This is one of my favorite Mexican food places in Lubbock. Fantastic food, consistently cheerful staff, and a great bar.

This was our first time here. The food, service, and atmosphere was extraordinary. The fajita enchiladas dish was so delicious that I could have cried 🤤. Everything our party of 8 ordered was top tier.

Don't let a packed parking lot scare you away. We took the last space. We were seated within 10 minutes and had our delicious hot meal within 15 minutes more. They run a flawless, consistent, flavorful restaurant. Whoever is in charge deserves high praise and a raise ❣️ We recommend this restaurant as our number one restaurant in Lubbock.

Ashley is one of the best servers I have ever had. We came on Father’s Day so it was very busy but only waited about 10 minutes for a table, if that. Food was good and very large portions, the manager was walking around talking to guests. Overall very impressed with the service and management here.

We took my mother in law and wife there for mother's Day along with a lot of the family. The service was amazing and the food was great. Huge portions for how much you pay. Especially the kids meals. This was my first time here and I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend if ya look for good Mexican food.

The meal I had was wonderful. I wish you could still get ala carte orders, or Senior meals for those of us who don't have as big an appetite as we once had.

The the food was excellent as usual. Timothy did an excellent job keeping up with our needs and frequently came by our table and had a smile. But please have the waiters write things down. Not totally his fault as the 3 of us all had a special request but overall our order was correct. I ordered no cheese on my plate but they sprinkled cheese on top but I scraped it off, my wife wanted double pappas and got beans and rice, not a deal breaker. But some may not be so understanding. Very good though.

I went here for my birthday dinner. Very good service and good food. We were in a large group, so they put us upstairs in the room that has seating for large groups, and it was a little noisy, but this is to be expected. I got the half order of chicken fajita quesadillas and this was about the right portion to fill me up.

Tiffany was a great waitress! She always made sure we were taken care of.

Friendly staff, quick service, giant drinks. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a TexMex place. Lots of wood, stained glass tile light fixtures, some nice bottles of tequila on their top shelf. Good for large groups.

The place was super busy for a rainy day, yet the service was quick. I was brought the wrong food ( I had ordered quesadillas with beef fajita meat and was brought the beef fajita entrée) however, it was still great, just perhaps a bit more attention to detail. But again, the fast service made up for it. This is a nice two- story establishment and very lively. Definitely recommend.

I LOVE Mexican food and so when I was in Lubbock I decided to try a restaurant I had never tried before. The wait was long but well worth it. Every thing was spot on and tasty even the frozen margaritas. If in Lubbock again I will be back 🤗

We went to Albarran's Mexican Bar & Grill for lunch today, everything was perfect. Our waiter Jojo was very attentive, my sweet tea was perfect, my queso was perfect, not runny or clumpy. We like the habanero salsa but their house salsa was spot on too. I love the Isaiah Plate, it is cut pieces of sirloin sauteed with onion, jalapeno and tomatoes. My charro beans and papas were so very tasty also. I didn't need to add salt or pepper too anything. This is the best meal and service I've had in awhile. I almost forgot...we had Sopapillas too and they were puffy and light, just like they should be. Thank you for my Most Awesome Meal Albarrans!! ✌🏼🤙🏼

We come here often but the service last night was incredible. Katie was our waitress and she was super personable and knowledgeable about the menu! I tried something new by her recommendation and it is definitely going to be something I order in the future. The manager Matt also stopped by, and he was kind and personable. He remembered us as frequent customers and thanked us for choosing them again. My 6 month old loves the atmosphere and everyone who walks by her always makes her smile too! We will continue to come back here and request Katie as our waitress. Best mexican food and service in town! Thank you Albarrans!

The queso, chips, and salsa were absolutely delicious so fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is top notch friendly, attentive, and quick. Plus, there’s such a variety of fantastic Mexican dishes every plate I’ve tried never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Great food, made quickly, great staff and great atmosphere!

