Decided to try this place out of the blue after looking for a place near GCT that wouldn't be too pricey. This was a very pleasant surprise to find. My party of 3 had dinner quickly and everything tasted great. The staff was small but ran the place really well and efficiently. The space was cozy but had just enough room between tables and the holiday decorations were tasteful and not overdone, which I appreciated. Overall a really nice evening with good food and drinks.
Absolutely marvelous crab cake! Crispy, with pimentos, yummy sauce. Yum 😋
I had dinner at Madison and Vine during a recent visit to NYC. These days the concept of customer service is an antiquated term at most restaurants. This is not the case at Madison and Vine. The customer service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. My dining companion was a client of mine who became ill. She stepped outside for some fresh air. While I waited at our table, the restaurant manager Joshua Cabrera, kept a watchful eye on my client, brought her a glass of water, and assured me each time he checked on her that I knew she was alright and tended to. The menu features a variety of dishes, including both classic and contemporary options, and I was impressed by the high quality of ingredients and expert preparation. I particularly enjoyed the roasted chicken with seasonal vegetables, which was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. And the macaroni and cheese is a must! However, the outstanding customer service really sets Madison and Vine apart. Madison and Vine is the place to go if you're looking for a great meal and superb customer service. The food was delish, the service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I recommend giving it a try! PS: My client did turn to the table, and she did not have a big appetite, which meant more for me to enjoy.
Dining at Madison and Vine was a wonderful way to end our visit to NYC! The food was excellent and service from our waiter, Luis, was incredible! We felt like VIPs during our entire time there. There is not a single thing that could have been any better than it was. I cannot recommend them high enough!
We were a last minute walk in last night and were DELIGHTED we did so! Staff were extremely helpful and nice. Service throughout the whole meal was second to none! We had gorgeous meal accompanied by stunning cocktails and wine. Really wanted to leave a review as feel the current star ratings are much too low for our fabulous experience.
I ordered mushroom risotto and enjoyed it. Came with grilled shrimp, which was a bit like a side. Not a criticism, a description.
Big flavors from traditional dishes in this tiny, well-run dining room. The ultimate burger is amazing. The organic chicken was great too. There's also an amazing pasta with brisket in it that I loved. Great service and some really special cocktails round it off. Loved it, and if you want to go, you definitely need a reservation.
Really excellent service for a large party on a Saturday night. The ambience is lovely, with an overall quiet noise level and pretty twinkling lights. Huge thanks to our server, Zibo, and manager Omar who were so kind and patient with our party and very attentive to food allergies. Thank you so much!
Great food and great service. They fit us in last minute and were very accommodating and patient with our large party (including toddlers). Would definitely return.
I can’t speak to the quality of food at this restaurant (yet), but want to give thanks to the staff, especially Cesar who assisted me this afternoon. After donating blood I found myself feeling very lightheaded near their entrance and Cesar allowed me to come inside. As I awkwardly sat on the floor trying not to pass out, the staff offered me soda to try and help me feel better. Once I felt able to, Cesar offered to walk with me back to the donation center to make sure I got there safely, which I did. I’ll definitely be back to dine and give thanks in person, but wanted to give a very heartfelt thank you and well deserved positive review of the excellent customer service that I received this afternoon.
We were seated inside as walk ins on a very busyv Wednesday evening. We ordered an appetizer and waited a bit for it, however, it was delicious. It was the Baratta with roasted peppers. We then were told after waiting 15 minutes that our food was going to be comped since it was dropped and we were asked if we could wait another 15 minutes. When our food came it was delicious. We did leave a generous tip since the manager was so generous by not charging us for our meal. Excellent service.
We went for brunch and loved it! Great food and the mimosas were amazing! Will definitely be back. Staff is wonderful and extremely accommodating. (And quick to fill our mimosas.)
We were delighted that we chose this restaurant after getting some work done at the NYPL. William was our waiter and he was fantastic! He had that rare ability to know when we wanted something, without ever hovering over us. Perfection! He was also very good managing both of our food allergies. The drinks and food were delicious. And the atmosphere was wonderful--calm, quiet, beautiful. All in all we could not have asked for a better experience!
To celebrate my wife's birthday, we all went to Madison and Vine in NYC for a Saturday evening dinner. Omar, the restaurant GM and the wait staff were all excellent, accommodating and friendly as can be. The atmosphere, food and service were top notch with reasonable prices. This is a very cozy and intimate restaurant and we will definitely be back!
