My wife and I started going here for a while now and each time it's always good service and great food! The Santa Barbara salad is really great! We don't prefer the egg, blue cheese or the strawberry sauce but with extra avocado and cucumber makes every bit worth it. For 16$ it's totally worth the pricing we can share this salad together and still have some left over. Sweet potato fries are really great too if you haven't had them it's a must have too!
Always love their food, a little pricey. But it is good food. Their burgers are always seasoned. They taste great! Highly recommend.
I placed an online order for curbside pick-up. The curbside pickup was only marked on the concrete (no sign), but located directly in front of the entrance. My order was brought out fairly quickly by a smiling employee. She was courteous and polite. The sides were still warm and the portions were a good size. My 4 custom burgers were labeled clearly and the food was not made sloppily. They also didn't "forget" to pack the condiments I requested. Thank you for the great dinner and perfect customer service! My only complaint was seeing an employee cough into her hands and didn't go directly to wash them. She wasn't behind the counter tho, so maybe she was on a break and washed her hands before returning to work. My order ($54): 4 cheeseburgers 8 piece chicken bites 4 fries 1 onion rings 1 chocolate shake 1 sundae
I'm a native Santa Barbaran. I've been eating at the original Habit in Goleta for decades. This Habit in Merced is one of the biggest, cleanest, and nicest franchises I've eaten at. Well done, guys!
This is a new restaurant in our area and the first Habit I've ever eaten at. I've gone thru the drive-thru a few times and this was my first time i had gone inside to eat with a friend. The food has been consistently good each time I've eaten there. They have some of the best onion rings i have ever had. I wish the fries were cooked a little longer but that is just my personal preference, they are still very good. The hamburgers are very fresh unlike many other fast food places I've eaten at. The prices are a little higher, but then again everything has gone up so much in price these days. At least here your getting good food for your money. If your in the mood for a tasty burger then i recommend you give them a try.
I recently tried to order ahead online for pickup using The Habit app. My order wasn’t able to be completed after multiple attempts at changing the required ETA during checkout so I was forced to wait until I got there to go inside and ask for help placing my order. I showed the girl behind the counter the issue on the app which she also could not figure out how to bypass. The employee, Adrianna, whom I assume was a manager (due to her uniform) explained that perhaps my order wasn’t able to be completed because the lobby had just closed. (I was attempting to order pickup to go inside the restaurant.) This might be true but I’d also began trying to place my order before it was 9:30pm. And she said a few other customers have complained of the same issue too. She further informed me that the lobby closes at 9:30 pm but the drive thru stays open later. Unfortunately I was walking since I am disabled and don’t drive, and could not utilize the drive thru. Since she could see that I had truly been unable to use the app, she sympathized and explained that the lobby was closed but if I’d like, she’d fulfill my order (1 charburger w cheese & a side of deep fried avocado wedges) though I’d have to take it to go. That’s all I wanted in the first place so I was very satisfied w that offer. She was extremely polite and considerate about my butgerless situation, and I appreciate her willingness to meet halfway. That was a very nice thing for her to do even though she really didn’t have to. I can see why she’’s a manager! The burger was hot & tasty and perfectly customized to my preferences. The avocado wedges were amazing. I thought they’d be mushy but they’ weren’t at all and go great w ranch. Next time I’ll put them in my burger. The prices are good, the burgers are great and the customer service is absolutely wonderful. I definitely recommend.

By far, the best Habit restaurant I’ve been to. I have been to the Turlock and Atwater location and their food as well as their customer service is horrible. The Merced staff are AMAZING. They are patient, kind and fix any mistakes on your order. Ibet is sooooo sweet! She’s always kind and welcoming.

We mobile ordered and order the same thing all the time. On the receipt it even shows what toppings you don’t want on your burger. They completely ignored the order and added everything. So my wife went to the counter with her burger and stated she asked for certain toppings not be put on her burger, the clerk was rude and said do you have your receipt. Like my wife was lying. Of course we had the receipt we just picked up the order and I was eating in the lounge with her. So they remade her burger and added the same toppings again, completely ignoring what it said on the receipt, mind blowing! We love your burger’s but will never go to the Merced location ever again, Or any Habit as far as I’m concerned. Tell your employees to pay attention to making food! And I forgot to mention the ice machine was busted, so no ice for soda. UPDATE: I am changing my review! The issue was taken care of promptly by the company! Now that is amazing customer care!! You won me back as a customer. And if anyone is reading this. They not only take care of their customers, they have incredible hamburgers and amazing onion rings. Thank you!

