The staff is awesome! They have been friendly and helpful when ordering every time I go. Every. Time. And they're always smiling, too. To top it all off, their food is amazing!
You guys are so picky. it’s very clear a American Chinese restaurant, even I am Chinese, the taste of food here is excellent, you can tell the food is very fresh and good quality. Just saw a lady complaint the price, so cheap, Better go to eat McDonald’s 🙊🙊🙊
Came in today and got a few things to go and was very happy with the food we got. Nothing was overly sweet or too salty, and the food tasted of good quality. We had been working on an old Mercedes all day before coming in, and we were pretty dirty from that. So choose not to eat inside. Will come back again!
Good. My girlfriend and I had the Egg Foo Yung and House Special fried rice. We didn't have to wait for service. Food arrived quickly and was loaded with vegetables. We liked it and will definitely go back. No MSG!
They have THE BEST (richest) hot & sour soup here. The food is better than average, and the dining room is neat, ornate, and not too noisy. The bathrooms are kinda funky compared to the dining room, sub par, as you might expect... The wait staff is super friendly!
Classic Chinese food. I think this is the best Chinese food in Napa. Unlike other places, Dragon Valley doesn't have greasy, overly salty food. Dragon valley has nice clean, fresh food. The service is slow, but they don't have many employees, that's the only negative.
We had a lovely dinner at Dragon Valley in Napa Valley. The restaurant is quiet without any background music which is a pleasant change in such a noisy world. Our server was very friendly and attentive with an infectious smile. Everything came out hot and fresh and was tasty. Our only general note, we would have preferred a lighter touch with the salt. The calamari had a nice breading. The wonton soup was excellent in a nice light sauce with fresh dumplings. Sizzling beef with black pepper platter had heads turn when they presented the dish -definitely an attention getter! Nice flavor, tender beef and vegetables. We ordered a small side of rice to accompany the dish. Thank you for a nice dinner. We will be back!
Based on the reviews on here we weren’t sure about coming here to eat. We decided to go for it, and despite them having a birthday party taking up almost the entire dinning room, we still had great service and even better food! My husband said it was some of the best Chinese food he’s ever had, which says a lot considering it’s his favorite food and has tried hundreds of restaurants. We made sure to take our left overs and they were just as good the next day. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in town!
I'm waiting for my bil at dr. I'm hungry. Its lunch. Let's do chinese. Google map... Dragon Valley- YAY! Szechuan style chinese food is my favorite. I like hot oil! They don't have hot oil wontons/dumplings though.. I was kinda sad. But I got the Mongolian beef lunch plate with Chow Mein. Roughly 13$. The lobby is nice. Large. I walked Into place my order and not even ten minutes later it was done. I took pictures- FIRST SIGHT IMPRESSION- Its beautiful food. When I opened the box, I was disappointed at the light color of my chow mein. I loved seeing the red peppers, chunks of garlic and green onions. The color of the beef is caramelized perfectly. It smelled amazing. FIRST BITE IMPRESSION- I thought the beef was a bit salty .. but honestly.. it paired perfectly with the chow mein. Which was not as bland or plain as it first looked. It has bean sprouts, cabbage & green onion in abundance. The beef had at least 5 fire roast red peppers, green and white onions, large chunks of garlic compliment the tender sliced marinated beef. A better cut is used here than most chinese restaurants in the same price range- or, the chef can marinate the hell out of a bad cut... but I don't think so. It's got SPICE & HEAT! But- its tolerable. Little red pepper flakes enhance the experience. LASTING IMPRESSION- I like it a lot! I might suggest either the water not judge on a look.. or to the chef- spruce up the chow mein in appearance. Pepper flakes... a purple cabbage instead of green.. either way- the food by taste is amazing. Whenever I'm hanging out here in the City of Napa- I his is where I'll be stopping for lunch! Can't wait to try other dishes!
The best salt and peppered pork chops and seafood soup! Kid friendly, big portions good service.

