Tao's is an authentic Chinese restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine and dishes not typically found in takeout restaurants. Customers rave about the dumplings and the diverse menu, including the hard-to-find kang-kong and duck.
Tip: Be prepared for potentially slower service due to limited staff, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile.

This is the best Asian food I've ever had! They have such a diverse menu and the food is amazing. This is the only place in the area I know has duck and it's amazing. This is now out go-to spot for Asian food.
If you want some authentic food, then you need to go here. Holy smokes their dumplings were awesome; my kiddos absolutely loved them. It’s a small mom-pop shop, so don’t expect fast service, but certainly appreciate the care and quality when they took care of us as customers. And the dessert presentation was a great way to finish the meal. Will definitely stop by again!
Excellent authentic Chinese food. They specialize in delicious Chinese food you'd only find in NYC. Although they do have the common dishes that you see at regular Chinese take out joints, the star of the show are their szechuan dishes. Hard to find kang-kong (water spinach) upstate, which was great that they have it here. Will definitely come back to try everything else in the menu.
Everyone have to try this restaurant out. They are the best Chinese restaurant I ever try so far. I just in love with every single dishes that I have order. This isn’t a regular American Chinese food. This is the real authentic Chinese food. The owner is a sweet couple, only two of them working so it will take a little long for the food to come, but trust me it will be worth it the time of waiting. They give the love and care on every dish they bring to the table .
After our family trip, we passed by this small Chinese restaurant for dinner, which we didn't think was the best choice we had made before. This is a fantastic place that you can't find anywhere else. I highly recommend the sweet and sour crispy pork, an authentic northern Chinese dish. We were two adults and two kids, but we ordered seven dishes, which we finished all, and there was no left. Can't you imagine how good it is! Usually, after having Sichuan-style spicy food, we need to drink a lot of water, but this one we don't, which is the perfect seasoning 😘😘 highly recommended; you will never regret it!
This is truly a hidden gem. Great service, food was unbelievably good and the price is right. If your looking for a great spot for yourself, a date or even family night out you will not be disappointed here. I had the Griddle fish and veggies, tofu soup and hot green tea. The tea is open leaf, was very floral almost like a Jasmin tea. The soup broth taste so fresh, it was a huge portion and served with a tradition style bowl and spoon. The Griddle was straight up slamming, cooked fresh, had a good spice to it but was so flavorful at the same time. I ordered some food Togo as well; sweet and sour fish, veggie lo mein and some egg rolls. I wanted to have a taste of some lesser items and it was all sooo good. The sweet and sour sauce is so fresh, not that stuff you get at the fast food joints. If you like Chinese food but you want authentic high quality this is the place to be.
The food here is really tasty. We’ve been here several times now and always find new flavors to enjoy from the menu. The ingredients are fresh. The smoky flavor is skillful. We love this place!
The best Chinese food you will EVER have. Our favorites are the boiled fish in chili sauce, the Szechuan tofu with beef, and the fry fried green beans. You’ll never want Chinese food from anywhere else.
Wow! If you a like hot spicy dish, try the griddled fish. Besides being spicy, it was super flavorful. The beef with onions and scallions was great also. Very happy we tried this place out.
Certainly best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. Perhaps one of the best in lower Hudson. We live close to NYC and have access to countless Asian restaurants, but are so impressed that we always stop by here whenever we are in the region.
Excellent traditional Chinese food plus they also have the Americanized menu as well. Very flavorful.
Truly authentic style Chinese food. Many excellent menus, but their fried rice and mapo tofu is to die for. If you desire food from Chinatown or Flushing without traveling far, this is it.
Stopped in for a late diner. Wilson and Anita, such nice host. The duck with vegetables was absolutely delicious. I learned to say a new word. - xiè xie. Authentic Chinese Food prepared for you. The wait was worth it. I noticed a few dishes coming to a table behind me. They where amazing looking. I recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. Wilson is a master at preparing and plating food. This place is a hidden gem.
We had one of the best and most authentic Chinese food in the area, great find, the General Tso’s chicken was amazing
The food here is amazing! We've been back several times and like to try new things.
