Best coffee in Lubbock. I've been to Gatsby's, sugar browns, J&Bs, and Gold Stripe - Yellow House is the best in every aspect. Knowledgeable and welcoming baristas, full taste profile in coffee, and a quiet, warm atmosphere. You're expectations will be exceeded without a doubt.
Super-friendly staff with exceptional coffee. They use several different methods of brewing their beans which are always fresh (next time you're there, ask them when their beans were roasted, it's usually within a week). Also, all of their beans are bought from farms all over the world using fair trade practices. 5 stars!
Yellow House Coffee is my favorite shop in town! The atmosphere is so cozy and you always feel valued when you go in. If you're not a fan of coffee, they have great teas and lemonades. Be sure to try out the orange-lemonade this summer!
Was driving around looking for a coffeeshop and decided I'd give this place a shot since I'm into local coffeeshops. This place is definitely a lot more friendlier than J&Bs and not as complicated to find a seat. Coffee was really good and the service was great.
Best coffee in Lubbock! The Baristas are amazing in the atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I love relaxing for a few minutes with a cup of espresso or tea and just enjoying the ambiance.
This is the absolute best place for avid coffee drinkers to go. I love their selection of Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters. I went to college in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas and you find me there weekly. Finding this place when moving here was like a sign from God. The barista's are all very nice and enthusiastic about their work. If you are in college or just need a place to hop on some free wifi while drinking a nice cup of Joe, this is your place. Also after your 10th drink you get one free, which for me is a monthly thing.
Friendly staff, and delicious coffee. The coffee is reasonably priced and the place is usually pretty quiet. They often have musicians perform here on the weekends. A must visit for a Lubbock local or for anyone passing by.
I was in town visiting family and I needed some good coffee. I found this place on Google and stopped in for a pour over. It was one of the best pour overs that I've ever had from a coffee shop. I'll definitely be going back.
Supurb cup of coffee! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We didn't realize that they were closed for their Christmas party but they invited us in anyway, made our coffee and made us feel welcome and appreciated. Great place, great people.
Their coffee is the best! Get a Chemex and a banana cinnamon muffin for a phenomenal breakfast or snack. It's a small shop, but that forces you to use your space and time wisely while there.
Best BBQ in Lubbock hands down!! The ribs are fall off the bone tender, the seasoning used is perfection and the sauce 🤯. Don't skip the sides the green beans and cheesy papas are drool worthy.
Great knowledgeable service. Amazing open face toast “sandwich” - the Wagner special is legit! Great, great cappuccino! Plenty of seats in this little unique coffee shop.
I love Yellowhouse! Their cream sodas are amazing (try the apple cider cream soda...it's yummy!) They have a great atmosphere and super knowledgeable and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I went on our very first date here, and we just got married a couple months ago! I'm not saying Yellowhouse matched us up, but I'm not saying they DIDN'T either. :))) Highly recommend!
The taste of the coffee is quiet amazing but that is not the best part about this shop. When you walk in, the staff makes it a point to ask your name and get to know you. Service is a lost art. They found it.
Wonderful coffee and assorted other beverages. Feeling adventurous? Try the lavender italian cream soda or the lavender chocolate milk! So delicious. Great study spot as well. Good central location too.
When my son visited me, he'd already researched coffee shops. He chose Yellow House Coffee and we went several times while he was here. It was fun to try some place I hadn't been. Yellow House was cozy, the baristas we're friendly, and the coffee was good.
Excellent coffee in Lubbock. Every time we visit Lubbock we come at least once to get a coffee here. The location is great, close to campus. The building is cute and well decorated. There is a good amount of seating. The baristas are nice. And most importantly the coffee is awesome. We have been getting americanos and they are delicious. Very smooth and tasty. My only complaint is that they don't have decaf espresso. I like to get 1/2 caf americanos sometimes and that isn't an option
Love everything about this place. The coffee, the baristas, the service, the environment. I love the Saturday morning breakfast menu, it's worth a trip across town! I love how they do get to know your name so you feel like family! Keep up the great work!!