Great food! Nice people, good atmosphere.
Dragon Valley in Napa was superb. We went in with a party of 7 and the food was delicious . Service was great. I am surprised it wasn't more crowded. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants delicious Chinese food at a reasonable price. We enjoyed it very much.
By far the best chinese food in the Napa area. It has seen a few changes of ownership over the years but the current owner and cook are sensational. Give them a try if you haven't eaten there before. You will be pleasantly surprised.
I ordered from here on a whim, since I was really craving chicken fried rice and my normal place was closed, and I am SO glad I did. Not only was the price far better than the average around town, but it’s genuinely the best chicken fried rice I’ve ever had. This is my new spot from here on out, and it should be yours, too
This place is quiet , no frills but food is excellent. The staff is also very attentive. The sizzling beef platter was amazing . Good flavor and good quantities. Would dine here again.
First time visit after a doctor's appointment. Needed a little clarification on "the lunch special", but hostess & server were very patient & helpful. A little disappointed that hot tea was not included with the meal. Food served hot, promptly and delicious. We enjoyed our Sweet & Sour Pork with chow mein. Would visit again when in town.

Great Chinese food that is priced like the typical jaunt you would find. I appreciate they were open on Christmas! The four of us had the chinese food staples of house chow mein, house fried rice, sesame chicken, egg rolls, beef with oyster sauce &pot stickers. The food was hot, delicious and we enjoyed our own version of a Christmas Story! 🙂 The staff was friendly and our iced tea, hot tea and water were always full. The staff even wrapped some extra hot mustard in little containers for me and not that stuff in packets! Might be our new family Christmas tradition.
Best Chinese restaurant in Napa!! Their Mongolian Beef is always delicious. Portions are enough that there is always leftovers. Fried rice and chow mein are always guaranteed winners as well. Food comes out hot, fresh, and quickly. I'm only giving it 4 starts because there aren't enough Chinese restaurants in Napa to really have too much competition.
Napa doesn't have any 5 star Chinese food restaurants but this place is the best in town. However, it's pretty inconsistent. Sometimes it's quite good and other times pretty disappointing.
Gave me mixed veggies without mushrooms as I requested. A little oily, but the veggies were fresh, and all was better than I expected, given some of the other reviews. Then we realized we were possibly going to miss our SFO flight. So all it took was a few words and gestures, small smiles all around, the server brought me boxes to pack, and the cashier got me out the door. They clearly do more takeout business than done in so that explains the so-so atmosphere, but the room and tables appeared clean and there were plenty of seasonal holiday decorations.
We called ahead to see what vegan items they had and they said the Vegetables Chow Mein was vegan and they could make fried rice without eggs and Mu Shu without egg so we ordered all 3 when we go there. It was good but the tofu tasted like it was old and the staff were all friendly and courteous! If we were back in the area we would go again!
First time ordering. I had it delivered from Uber Eats. They missed one item but when I called they apologized and added extra food to our order. Really good sweet and sour chicken. Good Chicken and vegetables.
I’ve eaten here a few times since moving to Napa. Unless I want to really spring for Empress M which is very over priced, but top quality. Dragon Valley is my go-to. They offer vegan options. You can modify things to come without egg etc. We generally get vegetable mei fun, this time I would say it was at least 60%veg, 40% or less noodle. Good or bad depending on what you like. I was wanting a noodle dish tonight so a little disappointed. I tried their vegetable moo Shu and it was the 1st time it wasn’t served with the pancakes. Not sure if it was a mistake or they don’t do that. Also got the sweet & sour tofu which was very good. I picked up the food late so the pictures don’t look as fresh but i will be back again.

Wide selection of dishes prepared using fresh ingredients... Delicious! My wife is gluten free and they will prepare any dish GF -- for takeout you need to call them. (Always call, because their online ordering system doesn't alert them that an order has been placed, so it can be awhile before they see it.) They don't use the best cuts of beef and I'm not a fan of their beef dishes, but chicken, pork and seafood are all excellent. Portions are generous. Lunch specials are a great value and include your choice of white or fried rice or Chow Mein noodles.
6/24/20 I was expecting the food here to follow in the old Chinese tradition and even though they keep to some tradition however was pleased to find the menus trending in a contemporary direction with emphasis on lean, fresh and organic fare, the dining room was beautiful-peaceful and relaxing. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. We highly recommend it. Wait staff even though very new they were extremely friendly and helpful with a strong manager team supporting the them. Bathrooms is always super clean and will stock. 6/24/20

Yikes ordering nightmare on a Sunday. Only 1 person to address grub hub and to go orders that were taken on the spot. I felt bad for her as the room was filling with more and more people. Apparently the sweet and sour chicken not only doesn’t come with any rice but they premix the sauce so by the time you get it and take it home it’s really soggy. After waiting so long to order I had to buy white rice at another Chinese place to enjoy my soggy chicken.
It’s fine. Kinda oily, kinda salty Chinese-American food. I usually get the lunch platters which come with rice or noodles. They’re filling alright! That being said, Panda Express and other local Chinese American spots tend to have more flavor with less oil/salt. But if you need a Chinese American fix, this place is OK.
Better than the previous restaurant here, Mandarin Palace, but not as good as China Wok in Vallejo.

