Delicious food and affordable Great service 👍 Love it!!
Marie's, is a long time Mexican resturant in Merced. Great food ,service and atmosphere. It family oriented. You won't be sorry.
Its been a while since we last ate here, but what an improvement, the food has gotten better, it used to be noting but grease, I guess what a different when owners change who care for their customers, keep up the great cooking
The menudo was great.. nice and hot, no long wait our waitress Rosa was kind and thoughtful.. we recommend Marie's Mexican Kitchen to anyone hungry enough to walk away with a smile.
Came from San Diego and was looking for a place to have some menudo and found this place , great service, staff supper friendly and the menudo was outstanding, haven’t had a menudo like this in many years, if you are looking for a good Mexican food restaurant this is the place .
Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Homemade tortillas. Very consistent. Staff is great. Work hard to make you feel at home. REAL food🎈
There amazing defiantly makes you think of merced there our style of comfort food can honestly say we leave with browns bags full there simply amazing little hole in the wall i hope stays open forever essay on of merced most underrated family own restaurant
The food was delicious but I must say the homemade flour tortillas were the star of the meal that brought everything together one complementing the other.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Merced! Everyone is always so friendly and helpful! You MUST,try their Chile Verde with their homemade tortillas!
My main visits are for the $1 bean and cheese burritos ready to go. Bomb diggity and homemade flour tortillas, homemade salsa too. yummiest!
A super place to eat. Take out or eat there. Awesome. Friendly and have never had a bad meal here.
Simple but delicious. They really do it all.
This place is where my wife and I go on dates. They are very nice and friendly people. Great food too.
Love there salsa and the 1$ bean burritos 🌯
Been going here 40+ years. A few owner changes but the recipes remain pretty much the same. Good food.
I eat here all the time with my friends and family. I love combo plates. Chile relleno and enchiladas are the best.
Love the ready to go take out burritos! Fed 3 people w/ $7...bean n cheese $1each and they also have breakfast, carne asada, chorizo, and chili Verde for $3-4 each
My friend and I come here frequently for the daily specials! Enchiladas with rice and beans, Huge Taco and enchilada with rice and beans, costillas with rice and beans. They're Jamaica/Hibiscus juice is delicious! It's on point everytime I order and I appreciate the consistency of their food and Jamaica drink. Also, when on a budget, you can't go wrong with the $1 bean and cheese cart they have outside made with homemade tortillas. SUPER YUMMY!! Customer service is fantastic, too!
Food was incredible!!! My first taste of "real" Mexican food in 2 yrs since I moved out of CA. Everything was fresh and delicious! Service was definitely 5 star!
Maries has very good mexican food. I love to go there on wednesdays and get the all you can get enchiladas. They give you three choices and i try them all. The sauce is spiced perfectly, the salsa tastes good, and the service is amazing. My drink never stayed empty long.
I was walking around downtown and I was getting real hungry. I was seated quickly and was eating in no time. I'm also doing keto and they accommodated all my substitutions. Great place!
Marie Marie Marie well we visit this place just about every morning. They have a food stand outside called food on the go and they offer $1 bean and cheese burritos and they are super good, they also have chorizo and egg, bean and carne asada, chile verde and all the food is prepped for you to pull up grab it and go. The people are so nice and friendly. Not just the ones who work there but the ones who visit also it's just a great environment.
My wife, son and I ate dinner at Maries. I ate the Chile Verde Burrito with rice it was authentic and delicious. My son had a Carne Asada burrito that was so huge he couldn't finish it but he tried. He took the rest home. My wife had the Caldo De Res and loved the flavor and fresh vegetables in it. It was served quickly and the waitress was attentive to make sure we had refills. Try it you will not regret it.
Simple good food. This little place has been there for many years. Our crowd went there to eat before the show 40 years ago and we still do. Simple Mexican food that they make on site. Tastes great.
I always have a pleasent experience there the food is so delicious the service is lovely kind and smiles thank u for being so warm and yummy
Been here once and I liked it. I am willing to go back, the huevos rancheros were delicious and their burrito stand outside is a quick option for a fast breakfast or snack lol
Very good restaurant with a typical Mexican cuisine and decoration. The staff is very warm and their cooking is excellent. We are French and we really enjoyed our meal.
The food is so good here. And you can't go wrong with $1 bean burritos. Salsa is tasty! Reasonable prices & friendly staff.
Fantastic food. Must stop. Old school place that hasn’t changed. Classic Mexican home style food.