I went for first time, Juan took care of me, he was excellent bartender, super attentive. It was the best experience! The atmosphere, the Ribeye and drinks were amazing. Thanks to Juan I definitely recommend this place
Amazing service!!!! We loved this restaurant! The manager, Omar treated us like royalty. All of the food was amazing. The charcuterie board was one of the best I’ve had. The meatballs were so savory, tender and saucy, and the melted cheese inside, chefs kiss. The truffle fries were to die for, I wanted to eat the entire basket by myself. The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff was spectacular. Will definitely be back!
The sweetest staff ever. Super accommodating and great with dietary restrictions! Food was great and a nice selection of vegetarian options.
We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here with delicious food, excellent service, and in a delightful, relaxing, friendly atmosphere. We shall be back! Thank you to all the attentive, professional wait staff and chef!
A real good meal, great service. Shared the meatballs as starter, Bannana split as a desert. Mains- i had the linguine and my better half had the scisilian sausage pasta.
A good find tucked away near Bryant Park and Grand Cent. A delicious brunch/lunch spot. Great food in a nice, well appointed bistro setting. The service was friendly and helpful. Flatbread was terrific and the burger is among the best I've had.
Excellent salmon dish, perfectly prepared, Caesar salad, reasonably priced wines by the glass; prompt cheerful service.
Lovely dining experience here while in town for work. Wonderful and friendly service, very lively (crowded -that’s good!) but not too loud that you can’t have a good conversation. I ate lightly but my salad was delicious and beautiful. Everything else looked delicious too, I just wasn’t hungry enough!
Located the street corner and inside the Library Hotel, Madison & Vine boasts a welcoming and modern interior with creative dishes and cocktails. Arrived here late morning time for brunch, and it appeared to be busy but not yet packed. We were seated quickly and given menus in as little time. The decor includes copious amounts of wood, accented with brass throughout... Although the dining space is on the smaller side, it's all very appealing to the eye! We ordered a pitcher of sangria that also had bourbon and sage (some spice like that) and it was surprisingly good. Before trying, I would have never thought these things went together well. Great selection of wines and beers here, also. The food menu had creative takes on brunch staples, and what we ordered confirmed that they paid off in taste. I ordered baked eggs and dates with goat meatballs, and it was served in tomato based sauce. Someone else at the table ordered french toast crusted with Cap'n Crunch and he had nothing but praise for it. Madison & Vine provided us with a memorable brunch, and when we return it will definitely be on the list.
I was there with my wife last week, our server Juan David was amazing, he recommended us the Fizz Royale ¡OMG! Definitely I’ll come back
Amazing service, staff and food! I highly recommend the mussels. The servers Roman, Juan and Ozan were so kind and hospitable. The food is decently priced and great portions, which is saying a lot for Manhattan. The space is cleanly and well planned. The food came at a reasonable time and the atmosphere is so chill. Perfect for a midweek unwind.
Great spot for a business lunch. Love the open doors/walls in the summer. And delicious espresso martinis!
I had the Branzino special and crème brûlée with some Sauvignon Blanc! The highlight of my day even month! Team was super friendly and polite especially Mariana and the guys working the bar! Thanks for the hospitality and pleasant conversation!
Great service Kind staff My son ordered a chicken dish and didn't like it. They kindly offered to exchange it for a hamburger, which was not charged. I really appreciate that gesture, it speaks highly of the quality of your restaurant. Thanks .!
We sat at the bar with my girlfriend and had an amazing experience. Our bartender Juan took great care of us, he prepared some incredible cocktails, easily some of the best we’ve had in a long time. The food was also very tasty, and the whole atmosphere made the night even better!! Definitely recommend coming here and asking for Juan! 🍸
My wife and I ate here for her birthday! The food was delicious. It was definitely crowded and popular, so a reservation is pretty necessary. Her mom had the salmon, she had the pasta with short rib, and I had the steak and a side of the crispy brussel sprouts. Everything was really good and cooked well (as in my steak was a perfect medium rare). This place is a little on the fancy and expensive side, but the service and the food is worth it for sure.
I went to this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The drinks were on point —you can tell there’s real talent behind the bar. Juan David was the one who took care of us, and he was excellent friendly, professional, and with that great vibe that makes you want to come back. He clearly knows what he’s doing as a waiter, and bartender. Definitely a place worth returning to again and again.
