I'll preface by saying the place is great. The food is delicious and the staff is welcoming (it's also relatively cheap, which helps). The restaurant itself feels authentic and cozy with small details peppered around the shelves and walls. Might be the best italian I've been too outside the actual country. I highly reccomend it.
Wonderful little Italian restaurant I stumbled on. Menu del día for 15 had many interesting choices for all three courses. All that I ate was delicious. My dessert was possibly the best baked cheesecake I've ever had. And the montepulciano wine was also delicious. Very good service, nice atmosphere. If I'm back in Madrid, I'll be going again.
Very nice Italian restaurant. Pizza with jerky was very good. Minor improvement: Less cheese in the middle that the base gets more crispy there. And the menu card had less on offer than what is here on the photos. The olives served as entree were outstanding!
Oliveto was good, I gave it 5 stars because I don’t want to bring down a good independent business’ rating, but I don’t believe we will be rushing back. Service was good—expedient but knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are mostly pretty fair. I guess the overarching sentiment is that the most flavorful item we had was the “carpaccio” and I put that in quotes because it is actually cured meat, I am guessing bresaola. It had shavings of a good quality parmigiano reggiano, delicious olive oil and cherry tomato halves. The eggplant parm was fine but needed more spark and was overpriced for what it was. Carbonara was ok, the bacon had the flavor of bacon that has been fried and then sat out for a while, a bit stale. Stuffed pasta with spinach was fine, just a bit bland. Tiramisu was okay, nothing to rave about. It’s a cozy atmosphere, but it just didn’t feel like a 100 euro meal.
Superb Italian restaurant. Small menu. We had all the starters. The Jamon was fab, as were the 2 burrata dishes. We had pasta. Carbonara was creamy and eggy and yummy. The Gorgonzola and pear parcels were all truffly and sweet. The ragu on flat pasta (I forget) was fennelly, the ravioli was lighter and more subtle. In all of the dishes the actual taste of the pasta still came through. I liked that the menu was small as well. The chef is making good decisions. We didn’t try any pizzas. The tiramisu was also excellent. And then we have a Donnafugata white and a Primitivo red. Both excellent. And only 20-25EU. Food was also not expensive. Nice waiting staff. Always booked up - unsurprisingly- so don’t expect to walk in and get a table. (Sorry - forgot to take photos of most things before we ate them!!)
Food was excellent. Waitresses were very cordial and did a great job. We had the Burrata w mortadella and greens for appetizers, Fagottini with Gorgonzola, and the Pappardelle with ham and porcini mushrooms. The food was superb!
What a fantastic time we had. The best food I have ever eaten, the desserts were so good we decided to go for a round 2 and try a second dish. Considering the amount of food we ordered it was one of the cheapest meals we had during our visit to Spain. The staff were so lovely and kind to us. It such a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Extra love to Nico the manager and to the waitress and chef who's names we sadly did not get. I will never forget this dining experience and to the all the staff lots of love. Love from Rowan and Paige from Scotland! 🏴♥️🇪🇸🇮🇹
We weren't able to make a reservation, but they squeezed us in. Small restaurant probably frequented by locals only. The food was excellent. The mussels were a tad bit salty but nonetheless excellent and delicious. The pizza was good, and so was the pasta. When the bill came, it was about 50 euros, which was surprisingly low for 2 people considering the quality of food and service. Really recommend this spot. Not your average tourist trap.
There are lots of Italian restaurants, but the food at this one is spectacular. I felt like I was back in Italy. The pappardelle del chef was amazing. The pistachio coulant original and yummy. Excellent service. It's a small place, so probably good to reserve ahead of time. It came to €28 per person (including wine).
Holy moly! What a find in the beautiful city of Madrid. Everything about this wonderful establishment was great the minute we walked in the door. Great service and was accommodating to our lack of Spanish speaking. You cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu. Amazing atmosphere and great Italian food. Enjoy!
10 out of 10. Small, attractive and authentic trattoria. Everything on the weekday set menu sounded attractive and there was loads of choice: a veggie first course followed by a pasta dish and dessert. Everything was great including the sangiovese house wine. Excellent value, friendly Italian owners and staff.... We have just been again for lunch in September and it was again excellent. ! have added some photos of the food....Just been back for lunch in July '22. Everything delicious as always....
Very cozy place with great food. The personal is very kind (one of them even remembered my friend was vegetarian and brought us some vegetarian starters. They also changed my order to a vegan-friendly one with any problem. Also, I love to see an Italian restaurant managed by Italians. In addition, the food isn't even expensive (around 10€ per pizza).I recommend this place 100%! Really great experience.
The food is very delicious, everything we got was fantastic. It is a pity that the restaurant has two dinner sitting shifts at 8:30 and 10, and they rush you to leave sooner if you are on the first shift.
No idea how this has so many good reviews. - We can’t choose single dishes. Only full course with starters. - There is no coffee AND dessert. There is only coffee OR dessert. - We got no bread. - My pasta was only warm… - … and it had different kinds of pasta inside. - Tiramisu was no longer available before 15:00. - Portions were too small. - Tables close and tight to each other. + Food was good but not that good + nothing else?
