A perfect experience! Elevated cuisine from people who care. Endless craft cocktails made from the best ingredients. Very fun and creative cuisine and a wine list with real people behind them! My perfect restaurant. From meeting Cousin, Christian, and Ralph I am hooked! Thank you for all your recommendations and am amazing evening.
I came here while I was out of town visiting Lubbock. I like searching for new American or chef to table type restaurants. The West Table did not disappoint. I had the quail and brussels sprout appetizer, the beet and goat cheese salad, the pork chops, and in my mind, I had the crème brûlée, but I actually didn’t have enough space to fit that in, so I didn’t actually try it. I actually liked it all so much that I asked to ChatGPT “ are there any restaurants like West Table in Denver?” If I had ordered the same meal in Denver, it would’ve been half the size and twice the cost. They say that everything is bigger in Texas, but I’m telling you that the portion size here was huge for this type of restaurant. I could barely eat it all. It was crazy. And crazy delicious. I think that the prices were quite reasonable for what they were offering. I don’t know if you’ve ever cooked quail, beet salad and pork chops from scratch but 20 minutes to wait is really not that big of a deal. Everything came out with perfect timing steaming hot. It probably would’ve taken me like an hour and a half to try to cook all those things plus I would’ve had to cook them so that in itself would be problematic IMO. They also really very graciously accommodated my requests for gluten-free and if there were certain dishes that would be challenging to accommodate… since they make it from scratch they were willing to try to “improv” the dish or they offered a better suggestion which I appreciated. As others have said, the restaurant is loud. It’s not exactly an intimate quiet setting. But whatevs. My only regrets were: - Not having enough room for the crème brûlée in my stomach -Not having enough money to try all of the nonalcoholic mocktails - not drinking alcohol because I really would’ve liked to try the unemployed astronaut I’m not saying it was cheap. I spent $100 on just me. I’m not sure how I’m gonna know how I’m gonna justify that as a business expense. Probably gonna tell my boss that it was my birthday present. The only thing I think that West Table could do better would be offering “à la cart service” - meaning- can you please wheel me out to my car in a cart after eating all that food?
If you are looking for the perfect place for fine dining and excellent service, this is the place! The food is always exciting, the drinks are top notch and I have ALWAYS had the very best service. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you for another fabulous evening, we can’t wait to go back!
One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a Lubbock restaurant. High quality food made from scratch, my service was the best of the best, absolutely no complaints. I tried the teriyaki marinated ribeye and my wife had the double bone in Durac pork chop and they were absolutely life changing. Delicious cocktails and a very informed bar staff made mine and my wife’s night one to remember. Chef Cameron West and his awesome team truly set a standard for what fine dining should look like and I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for quality scratch food. Could not be happier <3
Our first time here and we had a great experience. The food was excellent. My husband had the duck and he loved it. He said the lomein was the best he's ever had. I had the steak and frites, my filet was cooked perfectly and one of the most tender filets I've ever had. We also had the shashito peppers for an app and it was great, not too spicy. They have great cocktails as well. I have to mention Colton, he was our server and made our experience that much more notable. He was very personable and attentive. Thanks for the birthday dessert, the sopapillas were delicious 😋
This is a happening place! We went for dinner and unfortunately they didn't have a table for 3. We did not have a reservation. However, we went to the bar and had drinks and the menu comes from the same kitchen. The hot chicken sandwich was hot and delicious! The house salad is very good! I was pleasantly surprised. If you are in Lubbock, check It out!
I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical after reading some recent reviews, but I’m so glad I decided to give The West Table a chance and what a fantastic experience it turned out to be! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. The hostess with short hair (unfortunately I didn’t catch her name) was warm and welcoming, and Mason, our server, was absolutely wonderful. I was there with my kids, and right away they offered high chairs and brought water without us even having to ask. Mason kindly let us know that the food might take a little while since everything is freshly made to order, which we really appreciated. It helped set our expectations and made the wait feel totally reasonable (especially since we ordered steaks!). The food itself was excellent. The beetroot salad and crab starter were beautiful and full of flavor. Our mains took a bit of time, as expected, but they were well worth the wait. They also gave crayons to my little one, which made a big difference in keeping him happy. Mason even took the time to chat with us, making the whole experience feel personal and memorable. I truly hope more people start sharing their positive experiences here, because this restaurant, from food to service, really deserves the recognition. Don’t let a few negative reviews deter you. We had an awesome time.
The West Table is one of the best dining establishments in Lubbock. This gem is located in the heart of downtown Lubbock and serving New American cuisine with a twist. We're definitely coming back next time we're in town. Crab Hushpuppies| Crispy Goat Cheese Croquettes| Chicken Fried Bobwhite Quail | General Cho’s Wings | Roasted Beet Salad | Grilled Double Bone-In Pork Chop
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner here around 5:30 on 7/18 while celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary. We were warmly welcomed and immediately seated upon arrival. I had made reservations on yelp, but the place was pretty empty when we showed up. It filled up fast around 6:30 though, so definitely make reservations if you dine later in the evening. We ordered from the zero proof refreshers menu, which was fantastic. We were so glad there were nonalcoholic options here! We ended up trying the palomita blanca, the red berry sour, and the baby blue. Which were all fantastic, but the sour was the best, even though I had to be talked into ordering it since it mentioned containing egg whites. Don’t be afraid to try it! It’s awesome. For our appetizers, we got the crab hush puppies, which were crisp on the outside and filled with moist juicy crab, served on top of a delightful remoulade, and the grilled bobwhite quail, which was expertly prepared on top of crispy brussels and bacon drizzled with yummy honey. Next we moved on to our soup and salad. The southwest corn chowder was smooth with deep rich flavors, and the house salad was one of the best I’ve had with all fresh greens lightly dressed with a bright vinaigrette and really pops with the crunchy pecans and tart raspberries. We then were served our entrees. The pan seared shrimp and the seared duck breast. Both were cooked perfectly. The shrimp were on a bed of fluffy risotto with delightful bits of basil throughout, and the duck rested on a mountain of delectable garlicky stir fried noodles. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, we savored a scrumptious warm skillet cookie covered in cool vanilla ice cream which complemented my after dinner coffee wonderfully. Overall, we absolutely enjoyed our meal and had a very good time!
