10/8/2016 Start your engines!...cuz you'll want to 'drive-thru' this one. This is my San Joaquin Valley bracket for rating (not the greater Pre-US occupation of Mexico region) I heard the hype, saw the building. Today was the day. On my way back from a long 10 days in The City, I stopped by this Mr.Taco (Shack). It was perfect fair weather under the outside-shaded seating. I quickly received my 'REGULAR burrito' with Asada (4.99+tax), Bomb in my mouth . They didn't have whole beans, which is usually one of my deal breakers, but it didn't it bother me, the comfort levels for my taste bud were off the charts. My Coca-Cola had a weird taste, so I won't get that again, BUT for all you crushed-ice addicts, you've just found another supplier. The free salsa was a great pairing, I needed two, and a few squeezes of lemon for my taste. I'd probably eat in my car if it's too hot, or too cold. This is a eat in my car worthy spot, which many eateries do not get the honor.

Two way drive thru. Amazing burritos. Try the California burrito with grilled chicken. Service can be slow at dinner rush. Call ahead to place an order.

It was our first time coming here. The lady that took our order was awesome. She was very nice and professional.Povided great recommendations and answered all our questions about the menu. To top it off our food was as good as the great customers service.

Friendly service ❤ Came when they were really busy and the service was super fast. Ordered 4 tacos (2 lengua, 2 asada) and a large horchata. The total was $11 which I think is fair considering I ordered lengua. Horchata was very delicious and tasted authentic. Will be back next time I drive through Los Banos.

We had a breakfast burrito and it was great. The burrito was big in size and was well proportioned to the size of the tortilla. The employees were very helpful and patient, they answered all of our questions.

This is my go-to place when I don’t feel like cooking. The ingredients/produce is always so fresh. The lettuce is always nice and crunchy, the tomatoes are juicy, onion and lime is fresh as can be. I highly recommend their concha bowl. I usually get it with the grilled chicken or carnitas. The grilled chicken is absolutely mouth watering. The sopes with carne asada are fantastic and you can never go wrong with their tacos or burritos. Also, the cheese fries always hit the spot and a good sized portion for the price. Not to mention the ladies there are always so sweet and friendly and provide very quick service.

Mr. Taco in Los Banos makes the best burritos I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot of burritos. My colleges and I drive through Los Banos when traveling for work and we always stop by for lunch. The Taquitos are perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. They are soft inside and crunchy outside. The burritos are huge! Full of meat and goodness. I can’t wait to go there again!

This is my spot for camarones a la diabla. Weather it’s the plate, or in burrito style. It is spicy, & it has a hint of garlic. No other place(s) I’ve gone to serves the shrimp this spicy. If you’re someone who enjoys spice and enjoys shrimp, it’s the best duo that will live up to its name.

I had a taco Supreme and a Mr. Taco. The Taco Supreme was good, it was pastor. The Chicken Mr.Taco was different, had a different style sauce which was refreshing. Not as good as El Cutija tacos in my opinion, but worth the money.

The California Burrito is on point! I make sure to stop here every time we come thru Los Banos. As my husband says they have a 'proper' sized burritos for a decent price.

Wet burrito was amazing and the rolled tacos are good would have been 5 stars but they forgot one of my plates and then didn't give any salsa had to go back and then wait because the plate wasn't made

This place is still pretty good, but I just find myself becoming more and more disappointed as we eat there on occasion. I'm getting pretty fed up with seeing a listed price and being charged something completely different when I order. California Burrito: 9.99 as listed. 12.99 out the door? With no explanation as to why? I shouldn't have to ask; this overcharge mentality that small businesses keep doing in Los Banos is nerve-racking to say the least. And of course the generic receipts don't explain anything either. Whatever, the food was good even if the price and service was a bit disappointing. The sauce is good, not as great as it was. And the In n Out style flavoring they added to the California Burrito is interesting but not bad. I'd recommend if grabbing the Cali burrito and wanting a more classic taste, sub the burger sauce for their salsa and let the magic happen.

