Hotel Nia is the bomb diggy atmospherically • The restaurants outdoor patio has some seats that are made of big natural stones 🔛 pedestals 🪨 my absolute favorite snack was the mushroom 🍄‍🟫 nachos appetizer. I would’ve never expected combo o’ ingredients to come together to be this good 🎉 very #WellDone

I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. Beautiful decor, ambient lighting, and an overall vibe. It is located inside the beautiful Hotel Nia, one of my favorite Autograph Collection hotels by Marriott. The Wagyu burger was a great choice and I really really enjoyed the unique offering of garlic fries instead of the traditional or truffle option. This really was a standout of the meal. The burger was flavorful and cooked to my desired temperature. Tommy’s Margarita (not pictured) wasn’t as tasty as I expected but it was still a solid tequila choice. The best part of the drink was the dried pineapple slice. My waitress even brought me extra at my request which I appreciated. Overall 9/10 experience. My server was nice and attentive.

I was truly blown away with Porta Blu. Our server was a pro and led us to all the right places. I went with a salad made of dandelions which was a new one for me. I after hearing about the whole chicken I had no other choice but to go for it. Who knew Mariott's high end line could be so exquisite? Not me. Kaleb went for the vegetarian entrees and he seemed very pleased. The drinks are complex and hold their own. Definitely made for a the beginning of fun night. ** I review Good Places With Good People. My opinions are honest, I can't control how Google May Manipulate My Words. Had breakfast while staying here. The French toast, pancakes, and breakfast burrito were amazing!!

If I could give Porta Blu more STARS I would. We went for our 25 th Anniversary and they treated us like royalty. The NIA culture for taking pride in delivering caring service was evident as soon as we arrived. A blush of rose petals awaited us at our candle lit table with complimentary, sparkling champagne. The food was simply and artistically plated and full of delicious flavors. The asthetic was both welcoming and romantic. Lighting- warm, music- acoustic guitar. To top all this off, there were pieces of thought provoking and whimsical art everywhere! Tucked in surprising places. As an artist and enthusiast myself, this made our evening magic!!

I had my wedding brunch reception in their private dining room. It was perfect. I had nothing to do but pre-select the appetizers. We came in to sample some and settled on Baked Burrata and Dungeness Crab dip. It was a small affair of a dozen guests so the kitchen could handle the orders without limitations on the menu. All our guests enjoyed their dishes. With ample choices my guests were very pleased. Although we brought our own sparkling wine and wine, they have a wonderful selection. Even carry the sparkling wine we brought. Lovely spot with helpful staff. The decor was absolutely perfect back drop for the cake I made too.

Perfect for breakfast or dinner, Italian manager is just superb man. Attentive and genuine. Tuna, salads, steak, burger and sorbet were phenomenal.

Portan Blu just started offering brunch on the weekend! Get there now while you can and try the lemon pancakes! #todiefor

A happening place with the right atmosphere for a happy hour. The place seemed pretty full when we went. The beer selection and food items was good. Definitely worth a visit.

Loved the exotic shakshuka breakfast, and the lamb tagine was an amazing dinner. A giant lamb shank on the bone oh, it was delicious and tender and well-seasoned. Staff was very friendly and helpful each time. Excellent wines and local beers on the menu too.

This is inside the modern and contemporary hotel NIA, within the Facebook campus. Given it is less than a year old, the place was modern and clean. Coffee was awesome as they source it from the Verve right next door. Had the lemon pancakes which were fluffy but with a solid body. The food didn't scream Michelin star or anything but I can see plenty of business breakfasts or lunches taking place successfully. And reasonable prices as well. Will return!

Bathroom doors didn't work which was very unpleasant for my family. Front desk gave us late c.o and breakfast vouchers Maria I think is her name was quick to resolve the issue. Morning was much better

The Porta Blu, breakfast special had beautiful sourdough bread and the fingerling potatoes were purple, which was very unique. The servers work very hard and took good care of me. Please don’t complain about the 20% gratuity because it’s the least we could do for people that work so hard.

