Since we aren't from town we order different food to try it, we ordered alpastor and carnitas tacos, tacos dorados(flautas), red enchiladas, and hamburger with fries. My kids won't eat anything but they left the container empty. They said it was delicious. In my opinion I would of add Mexican cheese like seco or fresco to the enchiladas and tacos dorados instead of the "quesadilla melty cheese" and I would add more cilantro and onion to my tacos but I mean if I wanted my way I guess I can make it at home 😊The flavor was good, customer service was polite and we thought our food was going to take a long time since I order 6 different dishes but it was actually real quick.

My first time there with my mom and the food was awesome so good. I can't wait to go back and try the asada fries. O my, so good I'm getting hungry for this food at this restaurant. 😋🤤😊👍🙏😍😎

Best Mexican food place, it's not fast food but you don't wait long to get what you order. Hands down the best place to get your Mexican food fix. Definitely don't go throw your money away at Victoria's unless your already drunk and it's afterhours 😂

I loved Mario's taco shop I had the Carne Asada burrito and it was amazing. The hot sauce was very good and the lady that took my order and gave me my food was very polite , welcoming, and beautiful. Whenever I'm in Merced I'm definitely going to stop by.

The food is really good. I really only go for the shrimp burritos. I haven't tried the rest of the things on the menu but the shrimp burritos are so tasty!! Been ordering that for like 3 years now.

Bomb!!! Try the 1.50 bean and cheese burritos worth the price for sure. I love the beans they are Mexican authentic. Maybe the only place here in Merced that refried their beans like they should be. Wanna a tip? Add ur favorite meat to the burrito for only a $1 per meat. Now u have a 2.50 great tasting burrito. My favorite to add is carne asada. I recommend this place as a whole and not just for the 1.50 bean and cheese burrito with carne asada, but for their customer service and prompt service. Many selections, also u may eat inside or on a patio area outside and even parked in ur vehicle. Great food

Always good food. From the simple bean and cheese burrito to the caldo de res.... It's all delicious. Don't go in there hungry, because you may have a hard time choosing what you want because it all looks so yummy, and infact it all tastes so yummy!!!

Decided to try this place. I can't vouch for their whole menu but I gotta tell you. This torta was amazing. The bread. Perfect. The chicken seasoning. Perfect. The toppings perfect. 10/10 torta. My only issue was it was a little soggy on the bottom and it kinda ripped apart when I tried to pick it up. Probably better to eat this with a fork and knife but that couldn't kill the vibe. It was so good. They also have this light green chile idk what it is but I loved that too. The other ones not so much. Was very impressed with this place. The torta was about 16$ after bit pricy but worth it. If you know this town yeah there's alot of foot traffic walking around. People looking like ghosts talking to themselves so im taking one point off atmosphere but besides that I would try again. Maybe its because I grew up here that I wasn't to freaked out but yeah I'd recommend coming in the day time. I will be back thanks

Great food at decent price! I showed up 30 minutes before closing. Only card was being accepted at that time. The man at the counter was polite and patient. The prices were fair and the wait time was reasonable. My order was correct and the portions were a good size. $49 for fajitas, bean and cheese burrito, burrito supreme, carne asada fries, and a crispy chicken taco. The only negative thing is that the bean and cheese burrito was poorly wrapped and soggy so it needed to be eaten with a fork, which wasn't bad! It still tasted great.

I love Mario's Taco Shop. My wife and I are always looking for good Mexican food. This is our 2nd time going there. The burritos are good. And so are the street tacos. The chili Verde is pretty good too.

Person would have suggested something or talk to us it felt like maybe they weren't having a very good day.. we walked in and it smelled nice and clean and the floors were freshly mopped great job keep up the good work I had the steak Fajita Quesadilla combo it was great and my husband had the carniatas torta combo it was alright ....they have sitting outside and inside and they also have an awesome salsa bar I had took pictures but my phone deleted them have a great day great place to bring a huge family lots of sitting

Carne asada meat was full of gristle, couldn't eat it. Worker started mopping the floor with bleach or pinesol water and grossed us both out. We both put our food in the trash and left.

I give this a three-star on everything because it's not bad but I wanted an asada burrito supreme and it was meat and a little dab of sour cream . I've eaten some other good food here but their Supreme burritos are far from Supreme. I wish I had taken pictures. A supreme should have lettuce tomato onions sour cream and definitely salsa. And I'm not sure what's with the salsa that all these places serve but salsa is supposed to be thick not watery when you put it on your burrito or food and it runs off and drips all over the place and makes your whole meal wet. I know lots most people don't complain about that. My girlfriend loves it.

The food is great my kids love eating here but sometimes the workers need to leave their issues outside the work place.But other than that best place to eat.

I recently tried the carne asada torta at Mario's Taco Shop, and I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. The portion size was smaller than expected, especially considering the higher price. And unfortunately, the bread was on the soggy side, which affected the overall texture of the sandwich. I was hoping for a more substantial and satisfying experience. 😔🌮🥖

I ordered a chorizo and egg burrito and asked them to add bacon and potatoes. There was no bacon or potatoes and very little chorizo. It tasted so bad, I had to throw it put half way through.

The service sucks I ordered carne asada nachos and they gave me asada I sell the fries and did not want to fix it and argued with me about it never going there again

Absolutely horrible customer service. The man in front taking orders was so rude. We spent over $50.00 on dinner and it was not worth $50.00. Three out of five of us couldn't eat our dinner and they didn't want to fix it because we took it outside to the tables and "left the restaurant" even though we where sitting outside on their tables.

My food was dry flavorless the condiment area was dirty pretty empty the only thing that was good was a service what a waste of my money and time even my grandchildren wouldn't eat their beans and rice my granddaughter wouldn't eat her torta and my daughter wouldn't eat her enchiladas

Our cocktail had literally 4 shrimp in it. The asada burrito had nothing but beans! We noticed until we got home and called to inform them, the guy was rude and said bring the food back and I’ll give you the money… he said it wasn’t his fault bc he wasn’t the cooker, we were not driving 15 minutes back again to get our money plus we were already eating the food, that’s how we noticed. So expensive for the poor service, not worth $50 with some tacos. I ended up with stomach ache after eating some of that nasty tiny burrito! I wish I could upload a picture of the food to show size and quality but either I don’t know how or that option is not available.

Mario's is officially dead. This place has gone completely down hill since covid. Clearly they're just trying to stay afloat. However, while I would believe that cutting portions could be a quick solution, cutting quality is not. They have cut the quality down to absolutely disgusting levels. Here is what i ordered Fajitas quesadilla - steak had tons of fat and gristle I had to throw out. Was also overly salty and didn't even taste like steak. The vegetables were okay, but tasted extremely generic. They also seem to have used something other than butter on the tortilla. It tasted slightly chemically or just odd. Definitely not butter. Taquitos/rolled tacos - these went from large diameter, "home made" tasting ingredients to now extremely pathetic looking AND tasting tiny little things. The crisp level was decent but definitely not like they were. The filling is also some unknown paste now vs what used to be delicious shredded beef. This has been without a doubt my last visit. Been eating here since the 90s

Ordered twice from them with the same order of carne asada nachos but they actually use cold shredded cheese instead of hot nacho cheese. When confronted about it, they deny i ever asked for nacho cheese despite it saying nacho cheese on their sign, and hung up on me on the phone.

All one star my carne asada fries were not cooked at all the lady up charged us by 2 dollars when we told her it’s 12.50 she said “well obviously someone replaced the sign” which isn’t true because it was always 12.50 so don’t eat here