My wife and I decided to visit my daughter and her family, so we picked up her son and his family, and we all met at this restaurant. We waited about 7 minutes because we were a table of 9. We were there before my daughter, and our waiter was always there asking or getting us what we needed as we waited for the rest of the family. The bathrooms are kept emaculantly clean as a restaurant bathroom should always be practically spotless. Extra chips... on the spot. After the rest of the family arrived, we all ordered, and everyone's food was great. My carne guisada, above all, was so flavorful and so tender. My wife had the guacamole enchiladas, and she really enjoyed them. My stepson and his family enjoyed the trio fajita plate. In fact, the servings were more than enough. All our meals were delicious, the service, and the atmosphere were very warm welcoming and comfortable. It's just a really nice place for the whole family to gather. Everyone's food was great tasting and plentiful.

We brought our Momma here on her 60th Birthday for dinner & everything was just perfect. We arrived to a full restaurant on a Saturday night when they have live music was really good. The staff was very accommodating as they held an ice creame birthday cake in their refrigerator until it was time for us 2 sing her Happy Birthday. Also, sensing they be packed we called ahead of time & reserved a table for party of ten helping us avoid having to wait for one which was really cool bypassing the crowd right up the second floor. They have an elevator for the handicapped which was a blessing as my momma played soccer and has bad knees. Our waiter Caine was witty, funny& damn cool. He took our order perfectly and despite the capacity the kitchen spat out Our entire 10 order in less than as many minutes (less than 10 minutes), and presentation & taste, impressive! Big Up to The Kitchen Crew. No lie, my neice ate 2 whole taco plates on her own, she is thin as a sewing pin. THEN, Caine busted out the Birthday Sombrero for Momma, she wore "Happy" Tears as she blew her candles out. She says it was her Best Birthday we had ever given her! (ME & BaBy Sister yeah that was US!) Making my night & Dining experience one I will always remember & cherish. Okay So here's the thing.. im very picky with my food. Especially with Quesabirria tacos. So I decided to try these here. And let me tell you.. it was so delicious. I’ve been sleeping on this restaurant. I haven’t been here in years and out of the blue my boyfriend mentions we grab dinner here. It was a great choice! The food was fresh and so delicious. Homemade tortillas with spicy papas. We ordered an appetizer and it was forgotten, no big deal but we still wanted it. The server ended up comping the queso when we didn’t even complain. My husband and I and little one are from California and let me tell you we have been in Texas for a while now and we have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant that is the same as California and wow our first time coming here was beyond amazing even better than California first of all we were greeted great by the host and our server she was amazing always checking on us and making sure we had everything. I forgot her name but she has blond hair. She was fast and very kind. The food was amazing in California they never serve us that huge bowel of chips with the salsa we were at WOW they were so good as well. We ordered the carne asada fries 10/10 and the two chili rellenos with rice and beans 10/10 and amazing it brought us memories of our grandma/moms cooking. The portion is amazing especially for sharing with your husband/wife/kids my little one got the kids menus cheeseburger with fries 10/10 and she loved it everything is legit homemade the fries were crispy and soft and just amazing flavor that I cannot describe. The soft drinks were amazing I am pregnant and I’ve tried all sprites from different places and nothing compares to Albarran’s Mexican Bar And Grill the sprit tasted so refreshing so did the ice tea and the coke and Dr Pepper. The water was also amazing. And you cannot beat the price it was all $47 for us three for what we ordered we thought it would of been more also I loved the decorations and the music. The restrooms were so clean and organized everything was so perfect and the managers are always friendly going up to you making sure we had refills and had everything we needed. we will be coming again. I wish I would of taken a picture of the food but we were so hungry we just ate as soon as it came out. Trust just go on in and eat!! Edited: second time here and we got the molcajete that served me my hubby and my little one and for my little one some enchiladas with beans and rice and let’s talk about the huge bowel of chips! Pregnancy craving satisfied!!❤️

The service we received here was amazing. We had a group of 8 adults and were immediately seated. The waitress was very kind and never once let anyone's cups run dry. The food came out quickly and correctly despite it being a Saturday at lunchtime. We will definitely be returning here the next time we're in town.