While staying at the Hotel Nia we were spoiled by some of the hotel's restaurant staff, most especially Cristian. Cristian also took the time to point out interesting details about the restaurant's design details that we'd likely have missed. Most appreciated! Even if you're not in the hotel, this is a lovely unexpected Oasis for stopping in for a coffee or meal, on you own, with friends or colleagues. The gardens are well cared for, diverse and full of nature. Ignacio was gracious when talking about the gardens, then later making quick adjustments in our room. Though like many places, the staff are fairly new, they are clearly putting together a great team! You won't even notice your proximity to the freeway.

Porta Blu is the restaurant associated with Hotel Nia Autograph Collection. I was particularly impressed with the service at the bar. Drinks that stood out to me was the Tropical Margarita that had a nice kick to it. I also enjoyed the Tommy Margarita. The bartender, Carolina, was amazing to talk to. I definitely recommend a visit to the bar if you visit Hotel Nia Autograph Collection or Porta Blu. I also enjoyed the restaurant part. The burger and ham omelette were both enjoyable

Beautiful restaurant inside Hotel NIA. Aside from top-notch service (we felt like royalty...!), the best part of this restaurant is its atmosphere. There is a wide variety of spaces, seating, and vistas available for dining. The semi-outdoor dining area facing the inner courtyard is one of the nicest in the bay, especially on a warm summer day. The indoor spaces are cozy and luxurious. We were pleasantly surprised by the food too. Came in expecting an overpriced hotel dinner but this place is worthy of standing on its own as a restaurant. Good portions and seasonal offerings. It turned out to be a good place to bring our young kids too. There was plenty of space in the restaurant, so we could enjoy a fine meal without feeling self-conscious about our children being disruptive. There were kids menus too; kids pasta was a huge hit. Tips: Parking isn't ideal here. $30 for hotel valet and no hotel self parking is available. Second, there's few veggies on the main dishes so I'd recommend getting a salad on the side.

Early Valentines Dinner - really nice outdoor eating area and beautiful indoor dining room - service was top notch- they offered a prefixe Valentines Day dinner of 4 courses- we started with a couple of oysters with a cava mignonette- delish! We could have had a dozen of the oysters! In addition to the vodka martinis that we had (with blue cheese stuffed olive option), the nice bar manager poured a complementary glass of sparking Lambrusco, which went well with the oysters and the Beet carpaccio with burrata and herb salad. My husband ordered seared duck breast for his entree and I ordered the flower crusted NY strip steak - both were good, but a bit unevenly cooked - I wanted medium rare and the steak was closer to medium on one end, but medium rare on the other end. We ended the meal with a lovely chocolate opera cake. The setting is great, service wonderful - we would come back!

Interesting drinks at the bar. Fun flavor combinations. Not a large menu though, but still good. A few gluten free options.

Delicious food, swanky feel, kind staff, a little pricey, free valet parking up to 3 hours

Great drinks and amazing ambience. A bit on the expensive side but then it is a fancy boutique hotel.

The avocado toast is definitely the highlight of this menu.

The hotel is located amongst lots of construction, it's an oasis of calm and luxury. Nice ambiance, great service, and good food (though I was not impressed with the tuna tartare).

R

Great, ambiance, excellent food. The service is NOT paired with the caliber of the restaurant. We order 2 appetizers and one entree to share between the two of us. And they were almost going to give us all of the plates at the same time. Thank You.

Great restaurant inside a glorious hotel. I had a selection of various entrees and was really pleased (recommend: artichoke arancini, Spanish meatballs, green peppers) and a Wagyu burger with fries on the side. My bourbon based cocktail with pear puree was good but wouldn’t fall over my back. Polite and helpful (albeit a touch animated) staff.

K

Fresh, well prepared food. Nice and quiet areas to sit. Friendly service staff. Seating a little uncomfortable for me. Found that they looked better than they were to actually sit and eat a meal in. Good selection of starters and main courses. If you're starting in the Nia Hotel it is super convenient, especially as you are a car ride away from anywhere else

D
David Vibat

Food was good just a bit pricy given the simple dishes we ordered. The ambiance was warm and inviting but the number of people in our party wasn't allowed to sit together given the capacity they were allowed to have. With this said we will definitely give it another try once they're able to allow bigger parties to get together.

Had a team dinner here and the options were a bit underwhelming. The pizza was not good, the salmon was fine and the salad was ok but pricey. Tiramisu dessert was actually pretty good. Ambience is nice and we stayed for drinks after. Maybe not coming again for the food though!

