Sharing an honest review. Service is top tier and the atmosphere is really nice. The food I’m mixed on. Absolutely loved the Fried grilled cheese that came with a delicious Tomato aioli! However my nachos were cold and I was not a fan of that.
This establishment is awesome. I sat at the bar and had top notch service. With the ambient lighting, I had a little trouble seeing the menu. No worries, the very attentive bartender slid me one pair of the several pairs of reading glasses he keeps behind the bar. Really cool. It's a high end restaurant without the high prices. They also have like 100 beers on tap, unfortunately I was unable to try them all.
I live this place, the Walleye is an absolute must. Best fish sandwich I've ever had. The host Jack was one the best and most professional hosts I've ever encountered. My husband got the The Big Chimi and it was divine, but it makes me wonder what they do with the changas🤔
Picture isn't great quality because it was dark :( 2nd time to this location, I usually go to the niagara falls griffon. I tried the banh mi nachos, after asking if the appetizer portion would be enough for one person. I should have asked if it was possible for one person to finish them! The wontons are actually perfect as nachos, they never seemed to get soggy. There was a spicy sauce (seemed like a spicy mayo)that complimented the chips well, and the pulled pork topping was very flavorful. It tasted like it was smoked. I've been to the falls location quite a few times, and I almost hate to admit it, but this was my favorite thing I've had from any griffon. Kept very well too, I managed to go 2 days before finishing them. Still wasn't soggy! Awesome.
The Mongia was amazing. Get the sweet potato fries and a side dish. They are to die for. The portions were just right. You get what you pay for here. Allison was the best. I haven't had anyone better in years as a server. Everyone at our table was very happy. We will be back.
Excellent food! I loved the food. It was made to perfection. The beef was cooked as requested and served warm. The mashed potatoes were as good as other places should have been. (Seriously how hard is it to mash potatoes?) The service is what I expected to be for a restaurant of this caliber and target audience.
Took my girlfriend on a date here, we don't drink but we love to try new places. We started with the duck wings and fried grilled cheese and it was amazing. I had the turkey burger and she had the pot roast sandwich and we both loved our food. Our waitress was very nice, we will be back for more amazing food
Isabella, our server, was exceptional! We had a great night.
I find that it's consistent, which is why we go back--we know what we're getting. Most recently my husband and I went there on a Friday evening and had later (8pm-ish) dinner outside. The server is what blew us away, and I wish I could remember her name! The conversation was fun, and she gave great recommendations for food and drinks. I never would have ventured out from what I typically get, so it was great to discuss other options and try some new things. While I enjoy your menu, please bring back the French onion dip or add on some French onion soup. Thank you!
Came to East Aurora to visit Vidler’s and decided to grab something to eat. We came across The Griffon Gastropub and we are so glad we did! Our waitress was Jordan and she was so attentive, informative, and kind. My husband ordered an IPA and she described it perfectly before he took a sip. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We definitely will be back! Thank you, Jordan, for a great experience!!
Wow! What a great find. We stopped in after a hockey tournament this weekend and we were blown away with the fantastic food - this isn’t your average pub - you can tell it’s all the meals are carefully and thoughtfully made. Such great flavours, we all had to taste each other’s meals. Delicious! Think our group of 9 all cleared our plates. Shelby was a great server! We’ll be back next time we’re in town for sure!
This is one of the only restaurants in Erie county that, for me, has had consistently fantastic and attentive service, nice atmosphere, and amazing food and drinks, all at a fair price. Hear me out - I know this is a nicer restaurant, but their chicken fingers are the best chicken fingers I've had in my entire life, and I grew up 2 hours out of Nashville. They're that good. I get them every time I come and convince everyone with me to get them and they're always pleased. Their drinks are really well priced - they offered me free samples of 2 different ciders I was between, and I got 2 10oz glasses for $8. Not $8 each - $4 each! Anyways, I totally recommend this fantastic restaurant and love the area!
It was our first time here and everything was great, our waitress Dani made it such a fun experience and we will definitely be coming back! Mexican street corn dip was the best!
This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Very much worth any wait time. The food is excellent, made of wuality ingredients where much of it is clearly fresh. The menu is quite expansive, with options for all types of palates. I've yet to order something I've disliked. Service has always been incredibly personable and attentive, from the hosts to the servers. Questions are answered promptly and accurately, specials are detailed and explained, and any additions are taken without issue. Add to that that the decor is rustic and homey (and usually sprinkled with festive additions), and it makes a wonderful location to enjoy a meal.