Food great service very poor first time they forgot few items i ordered the second time food was cold fries not cooked at all mushy French fries garlic fries soaked with garlic juice and mushy carnie asada fries where not even cooked at all. Quality has gone down. This used to be my favorite place to grab a burrito. The last few experiences have been awful because they gave me the wrong order and also giving a sloppy burritos that doesn't even hold the food. Let me start off by saying that this is absolutely an honest review... Unlike many of the other reviews that claim Mr. Taco is the best tasting Mexican food this side of the border. Back in the day, before Mr Taco was even a thing, we would have to stand in looooong lines at the Michoacana for HUGE burritos or combo plates filled with insanely seasoned yummy goodness. Seriously, the food would literally give you the meat sweats - that's just how seasoned the food use to be. The burritos were massive, and omg the plates were bountiful and abundant! Unfortunately, as they as they grew in popularity, the portions became smaller and smaller; the tasty mouth watering insanely seasoned meats (that I really do miss) became more and more bland; and the prices went through the roof. Sure, I get it - blame it on inflation. But that's not always the case. Just because they have a sign above their register that reads essentially everything is extra due to supply chain issues doesn't necessarily make it so. Now when Mr Taco first opened up, the food was amazing. And much like the Michoacana, as it gained in popularity, the prices went through the roof, and the portions became smaller and smaller. And don't get me started on the quality. The quality of the food went in the garbage along with their bland asada. They hired less experienced cooks that only knew how to add fillers to every order. Now, the food is simply over priced and under seasoned tv dinner quality fast food. To call it Mexican food would be disrespectful to truly authentic Mexican cuisine. C'mon Mr. Taco... Enough with the flavorless food and get back to serving food the way it use to be. Sure, times have changed - and gosh knows your menu prices reflect that. But at least give us something tasty so that we're not left with regrets at the dinner table.

Used to love this place. Burritos are big but it’s gone way down hill. Last couple times I’ve come they’ve gotten the orders wrong and charged a lot more than listed. Literally ordered a burrito and the window closed and they didn’t ask what meat I wanted and closed the window. we ended up with what they chose haha. Still laughed that off But have come back again and they don’t even wrap the burrito, forget ingredients and don’t even give one salsa with a specialty order or two that should include it at the least.. Not one salsa Without charging and then give only one after paying extra for it. I go to other places for burritos solely cuz the salsa makes it more special and this place doesn’t include even the smallest cup of salsa without charge. Disappointed.

Went for a torta and when I got home the bread was hard the lettuce and tomatoes were soggy so I went back and the girl said that's the way they always serve it so I asked for my money back and the owner told her to tell me no they can only give me credit now why would I want credit for a place that serves hard bread and soggy lettuce this is beyond ridiculous and poor customer service the owner couldn't even come talk to me he had his employee do all his dirty work for him smh money hungry is all he is I WILL NEVER GO BACK OVER THERE I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody

Got a breakfast burrito that was so big I could barely lift it. So I cut it in half and the insides come out. 90% of the burrito was watered down refried beans. No sight of eggs and the bacon was chopped up pieces mixed In a red sauce. It was a soup surrounded by a tortilla. I took one bite and threw it away.

Cashier with heavy makeup took the my order incorrectly. I order a torta ahogada and they gave me a wet burrito. When I ask to please change it, she said that was my torta ahogada without looking at it. I had to open the box to her to see and they make me a new order. Unfortunately they use the same salsa from the wet burrito witch is the same one they use for the chile relleno and enchiladas so basically they just change the tortilla for a bun,it was the same thing . No thank you! Not coming back here again. I rather eat a small plate of REAL authentic Mexican food than this. They clearly have no idea of what a they offer on their menu

Service was very super slow. The cashier girl was very rude especially when she handed me my order, she was fast to hand it over and she said "thank you have a nice day" I said "and our drinks?" Just got a burrito from Mr. Taco and asked for no...Chili sauce, jalapeños ( I'm allergic) and no spices. And they didn't listen, I have stomach issues and can't tolerate it. I'm in a lot of pain. Don't ever order from them...you won't get what you asked for!!!!!!