HAS POTENTIAL BUT NEEDS WORK - and we left hungry. Food was uneven. Corn soup special was excellent. Chicken Kabob well cooked but small. Server failed to mention that the Ahi special was an appetizers - so I ordered it as my entrée. Bread could be good but was dry. Not stale, just dry. The restaurant itself is a really nice space and opens onto the outdoors. Soup and salad were good portions. Seems like the chef can definitely cook, but they need to enhance the menu and sort out the portions. The ingredients they work with seemed to be very good quality. Has potential to be 4 or 5, but for now a 3.

The place is nice but the food is not worth the price, we order the burguer and the octopus but is below average, the cocktails are good

S

Steak was tough, and portion was too massive for any one person to consume in a single sitting. And french fries? Don't offer me french fries at a place like this. Come up with more interesting sides.

R

Lemon drink from the bar tasted like sprite. Food took way too long to arrive. Steak ordered medium, received well done. Brocollini was charred and the black stuff was all over the plate. Underwhelming.

Meh. The hotel lobby is attractively designed and clean. Smells of money, but not overly so. The outdoor area is whimsical, and one wonders for how long the astroturf and knick knack tables will stand up to the weather and look cute. It's perfect for a party event right now, but permanent? I don't know. The bar straddles the lobby and the cuteness. Attractive but not quite comfortable chairs await you in what feels a bit like a Hawaiian island bar that took a left turn at Albuquerque. The signature cocktails did not bowl me over, but fit the currents of the times, with lots of flowery language about their provenance. Maybe it's just my desire to see a return to quality basic cocktails. Service was quite spotty on the day I was there, something one always tends to get in a restaurant that's part of a hotel, even a business-swanky one like this.

S
Sean McBride

Food was subpar for the price. The whisky and wine options are very limited. The service was ok, although there was no one in the restaurant and it seemed like we still had to wait for our service. We went for my wife’s birthday, and they took care of the dessert (including ice cream for my daughter), so that was great.

C
Chloe Murray

Food all came out cold, seemed pre-made and barely even reheated (we had two of the flatbreads, the garlic fries, & the charcuterie board). Cocktails were fine, but nothing to write home about, incredibly expensive. We were there from 5-7 and it was basically empty which made for a very weird vibe. Would not recommend this place.

Don't go here when it's busy lol. I've been here many times where it worked but this visit was disappointing. Servers were overwhelmed and confused and all orders took super long to receive while the manager was more concerned with keeping our party waiting at the door than managing the flow of operations. Again, I've been here when it works and was surprised they were unable to manage the busy night. Foods pretty good though and the setting is nice.

Service and atmosphere are great. Staff are incredibly friendly. Food? The menu is interesting but, I can’t stress this enough, someone please help the kitchen find the salt. Cassava chicken bites? Basically unsalted. Fries with the burger? Same deal. The kitchen needs to salt fried food when it comes out of the fryer so that the salt adheres to the food and seasons it adequately. If I’m paying $27 for a burger and fries; you better salt the dang fries properly. Also some mayo on the burger beyond just the dab of ketchup wouldn’t go astray.

Beautiful restaurant, but I asked to change my seat twice (very uncomfortable), nobody did anything. Also ordered a steak , the knife was super old , and the drinks were just regular.

I attended a work dinner here. Generally, good and not great. Unfortunately, the chicken dish served to me was quite raw in the middle. I have concerns for a kitchen staff and management who let this happen. Pretty basic expectation to ensure the food is cooked to the right temperature. Serious health consequences result when not getting this basic guidance right. They offered a replacement but I lost my appetite at that point. Additionally, we were then charged for the uncooked dish in the final bill. Again, a management miss. Others at the dinner had an acceptable eating experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Disappointed by the coffee. It was supposed to be Verve but I get this super hot cappuccino- no latte art

In the end of the day, it’s always the food, service comes a close second. Sadly it’s a fail on both counts PRO: - Convenience of restaurant attached to Hotel Nia - Free coffee until 9AM in front of the restaurant on weekdays CON: - Food isn’t very good and expensive - You will be treated like rudely if you opt OUT of the 20% automatic tip. - Check your order, they make a lot of mistakes - Fish was severely over cooked - Food is too sweet - Gave me a burnt bagel? I’m know they saw it but did nothing to change it SUMMARY: I ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I wouldn’t do it again, even if staying at Hotel Nia and definitely would not seek out to come here. Food is meh, service also as no one acknowledges you when you come in. Too bad, I like the concept

