There is a lot of competition with thai food in Hell’s Kitchen but Yum Yum gives you some of the best deals and great food. They have a very home owned environment and business which I want to support. I’d like to see more people notice them. When I’m looking for take out for lunch or dinner i think from all the places I've tried, they have the best takeout and best lunch deal. Go support them. They make sure you are fed for sure.
This is an affordable restaurant and a classic of the area. I ate a couple of times here (good service!) & I would often order via delivery. Recommend: spring rolls, crab cakes, their soups and their green tea ice cream.
Outstanding place! They have 2 different 5 course meal options that are really good! You get a lot of food and it was all delicious! I had one of the 2 duck options and it was cooked perfectly. They also have a regular menu, but the meal deal was too good of a value to pass up! The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Found this little place by accident - so glad we did! We opted for the 'five course' menu of soup, salad, spring rolls (or steamed buns), a main and ice cream (green tea or coconut). We were brought a pint of iced water without having to ask, and the beer we ordered came with chilled glasses. Both greatly appreciated after the hottest day on record in NYC! The first three 'courses' came together - effectively a starter altogether. This isn't a complaint at all, just pointing out that while 5 courses might seem too much, it was the perfect amount. And delicious too! A sensible limited choice menu apart from the main - plenty of options there, something for everyone. We both chose Pad Thai (yes yes, I know) and were extremely happy with our choices. Great value, plenty of choice, and all super tasty!
Yum Yum Too in Hell’s Kitchen is a go-to spot for tasty Thai fusion, just a short walk from Times Square. The food’s flavorful and affordable, with favorites like Tom Yum noodle soup, Pad Thai, and coconut ice cream. It’s a cozy, casual place that’s great for a quick bite or a relaxed dinner before a show. Bonus: it’s ADA accessible, with a wheelchair-friendly entrance and seating, so it’s easy to get in and comfortable for everyone. Friendly service and delivery options make it even more convenient.
Talk about an amazing experience and a fantastic meal. We had the prix fix dinner. Soup, salad and , appetizer entree and ice cream. It was a parade of sensory pleasures, my soup was spicy but perfect heat and salty goodness. The salad was clean and fresh. My entree was a taste of the ocean with brine and texture flavor. My coconut ice cream amazing.
Yum Yum Too is a Thai classic restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen. I’ve been a frequent diner at Yum Yum Too especially during theater days, and it’s a restaurant that still holds up after all these years! Their Drunken Noodle is one of my favorites with the right amount of spiciness. The noodle and meat portions are decent, and it’s cooked to perfection. As for their Pad Kra Pow, I love their sauce, and it’s delicious! Overall, Yum Yum Too is a restaurant that continues to deliver amazing food and affordable prices. Keep up the good work!
Craving Thai food? Check this place out!! Service was friendly and efficient. Beautiful light fixtures over the bar and ample seating. Got the Prix fix menu which included five courses for $28!! Tried the coconut soup, I would put this in a cup and drink it, the broth was so good!!! The spring roll was wonderful, but the dumpling was a little more my taste since it wasn't fried, but both were tasty (as were the sauces). The salad was good too. I ordered the Thai chicken ( ground chicken with mushroom and peppers and a fried egg with jasmine rice. My first time trying this dish, and it won't be my last. So much flavor!! Serving was HUGE!! Happy to take some home with me lol Finished with Coconut ice cream. One scoop was the perfect ending to this meal! The person next to me had a duck platter and said it was a favorite of his, and the person on my other side had a salmon dish that looked very tasty!! Can't wait to go back here on my next trip into the city!!
If you are in the Hell Kitchen area, Yum Yum Too is a cozy establishment that offers Thai cuisine. The service is consistently exceptional, characterized by courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness. For our appetizer, we opted for the coconut shrimp, accompanied by a sweet chili sauce. For our main course, I chose the shrimp/pineapple fried rice with cashew. However, the rice was a bit greasy for my preference. My partner had the Penang Curry served with white rice. The dish was flavorful, but it lacked the desired level of spiciness. We requested an extra spicy curry, and pepper flakes were provided for additional spice. The Thai iced tea was refreshing and tasty. In terms of facilities, the bathroom could benefit from improved presentation and cleanliness.
