I was told by New Yorkers that Indian food in New York is the best you can get atleast on this side of the coast. Was superseded by the expectations. The service, the food, the ambience is top tier. The lamb mughlai and the chicken tikka masala paired with garlic and keema naan were perfection. This is a gem just off of Broadway for some superb Indian cuisine.

We ordered the mango lassi, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, and garlic naan, and every dish was exceptional. This is easily some of the best Indian food I’ve had in New York. The flavors were rich and layered without being heavy or oily, which made everything feel incredibly well balanced. The lamb curry truly stood out, especially with the fresh raw ginger on top that added a bright, aromatic lift. I originally discovered this place through Uber Eats, but dining there in person elevated the experience even more.

Say cheers with fresh lime soda, Appetizing Chicken Ginger kebab, Savory Chicken Biryani, smooth Butter chicken, melting Garlic & cheese Naan, Delectable lamb chops and tandoori mixed grill all cooked to perfection with perfectly balanced flavors are my favorites to begin with!! Mughlai is always a great time and the food is only rivaled by the service. A group of five of us went last night and it was a great experience all around. This time I had their lamb chops and they were perfect. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and had a great time. I’d recommend Mughlai anyone wanting great Indian food and a great dining experience.

The service was excellent and quick but not rushed, there was an ambiance and environment but you could have a conversation that you could hear. The chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, the aloo paratha and the lamb saagwala were all to die for, incredible and I will 1000% be back to eat there again. Everyone on the waitstaff was so personable, made great recommendations and I really enjoyed my experience.

Such an amazing ambiance. It was my first time at an Indian Cuisine Restaurant, and let me tell you it is a go to! I had the Mango Lassi, and shared the Lasuni Gobi! Please try this appetizer, it's a must! As a main course, Chicken Chettinad Soo good.

Mughlai Indian in NYC is fantastic. The chicken bhuna was delicious, the mint parathas were crispy, and the rice and onions complemented everything beautifully. The owner’s wife Nupur ji was wonderful, offering warm conversation and attentive service even while busy. The manager Rabindra was very understanding, and the whole place had positive, welcoming vibes. Even the bathroom was spotless, which I appreciated. It’s very close to the Times Square. The food gave me just the right boost for my long drive back. Highly recommended!

A Hidden Gem Near the 9/11 Museum! Stopped in on the way to the 9/11 Museum — originally just to use the bathroom — but the owner was so warm and welcoming that we decided to stay for dinner. I’m so glad we did! The food was outstanding, every dish was delicious, and the service was top-notch. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, even those who weren’t directly serving us. You can tell they’re well-trained and genuinely care about the guest experience. I also overheard the owner speaking to the staff with such respect — it really made an impression. This place deserves more than 5 stars. Can’t wait to return next time I’m in New York!

As a British Male, living in the USA, trying to find genuine Indian cuisine that is close to anything we have back in the UK (I am talking regular weekly visits to Brick Lane) I have to lower my expectations when trying "Indian Cuisine" in the US. MUGHLAI HIT THE SPOT! Chicken 65 to start, fantastic. So good I didn't want to spoil my main of Lamb Vindaloo. The Vindaloo was thick, rich and full of flavour. Nothing watery or runny as I have experienced with many other imitation Indian restaurants. Mughlai is the real deal. The host was very warm and welcoming. So much so she got an appreciation hug from me because my experience was the closest to my UK experiences to date! Thank you to all at Mughlai. I will 110% be returning and will recommend to anyone visiting NYC.

Had a wonderful meal at Mughali (55th St). Warm environment, clean and stylishly decorated. Quaint and Cozy. Sid, our server was a highlight. Great personality and gave great recommendations. Food came out quickly and was hot and well presented and prepared. I got the chicken tikka masala, and my friend got the goat briyani. Highly recommend both. Well seasoned and hot. The briyani did have some spice on the end but was not overwhelming. Definitely hit this spot if you're looking for good Indian at an extremely reasonable price.

we love this restaurant so much. The owner and the waiters were so kind to us and so down to earth for us. The food as well was absolutely delicious and we loved every single review that our server gave us. Talking about our server we had a man named Siddharth and he was so nice he gave us such fun, lighthearted jokes, and he also took pictures for us, so nice. if you’re looking for a recommendation, please go here and get the chicken tikka masala.

A cozy little gem serving up seriously flavorful dishes with the warmest hospitality. ✨ We were out exploring the area and in need of some proper sustenance when a quick search led us to Mughlai’s—and what a find it turned out to be. We were visiting NY with some Balkan family members who had never tried Indian cuisine before, so we wanted their first foray into Asian flavors to be something memorable. Luckily, Mughlai’s delivered. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, so our food came out quickly—fresh, fragrant, and beautifully plated. The biryani brought just the right level of spice, warming without overpowering. The mango lassi was perfectly chilled and refreshingly sweet—exactly what we like. And the tikka masala was rich, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot. Every dish at the table was met with happy nods and clean plates. Friendly staff, delicious food, and a great first impression for new Indian food fans. Definitely recommend and we’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in town. 🌶️🥭🍛

I’ve always loved ordering from here and have done so numerous times! The food is always delicious and well flavored. However, was slightly disappointed when I received my take out and my chicken tikka masala only had six medium/small sized pieces of chicken. Definitely was a little disappointing considering the amount I have ordered from here. Hope this doesn’t continue

This restaurant is pretty small, the company of two maybe will be ok, but if there 4-5 ppl, you'll seat like sparrows on the branch. The food is not bad but the portions for the price are expensive. $18 for the small plate of paneer tikka... In general the staff is friendly. Next time we will choose different place.

Good place for North Indian food. Pls don’t try South Indian items like chicken 65 or Biriyani. Chicken tikka was great. Chicken 65 was frozen food and poor quality. We couldn’t eat it and inspite of telling them, there was no offer for replacement or not billing it. That was bitter. Biriyani was not freshly cooked but a premix mixed in white rice.