This was our 3rd day coming and the coffee is amazing! I love how they use different coffees each day . The staff are amazing! super friendly and very welcoming they take the time to know their customer's.
The coffee here is amazing! I studied in Italy for about a month and came to appreciate their pastry and coffee-based breakfast. As much as I wanted to reminisce over my month in Italy, this restaurant has its west Texas charm. However, if Rome had a southern themed coffeehouse, it would look a lot like Yellow House. The folk/folk country glistened the atmosphere. I forgot to ask where they get their music from. I can appreciate pop country, but top 40 country isn’t my go-to music. What they were playing is why I love the fiddle with a little slide guitar that gave pre 90’s country music the impact that it did. I should have used my phone to figure out what they were playing but I was overcome with their coffee and the scone I bought from them. The lighting was perfect complement to the music. Even under this bright Lubbock sky around noon, the lighting still felt like I was drinking coffee during sunrise or sunset. For a moment, I forgot I lived in Lubbock, and Yellow House made me want to look out for other possible spots that would tempt me to stay. Right now, it’s only the cost of living and the lack of traffic that lures me to this town. There is no need to muck up your coffee Yellow House brews with any sweeteners. I did out of habit because I drink a lot of coffee at Texas Tech. I initially waited for the coffee to cool down, another habit, only to realize that they brew their coffee at the right temperature for instant gratification. I forgot what I ordered. It was a seasonal coffee that was recommended by the cashier. Next time I’m going to drink my coffee black and without sugar. Their coffee doesn’t need anything added. To bring me back to Rome, I also ordered a scone. They had a limited selection of pastries. Still, the scone I ordered was heavy enough to complement the coffee while light enough to be enjoyed. It was sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth, but healthy enough to justify a pastry. The scone was very rustic. Italians will eat cake smothered with Nutella with their breakfast. A little too sweet for me, but Yellow House’s scone was perfect for my American sensibilities. Its outside was slightly crunchy while the inside was warm and soft. Had I been a wealthier man than I am now, I would have ordered another scone. Overall, I loved it here. It’s easy to see why they have nearly 5 stars after 200+ votes. I really hope there are more places like this because it’s hard to be single and 30 in Lubbock. The women here are either too young and obsessed with complying with the sorority standard, or they are married with kids and adhere to many Republican principles. The women here I thought were cute and hopefully close to my age. The patrons were your 30-year-old southern hipster types, which comforted me that there might be more hiding elsewhere in this town. I feel a little at home and among similar people (people with piercings, tattoos, and have a love for good music) like me in this coffeehouse. I only write reviews for places I really love or hate, so hopefully this is just another review of many great ones of this place that lures more people to keep establishments of this kind to thrive while also inspiring more to open up shops in this area and in this town that fuels a hipster market to thrive in Lubbock. Hopefully then, I might think twice about staying in this town.
This place is great! It's a bit smaller than most coffee shops in the area which makes it more quite and more appropriate to study in. My last visit there included my wife an I ordering two chai drinks. The barista mentioned after he had given us our drinks it took longer than expected and continued to give us both coupons for next time that included a free coffee and 1/2 off a menu item.
Everything was great! We had the chocolate chip banana bread and a chocolate cold brew over ice. The cashier was super friendly!
I love this amazing coffee shop... best in town in all aspects, quickly becoming my fav stop in the morning 👊🙌🙌🙌
Excellent☕ and their peanut butter / banana / honey toast is crazy delish 💯🔥
Never heard of a coffee shop that serves BBQ!! I'm visiting from Dallas & met my family for lunch. I ordered the 2-meat plate. Beef Rib 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Turkey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Potato Mash ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beans were pretty standard ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sweet Cornbread 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I had already ate half before realizing I didn't snap a pic! Sooo yummers!! Brisket Sammich ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Customer Service 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️ I didn't really enjoy the desserts, but my lil' cousin loved 'em! Thanks to one of the servers who is highly knowledgeable of the BBQ in Dallas and gave me some referrals, although I only remember the names of one! I should've jotted 'em down. 🤦🏽♀️ Until next time... ✌🏽
I love this little coffee shop! Friendly baristas, cool music, lovely ambiance, and the best drinks. Totally hipster friendly but in no way pretentious.