This was our second visit. On both visits, they accommodated a large (10+) group of us. Great staff! There is a bar area and a restaurant area. The food is stellar. I love the sweet potato fries. Our group had no complaints about the food - in fact rave reviews from 13 + year olds all the way up to adults. It's a lick your plate clean good. The variety of food and flavors is amazing. It's a must stop when we are in the area.
Went as part of a large group. The beer menu is huge but well executed. I stuck with the ciders, which were delicious, and had a PB&J burger for dinner. Everybody was very happy with their food & the service was excellent, even with a dozen or so boys at the table. Would visit again.
We met some friends for dinner while we were in town. They suggested The Griffon, and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, the service was terrific, and beer was cold. What more could you ask for?
We make a trip to ellicottville every year and always stop in east aurora for viddlers and griffon gastropub! The food is always amazing, staff is attentive and nice! We came this year during their drink menu turnover, but on previous visits the fun drinks have been a key factor in our return!
When I looked at the menu online I didn't think it was going to be much more than high-end pub grub and burgers but I was mistaken. The salmon was off-the-charts good. Pair it with a nice pale ale. Maybe do a couple shots. Whatever the spirit moves you to do. Just be sure to check it out.
Had dinner July 4th- glad they were open! Food and service were great. So glad the baked fish wasn’t overcooked the way it is most places. Noisy inside but we were able to eat outside.
Great food, great vibe, love coming here. Get the pizza logs as an app!
Great food, great atmosphere and top notch customer service, a little dark where we sat but hey we used the flashlight on our phones hahaha!! A big shout out to our server Paige. Paige was extremely friendly , very courteous , made some good suggestions for food options ( tater tots which she explained are coming off the menu) and was quick and always on the ball for re-fills!! We came from Toronto and will be back 10000%!!!! Paige deserves a raise!!!
We had an incredible experience here. The staff was so thoughtful and was focused on making the experience awesome for our two daughters. They even replayed a song for my daughter so she could dance some more. The food was also fantastic, and all around great experience and vibes.
The dining experience is very good here. The Griffon fits in well with the village of East Aurora, NY.
My wife and I had a great experience on Valentines Day here. The staff and the food was fantastic
If you haven’t been to this place, what are you doing. You need to go now!!! The food was to die for, service was amazing, and the restaurant it’s self has such a different vibe to it. Kind of like a old souphall. The food was delicious wait wasn’t too long and the prices are pretty decent. Overall a great establishment and would come again👍🏽 Ps: menu is scannable and I left a picture of it below 👇🏽
Stopped in with a couple friends. The atmosphere is great as it is with every location. The staff was friendly and prompt. Our food was served quickly and everything was delicious. I ordered the potstickers and my friends split the No Moo For You burger both were delicious. The tap list wasn't as good as I've come to expect for the Griffon but I was still able to find some good beers.
Griffon Gastropub is amazing! We went on Mother’s Day, and I completely screwed up the reservation. The hostess was still able to provide us a table, even with my screw up. The waitress was very knowledgeable, and nice. The food was tasty, hot, and a large portion! I’m vegan, so I was thankful they had a few vegan options on the menu. But the guests I was with ordered an array of meat meals and raved about them. Lastly, The ambience is so nice!
The Griffin Gastropub is a must try if you're in the East Aurora area. Not only do they have so many beers on tap (that are always changing!) but the food is delicious and beautifully plated. The salmon tasted fresh and the mango salsa on top added a nice kick. My boyfriend got the gouda Mac and cheese which was amazing, will be ordering that next time! We also got the goat cheese balls and those were to die for! Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Will definitely be going back.