It's nice they make and sell breakfast burritos super cheap. $1 bean and cheese. $4 chorizo & egg
Awesome place to eat. Homemade tortillas!!!! Service is 5 star awesome. The food authentic Mexican. Thought my grandma was in the kitchen helping them.
Very tasty food. Very attentive staff. Good breakfast menu. We got the chilaquiles and menudo. Highly recommended. Glad we came here.
I just started going to them for breakfast and it was good. Wanted to take my family to lunch when they were down so we can all try it out for the first time together, but unfortunately they close really early. I can say the breakfast burritos are the bomb.
Great value, if you value freshly prepared food. Served piping hot with a smile. A must stop on your way to Yosemite.
Waiting seats available if no seats are free. Tv with sports. Large variety of food options. Ordered the quesadillas, very flavourful, but a little dry. Added the salsa from the complimentary chips and salsa, and it made it 10/10.
Fantastic stop on our way home from Yosemite. I had the chorizo burrito and kids had the American breakfast. Great handmade tortillas, salsa, and tasty pancakes. Will be stopping here every time we go to Yosemite now. Highly recommend
Services were very kind and I loved Stake quesedia and burrito 🌯 Amazing food and amazing place to stop and eat, if you are having road trip. I had no stomach issue a day later.
Our party of loved it. 3 had soft tacos and I had a chicken chimichanga.
Went here for food yesterday, and it was excellent. The food tasted wonderful, especially the chicken tacos. The lady at the front who I talked to was also very kind. I'll definitely be going here again!
Old school Mexican food that fills you up... Delicate and delectable tortilla chips with a hot salsa and the rice and beans are legit. Enchiladas are one of the best and the fresh made tortillas are fantastic!
Most affordable, delicious and hot and ready food in Merced for breakfast!
Excellent burrito stand you've gotta stop for 1 dollar bean and cheese burritos wish we had this in Maryland. No need to come in just get out of car stand at the small podium and they come outside to you.it is quick and easy if you have cash! To the owners thank you for your excellent menudo oh so good!!
Food was Great. I had the Chorizo and eggs. Was not greasy at all. Great flavor, the salsa is nice and spicy. Very friendly and comfortable place to eat. I will be Happy to go back and try their burritos.
This place is delicious! Real, authentic Mexican food! We went for breakfast. The kids ordered American breakfast. I got the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs mixed in and beans in the side. They were delicious! A bit of a spice, but delicious nonetheless! Hubby ordered the chorizo and egg burrito. He said it was the best he has ever had. So much so, he went back the next morning and ordered one to go! The view is not great, but the food and the service make up for it!
Marie's is one of my favorite places here in Merced for great Mexican food. My opinion is a tad biased due to the owner being my neighbor, but I felt this way prior to finding out we lived across the street from each other. Lol. Lastly, the $4 breakfast burritos 🌯 are amazing, affordable, and quick with the kiosk out front.
Met for a quick lunch date with my sweetie, obviously a neighborhood favorite and DT Merced staple. Friendly and fast spot for a quick bite. The fish tacos were solid, chilaquiles were delicious but cold when they got to me. Great sauce, good eggs, appropriate cotija. I’m coming back for the mini bean and cheese burrito.
This place is a staple! My favorite is the Chile Verde, eggs, rice and beans! And a bottomless cup of coffee ☕️! It's the best!
Merced sure has a whole lot of Mexican restaurants, I was like a kid in a candy store..couldn't make up my mind which one to go to! So I asked around a bit, and learned a lot about a few of the favorites, but if you want the best burrito in Merced you got to hook up with Marie's Méxican Kitchen, and that's exactly what I did, and Iet me just say this about that huge burrito...it was Amazing! 5 stars all day long ☆☆☆☆☆
Great Mexican food and also great service. It's hard to come across a place that can have both these days. The building it self is old but don't judge a book for it's cover. Should be considered a Merced landmark.
Wonderful spot for quick and reasonably priced Mexican food. Really friendly. Great environment to eat in but food is also quickly available for takeout. Lots of regulars. Private back room and deck. Delicious!
Authentic mexican food. Very good 👌 I had 2 soft chicken tacos and a friend had the sope. The restaurant looks as if you're entering Marie's casa. You blink you miss it
Lovely Mexican joint on our road trip. I went with the old staple of potato egg and cheese burrito and she went for the chilaquiles. Both were lovely. Table salsa was bold and tasty.
