Had run an errand in the area, was hungry, did a search and came here. Frankly, we weren't expecting much--it is a sports bar attached to a hotel. When we walked in, the hostess was on the phone, talking with someone about a position at the restaurant (she didn't smile or acknowledge that we or the man in front of us had entered). She wasn't particularly welcoming when she got around to seating us. However, the menu was eclectic and it turned out that the food was fantastic! The chicken matzo ball soup was very fresh tasting--nice broth, fresh celery, carrots, and shredded chicken. The latkes were outstanding--thin, crisp shredded potatoes with HOUSEMADE apple sauce of diced apples (not the jarred stuff). Another fabulous dish was the tombo tuna poke with housemade rice crackers (the only downside was the price--it was expensive for a smallish serving). I didn't take pictures because I wasn't expecting much but it was a great experience. I've put Floodwater on my list to go back to whenever we are in the area.

Absolutely great spot for F&B and football! Wings sliders & club were excellent. Large TVs & private dining options left & right of main room. We stopped after a day in Mill Valley / Muir Woods. Staying at a floating house boat & Would return in a heartbeat

Such a delicious burger after a long hike. The French fries were perfection and the onion rings were spectacular

The brownie sundae with peanut butter swirl ice cream, chocolate, caramel and crushed peanuts is easily one of the best desserts in Marin. Consistently friendly service. Large space with a mix of people dressed up on dates and chill families having dinner. One of the only good spots for watching a sporting event in Mill Valley. Large varied menu so anyone can find some food and drinks they will enjoy. Parking can be a bit challenging when they are busy. I’ll keep returning and recommending as a good place to meet friends.

After a long day of traveling from the Midwest to the West Coast this was just what we needed. We are in a very laid back part of the restaurant on leather sofas and a big screen. Our server Michael was amazing, attentive and very friendly. The food was AMAZING from the pork belly buns, flat iron steak to the wagyu burger. I highly recommend !!

We went for date night and they had us tucked away in a little corner. It was great vibes and excellent service! You won't regret the French dip sando. I wanted another but it wouldn't fit!!!

I was honestly not expecting much when we pulled into Floodwater's parking lot and saw it was part of a Holiday Inn Express, but we were hungry, it was on our way home, and it was getting late and other restaurants had closed. When we walked in there were lots of kids running around the pool table area but we were glad the hostess sat us closer to the bar where the vibe was chill. The beet salad was surprisingly good, the Reuben sandwich was rather bland but there was a generous amount of meat, and the garlic fries seemed to be fresh made. The service was by far the part that made the experience excellent! I started choking on a bite of pickle. Our waiter, Gabriel, was taking the order from another table and noticed i was in distress and that my partner was concerned. He immediately came over ready to administer the Heimlich maneuver but also checked with me calmly to see what help I needed. When I was able to breath again on my own, Gabriel made sure I was ok and quickly returned to helping the other table. He checked on me two other times before we paid our bill, including refilling the hot water for my tea, making sure I was ok but also having some good humor which helped me feel less awkward. Thank you for the wonderful service, Gabriel!

I have been here about 5 or 6 times now. Happy hour is fantastic. Great menu with a few of their signature drinks on it. The regular menu is also very impressive and updated regularly. If you went to just the restaurant you would have no idea this place was attached to a hotel let alone a holiday inn. If you are stopping by, the gold rush drink and the Vietnamese wings are a must! I also had their chicken which was prepared with a Tika masala sauce and an exquisite saffron pistachio rice. Honestly, I think Gorden Ramsey would be proud of how well that chicken was cooked and the super crispy skin it had. My fiancée orders the steak and frites every time and the consistency of how well the steak is cooked is truly impressive. Also some of the best fries in Marin.

Situated adjacent to a popular hotel and main thoroughfare, this rustic themed restaurant caters to both a diverse clientele and regular locals. Like other nearby places, the atmosphere is sleepy but upbeat through their service. Bartenders Josh and (Eric?) were very kind, and tentative. I recommend this place to all who visit Mill Valley and Sausalito area.