I don't know why they insist on using stringy chicken. I'm willing to pay the price for some nice pieces of chicken breast in the chicken dishes. I had to throw a bit of the S&S Chicken away due to being unable to chew it. Please use better product and I'll come back every time. The chicken fried rice was good.

The food is alright for Americanized Chinese Food. However, the sauce is incredibly salty and the cuts of meat are low quality. It is also more expensive than other food options, with higher quality meats. While the food is not necessarily bad, there is no reason to come here unless you really desire Chinese food in Napa.
First time eating there, the food was fine, but it took way too long almost 45 mins and my dish didn't come out until we were leaving. The only reason I gave a two is because the you girl who worked there was super helpful and very nice
I ordered the kung pao prawns lunch special, and got 6 small shrimp in a bed of vegetables and chow mein, even with the lunch time discount it was all kung pao and no prawn. I like exceptionally hot food and it was a little overly spicy even for me. The 2 stars is only for the friendly and fast service.
If I order shrimp fried rice, I'd like a decent portion of shrimp in it. If I order beef chow mein, I'd like a decent portion of beef in it. Each order item is EASILY $10 & up. $10+ FOR ONLY vegetables & rice/chow mein noodles; the CHEAPEST ingredients? If you place a "PREMIUM" meat/seafood ONLY order be prepared to pay the price. But again, the SIZE of meat/seafood does not justify the much higher price. That's my point with this restaurant. The food is good. VEGANS must REALLY love this place! Please, put a DECENT amount of the main ingredients; beef, chicken, shrimp, pork into your orders & I will you give you 4 ⭐. Now, I must SIFT & SEARCH for pieces of meat/seafood. But don't increase your price! It's too high already for Chinese cuisine. Dragon Valley is fortunate (wise?) to be in Napa where there is NOT MUCH competition for Chinese restaurants. I doubt they would remain in business very long if they were located in SF. I grew up in SF. I am Asian/Pacific Islander. ALL Asian restaurants are in FIERCE COMPETITION in the City. Napa chinese restaurants only serve what Napa residents actually "believe" is Chinese food. It isn't. Regardless, WHERE'S THE MEAT?! 🙂
Love the Chinese restaurant feel. 1st most of the food was cold, including the hot n sour soup. The veggies in the entrée were a cold afterthought while the meat was lava hot. 2nd, the server was more interested in doing her side work than waiting on the 1 table in the restaurant (us)
The food flavor was good, our server was very attentive, but the food was delayed, they brought the chow mein first then 10 minutes later the rice it was like that with the rest of the dishes , also the plates were half empty, not coming back sorry.
Service is as bad as it was as Mandarin. Got the wrong order for take out, not only did they charge me for the wrong food, but when they realized they accidentally quoted me for a lunch dish, they added to my bill. Also, the app sampler is absolutely disgusting. Extremely dry, overcooked, old "food." I honestly can't believe they served it to me. No thanks. I'll stick with Jade.
I have been going here for years. The food is normally great. This time we had eggshells in our fried rice. We called the restaurant and the lady did not seem to care that we were unhappy with our rice. She did not offer us a refund or offer to replace the rice. All she said was I'll let the manager know.