Loved it, my daughter n I had a wonderful lunch, and a big shout out to Hula, our waitress was phenomenal, personable and knowledgeable, she is an awesome asset to your business. great job Hula. Incredible food black rice, roasted broccoli, yellowfin tuna salad w/cucumber wasabi sauce. kangaroo burger. Hellayummy. Definitely goin back. Awesome job Griffin Gastropub. Different wild game burgers every day. Yak, bison, ostrich, etc. well worth the price .oh yeah and my first moscato, had a flight of cider also. A+++++++
It was my first time in East Aurora, very nice town feel. We just wanted something light after a walk. We ate outside and it was so nice. We had Greek Salad , just enough serving if you have a small appetite, the lettuce tasted like hamburger cuz its smoke grill flavor. I personally like the Greek salad there’s a crunch in every bite and came in huge serving. I asked for a box it’s a lot! I had dinner and lunch the next day. We asked for chicken for our salad but it was actually good even without the chicken
Ordered takeout out today. Had a minor issue that management corrected. I'll be back to get more chicken tenders next week. Yum
Ok, here is the deal. Legit 5 star gastro pub...branded beer - excellent, actually have fine spirits flights, Scotch, whiskey, tequila, etc. did the bourbon flight...16.50. awesome. Steak tips with smoked Gouda Mac n cheese... yeah...it was that good. Desert? Yep...some peanut butter chocolate thingy that was insane. The best part? Mackenzie our person...hands down. Solid recommendations for us out of towners. So all you Bills fans staying in East Aurora...this is your spot. Tell Mackenzie I sent you...she has no idea who I am but it might get you a smile and nod. Enjoy
We really miss the Griffon on Transit. It had fabulous staff, great food, exciting beer, and good seating. Wish it would come back
Awesome gastropub. Employees were wonderful and put no rush on us for being out first time there. Got the Cajun fish and was excellent. Miami fries I thought could use some more seasoning. Tenders were good too. Haven't had any beers from Other Half brewery so had to get a couple of those to try. If/when we are back in the area would definitely go back.
Best Restaurant Experience Ever!!! Service was friendly and efficient. As a picky eater and someone with an allergy, it's tough to impress me, but this was a 10 out of 10. Half of the menu caters to those with gluten free needs and is delicious too. I almost thought I received the wrong bread because it didn't taste like other dry GF breads. I was so impressed I went 2 nights in a row.
Had lunch here with a pretty big group. Had a cocktail, the duck wings and beef on weck. The cocktails were good. The duck wings were delicious, sweet, spicy and crispy. They had sesame seeds on top. The beef on weck was good. The roll was hard but it came with au jus for dipping that made it perfect. Fries were good too. Service was good for how big the party was. Would go again.
Always delicious, upscale comfort food. I have been here several times and the food and service are wonderful. Most recent we were able to sit outdoors at one of the tables in the newly expanded outdoor seating area. I had the GF Vietnamese pulled pork sandwich on GF baguette with sweet potato fries. My significant other enjoyed the PB&J burger with regular fries. Both meals were hearty and had fresh, high end ingredients. I am delighted that they always offer many GF option here and the staff is knowledgeable enough to talk to you about it easily. The candied jalapeños on the Vietnamese pulled pork were a fresh twist on their take on a banh mi and added some sweet heat to this sandwich. Griffon also has some of the best sweet potato fries ever! They are always perfectly crisp and are coated in their signature honey butter. I was told the burger was cooked well and that the flavor combination was unexpected but awesome. We enjoyed an adult beverage from their extensive beer and wine list. Service was spectacular. I would say it was some of the best service I have had in a very long time. The gentleman who helped us was quick, attentive, helpful and very kind. Everyone was wearing masks and following protocols. There is a lot of indoor seating if you prefer or the weather isn’t cooperating. There were mobile plexiglass dividers at the bar to keep distance from other patrons.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner, and it was an outstanding idea!!! Our server Jared W. was just amazing!!! Very attentive and yet not too much, had answers when asked, and great upselling skills as well, we'll get back to those in a min. To start we got the Banh mi nachos and duck wings...wow were they good, no great!!! The duck was just right and so tender and the wonton chips made the nachos so much better!!! For the meal we had the PB&J burger which was so big I could only eat half, what I did finish was the side of smoked gouda shells and cheese that Jared upsold me...and i am so glad he did, it was the creamiest ive ever had. The wife got the Shrimp po boy which was also very very good. All around Griffon Gastro pub in East Aurora is a top notch establishment and we will be back again. Also very good Covid-19 precautions!!!
Great food, a bit pricey but worth the cost. Mahi Mahi with mango salsa was absolutely delicious, it was moist and tender and fell apart in your mouth. I would make a trip to East Aurora just to have this sandwich. Best I've had north of Florida! Nacho are also a good choice for an appetizer, not a fan of the pizza egg rolls, there are better ones at the Chinese food restaurants. It is a bit dark in the restaurant, I saw and heard complaints about needing to use a phones flashlight to read the menu. Overall great food and place to eat.
