Our breakfast burritos were good, but they were just a little pricey for the size. We do enjoy a meal here occasionally.

George's Restaurant is a great family-owned restaurant great home cooking food reasonable prices they can get really busy really fast so make sure you're there at a decent time before rush hour especially on weekdays and weekends what am I saying I guess that's any day of the week or weekend because they've got such good food

I would give six stars if I could. I get to come out here and eat at least once a week, and it gets better every time. The food is fantastic, and the service is even better. Everyone here knows our orders by heart now. They love to talk about life with us, and have even helped me study on multiple occasions. The atmosphere is wonderful. I couldn't think of a better place to go eat on the weekends!

We have enjoyed going to the townhouse but right before Christmas we took my sister and brother-in-law there. Yes the music is so loud I got nauseated 🤮 I had to take my food home and not enjoy the meal with my family.. Many people have complained about the music being so loud when we ask one of the male servers to turn the music down he said well the people here like the music to be loud. We will not be coming back until I hear that they put that music low enough where you can have a conversation across the table. I am really sad that nothing has been done about this SHAME ON You

First time here me & the wife enjoyed western omelette breakfast with extra bacon on the side.

Food and service was fantastic! Our server, Maria, was attentive and friendly. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and the portion size was very generous for the price. Safe to say that George’s just made two new regulars today!

If you are lucky enough to have "Eddie" working as a cook during your visit, you are in for a treat! He truly cares about the food he is serving and never stops smiling! LOVE his mushroom swiss burgers!

The service and food were excellent. I'm a diabetic and had an unexpected sugar drop. I asked her if I could have a couple of sugar packets, not only that she was kind enough to bring a couple of Oreo packets and offered me some orange juice. She herself is a diabetic and understood. After that we had a very enjoyable dinner. Would recommend.

We went in today after church. They were very busy which is always a good sign. We set down and a waitress was at our table right away. We looked at the menu and she came to take our order. The food was out quickly even though they were busy. It was all cooked as ordered. We had French toast with bacon and eggs and hash browns and pancakes with ham and eggs and hash browns. The French toast was great and the pancakes were delicious. We will be back again.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend. It has been years since I last visited George's in Lubbock and I was glad to see they have not changed. They are still a good local chain to get some good home style Texas cooking. Nothing fancy, but delicious and at a great price. I had their chicken fried steak and my wife had their grilled pork chop. Both were on the lunch special for $10.99 , which is about the best price I have paid for a restaurant meal in a long time. Our server was very sweet and attentive. If you are in Lubbock and you want some great prices home style cooking in an old cafe style restaurant, then George's should be on your list.

I love steak fingers and haven’t been able to find good steak fingers until George’s. The food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. When we comeback to Lubbock we will definitely be coming to George’s.

Pretty good local restaurant with a good breakfast menu. The breakfast burritos are great and the biscuits and gravy are fantastic. They have a good ole fashion classic club sandwich as well.

No fuss, no frills, just good down home cooking. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Can't go wrong with anything on the breakfast menu. For lunch and dinner, I'm partial to the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Service was great. I had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. The meal was good except the mashed potatoes. I would have preferred real potatoes to boxed potatoes. Also, the interior was hot and slightly uncomfortable.

Let me begin by saying, this is a good place to eat. Period!! Food is Good , its Clean , its a Safe environment. ETC. You probably won't get your bacon or hash browns or fries cooked the way you order them , & you won't get enough fish on Friday as you want , for the price, but , Hey! We're getting price gouged everywhere, right.? But considering what We pay at Wendy's , Whataburger , McDonald's, ESPECIALLY McDonald's ,definitely a good stop.

Food is good, atmosphere is ok, sometimes it is really loud. Service is hit or miss. When we get service it is a pleasant experience, but occasionally we don't get any service, if we wait 20 minutes and no one comes to service us, then we just leave. This is not a one time thing i would say it happens 1 out of 3 times that we go in.

I used to go here quite frequently about 4-6 times a month. The quality just isn't the same anymore. I stopped going to the one on 4th st. Because of the service I received... That was over 2 years ago. Just disappointed.