A restaurant like this in Middletown is long overdue. Not your typical take out Chinese restaurant. You'll find dishes with more traditional falvors although it still has high quality versions of the classics (eg general tso's) to satisfy those cravings. I'll be back for the high quality good, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Can't beat that.
I honestly can't recommend this place enough. It's a hidden gem for Chinese food in the area. The prices are beyond reasonable and the food is authentic. Please be patient on busy days though as they had trouble finding help before (it's literally just the husband in the back and his wife in the front)
If you like authentic Sichuan cuisine, this is the best place for like 50 miles. Don’t let me catch you ordering sesame chicken or General Tsao lol you gotta try the 酸菜魚片湯,重慶辣子雞,水煮魚片 etc, if you can’t read those just show them to the waitress, thank me later...
By far the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. It's run by great people. The food is outrageous in a humble yet comfortable and authentic setting.
Superb. Authentic, varied, Chinese/Cantonese dishes. On par with the likes of Flushing and Chinatown, NYC. Dare to try the seemingly non traditional dishes and thank yourself. 👨🍳 💋!
This is such a great place. Does anyone know what happened? Google says its temporarily closed.
Tao is really my favorite restaurant in this area. The only one authentic Chinese restaurant!!! Please try those spicy traditional dishes, don’t order American Chinese food. Trust me you will love them!
Very authentic Chinese dishes, one of the best in this area. The dine in wait time could be long during busy times, so we usually order take out.
It’s so amazing to find this place in a not-so frequent area. One of the best AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurants opened 2 years ago by a couple who were managing some of the best hotels in Las Vegas. Highly recommend!
Hi,guys,I want to share with you this restaurant,we are trying to find authentic Chinese food in Middletown and google found this one,we are typical Chinese people,so we do know how exact Chinese food tastes like, their food is pretty authentic, the owner actually also the cook, the couple’s cooking skill is very good, food tastes authentic, not so Americanized, but both of the couples don’t like to talk to customers, their serving attitude is polite but lack of welcoming atmosphere, the business looks very slow when we were there ,maybe the location is not so good, but anyway,we highly recommend this hidden restaurant in Middletown, their food is excellent, best we ever tried in Middletown!
This place is excellent. The food was amazing, the chicken was crispy, the staff is friendly, and the prices are great. I'll definitely be going back.
Traditional Chinese food. Not the run of the mill unhealthy stuff sold on every street. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are a good lover and love to try different things.
Very good Chinese food its only 2 people working the server and the cook so it makes Very long meal they also handle the takeout while they are working the dining room i suggest u ask for the check after the food hits the table and try to.pay with cash 💸 and close to.possible with exact change so u can leave in a reasonable time after dinner
Best real authentic Chinese food in the area. The owners work very hard and it shows in the quality and taste of the food.
My wife and I had a great experience. The food was delicious and authentic. The service was also great. I will be going back soon.
Yes yes yes! Best Chinese in this area! Love the griddle cooked dishes. Tingly in all the right ways. The pork and chive dumplings are amazing. Didn’t expect to find Chinese this good outside of the city. Haven’t tried hotpot, but looking forward to it. Staff is super friendly and takeout is saran wrapped to heck. Love this place!
Fantastic spot for authentic Chinese cuisine. Loved the mapo tofu and cumin sauteed lamb especially, but everything was great. Friendly staff. The food does take a bit of time to arrive, but it is sooo worth the wait. Highly recommend.
On a different level. Very nice husband and wife team, both well trained authentic Chinese chef's with high-end hospitality credentials, randomly land in Middletown in late 2019 and start doing what they do. Very Lucky Us. Compare to good fine dining in Manhattan and they fare very well. Very Fresh and just, the best. So unexpected. Diverse menu including the usual and much else. People travel from afar to come here, it's worth it. Nicer than normal place (for this area) on the inside, something they took over and fixed up, fairly large. But it looks like NOTHING from the outside - don't be fooled, Go In. Bring friends, it's a fun place with many big tables, full bar, lots of parking.