Food is excellent. TONS of gluten free options available on the menu - the most I have seen!
Great service. We came in early for our reservation but the staff was very accommodating. Food was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Three of us stopped for a late lunch on 11/1 and I'm so glad we did! It was actually our 2nd choice, because The first place we went to was packed. So glad that was the case though, because this place was fantastic! I had the beef on weck, my husband had the steak tips and pasta, and our friend had poutine. And our server was great, despite her having her one arm in a sling. Poor girl, I felt so bad for her, but she did a fantastic job!! Will definitely stop again if we're in the area.
Griffon Gastropub was the perfect spot for our larger group! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and everything came out quickly despite our size. My personal favorites were definitely the cocktails and appetizers. They were creative, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The entrées were also very good with generous portions that left everyone happy. Great atmosphere, great food, and a great place to go with friends or family!
We stopped here during a roadtrip on a Wednesday evening, there was plenty of availability despite a steady flow of customers. The menu is extensive and has several allergens/dietary preferences marked clearly on the menu. They have many dishes that can be made gluten free including GF buns. The server we had, Paige, was extremely friendly and observant as well as funny and very attentive. The food came out quickly and was well done and tasty. They offer beer samples and have wine, ciders and other options, they have something for everyone. The atmosphere was fun and comfortable with plenty of natural light. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
First time here for date night and everything was delicious, and our server was so nice. I got the chicken caprese which the chicken was so tender and the basil pesto/balsamic dressing was so flavorful. My husband got the wild game burger and the meat of the day was duck which was yummy and unique. We loved the the french fries as well. Drinks were good. Overall would definitely go back.
We both loved our meals and drinks! She had the GF Mac and smoked gouda cheese with chicken and asparagus while I stepped out of my comfort zone and had the P,B &J burger. The service was great and restaurant just clean enough to keep the 5 stars. Our 2nd visit was just as good as the first. She enjoyed the Salman.
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! Was visiting the area for a weekend and the food was so good, I had to eat there a 2nd time before heading for home (Pittsburgh). Chicken and waffles sandwich with a side of mac & cheese was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. Staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Buffalo area.
Very friend staff, clean establishment, and great food. I had a wonderful experience. I got the Wild Game Burger. The game of the day was Ostrich and it was the BEST burger I've ever had! Very tender and flavorful. There is a parking lot, so no hassle of having to search for parking 😊
Good food, service was a little.iffy but it was busy.
Been to 2 of thier locations. The food is delicious and fresh. The flavor combinations are innovative, and the menu has a great selection. A little more pricier than just bar food, but still very good.
Nice time food for me was great. Got the mac and cheese. Portion was small for the price. But it was good. Others got the chicken tenders. They were a little overcooked. Kind of disappointed. Our waitress was great . Overall a nice time
Ordered mangia steak open face sandwich for the 1st time it came and the steak was very hard to cut it was ice cold asked the waitress if it suppose To ice cold she said no she replaced it ...2 nd one it was still ice cold, not well done, still hard to cut and it had tomatos (i asked for no tomatos that is ok i took them off no big deal) on the 2nd one . The waitress did ask if i wanted something else. i said no, it is ok, but she did take off my bill .I just wouldn't order that again .It had a good taste although ..My hubby had the homemade chicken tenders. I thought they were a little tough little stringy and little too chewy. The sauces we tried were phenomenal..the french fries were excellent, great tasting .. I saw other food from neighbors' tables, and the burgers were huge. I will definitely be back, but I will try something different, maybe a burger . I loved the pot roast sandwich, but it has been discounted.
Everything good in this restaurant has soy in it! The chef did come out and talk with us—which was really nice of him. That said, my duck burger was terribly underwhelming. My daughter thought her soup and sandwich were great.
Service was great. Server was attentive and helpful. Atmosphere was nice. Smoked gouda shells & cheese entrée was phenomenal. Highly recommend! Filet medallions, however, were very dry & overcooked (ordered medium-rare, received steak that was medium-well/well done). The steak was highly disappointing.
I went here tonight after a few past attempts to get a table but met with wait times past an hour. My partner and I were able to get a table with no wait. Our server Matt was very friendly and polite. He was very helpful when I asked about a cocktail menu and gave us a dessert menu following our meal. The S’mores Martini was to die for! It was so good. Same with the fried grilled cheese bites, they were so favorable. My meal was the chicken caprese gluten free which was so good, probably the best pasta I’ve ever had. I have four stars because my partner’s griffin burger was way too salty, he still ate it but said it was just too much salt. All the food and drinks came out quickly with barely a 10 minute or less wait for them. Which was surprisingly considering it was 6pm on a Friday!
