WTF ISthis

Decided to try this place. I can't vouch for their whole menu but I gotta tell you. This torta was amazing. The bread. Perfect. The chicken seasoning. Perfect. The toppings perfect. 10/10 torta. My only issue was it was a little soggy on the bottom and it kinda ripped apart when I tried to pick it up. Probably better to eat this with a fork and knife but that couldn't kill the vibe. It was so good. They also have this light green chile idk what it is but I loved that too. The other ones not so much. Was very impressed with this place. The torta was about 16$ after bit pricy but worth it. If you know this town yeah there's alot of foot traffic walking around. People looking like ghosts talking to themselves so im taking one point off atmosphere but besides that I would try again. Maybe its because I grew up here that I wasn't to freaked out but yeah I'd recommend coming in the day time. I will be back thanks

My mom would take me to this hole in the wall when I was a kid, in '99.. Until this day, Mario's is really good. Good, reasonably priced food. Very consistent, good recipes. Indoor & outdoor dining. Even MPD like to come & have their lunch at this classic taco shop.. Best taco shop in town.. Don't forget to ask about their value menu, that is kind of like a "secret menu".... Best chips & cheese(can add jalapenos), was 99¢ before COVID, now 1.99(1$ menus don't exist anymore obviously)... Yummy & cheap!

I have been searching for delicious Al pastor made with pineapples, and I am always looking for Delicious enchiladas... It seems I'm particular about the enchilada sauce. Anyways, this place has both and they were both so good. My son got a birria and the consomme was absolutely amazing. So much flavor, I just wish there was more than the tiny little cup he had, that way he could share more with me lol. The marinated carrots were perfect as well. Not too spicy but not too mild either. Outside, the place looks small with only outdoor seating available, but when you order inside it's got two indoor areas that are pretty nice with interesting wall decor. After trying so many Mexican restaurants in Merced, it's nice to finally find one that has 3 of my favorite menu items, made well.

Today, I visited Mario’s Taco Shop and enjoyed the carne asada nachos—they were delicious. The salsa cart offered about four different flavors, along with jalapeños. If you’re ever in Merced, I highly recommend trying the nachos.

Best carne asada quesadilla I can ever remember. Perfect balance of meat and cheese with some freshly chopped today tomatoes (it makes a huge difference) and a bit of guacamole. My husband had 2 beef tacos and said they were outstanding. We can’t wait to eat here again!!!

Craving menudo and a tortas they were fired and the cook and cashier gave us great service food hit the spot! Stopped by people try it I’m sure you’ll find something there you’ll enjoy! I also recommend carne asada fries they are really good!

Great food at decent price! I showed up 30 minutes before closing. Only card was being accepted at that time. The man at the counter was polite and patient. The prices were fair and the wait time was reasonable. My order was correct and the portions were a good size. $49 for fajitas, bean and cheese burrito, burrito supreme, carne asada fries, and a crispy chicken taco. The only negative thing is that the bean and cheese burrito was poorly wrapped and soggy so it needed to be eaten with a fork, which wasn't bad! It still tasted great.

I wasnt impressed... My daughter liked the torta. My other daughter didnt finish her asada fried. It had chunks of raw jalapeno. I guess some like that. It was just hard to eat. The wet burrito was flavorless. Or maybe it was so spicy that i couldn't taste anything else. It looks better than it tasted.

One of the worst carna burritos I ever had not only was it skimpy as hell it has a strange taste. Little meat no rice has red onions on it who puts red onions on a burrito 🤢 didn’t even get lemon on the side wouldn’t have helped it tried drowning it in chilli and it’s still nasty

One star for friendly gentleman who took my order. Food was bad. Asked for a to go menu. Didn't have any. No worries, I will snap some pictures of the menu on the wall. Got yelled at for taking pictures of the menu. Will not visit again.