The food is fantastic!! Ignore the old reviews!! This is a Little hole in the wall with real Chinese food. Mom & Pop restaurant. They are new to the area. Husband was a chef in Las Vegas. Both husband & wife have been in many competitions. Front of menu, authentic Chinese food. The very back of menu is our traditional “Americanize Chinese food.” We ordered sweet & sour chicken, teriyaki chicken, back of menu, “Excellent, best chicken I have ever had.” Then we ordered a authentic Chinese dish, it was so delicious. It is not a fast food joint. Real authentic delicious Chinese food. We are coming back!!!
Wonderful little hidden gem just outside of Middletown. The owners are so polite. The lady usually at the register is great, we've spoken so many times whilst I've waited for my food. The food is made with love and very flavorful. Some meals can be pretty spicy so beware if you don't like the heat (they're listed on the menu). Delivery would probably make this my go-to spot for Friday night delivery. I've never dined inside though the option is available. This is a lovely spot, try it out!
Fantastic Food ! Clean! Authentic menu, American Chinese menu! Family owned Award winning chef from Ceasars Las Vegas right here in Middletown! Don’t be fooled by the atmosphere! Just eat and savor the fantastic dishes!
We just finished a fantastic meal at this restaurant! The owners were so pleasant as they greeted and served us. The food was so delicious and equal in taste and authenticity to restaurants we have gone to in NYC. The portions were generous. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. We highly recommend this hidden gem in Middletown.
Great food! Authentic Chinese! Everything made to order. We had the crispy duck and a wonderful vegetable dish! Chinese spinach with garlic. The Thai iced tea was delicious! You must try this place! Best, and only Authentic Chinese food north of the city or Jersey!!!
I came with my friends a few months ago, but to this day, I still think of the meal we had and the memories we made here. Although I’ve eaten Chinese food all my life, the dishes at Tao’s were so unique and equally delicious in their own way. I truly have never had a meal that was this flavorful, homey, yet addicting! Love love love
This place is so good I almost don't want to tell you 😂, but I love when my local spots blow up so here we go. If you're into traditional Chinese dishes this is the best spot in the area hands down. They also have your more Americanized menu options too if people in your party enjoy that. This is a Husband/Wife team doing everything meaning wait times can be a little longer so don't go if you're in a rush or too impatient to wait for delicious food! Toothpick lamb, whole szechuan fish, dumplings, Steam/sauteed bok choy/spinach, Crispy duck, soup noodles and braised beef, Shrimp griddle have been some of the favorites. Whether date night with my partner or with a group of 10+ it's been delicious everytime. The owners definitely know what they are doing and are great hosts.
By far one of the best authentic Chinese Restaurants on the east coast. Normally we would go to the city for great authentic Chinese food but not anymore. Have patience and be respectful, it will pay off. Your energy will get reflected back to you no matter the place you go to. Food and service are top notch!
I have been here twice now, and had 2 very different dishes. This is by far now my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is simply amazing. The staff (Anita) is so nice, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about food/cooking. I would absolutely recommend trying this restaurant.
Best Chinese food in Middletown. Always fresh, always great service. Ambiance for dining in is a bit awkward (old decorations from previous restaurant, no real finesse or point of view with the layout, lights are too bright, etc...but the service is good and makes up for whatever strangeness is found in the ambiance. Would definitely recommend. Maybe order takeout and skip the odd dining room.
Great food. The braised pork joint with brown sauce was so nicely cooked!! The sauce was perfect too. The winter melon and pork belly soup was great as well. LARGE PORTIONS! The soup was about a quart and a half for an idea.. The crispy duck wasn’t very crispy but that’s ok. The pan fried pork dumplings 🥟 were awesome- and the brown vinegar only made them better. They DEFINITELY need more staff. It took over an hour just to get our dumplings but it’s the Chinese New Year so they were busy. Great place but I will wait for them to figure out their services before I go back. Maybe I’ll try lunch one day when I don’t expect it to be so busy bc the food IS VERY GOOD!