Love, love, LOVE their albondigas soup and homemade tortillas. Great, cute location to sit outside and enjoy delicious Mexican food. I also like that they have a few beer selections, and a red beer option. Very reasonable prices as well. This is my go to when I want delicious food but don't want to spend a lot of money.
Food was good! The service was good but they are busy, so be patient. The location is downtown and they have a outdoor seating area in front of the theater.

Need breakfast on the cheap to get the day started? Then this is the go to for $1 bean and cheese burritos. Meat burritos are still a steal at $4 each (as of Oct 2025). They now have a cool little shed you can walk up a get burritos pretty quick. They start at 7am and run i think till noon? Not sure. Ive been there as late as 10am and they still sell them. Definitely at least a try it out once. Odds are it'll be on your go to list too. If you have e the time to sot and enjoy a plate of food, you won't be disappointed with the food otherwise cozy vibe.
We love going there for their daily specials. Love the breakfast menu.
My husband and I often dine in for breakfast. We especially love the costillas and eggs along with fresh homemade flour tortillas. Coffee is always good too. Service is great, staff very attentive. They were especially exceptional today as I had left my purse by accident. I contacted the restaurant and they were quick to respond even though they were closed. I was able to retrieve my purse. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this place.
I can't stop raving about this Mexican gem! The service was top-notch - the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was a flavor explosion, with authentic spices and fresh ingredients that left my taste buds dancing. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Highly recommended!
My favorite place to have breakfast in town! It’s like walking into your grandmothers home and she has made a complete menu of food for you! Even their tortillas are homemade! They also have the best iced tea!
The hosting, waitresses and cooks all do an amazing job. Very family & friends oriented. The food is so authentic just like Mom's cooking. The restaurant is very nice & clean.

Its not Hildagos Tacos...but its pretty good, they got bean and cheese burritos...for like $1 i think...they are the best if ur starvin marvin!!!!
Still the best deal in town for the quick, cash only, burritos in town. Drive up when the stand is out front and grab a $1 bean and cheese burrito.
It was nice setting inside is better than outside food is good sauces are to thin need to be thicker but good mole sauce no bueno needs to have rich flavor and thickness very thin no good rich flavors
It was good. Had Posole & Menudo. Had Chile Colorado & Eggs B-Fast. Had fish tacos and asada tacos. Service was a B+.
Ok from the outside this place is un assuming. Was very surprised place has a unique funky vibe. A little of everything decorations. Now food is good not great but good and plenty. Beans and rice were very good. Beans seemed fresh and rice was moist and reminded me of homemade. Weekends they make homemade tortillas. Server was very attentive and polite. Checked on us and was unobturusive. Only reason for four stars was a scary woman walked in and asked for free chips. But server was very attentive and asked her to please leave. She was hanging out in parking lot as we left
good food, good price. waitresses are very attentive and sweet. The Establishment follows Covid 19 protocol. all in all a really nice place for lunch.
For starters my uncle took me here. Was very surprised outside looked very gaudy and unasuming. Inside was very eclectic and not typical Mexican decor for a Restaurant. Ok my server was very polite and friendly. Took drink order and gave us time to make choose. Wow my food was hot and tasty. Enchiladas were so yummy reminded me of homemade. Rice and beans were also fresh and also tasty. Am new to this town but I know I will be back soon. To try out the many other items on the Menu. Oh my son loved his tacos and burritos.
I gave the place 4 stars for taking so long. I ate outside on a beautiful June morning and don't know how busy it was inside the restaurant. 6/2/2022 When ordering burritos outside all orders must be paid in cash, credit cards and debit cards are no longer accepted.
Looks like a dive but the food is awesome. My uncle has been eating hear for years. The rice and beans are fresh and made the way mom did. The shrimp cocktail and Enchiladas are packed with chicken. Will be back soon to try other dishes
Ive been eating here since I was a little girl, and have never been disappointed in my choice to dine there. The service ALWAYS friendly, chips and salsa has always been my favorite and the food is very home made to me..I recently went with my husband and noticed new ownership, the service wasnt what I was used to, no offer to refill the drinks or chips and salsa, but everything else was good
Delicious Mexican cuisine. The salsa is great here. I had the chilaqules which I enjoyed. You can tell everything is cooked with flavor and tradition in mind. Bring cash to this spot and enjoy a local staple.
Love this restaurant. Me and my wife both ate here and we're extremely pleased with both the service and food.

Love this place, just happen to have to worst plate today. Rice was hard, definitely not from today. Beans are full of water, enchilada was delicious.