Good experience eating here. The staff was very friendly and happily answered questions and made adjustments to our meals as needed. I had the panko chicken sandwich and it was good but a bit salty. We also had the pizza logs which were different, interesting, and delicious though I wish I had let them cool down a bit before eating. I also enjoyed the root beer on draft. Overall glad we chose to eat there and. Sd passed through town.
I am editing my review, I will no longer order the Bahn Mi Nachos here if we ever come back. The meat was oily and disgusting and the chips seemed to be excessively oily as well. My wife got very sick a few hours later. We loved the gastropub, but it's going to be hard to go back now.
update* they took the bahn mi nachos and potato soup off the menu!! waitress said everyone is upset about it and she is hearing complaints non-stop. very stupid decision. they replaced it with some other nachos that were terrible and flavorless! we took one bite and nobody wanted anymore. they did add an app called fried grilled cheese which was really good though. ** one of my favorite local restaurants. the bahn mi nachos are something unique and great tasting, a HUGE serving... the corn fritters with maple butter dipping sauce are also unique and delicious. the maple butter is so creamy, silky, and sweet. my friend and i shared meals. the steak medallions over mashed potatoes with asparagus were great. the potatoes were thick and home made, the asparagus had a nice char on it. the burgers are big and flavorful. high quality....no pre-pressed packaged garbage. hand made and char grilled! the loaded potato soup is one of the best ive had. thick creamy soup with a great flavor, loaded with all kinds of goodness like scallions, bacon, and cheese...we try new restaurants all the time and this is one that is good enough to come back to which is something i can only say about a handful of places....(this little pig, the billy club, black iron bystro, toutant, )
In all fairness I need to say that I am extremely disappointed with my experience here. My wife and I have been to the location in Niagara falls and had a great dining experience. I remember my waffle in my chicken and waffles was a little dry, but everything was very tasty. When we looked at the menu at the East Aurora location, we were having trouble choosing what to order because everything looked so amazing. The selections are different from many restaurants we've been to, and we were excited to try a few different things. The calamari was really good, but that's where it all ended. My wife ordered the crunchy fish fry, which is the main reason we traveled to East Aurora on a wintery day. She had been talking about it for a couple of weeks and was really looking forward to it. However, it was overdone and burnt. I ordered steak tips that sounded absolutely amazing on the menu, but my first bite into a piece of meat was an instant no thank you. The meat was cooked in a way that made it have a liver taste. That happens when beef is cooked in a crowded pan and steams, or if the meat is high in iron or possibly from an older cow. The waitress hadn't even stepped away from the table and I told her to take the plate away because it was awful. She apologized, and you can tell felt bad, then asked if I would like something else. So I said I'll look at the menu again and let her know. It took a little longer for her to return to order what I wanted, but I decided on the wild game Burger. I asked for it to be medium with pink in the middle. I knew that some of the proteins in the burger could dry out fast because they were leaner. The burger that I got was overcooked and very dry. I ate about a quarter of the burger. I unfortunately had to tell the waitress that it was not good and that I wouldn't be eating that. She again apologized and asked if I would like something else, which at that point I was not interested and waiting any longer for something else. So she said that she would talk to a manager. She came back and said that the manager would discount the bill and take off my original steak tips. I would expect they be taken off because I didn't eat them to begin with. I also told her that I wouldn't be eating the burger. She came back after talking to the manager and said that they would take 15% off the bill and reiterated that they took the steak tips off. As if to say that was something they shouldn't be doing. So my bill comes and they took 15% off of a $27 burger. She told me that the restaurant manager had left for the evening and I asked to speak with whoever was the manager in charge. The bar manager came over and apologized and seemed very understanding and said that she would take off the drinks, which were I believe a glass of wine and maybe a beer or two. I also mentioned to her that my wife wasn't really complaining about her fish but I explained to her that it was burnt and she didn't really enjoy it. The bar manager asked if we would like maybe a dessert to take home, on her, to make up for a little of our inconvenience. The waitress came back with that receipt, which was over $70. I looked at her and said I'm not even eating the burger. She asked if I wanted to take it home I said no I won't eat it. When I said that I was not feeling that they were really resolving this well, she mentioned that she took the drinks off and discounted the burger and fish fry while also giving us a free dessert. I told her I didn't even care about the dessert that that was something that the bar manager offered. I told her to take the dessert back if it makes a difference. She then assured me that this would be passed off to the general manager and I would have somebody follow up with me within the next couple of days. It is now 3 weeks later and I have heard from no one. I even explained to her that we drove from Amherst area to East Aurora just for their fish fry and were disappointed with a majority of all that we ordered. I was really hoping I didn't have to write this review.