We just celebrated our son's birthday at Floodwater, on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was not lacking and we had the best evening. Our server could not have been any more patient and friendly with us, as we had a group of excited boys and he was so sweet to them as we took forever to order. The food tasted great, the drinks were delicious and the energy in the restaurant was lively and fun. We had an ice cream cake, which they were able to keep for us in their freezer (we didn't arrange this in advance!) and brought it out with candles lit. They took the cake back to slice it for us. Floodwater is a great place to watch a sports game, and to celebrate a special event. Excited to go again!

I don't know why this is mixed with old floodwater reviews. Tam Tavern is much improved. Burger is a double smash burger with perfectly fried fries. Excellent and good sized (not the teeny tiny floodwater one). Veggie shepherd pie was a very good version. Filling and tasty. Beer, of course, is great.

I am from out of town. Stopped in to watch the Steelers game. Pleased to see they had the NFL package. And, some Steelers fans! I had a couple of Bo Pils beers, excellent! The hummus was fantastic. The pita bread was toasted perfectly. The chicken tortilla soup was some of the best I ever had, except there was no chicken in it. But, the broth was genuinely some of the best broth in a soup I’ve ever had. Home made. Not overly salty. Pretzels were filling and delicious, the mustard sauces were perfect, especially the stone ground mustard.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn next door so we stopped in for a pizza & drinks. We also tried the Calamari and pierogies and everything was delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was really friendly and provided good service. The food was served hot and quickly.

Marin's premier sports bar experience awaits you at this incredible establishment! With TV screens strategically placed for optimum viewing pleasure, including outdoor seating, you won't miss a moment of the action. The food selection is simply outstanding, offering a wide variety of mouthwatering options. During my recent visit for lunch, I was blown away by the exceptional quality. I'm already planning to return for future sports games or casual hangouts with friends to enjoy more of their delectable dishes and refreshing drinks. Personally, I highly recommend trying their fantastic pizza with spicy sausage, as well as the delightful warm winter salad with chicken.

Really cool place with a cool vibe!! Loved all of the billiards, darts, shuffle board etc. Great place to watch sports on the many big TVs. Good beer and food! The cheeseburger was great and the wings. However, the bbq burger was too tall for my husband to eat and it got very messy! He would have preferred the regular cheeseburger.

The fried sweet pickles were crispy and so delicious. They were a hit with the whole family. The kids wagyu burgers were a nice size. My two kids under 8 could have shared a burger and fries. The atmosphere is quiet. There are many different seating options including a bar and lounge with sofas. The food was pretty good overall, portions could have been a bit bigger for the price. They have a shuffle board table, darts and a pool table. They also have happy hour so keep an eye out for that!

Chicken matzo ball soup is the best! Deviled egg is pretty good & pretty. Reuben is good but very big. Update: went there again & again & every time there was something new. Squash lasagna was amazing & surprisingly light; grilled spawns were very tasty.

If you are familiar with Betelnut, a beloved Asian Fusion restaurant from the Marina, you will have a deeper understanding of the creative menu at Floodwater, because the head chef was in the Betelnut kitchen. From pizza to Asian wings to matzo balls, the menu is a global tour. Floodwater is part sports bar, part culinary adventure, in a good way. The bar is long, very long, and if you enjoy (as I do) sitting at the bar to eat, Floodwater is perfect. There are lots of different kinds of seating, from high tables to booths, a lounge, a pool table area and outdoor patio.

Great place to catch a game and have good food. A lot of beers on tap with the option to fill a pitcher, which was also a welcome choice. Parking can be tricky depending on time of day; we ended up parking in the hotel parking only section and the hotel was ok w it.

