I had never been here. I had a burger with avocado bacon tomatoes...great burger not greasy cooked just right bun not hard does not fall apart, fries are really good not greasy you do have to put your own salt but who cares! Best shakes 😋 a lot of flavors. Employees are super nice outside tables are nice. Very clean! It got busy! Go try them!

Pictures don't do justice. This place is a little whole in the wall, but there good had always been phenomenal. We always go for the burgers and fries. They cook them as you order and let me tell you they are perfect. If you like spicy, hey the knockout burger. Highly recommended, and great portion size.

This place requires way more attention - if you haven't eaten at this location do give it a try. They are consistent, portions are just perfect and the staff work in a very tight yet perfectly balanced location. Please never stop doing what you're doing.

The place is called The knockout. I ordered a knockout Burger and french fries and Mr Pib. I hadn't been there in over 25 years. I was very happy it was still there and the burger was as good as ever. Everybody should experience in at least one

I have been eating at this drivein since high school in the 60's. Their Knockout burger is the best 👌 in town. They also have the largest milkshakes around. The girls are always friendly.

Legendary - always has been and always will be. The Knock Out Burger is the ultimate….this childhood nostalgia of all Modestians is a classic in old fashioned burger joints. It is always nice to put your order in at the counter with the nice counter staff. Then grab a seat in the clean wooden benches outside in the dinning area provided. You can watch the traffic or you can get to know your neighbors with some pleasant conversation while you wait for your food. Come enjoy a great burger and fries and….milkshake…yummie! Bring your family and your appetites. Enjoy some good old fashioned family time and food. There is free parking and also the outside dinning can be wheelchair accessible if needed.

It's still the best burger since childhood! Can't beat a Knockout without extra peppers. They have to be the first to add avocado to a burger...

I don't write reviews but I've been going to knock out for 1year and haven't had one complaint. If you ever want a old fashion juicy burger with nice hot fries, knock out is the place. I recommend trying the strawberry shake. You won't be disappointed. ❤🍔🍟its a grreat place for a quick bite . Everytime i call to place an order its always ready by the time i go never a long wait . wonderful people they give good service . Has an outside dinning area its really clean my kids love it 👍

Best burger I've ever had

I stopped by for lunch, I have driven by lots of times and never stopped, I finally decided to get some lunch here and I don't regret it ! Modesto and surrounding areas has several spots that make a version of a knock out burger , this is probably the best one I had ever . I am not sure of all the ingredients that go into it ,but sure love is in there somewhere. Bacon and green Jalapeños are just some of the greatness in it . I love the amount of pepper in the burger also , its like they invented this just for me 😀 Thefe The fries where good also ,none of that fast food stuff . The seating area is so cool , this being Modesto you will enjoy watch a couple classic cars pass by . Friendly staff , clean eating area , I am sure they have lots of great burgers and other stuff, but i highly recommend you to stop by and try a knock out burger. You will not be disappointed.

Oh my goodness, Awesome food and service, with a throwback to childhood. We had a similar place in my hometown that is long gone. This was a favorite's of George Lucas' and his siblings when they were growing up and lived close by. So thrilled to have found this treasure and it did not disappoint!

Stopped in here for a little snack, Knockout Fries for a K-0!! The menu sounded wonderful Place was clean, well kept up. They support veterans(another plus in my book)The food was piping hot, cooked just right, with plenty of toppings, and the service was fast and super friendly! Bravo, great job guys! We were craving some good drive-in food and decided to walk to Scenic Drive-In. I had the Giant Cheeseburger with a small side of fries. I also had a large Orange Cream Shake. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. My wife had The Knock-Out Fries and a large soda. This is my second time coming here and I have been happy on both occasions. This is one of the very few 1950’s Modesto Drive-Ins still in existence.

You won't find a better Knockout Burger anywhere. Onion Rings are the best in town. Peanut Butter Banana shakes are just awesome... A lil pricey... But worth it

The food was decent but definitely not what it used to be. They used to have a lot more flavor and their knockout burgers were a little bit better put together. Staff wasn't as friendly as they used to be I used to work at the hospital nearby there and would have lunch there a couple times a week. Wish they would bring back the old service and food

The food was the perfect drive-in style, with homemade hamburger patty and a ll the homestyle fixings! The perfect milkshake too! Only drawback was there's only room for about 5-7 cars & it's right by a traffic heavy rood ...so be careful getting in and getting out!

Went there for the first time in over 17 years! The food was just as good now as it was then! The knock out burger was smaller than I remember but the fresh cooked made on the spot food tasted awesome as usual!! It beats any fast food places burger hands down!!! The employees were twice as friendly too! If you haven't been there GO!! You won't be sorry that you did!

Daughter didn't care for cheese burger- said too much mustard and cheese tasted like McDonald's. Garlic fries not really, and not worth $5. They use some kind of garlic sauce/oil. Proper garlic fries are fried crisp and have fresh minced garlic sautéed in a little oil with shredded parmesan (w/sometimes a little parsley or chive) sprinked on top, these are nothing like that. Stick with regular fries. Fried mushrooms ok, nothing special. Beer battered onion rings and strawberry shake were good. Pumpkin shake a bit heavy on the nutmeg. Large shake is very big, guessing 32oz. See pic

I’ve been going to this place ever since I was a child and I can definitely say I was negatively surprised. I ordered the knockout burger. I remember the patties being fresh and not frozen. And the French fries were the frozen crinkle cut kind which I didn’t really care for at all. The customer service given by the woman in the front was unfriendly and cold. They are generous with the avocado which is something I liked. Overall taking into account the price, service, and taste I will not be recommending.

This place used to be a favorite place to earth years ago when I lived in Modesto and my kids were young. They had great burgers and giant old fashioned corn dogs that rivaled the best hand dipped dogs you can find at a fair. We were passing through Modesto today and thought we'd stop by for a little local nostalgia, a bit of tasty cholesterol in the form of a big corn dog and some deep fried zucchini. Well the building is still there with many reminders of what used to be. So far, so good. Then while waiting we notice that there are several older guys sitting at various tables. Nothing weird in that except they are all sitting alone and they are all silent. Just strange in that it just all feels sort of depressed, tense. Most seem like they are possibly homeless or if not, then not far off. Who knows? There are county type services across the street. The saddest thing though is the food was not good. The corn dog breading was hot, a bit overdone but the frank itself was very undercooked and cold. Overall it was like a store bought chicken or turkey frank version found at home after being opened a few months prior and the rest left in the beat up box in the back of your freezer. The zucchini was cooked decently but flavorless. Very disappointing. Then we recalled we had already had this same exact experience, same place, same food, same results. It was only about 8 months ago. Sad

Food was expensive and awful. I don't get how this place gets any positive reviews. The ladies behind the counter were rude ( I think they are part owners) . So expensive, owners/ workers are not friendly and the food was not good. Seriously not even worth a one star.
