Very Nice place to go celebrate an occasion. Food was delicious, staff was fantastic & the views were lovely. We ordered a bit of everything on the menu and none of it disappointed. Had a couple drinks from the menu & off the menu, bartender seemed to have good taste. Definitely will be coming back soon with more family and friends. Also had live music when we were there. Some might enjoy that others might not.
We made reservation right before we arrived this place. Vibe was really good. Live music was really nice but pretty loud in between talking. Wonderful rooftop downtown view seating. Also, Ceasars salad and ahi tuna were my favorite dishes! Perfect place to date and see your favorite friends! 💝💝
From the moment I arrived, everything felt thoughtfully managed. The layout made it easy to get comfortable, and the overall vibe felt welcoming without trying too hard. It was clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the space. The staff was attentive and kind, checking in at the right moments while still giving plenty of space. That balance makes a huge difference when you’re trying to enjoy your time. Spending so much time traveling and streaming has made me notice places like this more. It’s refreshing to find a restaurant that clearly values the full guest experience. Follow me on Instagram @AutumnTheNomad
We made it a little easier for our staff by ordering everything to share (1 of each for entree and appetizers) so he didn’t need to remember who ordered what. As for desserts, we had 2 of the bread pudding. We felt that it was great value as the food like the beef, chicken and seabass were excellent. Even the puree, polenta and risotto that came on the side, were delicious as well. Cocktails were quite expensive by Singapore standards at $18++ each but with the cool 18 degrees outdoor temperatures, skyline views and live music, it was quite an experience... Everything about this place impressed me—from the incredible food to the stunning views. I stopped by during happy hour and was blown away by how flavorful and well-prepared every dish was. It’s the kind of menu where you can’t go wrong with any choice. The rooftop lounge is a big highlight, offering the perfect setting to relax with a drink and enjoy great conversation. Whether you’re there for the scenery, the food, or the atmosphere, this spot is absolutely worth a visit and easy to recommend.
This was my first time here and my friends second time. I would come back for the atmosphere and the view. However, the service at the bar was impersonal and quite slow. The food was OK. I enjoyed the rabbit meat ravioli but the sauce could have had more flavor. I also had a mocktail. It was called lovely green. It looked healthy , but it was loaded with a lot of sugar. The total came to $108 for two people. Note of caution: there is a strange atmosphere on the streets around the building and Pershing Square. I would not recommend walking at night necessarily.
My home right next to Perch restaurant I can see from balcony everyday. Even though I have been in Perch only once. I have been living in my home over a five years now. I have had a date in there. I drink some drinks I didnt like i had to wait to get drink from the bar however ambiance is good and very modern people nothing and nobody ever bothered. Each floor felt different and amazing. Historical building and amazing times !!!!
A dear friend is visiting from the East Coast this weekend and as we were trying to decide where to "meet in the middle" between Pasadena and Fullerton, I mentioned that I had been craving short ribs. My friend nearly exploded with excitement as she said, "We have to go to Perch!!" She went on to tell me how much she'd enjoyed her previous dining experiences there. She said, "You're going to love it! They have the BEST short ribs." And she was right! The braised short ribs were tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The ribs were plated with potato puree, beets and pearl onions. I contemplated saving some for another meal, but I was enjoying them so much, nothing was left to take home. 🤷🏽♀️ For appetizers, we shared the baked brie and the Cesar Salad, both were delicious. The salad dressing had a delicious citrus undertone that subtly elevated the flavor. The brie was wrapped in a cute puff pastry and served with a tangy vegetable slaw. They paired so deliciously. I also ordered the brussel sprouts, since it's one of my favorite veggies when roasted. They were well seasoned and tasted good, but they were a little undercooked for my preference. For dessert, we both had decaf affogatos. It's a delicious way to top off the meal! The view of Downtown LA at night was beautiful. The vibe was amazing. We were seated outside on the patio near the band (by request). Ms. Sydney Ranee and her group delivered chill, soulful sounds of familiar tunes so creativity arranged. We stayed until the end of their last set and had to stop to laud and thank them for the beautiful sounds. The current, warmer October weather made the evening enjoyable as well. I brought a jacket just in case, but didn't need it. There were patio heaters nearby, but we didn't need them. One thing I noticed and appreciated about the patio dining is that even though it's up high, there was a visual break of plants around the patio between the safety glass and the edge of the building. It helped minimize the butterflies I often feel when looking out from a tall building. The wait staff was very efficient and attentive. One person, Brett, stood out though. We chatted with him for quite a while as we were about to begin our appetizers. He was very friendly and attentive. He even accompanied us to the rooftop bar where we had the chance to talk some more. He definitely added to an already memorable and enjoyable evening.