Came here to eat with my fiancé and her family while we were in Lubbock for the weekend. We at first we’re trying to go to the toasted yolk cafe and farmhouse for breakfast but we’re unable to because they were extremely busy on a Sunday morning. We definitely chose a good alternative to the other two. I personally had the Chicken Fried Chicken while everyone else had Chicken Fried Steak, Ribeye and Brochetas and the Deluxe Burrito. Overall the food was very delicious as I remember 4 years ago when I ate here during graduation weekend. Along with this, the wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. I do recommend anyone to come eat here for lunch or dinner as the food will be good.

So my family took me here for my birthday. First time experience food was great! I ordered the Laredo plate (one enchilada, chalupa ,and taco). My son said he loved the beans and he is picky. Service was great on the day we went and we would definitely go again. Prices are also reasonable. Must try the mixed drink called " spicy fresa". Its most definitely a place to try if you like trying new places.

Food is very good. Every time I sit downstairs, I have cold air blowing right on me. The lady sitting right across from me was freezing too, so I complained. Didn't seem to change anything.

The margaritas, queso, salsa, and chips are excellent. The entrees were not very good. The service was slow, but he was trying. We love that they take call ahead.

The food was great. The waitress was preoccupied or distracted as she took an order for two but only brought one plate out. I had to wait for her to submit my order. Drink refills were few and far between. She was not attentive or concerned with her service during this interaction.

First time at Albarran Restaurant, all was good, from service to the food. Can say very different from other Tex Mex restaurants.

We tried Albarran's again tonight. We were seated right away, and our server Cristian was amazing! He was quick to bring extra napkins, rifill our water, and ask if we needed to go boxes. This guy was very busy hopping from table to table and still found a way to stay on top of each one. That is GREAT service. I feel he needs to train staff, get a raise and an "at a boy!" The facility was clean. The food was hot, and pretty good.

The food and service were both good however serving size was pretty small. I know this won't be a popular option, but it is mine. I'm not a fan of therapy dogs in restaurants. Now dogs that help with people who have seizures or blind things of that nature absolutely. I understand dogs have to be allowed on premises. But a toy poodle sitting at the table eating out of the chip bowl isn't acceptable in my book. Not too sure I'll go back soon.

Good food and good drinks. Good service provided by the bartender. My only complaint is the clientele there. All white, mostly subdued and will glare at you. All I could do is stare back and scoff at them. Seriously, you’re the ones in a Mexican-themed restaurant. All I can say is that if there are any racist or bigoted clientele amongst the sea of white faces that I saw there, they HAD BETTER treat the Latino staff and workers with respect and tip them well! My husband and I did. In my personal opinion, white clientele in Lubbock who are racist and bigoted are undeserving of a place like Albarran’s. For the staff working there, great work! We hope to go back and spend more!

I think this restaurant needs to decide if it is a disco or restaurant.. you can’t sit down and have a conversation while having an ok meal.. this is ok Tex Mex not Mexican food .. there are better and less expensive restaurants in Lubbock for sure .. Was highly disappointed today. We did not realize that they closed at 5 on Sundays which was fine, but being rushed to order our food and felt like we were rushed to eat was not okay. Our poor waitress came out apologizing because she was told by the kitchen staff that we had 9 minutes to get our order in because they were closing the kitchen in 9 minutes but yet other people were coming in to sit down 2 minutes before 5. 5 o'clock hit and they turned off all the music and TVs even though there was customers still eating. The next thing we hear is the kitchen staff's music up load and half the staff walking around looking at all the customers and making everyone feel like they needed to hurry and up and get out. We love Albarran's but if you are going to close early then just don't open on Sundays, because it was absolutely ridiculous to be treated that way and we couldn't even enjoy our food or the company we were with.