When you are in the area of the New York Public Library, this is the restaurant to go to. This establishment is located within the Library Hotel. It is also worth going out of your way to get here. The service, food, decor and all other aspects of a good restaurant are located within this most desirable eatery. You will not be disappointed. Go, stop and enjoy. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Stopped in on a whim on our way back to Grand Central for a quick dinner. Happily surprised we could get a seat outside with no reservation on such a bestiful day! Cocktails are amazing! I went with steak fries which was... Amazing! The pepper steak sauce is a great touch and fries were delish! Hit the spot! Their breakfast menu also looked amazing, will be back soon hopefully to try it!
I loved the atmosphere! It was definitely a fancier restaurant than I usually go to but the server was so attentive and friendly. The food was amazing: three of us shared a salad, mushroom soup, Mac and cheese (elevated), and the burrata appetizer. We did not order any drinks this time but the wine list looked great.
Visiting from UK. Great restaurant with excellent service (with a smile!) and very good food. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend. Not too far from Grand Central Terminal. Made a fuss over my wife as well, since it was a birthday celebration! Would go back without hesitation when we’re next in NY!
Went to this place yesterday to try out the brunch. The food was very good. I had the French Toast. It wasn’t too heavy, and was just right. Tried to order the white sangria, but they were out. The service was so, so. I ordered scrambled eggs but they brought them out as an appetizer? I would return as it seemed they had just opened and were a little short staffed.
Great spot for quick lunch! The service was efficient and we appreciated the time we saved waiting for food. Then menu is short and sweet, although choices were quite generic with nothing special to note. We also appreciated the generous portions. Would recommend for those in the area looking for a quick lunch.
Overall ok, felt a little overpriced for what it was. Had the falafel burger, Mediterranean salad with salmon and truffle fries.
Started out with the mussels app which is a favorite of mine when I see them in a menu. Somehow they tasted grainy after eating 8 of them. I am familiar with cleaning them well. This batch was certainly not. Quite dissatisfied. Unable to get the server's attention. The place appeared to be understaffed. Got it worked out eventually. Retained me as a customer after talking to the server. Overall experience was good. Food and drinks were good as well. Will come back again when we're in NYC.
Had the burgers ... They were Fab. The beers on tap were quite good. The chicken and the pasta we were not so fond of. All told very mid, but open to trying again.
Sat at the bar had a fabulous dinner on recommendations from the bartender...wonderful service...its on the rotation.
The food was lovely - my NY strip steak was fabulously juicy and my partner’s burger was good. The wine we eventually chose was really good. However, I was not at all happy with the activities of our waiter. I bear him no malice as he seemed to be a nice chap, but what he did was super irritating. Firstly, he wittered on at me very quickly about something to do with glasses vs bottles of wine which was unnecessary and not asked for. Secondly, having ordered my bottle of wine, I was advised by him several minutes later that it had run out, and then he had the barefaced cheek to bring me two alternatives which were ludicrously expensive. I was rather short with him and chose something else. I think he was intrusive and inappropriate, and really let the restaurant down. I was tempted to only give three stars due to this. If I went back, I’d ask specifically not to have that waiter.
Cocktails were well made and bartender was great.
The service was really good. I was very happy with our server and explained well the dishes. Food was good but not great. I had chicken and I thought it needed something else and also it was somewhat dry. The burger was ok the fries really good and the pasta kind of bland. Ambiance is nice, service is good and the food was ok.
The food here is pretty decent. I felt like our server had a hard time understanding us but she was attentive overall. The ambiance is similar to a diner and therefore I found the food a tad overpriced. It was decent food though, I liked my chicken sandwich! so overall I’d say- better brunch out there for sure but if you end up here you won’t hate it.
We stayed at the Library Hotel and went there twice. Dinner was good. Drinks need a little bit of help. For some reason, the bartender was not available to do our drinks. One of the servers ends up doing the drinks. With a little bit of simple syrup, the drink was fixed. Burguer was good.
I've been here for intimate dinners and business lunches. Great customer service and many options for different diets.
Enjoyed lunch with a friend who was visiting from California. We had a perfect seat by the window. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful. We both had the Mediterranean which was just ok I added a crab cake my friend added steak which was very good as was the flat bread with goat cheese and fig delicious. Tables are just to close together. We were lucky to get a seat by the window .