perch is one of those spots that just gets it. the rooftop view of downtown la is insane, especially around sunset, straight-up cinematic vibes. the ambiance feels classy but not stiff, like you can dress up and still feel relaxed. the food is solid and well-presented. i tried a couple of dishes and everything tasted fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully made. drinks were on point too, not watered down nonsense, actually crafted cocktails. service deserves a shoutout. attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. they make you feel welcome instead of rushed, which is rare in busy rooftop spots. overall, perch nails the experience: views, food, drinks, and atmosphere all working together. yeah it’s a bit on the pricier side, but honestly? worth it for a special night or when you wanna feel a little main-character energy in la. would definitely go back
Small Rooftop bar with super friendly staff. Attended a work party on the roof with tray served bites and sliders. Top notch drinks served with a smile by experienced bartenders. Plenty of heaters up ther for these cold nights. Fun views of the Pershing Square ice skaters and mist of downtown. Right accross from a Metro stop also.
Wwle visited Perch for a date night, and it was such a great experience. The rooftop is great and special. The staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived, which added to the whole vibe. We ordered the salmon and the steak, and both dishes were delicious, flavorful, well-cooked, and honestly even better than we expected because we ordered the baked Brie for the appetizer and it was average. We really enjoyed everything about the night.
Perch offered a lovely experience for our anniversary date, with thoughtful touches that made the evening feel special. The cocktails were a strong start—the Pinacillan was enjoyable with a distinctive ginger note that added a refreshing twist. I also want to acknowledge Chase for ensuring the Old Fashioned was remade perfectly; the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. In addition to his phenomenal service. For dinner, the Shrimp Gnocchi was incredibly satisfying—rich, filling, and beautifully complemented by the flavor the shrimp added to the dish. The Steak and Frites were another standout. The sauce was exceptional, and while the steak could have used a touch more salt, the overall dish was well executed and enjoyable. We ended the night with their anniversary dessert, a thoughtful gesture that added a memorable finish to our evening. Perch delivered a warm and elevated dining experience, perfect for celebrating a special occasion.
Perch is a great French restaurant, perched atop an aesthetic rooftop. My steak was cooked perfectly, and I thought the mashed potatoes were brilliantly seasoned. The bouillabaisse (which I tried) was also very nice. The server ensured my meal was safe, and even verified with me when it came out so I would feel at ease. The live music was a wonderful touch, and made for a very inviting atmosphere. In short, I would be happy to perch myself at Perch once again for a meal!
Very nice restaurant. I went here for my birthday w/two sisters. I got the steak frites. Absolutely delicious. Those fries that come with the steak are awesome. The drinks were absolutely amazing. I loved how they give refills for non alcohol drinks (fancy non alcohol drinks). It was a wonderful experience. I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation.
Cute for brunch, came here for bday brunch with a friend. Our female waitress was super attentive and she went above and beyond to make up for an order mixup, unfortunately I do not remember her name. They have a bar upstairs that’s nice for drinks and a chat just make sure you go when it’s not too hot out.