They grill their buns which causes them to be fairly dry, but not in a good crunchy on the edges, soft in the center grilled way, maybe that location is doing it incorrectly. Some may like that, but I don't. This has been the situation all 4 times I've ever been there so I think that's by design. So if you like your buns that way, it's great. If you don't, 5 Guys is right across the street. So I'm not trashing Habit, I just don't like my buns dry. It's the kind of place I want to love, but I don't.

That said, the drive-thru can be pretty slow most of the time, so if you're in a hurry, it might test your patience a bit. But overall, the quality of the food makes up for the wait. Would I go back? Absolutely — just not when I’m in a rush.

I have ordered here 3 times since they opened (1.5 weeks ago) and the quality has been different every time. 1st was really good! No major complaints. 2nd time the food quality was pretty good but they didn’t include the cheese (extra $) or requested ketchup or standard salad dressing. :( 3rd time was pretty poor quality. Patty was half the size of the bread and burned on the outside, med-rare on the inside. The burger was slapped together and fell apart very quickly. All three times, the sides were cold despite picking them up right on time and I was a little irked to see employees handling fries and other side trays with bare hands and only a napkin.
Very disappointed our chicken avocado salad literally only had chicken on half of the sandwich. When we approach the manager she kept giving us some random excuse and then finally the cook gave us another piece of chicken for a sandwich. The customer service management is not very good at all. I ordered a teriyaki charburger well done and it was still pink in the middle. Very disappointed in this establishment as well as the customer service

Was craving burgers last night but don't like driving after dark so we DoorDash'd our dinner. The Santa Barbara burger and the Bacon cheeseburger were very good. A little pricey-almost $40 for 2 burgers and 1 fry but good quality. The order wasn't ready when the driver got there though. This location seems to have problems with speed of service

I m DoorDash driver.. 20 minutes waiting after 10:00 pm for order in drive thru line
Ordering in person is fine, but every time we order online, they mess the order up. We ordered 2 vegetarian burgers and we're given cheeseburgers which could not be eaten. If you are going to eat here, do no order online or in the app, and if you do, check before leaving that your order is correct.
If your a person that like personal service and a stupid machine it's best not to come here, when you finally get your order taken you to wait thirty minutes to get served, after you get you food you'll find no catch-up in the dispensary and nobody to help get some. And will we were eating at least 4 couples walk out because of no counter service I felt like we were not important, so I probably won't be back.
I've been to this place numerous times the past two years as it's convenient to me, but as of writing this review, the service has reached an all-time low. It's not uncommon to wait 5-10 minutes in line without it moving at all, and the breaking point for me was waiting in line for 20 minutes without it budging. This is completely unacceptable for me, especially with how the prices are already high here to begin with. I don't know what needs to change: whether it's an issue with understaffing, slow workers, but something needs to happen, because at the current moment it's legitimately faster (and cheaper) for me to drive across town and get In N Out and get back, than to wait in a 6 car line at The Habit.

The manager was very young and did not fully understand what kind of products this restaurant even sold which is always something scary being that they're in charge. Food was okay I felt like the burgers used to be bigger Food was okay I felt like the burgers used to be bigger for $33 all we got was a Lettuce wrap a Burger fries and a small up charge on the fried green beans. Soda was flat. Burger could have had more seasoning blue cheese could have been melted on to the Patty this is just basic stuff when it comes to making a burger sadly this place is new. Hopefully they get it right next time but I will not be back.

Inside restaurant I overheard a diner return his burger finding a bug. He got 2 coupons and burger remade. The entry and exit lanes are convoluted. Burger and and fries are dry and hard. For over $11 I expected better. Not going back until the ‘bugs’ are worked out, pun intended!
6/19/25 Becareful of the toothpicks in the club sandwiches, I had two toothpicks sticking out of both my half cut sandwiches and both of the toothpicks were broke in half, i pulled one half out but the other half was still lodged in the sandwich had I not looked before I bit into the sandwich I could have been impaled. Double-check your toothpicks, it will cause serious harm!