Shame on you Mr. Taco. I have been a faithful customer from day one when Mr. Taco opened. I've brought family and friends to Mr. Taco. Last weekend I ordered a breakfast burrito (chorizo w/bacon). They forgot to put the bacon in my burrito. This weekend I ordered the same thing, saying that I didn't want to pay for the bacon this time, because it was left out last time. The owner who messed up my order the first time, said no way. WELL YOU LOST ALL FUTURE BUSINESS FROM ME, MY FRIENDS, AND MY FAMILY. This is how you treat FAITHFUL CUSTOMERS. You weren't going to lose anything, it was payed for already. STAY AWAY from this rip off place! you get one star only because zero stars is not a review, or that is what you would get from me, zero stars.

We would have loved to have tried this. The reviews are great and the food looks amazing. However, when we pulled up, the woman who was going to take our order had very dirty gloves on from preparing food for the previous customers. She kept those gloves on while touching everything....opening the window, touching the counter, ringing us up. If she doesn't take dirty gloves off to take an order, is she going to continue to use those gloves to make our food? We decided against eating here. And yes.....I have over 25 years experience in commercial kitchens with 7 of those years as an executive chef. Just because you require your employees to wear gloves doesn't mean anything if they aren't changing them constantly & using proper handwashing protocol. Cross-contamination can get people really ill.

First they give old dried out meat. Thats just to start. The slasa is not even close to ok. Then they charge you for salsa 50 per mini cup which is like two pours. Then they hire these people who dont even want to work there and are rude little femaleees. The owner should fire these kids and get people who have respect for their customers. If you buy an item at least give them one cup of salsa. I do not recommend this place and will negatively market against anyone using this excuse of a restaurant. We need better Mexican food spots in LB. This place gets zero stars because you lost my business and I will tell others to avoid this place.

Went in to get crunchy tacos we had already gone by there 2 other times and have then and were good. This time service was bad and when tacos were opened the box felt ice cold like it had just come out of the freezer. Went and told them the tacos were cold even the meat. Cashier told the cook and cook said well all the stuff on them is cold. Yes but the meat I mean even the crunchy taco part would be at least somewhat hot. It supposedly is fried to get it crunchy. The cashier asked if I wanted new ones I asked for a refund. And had no problem getting it. I did tell her the last time we had them they were very good but this time no cold everything even the meat was cold. I mean People can get sick like thats. Too bad won’t be back again. The chile stuffed cheese pepper ain’t it not good and the pico de gallo wasn’t good had no favor at all the worst food I’ve ever had I just threw the whole thing away because it wasn’t too my standard.

Highpothesis

First they give old dried out meat. Thats just to start. The slasa is not even close to ok. Then they charge you for salsa 50 per mini cup which is like two pours. Then they hire these people who dont even want to work there and are rude little femaleees. The owner should fire these kids and get people who have respect for their customers. If you buy an item at least give them one cup of salsa. I do not recommend this place and will negatively market against anyone using this excuse of a restaurant. We need better Mexican food spots in LB. This place gets zero stars because you lost my business and I will tell others to avoid this place.

Went in to get crunchy tacos we had already gone by there 2 other times and have then and were good. This time service was bad and when tacos were opened the box felt ice cold like it had just come out of the freezer. Went and told them the tacos were cold even the meat. Cashier told the cook and cook said well all the stuff on them is cold. Yes but the meat I mean even the crunchy taco part would be at least somewhat hot. It supposedly is fried to get it crunchy. The cashier asked if I wanted new ones I asked for a refund. And had no problem getting it. I did tell her the last time we had them they were very good but this time no cold everything even the meat was cold. I mean People can get sick like thats. Too bad won’t be back again. We would have loved to have tried this. The reviews are great and the food looks amazing. However, when we pulled up, the woman who was going to take our order had very dirty gloves on from preparing food for the previous customers. She kept those gloves on while touching everything....opening the window, touching the counter, ringing us up. If she doesn't take dirty gloves off to take an order, is she going to continue to use those gloves to make our food? We decided against eating here. And yes.....I have over 25 years experience in commercial kitchens with 7 of those years as an executive chef. Just because you require your employees to wear gloves doesn't mean anything if they aren't changing them constantly & using proper handwashing protocol. Cross-contamination can get people really ill.