Im always happy when I fine gems like Madison & Vine in my backyard. Never had to go too far to enjoy a wonderful anniversary lunch with my wonderful wife. Both indoor and outdoor captured our eyes and seeing we had kids we choose outside which turned out more delightful than expected with the water feature and nature humming around us. Yeah I said humming as their beautiful garden did attract mother nature's finest (bees) but if you dont mess with them they dont mess with you 😉 I like that the menu was not convoluted and it offered a bite of everything. The drink option is INSANE and my kid had two mango mule.. ask for it you'll thank me later. I had the brisket cheese sandwich and it didnt disappoint. For "my" personal benefit i would have preferred a harder bread to hold more of the gravy from the brisket. All in all a wonderful spot with delightful staff, food and mama Mia the drinks 😋. If you like to be in your phone then this spot guarantees you no signal which is the perfect place just to be into someone other than a screen. This is definitely a good place and a good vibe
Met some friends there for a lunch. Great options to choose from for foo and drinks. The waitress was nice and attentive. Food was delicious and the desserts were so good. We each had a different dessert so we could try them. The noise level was moderate, and we could here each other talk. I highly recommend this place for lunch.
Great place, nice ambiance, excellent service, the Hamburger was good, the cocktail not the best, my husband asked for simple syrup because it was sour. After that it was really good. The next day we had breakfast, I ate the French toast they were delicious. I little bit expensive I will say, the coffee and cappuccino really good. I recommend this place.
Staying at the library hotel, and we decided to finally try this place. Very disorganized - should’ve listened to the reviews. Took forever to get waited on, and there weren’t even a lot of customers. Waitstaff stood around for a while just talking, and one poor waitress was doing all the work including managing the bar too (while serving). Gentleman pouring water was the most efficient. Food was good, but not great. Would not recommend based on subpar service. Much better selections in area for around the same price point. Had to go up to bar to pay. Also, out of a lot of their quality wine choices.
Madison &… Fine; Came here shortly after arriving in Manhattan after a tedious flight. It was recommended by the concierge of the hotel we were staying with due to its proximity. It was… fine. Nothing special, though also not bad. We split the mussels. (Sauce was delicious but the muscles were quite grainy), the meatballs (great taste but served to us cold), and the burrata (the dish was a little bland). Cocktails were standard. Service was also just okay, we were given an incorrect bill for another table. To the staffs credit they were very busy this evening. Music was so loud I could not communicate with the other members of our party. Five star prices not really backed up by the food and service.
Our female server was not friendly and we couldn’t get her attention to fill our water glasses twice. Nice atmosphere but with onlyb3 other tables filled service should have been better.
Wanted to grab a happy hour cocktail with a coworker in town from Houston. Madison & Vine was convenient and looked nice. Wish we had put in a little more effort and found somewhere else. Drinks were expensive and not very good. My coworker got a classic martini and they only filled the glass half way. Even at happy hour with 25% off it’s still a $14-15 cocktail and I would expect a full one. We had to ask three times for water. We ordered a second drink because we didn’t feel like moving but when 20 minutes later our drinks came we said no to them. At that point we thought they were forgotten. Asked for the check and they forgot to give us happy hour prices. If it was busy or we were at a table I could understand some of these things but we were at the bar and it wasn’t full. I won’t be returning. Too pricey for bad cocktails and service.
Our waiter did everything possible to make us happy. Before the pandemic, I had the best French 75 I had ever had at Madison &Vine; however, last night I had the worst I’ve ever had in this restaurant. My medium-well ordered burger came rare. The waiter returned it cooked well done. My husband’s ceviche was very good, but the macaroni dish was just okay. I am incredibly sad that our latest visit turned out so differently than our pre-pandemic visits. I would no longer recommend this restaurant to friends visiting NYC.
Weird restaurant, came in at 10am, there were like three tables taken in the entire restaurant on a Saturday, and we were told to come back at 11. Was not given a reason why.
I had high hopes for this place, as I pass by it all the time and the enclosed outdoor seating seems great for people watching, which it was and probably the best part of my experience. I arrived around 445pm so the place was pretty empty. I was seated right away but then it took quite a long time for my waiter or anyone for that matter to greet me. It took so long I went looking for someone and that’s when they finally came to my table. I ordered the steak & frites (parm truffle ones) and when the waiter brought my steak knife, which he looked at as he presented it to me, and placed it on the table you can clearly see it’s dirty with food stuck on it. Of course he left so quickly I had to wait for a different person to come by to address the issue. When I got my meal I had to return the fries as they didn’t make them parm truffle like I requested. It was not a great experience from beginning to end. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but there were too many mistakes that shouldn’t have happened at a restaurant that was pretty much empty at the time. The food was decadent, nothing overly special about it.