Great outdoor patio with heat lamps to keep diners warm. Servers were friendly and food arrived promptly. House salad was made with fresh ingredients, with a flavorful vinegrette. Pizza had a nice chewy crust and ingredients are good. Wagyu burger was perfectly cooked and loaded with toppings. Fried were crispy and pipping hot. Great spot to grab a quick bite, or to enjoy the game

My young son and I were stranded today when our car was caught in a flood and stuck in deep water. My son hungry, cold and wet and we walked to Tam Tavern where he received an extra large portion of French fries for free before we had to go wait on the tow truck to arrive. You don’t find that kind of kind-hearted generosity often these days. For the record, my son said that they were his favorite fries he’s ever had and our family will absolutely return to dine for a full meal in the very near future. The gentleman (possibly the owner) was such a lovely individual. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, it smelled delicious and everyone seemed to be having such a great time inside. Can’t wait to return and they likely have a regular customer in our family now for life. A little kindness goes a long way, thank you again! 🙏😊

The service was great. The food was good. I love the fish plate I order. My niece and friend shared a chicken sandwich but they did not liked it. My brother ordered a special pizza and everyone had some. It was delicious. All the entree's were very good, we order and shared about 4. the desert were good specifically the creme brulee and the chi cheese cake. I will go back again.

Our server was pleasant and accommodating, we really enjoyed the Portobello Steamed Bun appetizer. I loved my Salmon dish but my other two diners were not as satisfied with the chicken sandwich or the meat pizza they ordered. My friend compared the chicken sandwich to Chickfila and not a good representation. Not sure what my husband disliked about the pizza but it was obvious it wasn't his style based on how he picked at it. I was happy with everything and would come back for more.

My husband and I were staying next door at the Holiday inn so we wandered over for dinner. Thankfully they were able to squeeze us in on a busy Friday night. Food was good, though my husband's burger was kind of dry and bland. The latkes were good. Wanted to try more small plates but they seemed a bit expensive. Love that they have some mocktails on the menu, the pineapple spritz was great.

Went to Floodwater for the first time to meet an old friend. We sat at the bar so the service - especially considering it was a slow Weds night - was very good. Got a couple beers and caught up with my old buddy. When it came time to order, I was really jonesing for a burger. In fact, I had found the restaurant on a Marin website list for best burger. I ordered the burger. I would say it was just OK. The meat pattie was a touch too thick, too dense, not juicy enough, and had a bit too much char for my tastes. It was of the size where you have to cram it into your face and open your mouth very wide. I did appreciate that it was a classic burger with your standard condiments - not some over the top BS that takes away from the burger. The Kennebec fries were excellent and abundant. I may go back and try some other dishes. My friends hummus/cheese app thing looked good. I ordered the burger Med which perhaps was a mistake as it was probably MW. Hard to know if the line cook is going to over cook it or get it right. In this case it was overcooked and had that "char taste" going on. In any case, nice place, dark, good for meeting a friend or meeting a date or even taking the wife. Has sports bar vibes with a few TVs but I would not call it a sports bar. Prices more or less what you would expect in pricey Marin county. I would recommend the line chef stop in at Tam Commons in San Rafael. They really know how to do a burger there. It's always juicy, the perfect thickness, with good flavor. Now, if Tam Commons would just give you a decent portion of fries instead of skimping out - Floodwater gives you practically an entire plate of excellent fries. ok, I'm out.

Lots of options on the menu, which was veryyyy convenient! Server was friendly, and the restaurant itself was nice! Perfect atmosphere for families or groups of friends. The sliders we ordered were very good, however the garlic fries were soggy and dissapointing (no garlic taste). Mexican Salad was ok (meat was good) but lots of leaves and not too many toppings. Overall our experience was good!!

R

Really liked the Salsiccia pizza, pretzels were also good too. It did seem a bit pricey, but considering it was walking distance from our stay at the Holiday Inn it was with not having to drive. The real standout was Steven's amazing service, he was friendly and attentive which was an especially nice change considering and of the more lackluster service we've received at other places in the Bay area. We'll definitely be back if we're in the area again!

First time going with wife since it was Flood Water. Food a solid 4. Server we had very good. As far as atmosphere, a bit loud and waaaay too many young screaming kids playing and running around for a “Tavern”. We arrived at our reset time of 630pm and at 720pm a hostess walked up while we were still enjoying our drink and told us he needed the table for another person. We were a bit taken aback that table needed to be turned in under 50 minutes. We cancelled our drink order and the waiter apologized but covered the drink and gave it to go. On the way out my wife spoke with Alicia the manager to advise what happened and she said their hostess was wrong and sincerely apologized. After we left, I got a voicemail from Alicia again apologizing and told us she would cover our meal. This was very nice and therefore rated a 4 star rather than a 1 or 2. My think this place might be fun so long as it does turn into a glorified pizza parlor with screaming kids running around. Just my opinion.