I never thought there’d be Chinese food like this up in Orange County. The food was great and the prices are very reasonable. This is not your regular “beef with broccoli” spot. The food is very authentic, but like I said, REALLY good.
Tao's is by far THE best Chinese food in our area. The dishes are authentic. If Chinese food was never a favorite of yours, I think Tao's will change your mind. It did mine! The food is so delicious. The owners are very welcoming and attentive. We highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
This place has great food. It has a mixture of authentic Chinese food and your basic American Chinese food. The service was good and the waitress was very nice. This is now my favorite Chinese restaurant in Middletown.
The best Chinese outside NYC. The service is a bit slow - but in a good way. The kind of slow that makes you put your phone down to chat with the table across the room from you, the kind of slow that builds anticipation of something special to come. The kind of slow we don't appreciate anymore, slow in the best ways. The appearance inside is understated and functional, always comfortable though. The food is always fresh, hot, perfectly seasoned and unique. We love the dumplings and egg rolls to start, the egg rolls are wrapped in a CUHRISPPPYY wrap with delicate flavorful cabbage, herbs and the like. The dumpling are steamed delicately and served simply with a dark tangy dip which is a perfect compliment to the fatty pork. The usual offerings like General Tso's and Orange Chicken are beyond standard, the sauces are handmade without layers of cornstarch and MSG. Outstanding. Try the slushes - you can thank me later. Tao's is a hidden gem that I am glad we found. It's gotten better each time we've gone. 😎
Tao’s is absolutely outstanding. My wife and I just stopped in for the first time and will certainly be back! The food is fantastic and portions are huge, definitely not your standard take out Chinese food. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great authentic Chinese meal
The BEST Chinese food in Middletown and the surrounding area. Truly a gem for both dine in and take out. Our favorites are the Chinese eggplant, beef with scallions, and the crispy duck but we’ve loved everything from here. Highly recommend!!
A stand-out place with better ingredients and amazing dishes. The staff are super friendly and go above and beyond every time we visit. If you like crispy duck this is an especially good place to visit, but everything I've had so far was wonderful. Highly recommend.
Best sit down chinese restaurant in area. Good food, good portions and good price. Staff is friendly.
Stopped in for an early dinner and had a very good experience. Food and service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and in good condition. Staff was friendly and courteous. Would definitely make it a regular if lived in the area.
They have Chinese American dishes at the back of the menu, but the real gold is the traditional menu. You normally have to go down to Mott street to find these dishes. Great food. Update: Came back a second time. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!!!
Like others have said Hidden Gem. I don't knock the service and atmosphere to discourage you not to go just for honesty. The Atmosphere is clean, respectable, perfectly fine but nothing to write home about--who cares! The service too is fine but there seems to be only the two of them so since neither can duplicate themselves, occasionally you wait--more often you wait at door. But she is perfectly nice. VERY proud of her food as she shoould be. Lamb with cumin superb. Mapoo tofu, lovely, all the grilled meats also great. Eggplant I liked. A-chai and Lettuce just wonderful flavors for vegetables. Go here. It is wonderful.
This food makes you feel like you’re experiencing something special and rivals many of the restaurants in NYC. Plus, the boba is so tasty, made with fresh fruit and not too sweet. Additionally they offer cooking classes and wonderful hospitality :)
This place has the absolute best Chinese food and when I say Chinese food I'm talking about authentic Chinese food if that's what you're looking for you need to come here and check it out for yourself you will not be disappointed. They also offer cooking classes where you can learn to cook this type of food for yourself and you get to take home what you make
Great place to have authentic Chinese cuisine. Service is personable. Everything we've tried was fantastic. It's ran by limited staff, not a bad thing because same chef cooks all the time so quality is consistent. If you want to try hotpot, I recommend giving them a call ahead so they can prepare. Great place for both lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
Easily the best Asian food in Middletown, arguably the best food in middletown period. The highest quality ingredients, an incredible chef. I’ve been coming here since the pandemic and always look forward to it. Highly recommend the sweet and sour ribs.