Such a great spot for quality coffee, great service and a relaxed cute atmosphere!! A favorite for sure !!
I've driven by and was attracted to the bright yellow paint and vintage VW van out front, but I was not prepared for how adorable this place is on the inside! Instagram-worthy date spot for sure! I was in a hurry and getting food to go so I didn't think to take a pic of the inside. Next time! I ordered a brisket sandwich and beans (everything smelled so good!) A vanilla bean cupcake and a soft drink. The drinks are kept ice cold in a cooler with ice, very refreshing. They are HEB brand, and I was expecting coke, but it was pretty good nonetheless. When I arrived at my next destination, I bit into my sandwich and O.M.G. The best brisket I've ever had. Y'all... I'm a 6th generation Texan. It's better than my departed father in law's. It's better than any restaurant including several award-winners in the Dallas area. It's better than my brother's. (I'm sorry bub!) It was so tender I barely needed to chew; it melted in my mouth in the best way. I was full and satisfied and then I wanted more! The cupcake was a little dry (but it was almost 7pm) but the frosting was delicious (and that's why I get cupcakes anyway) There isn't a 10 star rating, so I was forced to only give 5 stars.
This spot is a classic! Coffee is always great and a good bit of seating inside as well.

This place is an oasis in Lubbock! Cute environment, great staff, amazing coffee from Oak Cliff Roasters. Worth a detour if you're passing through town. They didn't have full food menu because pandemic. But they did have delicious baked goods and I highly recommend the scones. We had a peach scone that they warmed and it rocked our world. Thanks Yellow House!
Worth getting up here for the Saturday breakfast. Great coffee and friendly staff. They always have a great variety of beans to choose from, and the baristas are awesome. Have yet to have a drink I didn't enjoy, from a pour over to french press or cortado, they're really nailing it every time. Decent selection of baked goods to choose from, or they've now got a breakfast menu with bacon and eggs, and the like. It can get crowded Saturday mornings, but if you go out back to the patio it's usually easy to find some peace and quiet there for a bit of reading.
WHAT AN AMAZING Coffee shop!!! The barista, William, was so welcoming and helped me pick out a drink I would love! It was my first time there but I am definitely going to become a regular customer! An experience I will always remember! Such great service, and really a gem of a place for all of Lubbock to enjoy!
Yellow House is my favorite coffee shop in Lubbock! All of our local coffee shops have friendly staff and good service, but the staff at Yellow House goes above and beyond. Every time I've been there I've beem treated with a warmth and respect that is rare. The overall experience is more intimate than the other coffee shops in town. The atmosphere is cozy, and of course the coffee itself is excellent! Yellow House is a quintessential Lubbock haunt for locals and visitors alike.
We had cappuccinos & avocado toast they were both phenomenal! The customer service is awesome and the ambiance is great! I enjoyed chatting with my son while we enjoyed our snacks. Great place!

Another small business gem along 34th street serving excellent BBQ in an small building with a underground type vibe. Had the sliced brisket sandwich that was expertly smoked tender and moist. The house BBQ sauce popped with zesty tanginess and raised the level of BBQ. Definitely my favorite of any other establishment.
A cool place to study. There are lots of student in this coffee house. Their price is reasonable and I liked the muffins.
A wonderful local coffee shop with plenty of options on the menu. Everything I've tried has been delicious and their presentation skills are always on point. The coffee is always at the right temperature and I love to come here with family and friends. My only complaint is the extra fee for almond milk. Almond milk costs the same if not less than regular milk and customers shouldn't be charged for choosing a healthier option. I would highly recommend this location and supporting local businesses!