The food was good, the waitress was nice until we checked out and she did not give me my coin change! I asked her and she gave me a dime! She was too interested in flirting with a guy

Fast and friendly service and the food was ok. We got our food to go as we were stopping in town and not from around the Lubbock area. We love home cooked food restaurants! They got our food to us pretty fast. The food was decent. One of our burgers had a one small tomato and a single pickle in it and the club sandwich had tomatoes in every bite that it made the sandwich soggy. We also ordered cheese sticks that we did not get because it wasn't written down. I told our server twice and the second time she looked at me, repeated it but did not write it down and we could not stay and wait for them. Whataburger would have been a little better and cheaper than what we paid.

Nice waitress. 30 min wait for food but she may have been solo. Cheese omlette with very little cheese. I chose Potatoes instead of hashbrowns which were akin to cut up french fries. Good news $7.99. I would try for yourself in case this was an off day.

We were very optimistic about georges and we were looking for a good mom-pop breakfast shop. we went in after church only to be disappointed. it took 45 minutes to even get our food. i ordered french toast with bacon and eggs and my husband had eggs bacon hash browns and a biscuit. the french toast was just 3 extremely large pieces of toast with a little powdered sugar on top. my husbands plate was the most disappointing. He ordered scrambled eggs, well you can tell they didn't use real eggs his hash browns were a big pile of mushy, freezer burned tasting potatoes and they charged us extra to have a biscuit instead of toast. while waiting the 45 mins to get food our waitress came to the table once. we basically had to get our own refills.

The food is not great. I remember working at Sam's club many years ago and seeing them buying a lot of frozen food. Their name was on the Sam's card. So we paid $40 for reheated, frozen food. Only reason for 2 stars is the friendly staff. Fresh food is the only way for a restaurant!

Ate at this location and was disappointed. I had fish and it was good, but my wife has a burger and the meat was cold and tasted like it was cooked a hour ago then stuck in a bun when we ordered. We eat George’s burgers at Post and Ralls and they are the best, making this location a big disappointment.

I stopped in for breakfast this morning only to be disappointed and disgusted that they had FoxNews on the TV. When at a business establishment I don’t want to be confronted by political propaganda no matter if it’s right wing or left wing. Why can’t we enjoy a meal at a restaurant in this town without there being televisions? TV has totally ruined the atmosphere and the dining experience.

We use to love George’s. The past couple of times not so much and tonight not at all. We were way over charged. Ordered a meat omelette that the menus says $11.99 choose ham bacon or sausage includes toast and hash brown. Went to pay and the omelette 9.99 sausage 1.99 hash brown 1.99. Toast 1.00. I’m sorry but that is NOT what the menus says. Also 2 chicken fried steaks from the evening special 13.99. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food and it was Luke warm at best gravy had a film over it from sitting and getting cold! We won’t be back.

Cheese sticks were still cold when we bit into them. Had the waitress take them off the ticket, we got the breakfast plate wasn't pleased with it at all either won't go here again. The waitress was super nice and attentive which was the only thing good about this place.

Staff is friendly, place is comfortable. Ordered a porkchop plate, meat was not seasoned, dry, and tough. Server did not check on us or food/drinks after delivering food. Ended up eating without a drink as the empty cup sat at edge of table my entire meal. I recommend if you come here do so during a rush time, the staff is considerably more attentive.

Club sandwhich had hardly any meat in it. Chicken sandwhich was rubbery, tiny, and was served with raw spots. Prices were higher than average. Service seemed fine. We won't be back.

The last two times, I patronized this George's restaurant was not good. The first, there was one table with customers we sat down and three employees were talking with each other, after about seven minutes of watching them visit we got up and patronized another restaurant. The second, at my wife's instance, there were two tables with customers eating. We ordered, and about 17 minutes later, we received our hamburgers. There were no other orders up for the cook. I would understand if there were other customers, but we were the only orders he had. The food was ok, I had to go twice to get refills since the waitress was busy watching the grass grow. I will be surprised if this restaurant is still open a year from now.

I sat at the table by myself without ever seeing a server while watching all of the families that came in after me get served immediately. I left after about 15 minutes. They can’t be bothered to serve someone by themselves.

This place use to have the best service and the food was so good. Unfortunetly I haven’t had the chance to try it again because of the terrible service they started to have. We have went in for dinner several times, and even tonight I had to walk out due to no service. I wasn’t the only one that walked out tonight either. Done with trying to eat at this place. Save yourself some time and go somewhere, where you can actually get service.

