them they charged and I told him the situation and he did apologize. I used to know the owner a very nice man and their food is great. I know there was a pandemic and they have to compete with McDonald's. I just don't understand this. My relative was going to order deserts too but didn't want to add that in light of the conversation. I don't understand their policies. They always had great food even better now really. I hope they work out whatever issues they have and stay in business.
Food is always good but this is the second time I’ve ordered pick up and food was not even started by the schedule pick up time. Last night my order said it was ready for pick up at 9:23 I arrived at 9:40 and was told it wasn’t ready and watched them print out my ticket and was told it would be another 15 minutes till my food was ready.
Hadn't been to the old Firehouse in many years, and it proved to be the perfect antidote to the numerous horrible "Middle Eastern" restaurants in the area. Everything was tasty, and the order was carefully packed up for us to pick up on a rainy Monday night. We will be returning!
Disappointing. This is the third and last time I buy food in this place. This used to be a decent place with good food for a long time. A few years ago it seemed to me the ownership might have changed and it hasn't been the same anymore. This last time I ordered food and picked it up, decided to look at it before leaving and discovered that all I mean every single piece of meat was burnt. Like black. I turned it around, and the same on the other side!!! Unbelievable. There is no supervision or quality control in this restaurant. Not to mention, no hello, no welcome, no what can I get you, no thanks for coming, nothing If you still want to eat here, go ahead. I know I'm done trying.
We ordered 2 mixed gyro combos and a greek salad.. Everything was incredible! The best gyros and fries I've ever had! The guys making the food in the kitchen were working very hard and it showed by the excellent quality of food. The waitress/hostess could use a little personality though. Fortunately, the energetic guy in the kitchen took my order and payment, all while being courteous to us and still managing to hold it down in the kitchen. Give that guy a raise please because he is the reason I'm coming back! **UPDATE** 7/31/22 This place has definitely changed. Their gyro sandwiches had really hard and dry meat. It looked like pieces of wood. They dont seem to prepare their meat the same as before. It seemed like the they reheated someone's leftovers and served that to us. In the past, when there's a male in the kitchen, the food was great. The women in the kitchen don't seem to care. If i ever decide to go here again, if there's a female in the kitchen, i will just walk out. It's been 2 days since i ate there and i feel like my stomach is still trying to digest the dry wood-like meat. I'll probably never go there again...
Stopped by for lunch with a friend at 11:30am and we ended up being the only ones there. I ordered the lamb kabob plate with fries and my friend ordered the beef kabob plate and asked for a larger salad instead of the fries or rice option. I also ordered a chicken kabob plate with rice for my wife to-go. We received our salads first followed by our kabob plates. The lamb plate had three little wooden skewers with a few small pieces of lamb on each skewer. My friends beef plate had the same three small wooden skewers. We had two ice teas with our meal. When the bill arrived, it was 85 dollars. For 23 or 24 dollars a plate, I expected at the very least, double the protein. We were both disappointed and my friend whom had been here numerous times in the past said that their portions shrunk and their prices went up. When I got home, I found out that they messed up my wife's order and gave her fries instead of the rice that I asked for and we were the only ones there. How do you screw up an order when your not even busy??? Neither one of us will be going back. If your going to charge 23 bucks a plate, give the customer some meat for God's sake.
This place used to be amazing till they decided to remove their tables outside. I don’t enjoy eating inside that’s why I would eat outside in their tables. Now the tables are gone and so are all the people I would bring here. Till they bring back the tables outside I’ll bring back my people. But overall it’s a good place to eat.
This place used to be our favorite Giros place. Today we had a horrible experience. The Giros meat was dried like a chips its flat bread had a bad old oily smell and finally the calamari smelled awful . You can smell the old fried oil from it, after tasting it went straight into the trash bin. I don’t know what is changed in the management, but we are not going back there again. I wish Toni the owner can comeback and fix this.
I wish i would have looked at the reviews before I came here!! Spent almost $100 and the food was not good!!! Not authentic Greek food I had the Moussaka and omg it was old not fresh probably from the day before and cold!!! The top was drenched with Parmesan cheese. I thought I was in a greek restaurant not in an italian restaurant!!! Very disappointing I'm from Chicago and Mediterranean as well and I know my Greek food. This was not greek food at all!!!! Also had their spanakopita omg smh spinach with feta cheese backed in bread smh spanakopita is made filo dough smh should be nice and crispy not soggy, that just came out of the microwave...
This place needs some serious updating. They have the smallest parking lot. I came here with my in laws in 2 cars. We couldn't find any parking. There parking lot only has room for 5 maybe 7 cars.. 1 handicap spot. We had to park a block away smh. Then there heater is broken so it was cold 🥶 inside there. There food was not cooked well the lamb was very dry. The humus was frozen!! You cojld feel the ice like it was pulled out of the freezer to unthaw. The Zuziki was was had no flavor very water. They had no warm or hot beverages!! When we asked for a tea or something warm the response we got bk was there is a Starbucks next door. Add to insult for 2 meals we paid for & 2 drinks nasty humus & zuziki was a lil over $80 dollars smh not even worth it!! Plus the shock of receiving such a high bill is crazy!! I mean its reseda blv next to the park basically the hood. I should of gone to Beverly hills for those prices
It's one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The food is old and has been probably standing for a long time. The service was ok And they changed a fee on your credit without telling you!!! they just add it to your Charge after giving you the check. Even the dessert was not tasty enough to be called a dessert
Got beef souvlaki plate, got a chewy lamb that we were unable to eat, asked for rice but got fries instead. I even called them but they were unable to comprehend ENGLISH. Dear owner customers who pay would like to get the right food that's quality.
This place is located in Reseda, California, on the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Victory Boulevard, right next to Starbucks. I’ve been coming here for many years since it’s down the street from where I work, and I’ve always really enjoyed the food except that it tends to give me a bit of heartburn. They’ve always been known for offering good value, quality, and quantity for as long as I can remember. I used to come here and get the chicken gyro sandwich, and it was always packed with so much meat that it would fall out as you were eating it. Yesterday, my wife and I decided to order chicken gyro sandwiches one for each of us and let me tell you, it was nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were pretty empty, with way more onions than chicken. I could literally taste the onions more than the chicken gyro. The chicken wasn’t seasoned properly, and it felt like whoever prepared the sandwiches had been told to cut back on the meat. Meanwhile, the price has gone up over the years. I remember when it was around nine dollars, and they’d really load up the sandwich with chicken. That’s definitely not the case anymore. I don’t know if this issue is just with the chicken gyro or if it applies to their other menu items too. I also don’t ever recall seeing this place busy every time I stop by, there’s rarely more than one person eating inside. I guess most people just order takeout. The ambience is what you’d expect from a Mediterranean restaurant that serves Middle Eastern food. Either way, I’m not really impressed with this place anymore and probably won’t be coming back. The economy is clearly taking a toll on portion sizes at most restaurants you can see it everywhere they charge more and give you less. This place is a perfect example of that. Don’t you think if they charge you more, you should get more? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Ordered the gyro and I have literally been sick all night and all morning! I use to love this place, but obviously they're serving old and bad food!! This was very disappointing! My wife said she got sick a while back, but I still gave them a chance. Probably won't be going back