It was after a very wet night so the atmosphere was very damp, but still cozy and will be going back again. Latte was really good, also got a avocado toast with sausage, eggs and cheese half meal. Really good, nothing fancy but a treat. Very nice staff. Definitely going back!

While customer service isn't terrible, it isn't particularly good. Since reopening, I haven't had to wait long for my coffee, but two of my friends have said they have had to wait over ten minutes for their drinks when there wasn't a rush at the coffee shop. Prices are also a little high. One can get a pour over at Gold Stripe for about the same price as a regular 16oz coffee here.
Only coffee shop I have ever been too that doesn't offer wifi. Went to try to work remote for a morning and the sign says they think people spend too much time on their phones so they don't offer wifi. Place was empty, which makes sense. Decent Americano coffee and pretty good biscuit. Avocado toast looked good. Apparently they sell BBQ on the weekends. Lots of seating, seems like they only play country music.
The atmosphere is nice. I like the music choices, and LOVE the organic/healthy/local options. Reminds me of a coffee shop I would find in my hometown in Austin. Only downside is the coffee is pretty eh. I am a very loyal Gatsby's customer, but I decided to try and branch out to Yellow House. My latte was bland. I'll be sticking to Gatsby's. But props to the unique location and such.

Not the same coffee shop. Now with bbq. Different owners. Concept is a bit weird… bbq and coffee don’t really mix… Last time I went in, there was a cockroach running around. Ended up crawling up my buddys leg. Gross. Wish I could give a higher rating but after 3 times going, I won’t go back.
Sadly, drove 10 minutes out of our way to try the coffee because it looked amazing! Their hours showed they opened at 6am and we arrived at 7:20am to find no one in sight. Another customer came up while we were looking inside in search for coffee as well. Please update your hours to save potential customer’s from wasting time.
Parking lot has a lot of pot holes, simple menu, no air conditioning and he made our cold brew with sink water. Way better places for the same price. Not a good experience for me.
Idk. I drove by. Was closed at 9:15 a.m. on a Wednesday. No hours on google or a phone. Looks like a dump. More of a bbq focus I think and maybe that’s good. Don’t go here if you’re looking for a nice espresso lounge.
My semi-hot coffee was served in a cold drink cup! Guess they are about to go under and cant afford cups! Go anywhere else! Management: there is a costco down the street from you!
We came here after the August 2021 Texas Tech Graduations. My wife, who spent 7 years of undergraduate and graduate schooling in Lubbock, loved this place while here and recommended it today. I’ll preface this by saying I rarely, if ever, leave google reviews-you can check my profile to verify. I feel so strongly about my negative experience here that I was compelled to leave this review. There were roughly 5 people in the store when we arrived at 11:00AM on a Saturday morning, 3 of which already had their coffees and 2 others awaiting their small and modest order. Our group of 4 proceeded to wait 45(!) minutes for our drinks, politely asking about 3 times during that duration for updates on our order. The barista was incredibly impolite and didn’t even bother apologize to my wife, a common customer of this coffee shop, for the poor service. To me, and I could be wrong here, you go to a local coffee shop like this for the friendly relationships and the coffee. For a place like this to absolutely butcher this is unfathomable. I don’t care if the coffee bean is the most delicate bean in the world, it should never take 45 minutes to make 4 cups of coffee and then not apologize. I genuinely hope this is an isolated issue with the two men operating the shop today, but if not, this is absolutely unacceptable for a business looking to attract consumers.

Amazing coffee as always! Poor customer service. And it takes forever to get a drink when they're NOT busy!! Miss the old crew! They did a better job! I go in every day!! Sometimes twice a day. Spending a lot of $$ to barely be noticed. The old crew was welcoming and very friendly! This crew is not friendly with me. Maybe it's just me 🤷♀️