I went through the drive thru never been here before told the Older Mexican man I had to order when he came outside to ask me what I needed. I got to the window and ordered there was a truck after me and the older Mexican man was talking to the older white man in the truck. As soon as this man behind me got his order he yells out as he passes me saying call ahead next time. There should not been any conversation about how I ordered to anyone from an employee at the restaurant. Then when I payed for my food he didn’t say thank you was just rude and closed the window. I will never go back there again. Poor service.

I reviewed this George's a few years ago. I don't know what happened to it, but it has really gone downhill. The service was pitiful. Never received my salad that was ordered. And the meal was overcooked. It will be a long time before I go there again! Sorry, I HATE to give a review like this! Especially for George's!

Since Covid I have been placing to go orders at this restaurant without incident until last week when out of the three platters I ordered only one was accurate. I contacted them and was told “next time you order we will make it right”... that was a lie. I called a few days later and was told by Saeed that there was no record of that botched order but I could call back when the other manager was there.. maybe she’d remember me. “What!?! Okay.. I’ll call back later.” So I call back a day later and was placed on hold for ten minutes then hung up on. Y’all just lost a long time customer who supported you during COVID restrictions.

Worst service EVER!! I ordered two Carne asada burritos with beans and lettuce and first I was not informed that they did not carry Carne Asad so they gave me a bean and lettuce burrito and there was hardly beans on it and when I called to talk to a manager I spoke to 3 different people and they were arguing with me. I have been in the fast food industry and you do not argue with customers at all so I won't be going there ever again!!!!

We tried George's again tonight and unfortunately had to walk out after sitting for 10+ min without even acknowledging we were there. We use to go often an they had great food and great service, then service and food went down hill tremendously an we stopped going for a while, we've tried giving them a chance several times since an always end up having to walk out without service. Will not be trying again!!

I haven't been to George's in a while and only reason I dont go anymore is cause the food was never consistent and seemed to be going downhill.t This is the 1st time that I've been back in probably 2-3 years. got a Burger a drink and some fries and cost me $12.....11.57 to be exact. Inch thick tomatoes made the whole burger sloppy. Like I said, no consistency. Any other burger joint, like bonus burger, christakis,even whataburger with even better burgers, usually cost an average of $8 this is poor quality food for at outrageous price. I asked for extra ketchup and got 2 packets. The drink was so packed with ice, that my boy drank it in two drinks. I'll never go there again. I should have just stayed in line at Whataburger!

We came to eat. We arrived at 135 pm. Door says open between 6am and 2 pm. So we thought we could get in to eat but thedoor was locked. If the door was locked at 130 pm then why does the sign say open between 6am and 2 pm. Obviously not

No service at all. Went in and it was not busy at all. After 10 minutes had to get up and get our own menus as the people working there walked by as if we weren't there. After 10 more minutes of being ignored we got up and left. It was as if we weren't even there....no telling if the food was any good because we were treated like they didn't even see us.

Long wait on to go order. Stated ready in 20 min took 45. Ordered the liver and onions taste was okay liver was overcooked and very small portions overall not impressed ...first time here.

I took my family here to eat breakfast. This place used to be so amazing and everything has changed in a very bad way. We will never ever come here again. We had to sit at a dirty table for 30 minutes waiting for someone to clean it and finally serve us. When the lady finally came she took our drinks and our food order. After that she never came back. We waited an hour and 45 minutes for our food. My fiancé and I looked in the kitchen. They had plates of food stacked on top of each other like they were dirty plates. The employees were touching the food with there bare hands and throwing it on the plate. It was very unsanitary and very disgusting. Once we noticed that we decided to leave. That was a very disgusting environment and very unprofessional. I highly recommend not coming here. If I could give negative stars I would.

Wish I had my Dodgers hat that was left there by accident. Called them soon after and they said its safe behind the counter .. I come back and its gone. Now I dont think a customer would go behind the counter especially for a dodgers hat. So what does that say about staff. Iwner not 1 time offered to look at camera or replace it. My fault. If its not mine i dont take it.