Wish I could take this restaurant with me back to Houston! We’ve never been to Lubbock, but I’m so glad we chose this place for our first dinner experience. Not quite sure anyone in Lubbock can top it. This place is exceptional!! Perfectly cooked food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere! My only tiny complaint is I wish the dining chairs were more comfortable.
Overall an excellent experience. Service was very good, not rushed but never kept us waiting. Each food item was delicious. This is one of the few places out here in Lubbock where everything was cooked perfectly. My rare steak was actually cooked rare, our guests had pork chops that were beautifully juicy, and the quail appetizer was flavorful and crisp. Even the vegetables were flavorful and tender. Highly recommend and we will defintiely return. Reservations recommended.
Came to The West Table for my boyfriend's birthday and had the best meal I've had in a while. Also, if you're looking for a good mocktail, this place is a must! We recommend the Riki Tiki and the Red Berry Sour. We started off with a couple of mocktails and a shrimp appetizer. They were all tasty and came out within 10 minutes of us ordering. For entrees I got the Lamb and he had the Ribeye, both were cooked perfectly. Our waiter was incredibly nice and attentive. Thanks for a great experience!
Visited this place with high expectations and I was not disappointed. The ambiance is unlike any other. Everything about this establishment is incredibly unique. There's an open kitchen, attentive servers, and great food. There's no doubt you will have a high quality experience. The price is slightly steep, but I would have to say it's worth it, because although the menu is short, it is certainly not limited. There are few places in this town that that will serve you Shrimp & Grits and Curry Chicken in the same instance. Overall, wonderful!
I visited this restaurant while on a work trip after hearing great recommendations. My coworker and I made a reservation, though it didn’t seem entirely necessary. The atmosphere was fantastic—dim lighting and an industrial feel made it perfect for a date night or entertaining clients. Service was a bit slow due to how busy they were, but our server more than made up for it. She was incredibly personable and made the experience enjoyable. As for the food, we started with the goat cheese croquettes, which were absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, my entrée—the roasted chicken—was disappointing. It was dry and just had an odd flavor, almost overly salty so I ended up not eating much of it, which felt like a big waste considering the price. However, the meal ended on a high note with a fantastic crème brûlée, just as delicious as our server described. Overall, I’d definitely return but would opt for a different entrée next time. Also to note from what I understand the menu does change weekly since it’s a scratch kitchen.
My wife and I went to West Table for our anniversary and the atmosphere and restaurant were great. Seated right away but then the wait began, we waited almost 10 min for the waiter to greet us and then quickly dismissed himself before we could even order drinks. He was gone another 10-15min when we returned we quickly ordered the Bone Marrow app and a couple drinks from the bar. After another 10min we finally got drinks and then we ordered our entrees. The food was great and the drinks were excellent. Honestly the food is what saved the night. We will returned for the food but hope we get better service. With all the waiting we did our dinner lasted almost 2 hours.
Travel the country for work, was turned away for their 'Reservations' but turned to their Brewhouse area with limited menu. Make it a hobby to make it to the best places of any city. And leave a word here on Maps. The LBK Brewhouse, which shares their kitchen, their burgers are made with the steak trimmings from West Table. May visit on another day. Give this place the proper oppourtunity for me to review.
Not as good as it used to be. Did they change the chef, I reckon? First, avoid their beef at all costs. 50 bucks for this (shown in fig 1)? Full of chips with dry brisket. As far as the meat-to-chips ratio… it is insane. Furthermore, I ordered medium well, but the brisket is dry and super salty with an overcooked coat. It could burn my taste buds. Other than that, the lamp is used to be very crispy at the rim with a juicy inside. The waiting time when I was there drives me crazy, 20 mins at a minimum. I could tell the seats are quite empty. However, the server is well-trained and cool. The cocktail is decent. Not worth spending 100 bucks here anymore as far as I am concerned with their food.
No wait, service was good. She did what she could to take care of us. The menu is extremely limited. The entrees dont seem to come with sides except mayde some french fries. And the entree that does come with fries is almost $60. We had to send our food back cause it was under cooked. It's a scratch kitchen so we ended up being there for almost 3 hours. Luckily we were not in a rush. Overall, super overrated. No intentions on returning.
Great atmosphere but disappointing in the food and pricing. We ordered 2 drinks which were each $15. I thought when we order the margarita it would have been in the big glasses but when we saw these small glasses we were disappointed. Also the food was okay definitely not worth tab of $88 My husband got the beef tenderloin and he said it was great but personally think it was overpriced. It was $52. Came here because we saw restaurant offers bone marrow but disappointed again when we didn’t see it listed.