Some of the most chewy filet medallions I've ever had... I'd say they were sirloin tips over filet ones. Corn fritters were raw inside and crab rangoons were super chewy. For how amazing we were told the place was... I hope it was just an off night.
I was very excited to be here as it was my first time. The place was elegant and nicely decorated, but then they had dead plants as decor right where you walked in, and that made me feel kind of sad for them. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees as well as desserts, and I have to say their food is on the spicey side. The lobster curry soup had a great flavor, but I felt it was over powered with heat and wish I saw that when I ordered it, but then ate some corn fritters and those absolutely stole the show! The best corn fritters I've ever had! Absolutely delicious. I then ordered their signature mac with some steak, and it is smoked gouda, so you have to be a gouda fan. I enjoyed that. We also ordered the crab appetizer and did enjoy it as well, but it seemed as though again there was some spice that was added to it that was giving some heat, so it took away from the savoryness of the dish. The chocolate cake was pretty good as well. If you like heat to your food, you will absolutely love it, but it was kind of unexpected for Mac. I can totally understand the curry, but I wished the menu mentioned the curry was spicy. Our server and service, though, was impeccable, and I absolutely felt very cared for and taken care of and treated wonderfully. She was amazing! The only other reason for the 3 starts when it comes to the atmosphere besides the dead plants was the floor was extremely slippery. It was a very strange coating of some sort that I totally don't get, even in the bathroom. The place is clean and tidy with great centerpieces, but older people better watch it because they could fall, so I would consider maybe a liner to make sure that floor texture is more secure. I'd go back again and try new things because of the service, and perhaps it was an off day, but now this place has huge potential.
the service was amazing and quick. very friendly server and staff. however my boyfriend and i ended up with terrible food poisoning from our visit. we got sick after a few hours of leaving and have been for the past 2 days.
I'm so used to having A+of everything at Griffon Gastropub however last Wednesday the food was not ok...and it was a birthday celebration dinner and everyone said there food was just ok and nothing like it usually is. And the "pillows of love" dessert they gave were terrible!! Usually they're very very good. They were small and hard. And the grilled salad was shriveled and the chicken was lukewarm. Idk what happened that night but we've had all those dishes before and Wednesday night the dishes were not they're usually good. sorry to say
This was my first time visiting the pub on my way to the Bills game. I’m incredibly disappointed because the menu options made me think the food would be phenomenal. I spent $32ish on the filet medallions that were extremely poor quality. I couldn’t run a knife through the steak let alone chew it. There were no seasonings or flavor to the steak, asparagus or the mashed potatoes (that also had a really strange, gritty texture to them.) Not to be greedy, but I also thought the portion size was pretty small compared to the price I was paying. I really wish I had ordered something else instead. The service was great though. I ordered from the bar and the bartender was very friendly. She suggested and made me a lovely seasonal Moscow mule. The atmosphere of the pub/restaurant was eclectic and inviting. Overall I would give it another chance but I highly suggest not to order the filet.
My burger was the worst I've ever had. The bun was dry and almost stale, the burger over cooked, smelled and tasted funny. Like it was grilled with wild game. $22 for meh fries and a horrible burger. My husband like the steak sandwich, but still pricey.
Good looked amazing. I’ll give them that much. Our appetizer is really what saved our meal. The fried “grilled” cheese was amazing. Delicious and came out fast and hot. I got the beef on weck, I took a bite almost as soon as it got there and the meat in the sandwich was freezing cold. Ended up taking some of the meat out so it wasn’t so cold. My partner on the other hand had a double order of boneless wings, he tasted them and so did I and it was so over cooked it was barely edible. I’m typically not one to write reviews but this one I had to, especially for the price we paid for food we barely ate because of issues with the food. It was crazy. I should have said something at the restaurant but luckily for them I don’t like to start issues. Our server was amazing though.