The food was so good! Great quality ingredients. They are doing dining in and take out. The inside is simple but comforting. We were not feeling adventurous enough to try the traditional dishes so we opted for the classic American Chinese entrees. Which did not disappoint. Highly recommend the crab puffs, General Tso, beef and broccoli, and Thai Iced Tea. The waitress was friendly and welcoming. Next time we will try one of their traditional dishes. We will be coming back.
I order takeout regularly, very consistent and flavorful, no doubt the best tasting general tso chicken I’ve ever had.
My boyfriend celebrated his birthday at the restaurant last week, and was extremely happy about every dish and the super nice owner. He said he will remember this meal for a long time and will definitely come back. Best Chinese restaurant in Orange county.
They didn't go all out on furniture and decor but the attention to food and value is unmatched. "American Chinese" food options are available, but the traditional Chinese dishes are where it's at. The $8 soup can serve four and was amazing. We ordered way too much because we wanted to try everything... And ended up eating it all. Going back! (They told us you need to give them 2+ hours notice if you want the hot pot, serves 2-5+)
This place beats 99% restaurants in Flushing. You don’t even find this authentic and traditional Chinese flavors in China these days. Never thought I would find a place like this in the mountains. Come and try before the chef/owner retire and it will make your day, guaranteed!
The food here is OUTSTANDING! I live right around the corner and it’s by far the best Chinese restaurant in this area. Try the shrimp hot pot. Very impressed with the presentation and if you enjoy a little spice then give that a shot. They have the traditional Chinese dishes that you normally get in other Chinese takeout places, however even those choices are cooked differently then what you usually get around here. Both Anita and Wilson (the owners) are really nice and friendly. Go with a big appetite. You won’t be disappointed!!
My go-to place for Chinese food. I love their food!!!! The owner is friendly and personable. The prices are reasonable. I have only ordered takeout here so I don’t know what the dining in experience is, but their takeout is fresh and delicious.
Have eaten here many times, and the food is always phenomenal. Truly authentic szechuan dishes, fresh food! Also the kimchi is much better than the ones you can find at hmart.
So, after many years of driving past this place, this weekend, I decided to stop in. Man, am I glad I did! The look of the restaurant isn't really all that appealing, but wow, the food is really good! We ordered egg rolls, chinese buns, pork and chives dumplings, spicy shrimp, and veggies (fried), and the star of the show, the duck! The egg rolls were crispy yet moist with a nice flavor. I cut it in two pieces, and you can feel the crispy shell and see the steam coming off the cabbage filling! The chinese buns were nicely made. They were basically churros without the sugar, I enjoyed them very much! The pork and chives dumplings were delicious! It was quite a delicate flavor on their own, but coupled with their soy sauce, the flavor picked up a couple of notches. The soy sauce seemed different from what I'm used to. It seemed to have a little more of a vinegar finish; it was different but pleasant. The spicy shrimp and veggies, all fried, was quite enjoyable. It is spicy, so your enjoyment of this dish will depend on your tolerance. I thought the flavor profile was quite nice. One thing of note, for me anyway, I would prefer a bit less dough on the shrimp itself, but overall, a good dish. Lastly, the star of the show for me at least was the duck. This dish was spectacular for me! It was incredibly crispy and fatty seasoned to perfection! I had it with white rice, and I touched it with a bit of duck sauce for that sweetness, and it was just incredible! Needless to say, I'll be ordering it again. Overall, this is a family restaurant offering authentic Chinese food with a quiet atmosphere. It's kid friendly and should be on your list for a visit.
This is a true hidden gem in middletown, the place advertises as authentic Chinese cuisine, from my experience, the food is great, it’s definitely not your typical take out Chinese place. One thing I can say to improve on is the lack of staff - we entered the place and we had to look for the staff to assist us, they’re all in the back kitchen and front was left unattended. From first picture : Fish in clay pot , double cooked pork, and fish griddle.
Tao's is a hidden gem Chinese restaurant specializing in Szechuan style. Really good for being in a small rural area. The couple running the place are very friendly and provide helpful suggestions. Seems to be just the two of them running the place but service was fairly efficient. The food was good, I especially liked the Szechuan dishes like ma Po tofu and spicy lamb dishes, they have a nice balance of spice with the peppercorns and cumin.