Local landmark. Food was unique in flavor and appealing. Decor and general building could use some upgrades. Will be visiting again and ordering a standard full meal.
Restaurant seemed somewhat empty, but very nice customer service!! I got a Chile Colorado burrito (~10$) to go, and it was overpriced for small portions and not a lot in the burrito (just the meat in the burrito, rice + beans were on the side)
Stopped for a "grab-n-go" burrito at their outside burrito stand and they were out of 3 different ones still listed on their dry erase board, and we ended up having to wait the amount of time like the customers sitting inside at tables for bean & cheese burritos, only outside standing in the sun!
The enticing nature of the homemade sign does not equate to flavor. Although the look of the building is nice the dish is not. Skip and go somewhere else.
Restaurant was pretty empty but waitress never came to check on us once after serving our meal. My friend & I had the lunch menu w/1 soda & our total was $43. Food was ok.
The waitress was amazing. Our food was cold when they reheated it and made my tostada fall apart. The shredded beef was absolutely amazing. The rice wasn't very good. Sort of bland tasted like oregano. The chili Rihanna comes out of a can. Very disappointing.. The lady at the counter was rude 😡 but our waitress was amazing.

I went to the restaurant and I ordered as I always ordered every restaurant a steak burrito with everything on it and I asked the waitress what goes on a steak burrito she told me steak lettuce beans I I asked her did they serve peppers she say yes cook with onions I said I would like that And also sour cream. I did not ask for chicken on my burrito. I got chicken and very, very small diced up steak then the lady was arguing with me on the phone like I didn’t know what I ordered. It was a young girl that didn’t pay attention to what I said, and she talked real fast that I couldn’t really understand what she was saying she act like she really didn’t wanna wait on me, but the food is very good

Non-compliant with purple tier status for Merced. Semi friendly. Burrito waitress had an unflattering greeting. Ordered egg and sausage burrito, received an egg and cheese. Tables for outdoor eating, unclean and unsanitized.
Worst cooked eggs I've ever had for breakfast. Rude Waitress. Better to grab a doughnut across the street.
This place is filthy and you should never eat here. I got a burrito and found two big rocks in it. I didn’t get offered a refund or anything just offered to make me another rock burrito. I know you don’t have to be smart to make food but you gotta be smart enough to not put rocks in it. I’ll invoice never set foot in this place again
I personally didn’t like the food it had an awful taste. I went to the restroom to find 3 alive cockroaches and two dead ones if this is what’s inside the establishment it makes me wonder if there are insects in the food too and the service was also very mediocre!
The young man who took my order had no idea what he was doing. I ordered a veggie burrito with beans, rice, guacamole, and veggies. I got a burrito with a side of beans, rice, guacamole, and sour cream. I was charged for every side. I asked for some chips and salsa and he tried to charge me $8. I explained that I just want a small side for 1 person. So he charged me $3. And then I got about 4 tablespoons of salsa. Everything was bland and had no flavor, more salsa really would’ve helped. Will not visit again.
Ordered 15 bean & cheese burritos from here for work on a Monday morning. Some guy drinking coffee came up & poured salsa in a cup and sent me on my way. By 10 am break I was throwing up & feeling terrible. I had to leave work from how sick I got. Missed 3 days of work thanks to what we've (co workers & I )narrowed down to being the salsa since I was the only one who poured some on my burrito. I'll never go back NOT worth the risk.
I've been going here for over 20 years the service and food as always been good but today the service was awful and very rude. The waitress actually was laughing at me. I ordered the grab and go burttios ahead of time like I do a couple times a week. I went in just like I usually do but was told by thiswatriess I had to wait outside in the cold. Then my order was different than usual and when I asked she game me some lame excuse and when I asked her name and the owner she gave it to but laughed and said she was the daughter in law to the owner and that she didn't care. No customers should ever be laughed at no matter if you the owners daugther-in-law. I will Never go back again
I ate there for the first time today. They were extremely nice. I ordered the special of the day. Costillas due it being recommended. It tasted alright. However.....it made me sick later. I vomited and it really upset my stomach. Had a horrible first experience
Worst burritos I have ever had. Ordered 3 chorizo and egg burritos and they were not what I ordered. It was potato and sausage, no chorizo at all. Will not buy there again.
Can’t say I would recommend this place. It’s kinda just there. Food wasn’t anything special but it was prepared fast. Servers were very forgetful, had to be reminded to bring us items and then served us bean dip when our chips were empty. So had to catch her again and ask for more chips. The highlight of my meal was the ice cold orange juice.
