The staff is very friendly and the food is really good. It sucks that I don't live anywhere near this place to keep going back. Also, that im not in the area to get the pizza at some point because, man, those looked liked the would be very tasty.
Another hidden gem! Stumbled across this on our trip and it did not disappoint! Staff was friendly and quick when it came to ordering. The margherita pizza and bigfoot fries were amazing!! Love love loved the pizza sauce and the pulled pork on the fries-yuuuum! So so good, love the theme of this place and how it felt like you were right at home with the people.
Wife and I were visiting the area and stopped here to have a couple drinks while waiting for the restaurant next door to open. We ended up talking with the server (owners daughter) and the owner who was slinging homemade pizzas. We decided to get a pizza there and we didn’t regret it. We were on a week long trip down the 101 and this was by far our best dining experience. Owner even let us try his new honey sauce on our pizza. Definitely check this place out.
We have eaten two meals at the Cafe. One lunch in the fall of 2021 and lunch spring of 2022. Both meals were wonderful. There was a recent ownership change, but the new owners appear to be continuing the awesome service. The most recent lunch there we got there a bit before they opened. We were invited to sit on the porch and were served coffee and tea while they got ready to open. Very nice service, Thanks. Now Aug 2025. Had lunch again on our way north. I am pleased to report all is still well at the Avenue cafe.
I'm a SKEPTIC when it comes to restaurants and GOOD FOOD these days! Living in my new rural area, finding GREAT food has become a little challenging. Great place to be ... delicious food and friendly employees. Additional a heartwarming atmosphere ... I felt not only like a costumer, no, I was part of a big family. I will come back. And by the way ... the pizza I ate with pineapple on it was a highlight. The kitchen is open to see what the people there are creating. Nice to watch ... they are all high professional.
I love this place, the food is great, the service is always on point, inside and outside seating. If you have a dog you can sit outside with your pup. I'm local and most the time order to go but the food is always good and they always get my extra requests. Love the pizzas, calzones, turkey pesto sandwich, Bigfoot fries and so much more. I'll have to update when I take some more photos. Foods almost always ready within 30 minutes or less depending on what you're ordering.
Family owned restaurant. The husband was so cool. We came in and he was throwing pizza dough. We asked for some of the dishes they recommended and everything they recommend was awesome. The tuna melt, the pizza it was all great. Pizza crust was really good. I was very surprised to find such good food around here. Overall the people were just so friendly we sat at the bar and enjoyed talking to the locals.
We had lunch at the Avenue Cafe' on a weekday in June 2023. You could sit inside or outside. Unfortunately when we arrived, the outside area was full. So we didn't get to choose. We ordered sandwiches and a drink. The food came out fairly quickly. But I do question the brand of deli meat used. It wasn't bad, but wasn't all that good either. Now I don't want to insinuate that the food isn't good. Only that we didn't really like our sandwiches all that much. Yes we ate them. I want to think had we ordered something else, we might have been a little more impressed. But unfortunately, we both ordered the same thing. The cafe did have a great atmosphere and music that we enjoyed. So for the most part, we really enjoyed our lunch. Just not the lunch part so much.
Quirky cafe along the Avenue of the Giants. We took advantage of their outdoor seating to take in the views and smell of the redwoods. We were both torn between two dishes, the Bigfoot Fries and their special of the day which was a pesto chicken sandwich. Definitely should have both got the fries. The pork was perfectly cooked and flavorful, they didn't skimp on the toppings at all. And the portion was huge. The sandwich was nothing special, the meat was a bit chewy and it could have used a lot more pesto. We both got Shirley Temples as well, the cherrys were huge! I'm assuming it was some type of maraschino cherry, but tasted so much better. I usually don't like them, but I had to take a bite of this huge thing and ended up eating the whole thing. Definitely had small town vibes, but the staff were kind and helpful.
I was happy to find a nice cafe with good food in a area with limited places to eat and stopped in three times for dinner. The cafe specializes in pizza and calzones with a menu that includes burgers, pasta, sandwiches, soup, and salad. I reviewed the menu and selected spaghetti with two meatballs, and a blueberry smoothie. The meatballs were a separate charge at $5.50 for each one. It took over twenty minutes for my order to arrive on a busy Monday. The spaghetti and meatballs had good taste and were not overcooked, with a sauce that was flavorful. I returned the next night and had a Bigfoot Junior Burger with bacon, pulled pork, and a one-third pound patty. The burger has a nice flavor with the combination of the meats. The food is a little expensive and the meatballs were a separate charge. Located on the Avenue of the Giants in Miranda with a statue of Bigfoot in front. A nice place to stop for a bite to eat with friendly service, good food, and a fun atmosphere with a Bigfoot theme.
Walked in after a long drive through the Avenue of the Giants and we're looking forward to sitting down for a hot meal while it was warm and ok it was roughly about on par with Olive Garden if not a step below in regards to quality of food. My ravioli was barely warm clearly hadn't been heated enough out of the box and their soup of the day wasn't even made in house. Our waitress (black hair, hoop earrings) didn't smile once and had no interest in talking to us about the food other normalities. The music and aesthetics inside were nice though.