Well a very rough experience for Sunday lunch at 11am. Two out of six of us didn’t order anything because our server couldn’t adjust or suggest changes for dietary needs. Patio is lovely and the queso was good. It wasn’t busy at 11am so we felt like the staff could use a bit more support from management on service training. Seemed to be confusion in the kitchen too. The prices are right for an average dining experience. Cute place tho

My first time dining here at night. Every lunch meal has been great, food and service. Service this time was ok but poor guy couldn't answer one question. Queso was barely warm. Told plates were the opposite of what they were (enchiladas vs chili relleno) and plates looked identical. It seemed very loud, we actually wondered if the server was even hearing us correctly. I will try another time since prior lunch visits were good. My 2 friends,it was their first visit and they were not happy about cold queso and plates switched, unable to answer a question. They said they have had better elsewhere and wouldn't go back. It's TexMex with a good variety.

The hostess who sat us was very rude. We asked for a booth downstairs and she didn't even look at a computer or around the corner to see. Pretty much just disregarded what we were asking for. They had a infant and the mom had to go hunt down a high chair for herself. She was not very nice at all. Our waiter was great. Very attentive and took care of us, the food came out as expected, no surprise. The front of the house just needs alot of attention to customer experience.

A friend who lives lical loves this place. Been here twice, and although not terrible, I was not impressed. This time I had fajita enchiladas. The fajitas had no flavor, drowned out by the very-average queso and cheese of the enchiladas. Both the rice and the beans were a flavor I did not enjoy. Had some jalapeno poppers for appetizer, and the jalapeno was barely cooked, crunchy, which of course spills the inside cheese all over the place and is hard to bite in half without dragging the whole jalapeno out of the fried crust, so I had to pretty much cram each one whole. We sat outside in nice weather, which was a massive misteak because the 2nd floor balcony had kids that constantly slid the chairs all over the deck so loudly we couldn't hear each other talk. Service wasn't great because we didn't get any service for almost 10 min, barely any drink refills, and wrong drink and orders along the way. We had 3 different people waiting on us cause our primary server was never around. First visit was inside, but still loud, but a little better service that time. The look is definitely a neat mexican flare to everything. Overall not really pleased with this place, and cannot recommend it as a good place for tasty mexican food or good conversation.

Jaeden was our server and he needs some more training. Walked up to our table with our ticket asking us if we had a pen to fill out the receipt as he’s holding a pen in his hand. Would ask if we needed refills and then would take our cups and disappear. Told us we couldn’t order no rice extra beans. The food was subpar and I’ve made better in my kitchen. Food and service were 2/5. Won’t be back. 2/5.

Returned this last Friday evening after it being a long while. Ended up with food poisoning. Had the fried avocado with ground beef. Unsure if I will return.

Please….. clean the outside of your restaurant it’s an embarrassment to not only yourself but our town… take pride in your garbage and broken lights…. It’s not hard

We had pretty good food the other night and our waitress was so good. The manager Matt was so rude however. We asked a few questions and he acted like he was above us. Very short and had no interest in us like he did other tables ! Will never go back bc of him!

This experience was beyond disappointing. First off, the food was bland -- seriously lacking seasoning and flavor. Everything tasted like it was missing something... maybe salt, maybe soul. Not sur…

Albarran’s used to be my favorite restaurant. Lately every time so go, the wait staff is rude. Tonight we went and the waiter looked like he was stoned and hadn’t washed his hair in a month. He has it down long and it was dangling near the table. Then when I ordered he told me I couldn’t order what I wanted. They have lost 3 long-time customers because no one in our family will be coming back. I will not spend my money where the staff is rude and the service is poor.