It’s pretty below average taste to be honest. I stayed at Nia for 4 days due to it being close to campus. With that being said it’s near nothing but just that for food. I came in on a Sunday so nothing on campus was open. I walked over a mile to get to the nearest gas station for snacks and drinks for the days since there is nothing here. The first day I got in I had lunch here and it was sooo good, a club sandwich and fries. While everyone ordered a Caesar salad. The rest of the menu I cannot speak for. I was eager to come back for dinner and get pasta that night. I had pasta last time I was here and it was horrible (stroganoff?). No longer on the menu. I ordered the black squid ink pasta to my room and somehow it came out to $54? With only that and an iced tea… but that tasted bland even with everything they give you to spice it up- parmesan, salt & pepper, and red pepper flakes. I still at this point have 3 more days left. I’ve tried various things: flatbread (it was decent), steak frites (dry, not cooked well, and hard crust to chew through) and it was all just not good, I didn’t want to try again. I’ve heard raves about this place but I think it must just be to eat a salad and get drinks because as I witness that’s all people order. It’s a really nice environment, I wish for the sake that you have nothing else nearby unless you DoorDash or Uber everywhere. That the food would meet up to the expectations of the rest of the experience. Moral of the story, get the salad. ** verve is great!!! Btw.

The food is very unappetizing and the serving speed is extremely slow. Sat for over an hour and only got salads and cold dishes. Ok we got the spaghetti and salmon, I kind of doubted if they had a chef - any passerby could make food like this. And it's very expensive. Basically, the price is higher than avg Michelin 1 star but the food quality is worse than KFC.

A
Andrew Valko

This review is based entirely on the fact that the cappuccino in the restaurant at Hotel Nia was NINE DOLLARS and wasn't even good. The food itself is passable, but blatant gouging like the this seems to fit in with your average "hotel restaurant" formula.

D
Daniel Caselles

I am assigning 1 start because it is the minimum required, I would have assigned zero if possible though. Even though my problem started with the ballet parking service, the lack of professionalism and customer oriented service of the NIA hotel's front desk people for handling a conflict was a big disappointment/surprise. If you are planing to go to the NIA Hotel Restaurant (Porta Blu), be ready to expend more than a twice the worth it price (unjustified expensive for the location and quality), plus +$32 for the ballet parking for 2.1 hours. Save your time and money. They ruined our night!

L
Luisa Dickson

So difficult to get a server, took 45 minutes trying to leave, food came cold and burned 😭 which was a major disappointment considering the price Point of their menu

T
Tony B

Food very expensive and underwhelming. They add 20% gratuity automatically (I was single diner and just had a salad) but never brought the water I asked for and food took forever despite a nearly empty restaurant. Lastly, when I asked for a lunch dessert menu, the server said "I'm sorry, the chef is saving them for dinner" . At $500/night, I'd expect better service from this restaurant.

D
Dustin Barker

Restaurant menu has vegan options but the staff doesn’t know what that means. Order it vegan and they’ll ask if you want eggs and salmon and then they’ll serve it with cheese. It would be better if they didn’t offer vegan option at all. At least I’d have known to go somewhere else.

Total train wreck. Seated at filthy table. 15 minutes before anyone approached us. Ordered food and drip coffee, requested table be cleaned and for silverware. 15 more minutes, no coffee, no silverware and still have a filthy table. 5 mins later my wife gets up, grabs napkins from the bar and starts wiping the table. Bus boy arrived minutes later and again cleaned the table... Keep in mind this is nearly 40 minutes since we were seated. I asked for silverware, our coffee, water and a manager. 10 minutes pass. Our drip coffee finally arrives. I request cream and sugar, it isn't offered. 5 minutes later part of our food arrives. Of the 3 meals ordered, one was wrong and one never came. I again asked for a manager. Cream and sugar comes. The $8 drip coffee is terrible. My wife gets up and finds salt and pepper. The pepper grinder is filthy. 10 more minutes pass. No 3rd meal, no reworked 2nd meal and no manager. It was obvious other patrons were frustrated. There were two visible servers, about 7 active tables and clearly no manager. Avoid at all cost.