We valet parked right in front and it cost $15. We went up two different elevators and came out into an old antique room..the decor was from the early 1900s and wonderful. Paintings of naked ladies over the bar..cool chandeliers and lights and event he floor was really old patterns and the dining area had super old tiles on the floor. Many were cracked but it added to the atmosphere of the old building which is over 100 years old. We got seated outside on the roof although there was even a higher roof top floor we could see adjacent to us. We immediately were approached by our waiter who got our drink orders and returned quickly with them. They had a lot of choices and we had coffee and lattes and water and tea and everyone said they were delicious. We ordered from the breakfast menu and first got appetizers.. Brie Cheese wrapped in a pastry with a little fruit ans it was delicious. Wished it was a larger amount! Also got a fruit plate and enjoyed the fresh cut fruits. We had others too but forgot to get my camera out. For breakfast we got several items..Eggs Benedict, French Toast with fruit and maple syrup, a fancy salad of some sort and you can see the pictures of the rest. I was a bit overwhelmed so didnt think about the names of what each of ua got. They had champagne and a full large bar. Nice staff and courteous. Overall it was a lovely meal and only wish the surrounding area weren't filled with homeless and druggies. Made me sad and a bit scared once we got outside. We were so happy the valet was close.
Perch in Downtown Los Angeles is one of those rare places that makes the city itself feel cinematic. Perched high above Pershing Square, it offers a panoramic view that stretches from the shimmering skyline to the Hollywood Hills. It’s no wonder that this French-inspired rooftop restaurant draws both locals and travelers looking for that quintessential LA evening. Yes, it can get crowded, especially on weekends, but it’s part of the energy and allure. The key is to lean into it, find your rhythm, and let the ambiance carry the night. The food here is consistently excellent. The French onion soup is one of the best in the city, rich and deeply caramelized with a perfect layer of melted Gruyère. The steak frites are a signature dish for good reason: perfectly cooked, served with crisp, salty fries and a velvety peppercorn sauce that feels indulgent but balanced. The moules frites are another standout, swimming in a white wine broth fragrant with garlic and herbs. For something lighter, the roasted beet salad and the seared scallops both show real finesse. The cocktail list is thoughtful, with house specialties like the Hemingway daiquiri and a lavender martini that pairs beautifully with the sunset. Romantic, delicious, and unforgettable, Perch is one of LA’s rare spots that truly earns its reputation.
Perch LA is one of the best rooftop dining experiences in Downtown LA. The views are stunning, you get the perfect mix of skyline, sunshine, and that classic LA rooftop vibe. We stopped by for Friday lunch and had: Drinks: the Berry LA (my go-to every time, so pretty and refreshing), the Chateau Melon mocktail, and a Espresso Martini. Mains & apps: the Truffle Bucatini (a must for truffle lovers, rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious), Shrimp Cocktail, Ahi Tuna with avocado and ponzu, Yellowtail Carpaccio, Steak Frites with truffle fries, and Scottish Salmon with roasted carrots and spinach. Service was great, food came out promptly, and the staff made us feel taken care of.
Celebrated our summer Bible school teachers’ hard work at Perch LA with the Dine LA chef’s 4-course prix fixe, and the rooftop views of DTLA’s skyline were absolutely stunning—perfect for a special thank-you night! The French bistro vibe, complete with fire pits and live jazz, created a warm, upscale atmosphere for our group. The 4-course menu was a hit: the charcuterie and truffle fries got raves, and the white chocolate bread pudding was a divine way to end the meal. Overall, the breathtaking views and vibe made it a memorable evening to honor our teachers, though the food and service could be sharper. Pro tip: snag an outdoor table for the full experience!
Perch is, as always, beautiful, stylish, and atmospheric. The view, interior, and overall ambiance are superb; it's a pleasure to simply sit and enjoy the atmosphere. However, we were in for a small surprise: we arrived for lunch at 3:30 PM, but it turned out they were still serving breakfast at that hour. So, our "lunch" consisted of egg dishes and omelets, enthusiastically drinks with alcoholic cocktails. Not the most typical scenario, but perhaps this is the perfect balance between brunch and early aperitif. "Original" – Perch knows how to surprise...