Came in to dine in for 2 on 7/3/2024, one of the hottest weeks so far of this year. Today was 102 degrees. My first reaction coming in was WOW it is so hot in here! After 5 minutes or sitting down my company and I were dripping sweat having to fan ourselves with the menus. It was at least 90 degrees inside the building. I would think for such a hot day and a nice looking restaurant that they would welcome their customers to a nice and cool atmosphere. All the food came out fairly fast. The food tasted good and the portions were decently sized. Not much of a big deal, but our sweet and sour pork was poorly tossed that lots of the pork were still dry (unsauced) and the vegetables in each dish were a tad under cooked. We had to get up twice to walk to the front for refills for our waters and had to get up to ask for the check and boxes. For being the first and only table dining, I expected these basic customer service skills to be excellent. The waitress asked us if we wanted our dishes in separate boxes, which we did… but she ended up splitting the food up into 2 different portions for 2 different people. We also physically saw the waitress accidentally spill lots of our food which was a loss for us. Once we got our boxes back they were dirty and smeared with sweet n sour sauce. We asked if they can help us out with a discount or something off for our food being wasted. They said they couldn’t help us because the owner was not in the building. I normally don't write reviews, but we spent about 100$ to have such a poor all around experience.
My husband and I are new to the town and decided to try this restaurants. My background is Chinese, so I tried my best not to be too biased. We ordered the chow fun, honey walnut shrimp, and broccoli garlic. The chow fun came out first and 3 bites into my food we find a caterpillar. I immediately spit it out and let our waitress know. She brought it back to the kitchen and said that the chef told her it must have come from inside the bok choy. Our appetite was completely lost and took the rest of the food to go. They took it off our bill and we paid for the rest. We ended up throwing the rest of the food out. Overall not a great experience, however, I will mention that initially the taste of the chow fun was really good. I was saddened with finding a bug on it because I do believe the taste was there.

Rude owners. Very unfriendly. Walked out after she came over twice and so many of us were waiting to be served without being acknowledged. Not as good of food either. WAH Sing nearby has way better food
I order vegetable chowmein, I said I'm vegetarian so its a vegetarian chow-mein, I recieved 1 plate of vegetables and 1 plate of chow-mein, I end up having two plates of meal, also the chowmein is little sweet, taste like spaggetti white sauce... ugh.. I'm not happy but I ate it because I was very hungry.. not going back again.
I've been a regular customer at Dragon Valley, previously known as Mandarin since I was younger. I came back to Napa to visit my parents and ordered some dishes including my favorite eggplant dish and they were all disgusting. The szechuan sauce tasted like sweet and sour sauce, the beef and broccoli were weird, and the eggplant dish wasn't the same. I guess they either changed management and/or chef during my time away which seems to have destroyed the food. Never coming back. RIP Mandarin.
I used Uber Eats for this restaurant. Have had mixed results in the past, but food is OK. Ordered Chinese chicken salad with dressing on the side. Ordered spring rolls with plum sauce, sweet/sour sauce and hot Chinese mustard on the side. I got plum sauce, no s/s sauce or mustard, and salad was delivered dry, no dressing on the side. Pretty pathetic. It will be awhile before I order from this restaurant again. Too many other reliable Asian establishments in Napa to choose from.
DON'T waste your money. The food was horrible, had little to zero taste. Ordered the kung pao chicken, sesame sauce chicken and the bean curd in schezwan sauce. The chicken was tough like it had been recooked a few times, the sauces tasted like they used jars from the grocery store and diluted them. NO FLAVOR. I feel sorry for the place as they are obviously in over their heads. Long waiting line to pay and for pick-up, probably the register person was also the cook?? Who knows, but I will never waste my money at this place again.
Worst Chinese food ever. Ordered Hunan chicken but don't know what it was. Very salty, Not edible. Shrimp Foo Young was gross and so were the pot stickers.
I am rating the pu pu platter, I have not tried the two other items I ordered. This platter was disgusting, soggy, tasteless and the spring rolls were limp and burnt. Not even a hint of having ever been crispy!! First and last time ordering from this restaurant, regardless of the other two items. Plus it cost $17.99!! Ugh!!
Bathrooms we're gross, the waitstaff were too lazy to put the toilet paper on the rack. No eggrolls. The soup had tasted like someone had dumped the entire container of salt in the dish. The sweet+sour chicken was so bland and the noodles + rice we're totally nasty. This place is never a place to go for good Asian food...
Food is horrible. I've had better from the frozen section. Tasteless orange chicken that was stringy and chewy like jerky. Soup was. Land and flavorless. The oot stickers tasted like they were frozen and microwaved. Doughy and disgusting.
Ordered a to go order. Got the beef noodle soup with extra beef. The lady on the phone could not answer my question when I was asking how many ounces do I get for the extra meat. She just kept mumbling some words followed by idk its either $2 $3 or $5. I wanted a good amount of meat so I gotta the highest one. And this is the extra beef I got....$5 for a couple super skinny pieces Never going back to this place again
Unfortunately I became pretty sick about an hour after eating here on my way thru town: lasted about 18 hours and worked its way out.. it I was pretty miserable for a bit!