I am really happy to have found this place. It was very authentic and definitely didn’t have the Chinese takeout feel that most Middletown Chinese restaurants have. Everyone eating here tonight was Chinese, always a good sign, and the menu had a lot of great and authentic options. The prices are reasonably set and the service was fast and very friendly. We got the pork chive dumplings (fantastic!), the ground beef tofu dish (I can’t remember what it was called on the menu- it was good), the sesame chicken (good but I’ll get something else next time!) and the water spinach (a great side!). Looking forward to coming back and trying the hot pot which you have to reserve two hours in advance.
Ordered a few items for take out just to sample this restaurant. Fried dumplings, chicken low mein, and hot and sour soup. Not bad. I will try this place again.
The customer service was ok. The restaurant is understaffed. 1 hour wait and the waitress is telling us you food is just being made now. The owner is nice though. The food is good though. Prepare to wait though.
Food is very spicy which I like. It is Shechuan/Hunan. As such can be very oily. I eat it but don't much care for so much oil. They don't have a lunch menu. The dinner portions don't have enough protein to be worth $5 dollars more than other Chinese restaurants. At the end of the day, either you like it or not. I come there sporadically because I like their hot and sour soup which is very peppery.
Don't walk, run to this place. Food is great, would be packed if in a more populated area. Husband and wife show. Service is ot overly attentive but just ask and it's fine very non chalant. A cut above, could eat there three times a week and not be bored.
Tasty Food. They actually have pork Buns and Crispy Duck which you can't really find up here. Their steamed dumplings and PF Rice however don't have the same flavor you would traditionally find. Just a heads up on that. Good food. Highly recommend scallion pancakes. Take out takes long btw.
We love Sichuan food. We went to Tao's for dinner and enjoyed the dishes we ordered- a chicken dish, a lamb dish, and a beef dish. They were all tasty. We also tried their fried rice, which was also quite good. The only thing that was disappointing was that with all those dishes, their policy is that they don't include white rice with any of them. This is unusual and frankly, petty. Every one of these dishes, except the fried rice of course, should come with white rice as an included accompaniment. How else are you supposed to eat it? Not a big deal, but petty. Also, not a big deal to include it. Rice is still quite cheap as a filler. Then I was told that they would only give us one rice at a time (we were two people) even though we're paying for it. Why? So We can't take home leftovers? SMH. The portion sizes could have been a little bigger for the price, but I'm more annoyed at their pettiness than the portion size. Service was friendly, the dining room was spacious. There is a small parking lot in the front (not sure about additional parking in the back, etc.)
Had take out for the first time here. I chose this place to try the Hot & Sour soup as a reviewer mentioned it was very good. And it was one of the best Hot & Sour soups I've had in Orange county. I like it spicy & flavorful and it didn't disappoint. The freshly fried noodles were a bonus. I'll be back for more.
Have eaten here before and the food was good. We went Sunday and they got my order wrong. They gave me pork instead of chicken. They were very rude about them messing the order up. Also tasted as someone new was making the food. Definitely putting this place on a timeout.
Only one waitress, everything took a long time. The food had potential like the taste was there but it was either too salty, too spicy or too oily. It's a shame too because the food was fresh and didn't taste frozen.
One waitress and one cook. Went with several couples. When last couple got meal, first two couples finished dinner. Not typical Chinese restaurant. Small serving of fried rice 11.00. My meal was good but chicken too crispy. Disappointed cause I would have loved a good Chinese restaurant locally. Would not go again because of service and attitude of waitress
Decent place, nice server. But wouldn’t recommend the Americanized styled dishes like lo mein. Noodles were over cooked and not the thick kind, seemed liked they used the same type or noodles for every noodle dish they have. The dumplings are really good though. Wouldn’t recommend to a native Chinese person.
The other reviews with more than three stars are fake. I am giving two stars because it was hot. Ordered general tso chicken and another dish and was very disappointed. I will not return to this restaurant nor do I recommend anyone that regularly enjoys Chinese food from local restaurants in the area to eat here. The flavor on the dishes was very off. Just not good….