It was fine. It's a little pricey for typical bar fare and it's not like the food was super high quality. It took a while for anyone working behind the bar to even acknowledge us, let alone give us menus. Once we finally got our menus, it's like suddenly we were visible and a bartender came over to take our orders, about ten seconds after we got them. The food is just okay and a little on the expensive side. $18 for a hamburger and french fries that probably cost them no more than a $1 to actually make is a little ridiculous. If it was like top quality ground beef, sure. This was probably your basic chuck. The fries had basically no flavor, which is a little mind boggling. I could see that they were seasoned, they just didn't have any flavor to them. The baos were actually pretty good. The bread was soft and warm and the filling wasn't bad. The cocktail and beer prices are about standard for a bar in the Bay area, so no real complaints there. All in all, it was a rather forgettable experience and perfect for being paired with Holiday Inn. It's somewhere you go because it's not really possible to go anywhere else and everything is just ho hum and generic. Absolutely nothing about this place stands out.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. They definitely took good care of us and made sure I got a fully vegan meal. I also liked the sports bar atmosphere; it was a fun vibe! I will say the truffle fries were a lot oilier than I had elsewhere, I will order something else next time. The sausage pizza (made vegan without sausage and with vegan cheese) was oily too but good overall and loved the vegan cheese.

Low quality food at expensive prices. The food tasted of soap and nothing felt clean. Wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t overpriced. We forced ourselves to eat our poor tasting food because of the high price

18 April 2025 - weird asked by two different hosts if I was door dash or Uber eats, maybe because I was alone... But weird. Nice enough place, decent atmosphere, conveniently right next to my hotel. Once sat, after a short while I ordered a drink and an appetizer and explained my intent to order an entree later. That was theast time I didn't have to flag someone down for service. Flagged down my waiter -according to my receipt "Bairon P" to order a second drink and my entree at about 40 minutes. After another 40 minutes I had to flag him down again to ask if my order has been put in and he gave me a weird story about how they tried to give to another table and couldn't remember who ordered what, no apologies just " do you still want to order?" I ordered and the food came out about 1p minutes later. Good, but small portion on the petrale sole. Had to flag him down again 20 minutes later to pay. Then explained that the discount for being a guest wasn't subtracted and was told it was my fault for not reminding him. Refused to do anything about it, just said maybe next time they'll take care of it if it remind the.. The end. Take it for what it's worth, but that's trash service.

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of 4 people and would like to share my experience, so maybe it reaches owners / management . We ordered 4 non-shareable meals and 4 drinks, and after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, only two dishes arrived. We waited for the rest of our food but it never came, so two of us proceeded to eat our dishes while they were still warm. The third food order arrived eventually, and luckily it was a pizza that two others of us could share. However, we had to remind our waitress about the missing fourth order, which finally arrived much later. To make matters worse, only 3 out of 4 drinks arrived, and we had to ask for the fourth one which came after our fourth food order. The only saving grace were pizzas which were actually quite good, but it's not worth putting up with the not adequate service and wait times and 4% employees surcharge on top of taxes and expected tip …

I really like Floodwater, but put one star just so you know not to order the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I usually get the Reuben, which is far and away the best Reuben in Marin since Max’s closed down in Corte Madera. I had steak last night though, so opted for their (new?) fried chicken sando that I hadn’t seen before. This is not like any “crispy fried chicken” that you would be expecting. It is pan fried in chili powder, and then it appears as though they decided to add bread and butter pickle slices to it to sweeten up the nasty taste. I will keep returning for the Reuben and the Margherita pizza with extra cheese and the Wagyu Cheese Burgers which are all at least four stars, but I wasn’t able to finish this new fare.