The chickn fingers i got were discusting!!!! Hard !!!! Tasted like shit. The ranch dressing also was verry shitty. What a joke!!! Payed 80$$ for nasty foood. Never ever going ther agin. Horrable place dont waste ur hard earned money ther!!!!
We went to celebrate our son's birthday tonight. We have been here multiple times before and had zero issues. Not sure what was going on over half hr to get our appetizer and over an hour for food. Unfortunately we had prior commitments and we had to ask for to go boxes immediately. Food was meteocore. Not sure we will be back. Waitress was friendly and apologetic. But the wait and food have deterred from us returning. For the price of the food it wasn't worth it nor was the food good this time.
We went there this past Friday night, August 8, for dinner and have been several times before. We sat in a booth by the window and as soon as we sat down we had 2 flies buzzing us. We ordered our meal hoping they would go away but it only got worse and we noticed that there were about 6 flies buzzing around near the adjacent booths. We told the waitress and we boxed up our food after not really eating anything and went home and threw our food away after wondering if they had flies in the kitchen where the food is being prepared. Disgusting for a decent restaurant or any restaurant. The waitress was understanding and said they spray at night but this obviously does not solve the problem and we did have flies land on one of our food plates. I will be contacting the Erie County Health Department to notify them of this issue for what used to be one of our favorite restaurants but do not plan on going back any time soon.
Went to the bar, had the worst service. Bartender had a negative attitude. Very short and non personable. Wait staff looked miserable. A lot of beer selections, but very poor service. Won't be back.
11/19/17: So, we’ve already been to the transit location and had a really weird experience with bad food on top of that. A lot of people said we should give it another shot because of their experiences. We went to east aurora and tried this location. Got there, and were seated promptly. Our waitress was nice and took our beer order. We ordered 2 different flights. Our waitress came back with 2 flights that were in no particular order so we couldn’t recognize which beer belonged to who. This was not the waitress’s fault, but the bartender should know enough not to mix up people flights. No brainer there. Ok, that’s weird but move on. Noticed my side plate still had dried food on it. Put that to the side. It was taken away but I was not brought a clean replacement. Not the worst thing in the world but also weird. Got our appetizer and didn’t come with ketchup. Mind you we had chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fries and onion rings...stuff that ketchup would have been really good for. Mind you, we were dining in and the 3 condiments that did come were in pre-portioned plastic cups with the lids on them. The BBQ sauce was pretty much a drop. I stuck a fry in there and maybe 1 cm of the fry came out with BBQ sauce on it. Annoying but not the end of the world. Add that to the list. My entree arrived shortly after that. I ordered the tuna dinner. It was almost completely raw and was no warmer than room temperature. It was supposed to be served on a bed of rice. Problem with that was there was so much liquid (whatever the topping was) in the plate that it turned into rice soup. That was my last straw. I got up and went to the hostess station and asked if a manager was available. The response I received was “well...kinda. How can I help you?” I asked if she was the manager and she said she wasn’t. I once again asked for the manager and she finally got someone. I was then approached by Bob who was not the manager but the senior employee working. I explained all this to him and told him we were all set and just wanted to leave. The waitress was nice and apologized about the experience stating she was embarrassed by how the food came out. Thankfully they didn’t make us pay for anything considering the entire experience but 2 tries was enough. There are way too many great places in Buffalo to keep giving one restaurant chances to change our minds.
If you want to wait for a drink, while watching 3 staff do nothing at the end of the bar but talk about the weather, this is the place to go. Service was trash, drinks were mid to low at best. Leaving here to go else where in East Aurora to get something else to eat. Wouldn't come back if I was given a gift card.
Went last night for dinner and ordered the umami bomb with chicken instead of tofu. The wrap had 3 ingredients and missing most of what the menu listed. All I got was chicken with rice and carrots. No green onions, sliced cucumbers, pickled ginger, cilantro or umami sauce. Tried to eat the other half for lunch and just too plain and dry to even eat. Been here a bunch of times and never had this problem before. I guess I should have ripped it apart last night while I was there to see why it tasted so bland.
When a place smells as soon as you walk in, thats a bad sign. It smelled like they hadn’t cleaned the bar in years. They serve the wings in these tiny bowls, so they end up all piled on top of eat other. This causes the wings on the bottom to get steamed. It was like eating rubber. I think I got food poisoning. Avoid this place at all costs.