Horrible customer service from the Host When the party of 5 got seated it was not even cleaned. Food on the floors and a baby chair. We waited for a manger and when he came he was not concerned or empathetic to the situation as if it is a normal thing. We seated ourselves at the bar to wait 15 minutes more to get our table cleaned and have a waitress return to let us know the table was ready. In which it was still not. Poorest service in Lubbock this far. I blame the manger Matt. Please tell the owners this needs attention Customer don’t get paid to run this shift telling people to sweep and wipe tables. Just Sad! Ben should the manager if u ask me!l promote Ben !!

Chips bowel dirty look around at other chips bowels at other tables look the same order was taken right server maya didn’t wright iit down and when I explain my order was mess up server said they re make but instead scrap off beans and salad and add rice and more sauce plate look a mess didn’t even wipe and sever maya never came back to check up on us except to give us our bill!!! Update The wonderful manager Mathieu reach out and know that me and my partner got to this great place once a week for us date and he totally heard what happen and has made thing better thanks Mathieu !!!!

So this place is getting one star because I can't tell you how the food was. We sat in there for 15 minutes waiting for somebody to come to our table. We had to literally get up and walk out. The manager noticed us but did not approach us to ask us anything. So if you're planning on going to this place, it's a joke

The service was absolutely awful. From start to finish. Only 2 of us in our party and we for sure were an inconvenience the entire time. She came to the table a total of 3×1st to get the order second to give us our food and third to give us our ticket. She threw our plates on the table ( we had soup) and we never saw her again until it was time to go. Never will will be back simply because of the horrible customer service. Do better!!!

We eat here often and usually don’t have complaints. My husband had fajitas. Meat wasn’t tender but it was a plate full of fajitas, probably 8 or so strips. They brought 3 tortillas. My husband asked for one more. The waitress said she’d get it but came back and said her manager would not let her bring one, it had to be an order of 3 which was $5 more. We just bought a $25 meal-seriously??? The manager came and said sorry that’s the rule. The “rule” just lost regular customers over one tortilla. This was Saturday 1/4/25 around 530 pm.

Usually we don’t have issues coming here. Staff could be better but subpar service seems to be everywhere so we’re more or less used to it. The only great thing about our visit yesterday were the chips and salsa. My husband stated his refried beans were awful, and the rice I had was way overcooked. Our server couldn’t be bothered to remember our drink orders, as she had to ask us each what we had. Then she didn’t even bring me the correct drink initially, she brought lemonade in place of sprite. I mean, they aren’t too far off from each other but still. She was on her phone a lot of the time and seemed miserable. We didn’t tip as a result. If you can’t be bothered to try a little harder, you can’t even remember our drink order, and you’re too concerned with playing on your phone, you clearly do not want much of a tip if any. Not sure we’ll be back. The other reviews regarding the waitstaff are accurate. They couldn’t care less about customers.

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. Beware about this place, they do not enforce Covid-19 CDC guidelines or state mandate guidelines at all (50% capacity and tables at least 6 ft apart). Another thing I witnessed is that they do not disinfect the tables when people are done eating, I was surprised about this, and now I am concerned that I may have caught something by being there. People were walking around without masks at all times, and the waitress had their masks halfway on. Attached are pictures for reference. Hopefully the restaurant owners sees them and do something about it.

I had been here before and didn’t have any issues, but I just visited in a Friday evening as the last date for me and my wife before we have our baby boy, and everything was disappointing and generally off. They had us go all the way upstairs, even though she’s very obviously 8.5 months pregnant, they had the bartender serve as our waiter, (and you could tell he did not care to provide quality customer service, and was in a rush every time he came by) and the food was fine to their credit, but whatever you do, do NOT order the pecan brownie. It tasted like stale instant chocolate cake, didn’t have a brownie texture, and the chocolate was burnt by the skillet they serve it in. Overall, pretty bad experience. Very sad because like I said, it was fine last time, but I guess it was a couple years ago.

Our waitress kept disappearing, the food came out fast but the beef fajita on the nachos was so dry it was not edible.
