Beautiful place, extremely traditional food, very good taste!. It's iconic because between 50's to 70's was one of the only coffee and bakery store in town, and a lot of important people in this city go there to take intelectual, business, political, and art conversations and debates. Even right now in some occasions you can find very known people. In my past visit, just 5 minutes after my arrival, come one of the presidential candidates for the next year.

We stopped here for a delicious cup of coffee and pastries. Service was great and pastries were excellent.

You DO have to track down a waitress to get a menu and to take your order. Don’t expect anyone to ask you how your meal is. Not sure if that’s just the way it is here in Colombia or this place specifically. It obviously doesn’t matter as they have a lot of clients regardless of the much noted lack of service and this seems to be going on for a long time. On one occasion, I did walk out as I waited 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged I was sitting there.

Pretty good cake, but not the best I have had. We had the Wedding Cake and the Sacher Torte. The little Besitos are well worth trying. I liked the Café con leche.

A really nice atmosphere to sit and have coffee. The place is iconic (you'll see pictures of some celebrities who've visited the place) , so it's not exactly average prices, but they've earned it. I usually get candy for my grandma here because it's simply one of a kind, you just don't get it around the corner. Recommended.

My rating is more based on something that we have heard in previous visits. In the past, we paid by the table when we requested the bill. For the last couple of years, we have been told to go to the cashier, give the table number and pay there. My question always has been, how many people leave without paying? I learned it was often. Today, my wife and I went there and learned that the server has to pay for half of the cost of the order when people leave without paying!!! Why are the servers having to pay anything for thieves who walk out without paying? That is outrageous. ASTOR should go back to the way it used to be and have the patrons pay at the table. Servers should not be penalized for others’ dishonesty.

I would much more recommend "milkshake" in Laureles, near la 70, for a good sundae.

Terrible service. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and never felt like I had to work to be acknowledged. Now it’s so unorganized and it may take a while before you even get a menu. Also, why on earth is it a rule to keep the restroom door open at all time? This place really lost its touch.