Uf, the food here was rough. We were SO excited to come here because we had heard it was authentic Szechuan, but the three dishes we tried were just as flabby and nondescript as the stuff you find in a mall foodcourt. Everything was overcooked, the sauces were really bland, and the egg rolls were so greasy the oil was literally pooling up and pouring everywhere (even after we towel-dried them!). We only ordered veggie and seafood dishes, and the woman who took our order expressed great disdain for anything not containing chicken/pork/beef, so perhaps they just don't put any effort into their non-meat dishes. Very sad, we were really ready to love this place. :(
Our first time here wasn't a good experience. We ordered three entrees to share. The house rice and the house lo mein came out first. The chicken dish was brought out 20 minutes later!! We thought they forgot, but was told there was only one cook. The portions were small and the service terrible. I would never recommend this place and surely won't be back.
The waiters here are like crazy people. They force you to do things you don't want to do and direct you. I have never encountered such a thing. I normally called to order food without saying anything impolite, but the waiter was rude and accused me of speaking impolitely? And ask me to say please trouble and thank you before ordering every dish. If you are unwilling to do business, you may not do it. No one is more noble than no one. When I hung up, the man called me again. It was terrible!
Food was good, but I won't be back anymore. The service was TERRIBLE and RUDE that we had not asked for the bill, but we got bill during the meal. The waitress pushed us to finish eating. I don't recommend this place to anyone!
I will give 3 star for the cook. Give -5🤬to the waitress, she is impolite, rude, angry and accused middletown people are lazy, nobody wants to work. She was mad me and my friends split the bill, because she never hase to done that even I already helped her figure it out, write it down. She is so far I have met the worst service in any restaurantI will never return!
I would give a three star to the meals. However, the owner, as well as the ONLY waitress, and also the Only person who is in charge of taking out orders in this restaurant, is acting super rude and has a very nasty attitude. Long waiting time. Poor customer service.
The worst service I have even seen. My toddler was laughing at the restaurant and the staff said, keep quiet and don’t bother other clients. I told them we are clients as well. And he answered, OK. Don’t eat. I couldn’t believe his answer was so rude and uneducated. I don’t recommend anyone to eat there.
Cadillac Escalade always parked in handicap space out front is very off-putting. When attracting customers may be a good idea to open up the entrance a little more to give customers the idea of actually stopping in to see what they have to offer, it’s ok keep trying.
Went to order take out. Stood in take out area...no one came...rang large bell...no one came...went into eat-in restaurant area...(only two tables occupied)...no wait staff seen...no greeting...nothing...went into bar area--closer to kitchen area...no bartender...no one...lingered there for several minutes...then left. Unbelievable!
Extremely slow and inattentive service. Dirty plates piled up on nearby tables. And a tattered American flag outside. Very disrespectful. Disgusting on all fronts.
My family and I really don't understand why this restaurant 'deserves' its current rating. It would be absolute madness. The Lady/manager/owner is not only rude and disrespectful, but she's condescending to customers. We asked our food to be less salty and she said she has no control of it and it is all on the kitchen. Food was mediocre. I would highly NOT recommend coming here and spend your money elsewhere.
I don't understand why this restaurant has received excellent reviews. Both of the owners are quite unfriendly, especially the female boss who also serves as the only waitress; her behavior was insulting. The restroom is dirty, the equipment is old, and there is a pungent smell; it seems like it hasn't been cleaned for years, which raises concerns about the restaurant's hygiene. Overall, dining at this restaurant was a very unpleasant experience, and I have no desire to return.
I will preface this by saying that up until this latest visit, this was our favorite Chinese food place in Orange County. We've eaten here at least two dozen times. I can no longer recommend this place as they care more about their “no bottle” policy than serving longtime customers who require a reasonable accommodation due to a medical condition. They told us a member of our party who suffers from CKD that couldn't have their water bottle, only babies could. We explained this and they said, "only babies". LOL okay, excuse me but your business is not being hurt by someone with a condition carrying their own filtered water with them.