Haven't been here in years (since my undergrad days) and the food did not disappoint at all. We had quite a couple of dishes: Tom Ka Gha soup was great, thai dumplings were a bit too salty especially with the chili/garlic flake dipping sauce, pineapple fried rice was well balanced, chicken satay was tender along with the peanut sauce, drunken noodles were great! And so was the seafood ka-prow. Ambience was really nice as well :). Sorry I didn't get all the pics in there (some of the dishes were inhaled 😅😁)
In an area packed with many Thai restaurants, Yum Yum Too stands out with their extremely affordable pricing! The value you get here is hard to match for the cost, as I had a lunch while dining in for less than $20 (including tip). It’s definitely not going to be the best Thai food you’ve ever eaten but, for the price, you really shouldn’t complain
Pros: The food is served quickly, & hot. It's still afordable... Cons: Everytime I've been seated without being accompanied by a Caucasian guest; I've been seated next to the bathroom 3 consecutive occasions, while not busy at all. When they first opened, they had gracious & beautiful service. The flavors arent as potent as this place was once upon a time, from great place to (NOW JUST OKAY) an extention of the original yum yum Bangkok further down on 9th ave, which is now closed permanently sadly. (At the peak there was 4 locations in a 2 block radius- they expanded too fast.) The daughter of the original owner ran the place far better.
Service was prompt, atmosphere was ok... not too crowded. Food was decent but more on the fast-food side. Orderer their dinner special for $20 which came with 2 pieces of Veg dumplings and Pad Kee Mao. Everything was extra greasy and oily but tasted good. The $20 dinner special is not worth it in my opinion as you get much smaller portions
I been to dinner here many times both dined in and takeout. Not sure if owner or kitchen staff changed. The seafood tamarind arrived in a puddle of water, cannot consider it a sauced, everything was just soggy and a peice of plastic batters into the squid. Hopefully this is a one off but this is def not acceptable to send out. I always give business a second chance so I will order again in the future and if there are improvements, I will def leave a follow up review and remove this one.
I visited on Friday night with a friend. It wasn't too crowded so we got seated right away. We ordered pad see ew and pad Thai. I thought it taste good, but the portion was too small. The size of plate was probably as big as your side dish. I was still hungry after eating everything.
The service was prompt and the restaurant was clean. The menu was a little overwhelming as it was multiple separate laminated pages with different multi course options. My partner & I ordered the red curry with chicken & drunken noodles with chicken. As we were waiting for the food, my partner commented that he thought the food wouldn’t taste good given the vibe and the food pictures on the menu. However, we decided to give it a try. The food came quickly. The curry, although it had a good taste, was lukewarm. The drunken noodles were also just lukewarm. It also had a good taste. Initially, we agreed that we would give the restaurant 4 stars because we found the service prompt and friendly, and the food, although not hot, to have a good flavor. However, as soon as we left, I got a funny feeling in my stomach. I became extremely ill from the curry. Later, my partner also began to experience stomach pain. We feel the food was not made fresh and likely was not kept warm at an appropriate temperature. I would not eat here again.
This place has the WORST thai food i’ve ever had in my life! I’ve tried so many thai places in Queens specifically and it’s one of my favorite food categories, but this place destroyed it! To start off, the soups were incredibly greasy and just tasted like water. Next, the peanut sauce is a JOKE. It’s incredibly CLUMPY, it looked like a big pile of goop. It did not have the right consistency, and it quite frankly tasted extremely artificial and old. I mean can you see it cracking? The salad did not taste fresh either. It was really difficult to get service in here too, waiters would constantly ignore my party, and they forgot our dessert when we paid for the pre-fixed set. It’s safe to say I would not visit or recommend this place to anyone. It is extremely mediocre. Definitely not worth $40+