Overall a good restaurant with a nice patio with great views and great cocktails and wine list. Tried a number of dishes and they were pretty good. The steak was cooked well but wasn’t a fan of the fries that was undercooked and then drenched in cheese sauce. The fish was also cooked well. Also the live music was a nice touch but a little too loud so made it very difficult for us to talk.
Drinks were too sweet but not bad. I forgot their names. We got pizza and as a former pizza chef I gotta be honest, it was pretty mediocre. But the service was fast. We didn’t wait much until we got our food. They had dj music. It was just a bit loud. I think if they try to give a lowkey rooftop feel rather than a club atmosphere, I believe people would enjoy their time better. Overall it was a good experience.
Had a nice experience. It was our first visit and we had plenty of questions but most of the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful! It is limited spacing so it can feel like a tight squeeze for a bigger group 4+. They have heaters and blankets as the evenings/nights get colder. The food was amazing! And the cocktails hit the spot. Great spot for a little celebration
It has a rooftop and a great environment. You need to go to the 13th floor first and then transfer to the 15th floor. It offers dining options and also has an outdoor area. The 16th floor is the rooftop, where the night view is fantastic. The food taste is just so-so, but the environment adds a lot of points. Finally, they also gave us three glasses of champagne, which was really nice.
View, fantastic, service excellent, food mediocre. I was very excited to try the pork belly. Unfortunately, it was drier than an overcooked Thanksgiving turkey. I asked for additional sauce. Which was highly disappointed, tasted of straight brown sugar. It needed a lime, or some other pop of freshness to cut through the absurd sweetness of the glaze. A light mango salsa would pair perfectly.
I usually don't do long reviews, but here we are. This review is also the average of 8 people combined (our table). Overall score total of 2 out of 5. We made a birthday reservation party of 8 for Sunday 10/27 @7:30pm. We arrived around 7:35/40pm as due to La traffic and parking situation, plus elevator wait to go up as it is small. To start off it felt fine and we were ready to have a great experience for a birthday celebration. But as we were seated, it was a long wait for the server to just come and introduce themselves. Then even after they did it took another 20/30 minutes for them to take our orders. Since it was busy and we had a big group, we had to get the pre fix combo meals. The first dishes for our group took another 15/20 minutes and same thing for the course/entree and deserts. The funny part is that the bussers would also keep coming to us and asking if we were done. Even if we were the plates get all taken away but our next dish was another wait. On top of that our server was no where to be found the entire time, which also made no sense when the 20% gratuity was added to our bill by default already. Made it seem like since they know and we know we are getting auto charged for gratuity they can do whatever and they're still getting their tips. Then, when my entree came it was a steak frite, I asked for medium well which I usually get and has never had a problem at other restaurants. But when I got it at the Perch, it was different very rare and I told them nicely and the server took it back gave me a new one, which the steak was honestly not any better and if anything was more rare. I kept wanting to look on the bright side but it was just getting worse. Anyways they gave birthday girl the desert with a candle, but tell me why another table outside in the patio outisde got the whole team (all the servers) to sing for them. When we only got the busser who brought out the desert and sang happy birthday halfway and just left.... I don't know if they normally sing for birthdays but we felt racially discriminated as there were no Asians inside the restaurant at the time as well. Well as it ended I was discussing with our group about the service and food, pretty sure a server heard us talking about REVIEWS and YELP, so then somehow the manager runs over and asks us about our experience. We told him a little about this overall experience and he offered us to go checkout the rooftop and gave us drinks. But he lowkey didn't make it any better because we didn't ask for drinks or talk about our genuine experience to get free drinks and rooftop bar entry. It wasn't our point, but I do think overall the Perch needs better teamwork and everyone on the same page because why did it take forever to get our food and for our server or anyone to come assist us. On top of everything it wasn't busy too. For an upscale restaurant that we are paying each $73 for, I would expect better service and food. Anyways sorry for the long review, but on my behalf and my group we just didn't feel like this was an upscale 5 star restaurant experience.
