Consistently amazing
best halal in nyc
Is there crack in this?
I Do food YouTube reviews one of my friends told me about this card and this is One of the best cards I’ve ever tried a Did I know how to tasty this will be, will be coming here more often, thanks to my friend I found out about this place.
What a friendly guy my friend told me about this cart, I work like 3 blocks away, literally fills you up with big platter of food for only 6$. Hopefully he keeps it like that, so more customers come in because of the fair prize. Hope you also give it a try !!!!!!!!!!!! 😋
The food is so good that I didn't even have the chance to take a picture. I'm happily returning to try the lamb gyro. 😁
Dude, $6 cart of food you can’t find anywhere in nyc. Best halal food in nyc, he loads up the platter, very friendly guy amazing food, you gotta just give it a try.
Hands down the best halal cart in Manhattan. I’ve been going to this cart for over 5 years and refuse to purchase halal from anywhere else. A must try!
Delicious chicken and rice combo plate. Definitely better than some big name halal carts. Will return!
really nice food. brown rice on lamb & sauce. served delicately. just take away. egyptian guy is friendly
Damn. So GOOD. Like OG halal guys truck. Also, the guy is so nice! Good vibes all around. Also - $8. Worth.
I used to live by and miss this spot! Best halal in Manhattan. Really great guy the owner too.
Chicken lamb combo over rice the best
I can't stop buying the lamb gyro on my way back from work. It's so good!
I think it’s solid, been a go-to for me since moving to UES
Probably the only halal cart I've seen that gives you more portion than what you pay for.
Super nice guy, fresh veggies, and the chickpeas on top are a great touch!
Amazing food and great service!! Definitely recommend it!
Best bang for your buck in the area by far, and it is delicious and fast
All the right flavors, super fresh and a huge portion.
Chicken over rice with white sauce and red sauce was very delicious
Pretty good chicken over rice platters.
Things I’m glad I tried: lamb with brown rice
We got the combo plate for $8 on a Sunday night (9/4/22) and it was delicious! Just finished eating it right now, actually. We're visiting from San Francisco, been here for 5 days and this was probably the best thing we had so far. Highly recommend! Come get yourself some!
I went there to buy mixed salad and it was delicious. One person was there and put broccoli, onions in addition to salad.

This food truck garnered numerous rave reviews, which compelled me to give it a try. It certainly lived up to the hype, as the food proved to be worth every step of the walk. Moreover, I was delighted to discover that they accept card payments, eliminating the hassle of carrying cash. Without a doubt, I'll be revisiting this hidden gem if I find myself in the vicinity again.
He is so nice every time when I go see him he smiles and he knows my order. He’s the best food cart owner.
I’ve tried a lot of halal carts all over NYC and I can definitely say this the best. Service and food were amazing and the owner was extremely nice. If you’re in the area u gotta try it.
I second the other review that Medo is better than Halah Guys and fair priced. Veggie is fresh cut and lamb is delicious and crispy. Chicken is big chunk. I used to think why didn’t they open a halah guys on UES. Doesn’t bother me anymore.
Fresh meat and very tasty. I always ask for the chicken spicy and it's made fantastic. Amazing quality for $8 chicken over rice.
Extremely pleased with my first lamb gyro of NYC. Generous with filling and the taste is really good! Will defo come back if I'm passing by
Bangin and inexpensive! I stopped on a whim and was blown away. I eat falafel like it's my job. Israeli, Arabic, LA, San Fran to NYC and Florida. I love falafel and this was one of the best! So uniquely spiced and flavorful with lettuce, tomato, onion, peppers, eggplant, tadziki, hot sauce FOR $4.50!!! Out of control. So tasty and large. Hit it up.
Best halal cart on the UES! Absolutely love the combo over rice! The owner is definitely one of the friendliest I’ve ever met!
Best halal cart I’ve ever been to. Delicious, my man is incredibly friendly and I have never gotten stomach problems from it. So good
Been living in NYC for 30 years, and Medo Halal is the best. I'm literally eating their chicken over rice right now! When you're there, say hello to Khalifa for me! This is the ORIGINAL Medo Halal. - Rob
Walk past this cart everyday and finally decided to try it. Chicken over rice was delicious and the service was very friendly! I’ll be back for sure and wish I had tried it sooner
My almost weekly go-to in UES for chicken over rice and chicken gyro (personal favorite). Always delicious, perfectly seasoned. Excellent and friendly service. I hope they have not been harassed by the guy who has been ranting at a nearby food truck.
Great halal platter - good portion size and relatively cheap for NYC ($8-9).
This guy is amazing! He's always happy and the food is always delicious (and well priced). There is a good variety as well (the lamb gyro is my favorite but the combo over rice is a close second).

Really good, flavors are spot on. My only complaint is that the portion was way below average. I was finished within 7 spoons.

Very Small serving compared to other food carts. Raw chicken. Very less sauce. Not recommended.

Beware of this food truck! The man who runs it is dishonest and steals from his customers. I was in Manhattan with my kids and, since I was short on time, I went to buy a soda and a hot dog for $13. The vendor charged my credit card $228 (I didn't notice the amount at the time because he didn't give me a receipt; days later, I received my bank statement, and the vendor claims the charge is correct). I've been disputing this charge for two months because it's not fair that they take advantage of being in a busy area and use selling food as a cover for stealing.
Extremely disappointing. First time I've had bad halal food in NYC. Tiny portion to top it off - I'm still hungry.
I went in today after reading the positive reviews. The worker was sat inside busy with his phone and wouldn’t even answer!!
It’s okay, not impressed by any halal cart on the UES so far unfortunately
Not recommended, i did finish my plate , the chicken 🐓 without any taste , the rice also bad. Sorry owner but it's the truth. Try to improve your food quality.
Edit: Owner is accusing me of stealing a $8 halal order …really? I had bags full from Sephora, Ulta and Target with me from shopping. Why would I steal from a food truck? Read my experience below. Truly disgusted by the treatment. Also you AGGRESSIVELY YANKED the bag out of my hand and pushed past me. I should have reported you. Please avoid this place at all costs!! Service was so unbelievably rude. I am still in shock. I went to buy a combo platter and paid with Apple Pay. Owner gave me a thumbs up and I walked away. He then chased after me a minute later and yanked the bag of food out of my hands and said the card declined and started running off. I walked over and did Apple Pay again and it worked. He had a faulty card machine and could have handled the situation better instead of treating me like a criminal. If you want better halal food go to Adels downtown. Portion was terrible too. Note to the owner: Start treating your customers like human beings.