Just walked in, stood in line for almost 10 minutes to have the cashier walk away, saying he would be right back. After 5 more minutes I walked out. Yes, they were busy, but that isn't my problem. Staff properly.

We have eaten here numerous times driving from Clovis to Sonora to pick up a grandson..Food and service has always been great until today. We waited for quite some time for two people to finally finish their private conversation. When the very impolite girl cane to the register there was absolutely no greeting, hello, would you like to order. Nothing. So I proceeded to say what we wanted the first words out of her mouth were to ask how we wanted the onions. My husband was standing by so asked him how he wanted them cooked and she sighed. So that ended the transaction because my husband said we don't need to give them our business. At that point I said we'll guess we aren't eating here. Not one word out of her mouth just left the register .
Waited in drive thru for 20 minutes only to find out that there was no ranch for the onion rings and no utensils. I also ordered bbq chicken salad and the tomatoes were not diced, they just threw in whole tomatoes. The issue lies with the workers prioritizing conversing with each other instead of focusing on making the customer's order. Note: There was also no receipt given.
Ordered chicken club, sweet potato fries, and a drink cost 20 bucks. Ordered no mayo on my sandwich but it came lathered on it andthe fries were cold. For that price should at least get it correct. I won't be back.
Usually the food here is good (sometimes great) but I made the unfortunate mistake of trying the current special - the spicy chicken sandwich. The ad makes it look very appealing. This was anything but appealing. It was IMMERSED in the hot sauce, along with pickles. To the point where it was soggy and barely edible. Didn't taste all that great either. I don't think it was suppose to be slathered in the sauce, it definitely would have been better if it wasn't. I didn't eat the whole thing and my stomach is not terribly pleased today either. I'm sure I will eat there again but I'll only stick to basic fare in the future. That withstanding, our order was incredibly expensive for two. Almost $40. We did get two shakes but it's still a bit ludicrous. One could go to a restaurant for that.
Ordinarily, I like Habit. Food is OK, however extremely overpriced. This particular Habit had extremely rude employees. Went with my family for lunch after soccer. Ordered kids meals for the Littles while I was waiting for my husband and other daughter. Received my kids meals except the drinks. Waited for several minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. Then when one of the employees finally came over, she had an attitude when I asked for my cups. Clearly seeing I had 2 kids meals on my tray, she asked what size cups, then rolled her eyes when I said that if eas for the kids meals. We then ordered the rest of our food a few minutes later. You can ONLY order at the kiosk in this restaurant and they send you a text when your food is ready. I was standing at the counter for several minutes prior to receiving the text. And waited for about 10 minutes after receiving it. The same employee asked what I was waiting for. I told her I got the text that my food was ready, but it never made it to the counter. She said someone else must have taken it. I told her I had been standing there the whole time and it never came up. She said they would have to "re-make" it, but still gave me fried greenbeans that had been sitting on the counter for the past 15 minutes. Expensive and rude. I'll pass next time.
** Do not visit this location ** Unfortunately, my recent visit to this Habit Burger location was quite disappointing. The soda we received was flat, and when we brought it to the staff’s attention, they were rude about it. Despite getting a second cup, the issue persisted, and the response from the staff, including the manager Anaie, was unhelpful and rude. When we requested a refund, we were surprised by the amount of personal information they required, including our phone number and email. This was the worst experience we got at any Habit Burger location.
Food was cold. Waited 20 minutes in line with nobody in front of me paid for two ranches and didn’t get Any at all Second time at this location will not be returning. You’re better off just going to McDonald’s.
Don't waist your time and money here. I gave this place three tries. -cold food -stale bread -excessive salt -unedible fries -25min drive through wait for being only the second car. -40 min drive through wait for being 3rd car -employee lied to my face. Asked if she added the ranch to my bag, she said yes. Of course it wasn't is there. Vote with your dollars. I don't vote for this place to stay in Merced. It's not worth it.
Went through the drive-through and was the fifth car in line. We moved up once in 15 minutes. I'm now the third car in line and I've been here for 25 minutes. They really need to figure out A more efficient drive-through.
