One of the best seafood cocktails in Matamoros. The accompanying sauce is house-made, balanced, without too much ketchup, and available with or without onion or chili. Shrimp, oysters, campechanas, and more. Fast service, affordable prices, highly recommended.

Without a doubt, one of my best cocktail experiences. You can come and enjoy shrimp, ceviche, calamari, and oyster cocktails, either on their own or mixed together, and they're always fresh. The service is excellent and generally very efficient. Personally, I recommend the shrimp and calamari cocktail with a touch of buffalo sauce, which gives it an amazing flavor. If you have the chance to go, go; you won't regret it. As a fun fact, the staff knows sign language, so if you have family or friends who need to communicate that way, it's no problem.

A HIDDEN GEM!!! You'll know you've found it when you see the line of people waiting to get into the packed restaraunt! Cocteleria Jar is truely a diamond in the rough... it is tucked away in an unassuming part of town in the quieter part of a major "mercado". After hunting down some of Matamoros's best known "Coctelerias" (Seafood Cocktail Restaurant), Cocteleria Jar really takes the prize for not only being the best tasting Cocteleria but also the best priced and economical option matamoros has! Definately worth your going out of the way to make it out to this joint! How'd they keep this place a secret for so long?!?!
