I stopped in for Lunch and was impressed with the huge menu. Seemed a little understaffed but that didn't affect the service or quality. I ordered, would expect any but fish & chips, as their namesake recommends. I got 3 big pieces of their perfectly fried, flaky, moist, and tasty fried fish. Fried fish lovers, plan a trip, you will not be disappointed. The steak fries were good and the cole slaw kind of ok. Huge menu, enjoy the options.

This is my go to spot! I’ve been coming here for years & they never fail to produce amazing meals. I’ve tried just about everything on their menu & have never been let down. Here’s today’s meal, Jerk Pork with sides of mozzarella sticks & mac-n-cheese!

Jerked chicken is fantastic!! It has just the right amount of spiciness to taste as you're eating it. It will leave your lips tingling and your nose runny a bit haha. But that's a sign that it was really good, yet not overly spicy/hot. You are getting a large serving of real bone-in chicken here that's cooked perfectly and is really tender and moist. The rice, cabbage and plantains are just as plentiful of a serving and perfect complement to the jerked chicken. For an authentic jerked chicken meal you'd be hard pressed to find a better place in CT. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Super tasty and extremely tender chicken with rice. I find the staff very friendly and a clean dining room. After many delicious meals, I wanted to leave this five star review. The chicken with rice has a few different size options. I go for the medium one and I don’t leave hungry. They have a large selection of meals and soda’s. If you are in the area, I suggest stopping by to grab a bite to eat. Highly suggest.

I love this place! What a great place to come and get good food! I love there Jamaican food! Plenty of options on the menu from American to Jamaican Cuisine. Great soda and food. Prices were good also. Its a must if are looking for something different the. The same old burger joint. They give you good portions.

I was just at this restaurant and I sat my purse down on the table, plugged my phone in while looking for my new friend Ronan. I wanted to give her a tip because of her hospitality. Even the owner is amazingly nice. Today I had an issue with the other worker. She's a mother that brings her kid to work. I played ball with him last evening. He had fun. I had ordered a piece of carrot cake while I was there last evening when the same woman was there with her son. I was on the toilet using the bathroom. She opened the door!?!! She started yelling at me while I was on the toilet, literally even her son whom I played ball with could see me on the toilet. She yelled at me to never come back. She was rude and nasty towards me. Shame on her. I wasn't even doing anything. They literally allow homeless people to sit and get free water from there. I can't believe she did that!!!!! She doesn't own it does she? That was uncalled for and extremely awful to treat someone like garbage for dropping off a tip. So what if I charge my phone?

Food was good It was freshly prepared. The only draw back would be the female at the counter, she had very unpleasant face and so was her attitude not fit for a front line worker. I would go back but her attitude is a turn off

This system really needs to include practical stars. While not a lot of experience with this food or many, if any, around to close it to i'm playing it a little safe. Formerly jerk fish, this is a hidden gem, maybe because it's not a frequently traveled part of town? This is a place that I usually get something different at most every time. This time I went for the fish n chips, a favorite of mine. I know I have at least one other posting regarding fish n chips, and this one holds up. I never think it's going to be enough food and I end up calling mercy every time. The fish was excellent, perfectly cooked. Just enough batter to give you that crunch but not so much you don't taste the fish. I don't recall the exact fish used in this dish, but naturally it's a white flakey fish. As for the fries they are the usual steak frie for with this meal and just the way I like it with some crispy and some not. The other two meals here are the pork and, of course, ox tail. I don't know this for sure, but ox tail has to be the most popular dish out of here. I've had this in the past. It's great, but probably not for everyone. Not the most meat, but maybe the most tender. I can't speak personally for the pork but of the the places we ate at it was mentioned that this was the best. And this was not the most expensive place! You may not give it a second look driving by. Not a big fancy stand alone brick n mortar or in a trendy area. This is your typical order at the counter and get your food. Just a few tables, as most is take out. Hopefully you don't need those things to eat somewhere. This is a place you need to try.

Unfortunately the food is always drenched in gravy even when you request them not to do so. Also, ended up with food poisoning after getting the fried chicken and rice and peas with oxtail gravy, my husband bought for me. Typically the food tastes regular and doesn’t truly represent an authentic Jamaican cuisine. I’ve gotten food from here a few times now to support but due to the recent food poisoning I won’t be going back.

I noticed I see a lot of people different reviews and people saying this is really takes good. We had like really bad stomach pain. I don’t think we’re not returning to this place anymore and anybody who is recommended coming here to this place. I would not come here. But I just go to New London because towards the shore, they have way more tastier seafood there. French fries were fried and oily that’s not good. I don’t know what happened to this restaurant five years ago. People say it was really good now recently it’s not.

I got a large jerk pork. Unfortunately this is the only Jamaican food spot in this area. It was 20 bucks. When I got home and opened it, the meat was like dried up jerky. I called to complain and she passes the phone to a man. He denied serving me the food, and was defensive. We went back and forth and he was extremely rude. I am the customer spending my money there. The meat was old and crusty, bottom line. Won't go back I didn't get a refund like I should have. Will not go back.