If you're hungry this might not be the place for you. If waiting for your appetizer is no problem, and even longer for your food, then go for it... unless.. you can justify $20 for 4 shrimp on a 30 minute wait cocktail that is fancy put together, nothing more. For the Entree I went with the half chicken because I made the assumption it would the most amount of food for the least amount of money. I was right. My companion ordered the more expensive salmon and it was a 4-5 bite meal for closer to $30. Now, comparing $20 - 4 shrimp appetizer vs $25 half chicken entree, you can tell any other option other than the chicken is not worth your money. Bill $100, I was at that restaurant for almost an hour and half and not by choice, but waiting to eat. Taco bell will make you happier my friend.
I’ve walked past this restaurant for years always saying I would come and dine there one day. I wish I simply kept walking and it was a huge disappointment. The food is under seasoned and I’m shocked because the menu is so small. The staff is ok but they seem overwhelmed. My food was dropped off and didn’t see waiter again until it was time for the check. They do have staff walking around adding water and turning over tables quickly.
I called one day prior to our department Christmas lunch and i have booked a table for 10 people. I called at 8:30 just to be sure that i will get a table. Apparently the manager booked it at 2PM. A couple of hours later he calles me for me to confirm the booking because they are super busy and i said that i am at a doctor’s appointment and i will call him back afterwards. I was literally in the doctor’s office talking to the doctor. When i called back nobody appeared to see my reservation anymore and laughed at me when i said 10 people. They told me to call back in 10 min to talk to the manager which i did but the manager didn’t pick up. Another person did. I was asking something and he would go back and forth to the manager to ask him what to respond. All in all he told me that the reservation doesn’t exist anymore and that the manager will call me back to explain because he is currently in a meeting. Which in my opinion it was a lie but I hanged up and waited for the manager to call and explain why did he canceled my reservation without asking me. Guess what? He never called me back!!! The lack of respect and professionality is beyond what i can imagine. A manager should know better before he does this kind of things. I looked like an idiot in front of my coworkers just because of his incompetence and disrespect.
Very weird experience - we stopped in for a quick snack. I wanted truffle fries. $35 later we left unimpressed: no music on the patio, $4.50 per glass of tap seltzer water, very slow for empty restaurant at 1pm on a Sunday. The other couple on the patio were streaming their own music. Another group left and complained to an incoming group about the service/time it took to get their food. It wouldn’t have been such a bad experience if I hadn’t been forced to pay $18 for tap water. To management, please find other ways to generate revenu other than charging so much for water.
Dear Madison & Vine, I wanted to share my recent dining experience at your restaurant. My girlfriend and I had a reservation, but unfortunately, we were not greeted at the door. We had to approach the manager ourselves to inform them about our reservation. Once we were seated, our waiter came to our table, but her attitude was quite dismissive, and it seemed like she didn’t have the energy to provide proper service. This significantly affected our overall experience. We were looking forward to a pleasant dining experience at Madison & Vine, but the lack of a warm welcome and the unenthusiastic service left us disappointed. We hope you can address these issues to ensure a more enjoyable visit for your customers in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The food was absolutely the worst I have ever had in all my travels. I ordered a burrata that doesn't even look like the online photo. The tomatoes were refrigerated and then left to thaw before making the plate ( not fresh) so part of them were soggy and part hard to bite. There was no pesto or balsamic reduction in the plate as listed on the menu. The kitchen was on the basement which you can see when you use the restroom. I oversaw two workers and how they were prepping food, super dirty kitchen and nobody was wearing any gloves. Overpriced for what it offered and it wasn't even edible. Completely disappointed
The food and service were great but with heat waves of 90+ degrees and no air-conditioner me and my wife were drenched in sweat before we could even put an order. I do not recommend anyone visit until the heat situation gets addressed.
Rude staff. The entire restaurant was empty, and had availability for reservations online via open table. Showcases that a reservation could be made, manager got upset stating that’s incorrect. None the less, Pera is right next door. Better food and great service