We had time I'm between baseball games so I figured we would try this place out, worst experience ever! We waited over an hour for our food and went to tell the waitress we had to leave just to get charged for our meal that we never received. A larger group showed up after us ( my family of 3) and were served theirs first. This waitress didn't offer to make things right with us at all. Not to mention the entire wait staff was in the back just standing around not checking on tables at all.This is definitely not a place to go eat unless you want to wait forever!

Food is great !! Customer service is not too good ! Called to ask a question lady said rudely “ we’re not taking orders right now “ and hung up on me didn’t even give me a chance to say anything wasn’t even needing to place a order just had a question !

We have been twice now. The first time staff was terrible! Inattentive, did not get our orders correct (parts of our meals were missing and we were basically too bad) and was very unfriendly. The food was great though so we waiting several months and decided to try it again and hopefully it was just a bad experience last time. Service was terrible again, waitress rushed us to order, we told her we wanted an appetizer and we didn't know what we wanted to eat, she walked the appetizer order over and immediately came back and ask for our order (maybe took all of 30 seconds). Then while placing my order she started yawning really loud and complaining how tired she was (while I'm speaking) and then rushed my order (and I already knew what I wanted thankfully so not like I was still checking the menu). Food was no good, couldnt cut my chicken fried chicken with a knife. Over all I was very disappointed and will definitely not be going back.

We have used the drive up window 3 times and EVERY time when we get home the order has been wrong; not a little wrong but every person (4of us) had something wrong with our order 1x and other 2 x’s at least 2 out of 4 wrong! We called and only told “Oh sorry”. We decided tonight to try ONE MORE TIME......told staff how every time, x3, order has been wrong. Staff was very nice and gave us a 25% discount this time. She went over order verbally and it was correct. The owner was cooking tonight so figured this time it would be right. Got home (we live out of town) and 2 out of 4 of the meals were wrong again!!! No more......won’t go back!

Was one of the worst dining experiences. Took over 20 minutes to get waited on. Once we were waited on a salad was brought out, but we had no silverware. Our meals finally came out and we had to ask for silverware and we had to ask for drink refills. My meal was not hot when it got to the table and the fries were cold on one of the other meals. It took a approximately 45 minutes from the time we sat down to get our food. The time we were at the table no one came to ask us if we needed anything or to let us know the status of our order.

Wish I could give a 0 star but oh well 1 will have to do. Worst breakfast i ever ate in my life the over easy eggs i asked for werecooked all the way thru like boiled eggs beans cold the bacon i could have broken a tooth on.. an old man walked up ask me how my food was i told him worst food ever and he got upset stuck his hand in my plate grabbed my bacon smashed it in his hands and told us to get out 😂 never will go back drive from levelland to eat there ..wasted gas and time on my day off sucks ..the waitress was good though she did great IT WAS WHAT HAPPEN !!!!

Went there today and we sat directly across the kitchen and saw everyone of them people touch our food with their bare hands they had no gloves on . The cook was touching his face and then touching our food, the waitress 3 different ones touch our food with their bare hands like we walked out and didn’t even eat their food.

If you want to eat, some of the worst food and the most horrible service. This is your place to go overpriced. Small portions, horrible service, and quite honestly do not know how to cook breakfast to save their lives. This is good to you. It’s because you have eaten horrible food, your whole life, please go see an IHOP Denny’s would even be better, the worst breakfast I’ve ever had

Updated review- 7/28/25 Unfortunate to see willfully ignorance of health code violation, allowing a dog to be sitting at the table in a booth. When asked if they allow it, waitress responded with "we usually don't have a problem letting people have animals in here". What? If they don't have problems ignoring that health code, it makes you wonder what other codes they ignore. They won't miss our patronage, but just thought people should know.

Every time I order from here there is either something missing or the order is wrong. The prices for the salads are insane I can understand the loaded ones but $12.99 but for the Caesar salad which only comes with lettuce chicken and dressing is insane maybe add some cheese and croutons make it worth the money. Ive gone to this establishments twice in the last month or so..and this will more than likely be my last. The first time the food was far below my expectations…I had the steak finger dinner…it was way over cooked. My most recent food purchase was a regular breakfast burrito, sausage, egg, and cheese. Not only did the burrito not have any flavor at all the lady that waited on me was very rude. If by chance the owner of this restaurant reads this please get better training for the people that work at your restaurant.
