The burgers here are soooooo good. The truffle burger was one of the best burgers I've had. The margarita was nice and strong. And the seafood ceviche is a must. Great vibe! Waiters were on it. Drinks and food were delicious. We sat outside since it was around 8:30pm so the sun was down. TVs outside to watch different things on TV if you weren't interested in the music. Overall great place to eat.

The Harlem Tavern has excellent food, a nice atmosphere, and excellent service. The Harlem Tavern is readily accessible from public transit, and has a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating options. I sampled a variety of their food at a work function, and it was all delicious. Our server was friendly and very efficient. The Harlem Tavern really is a great place to have a meal, meet up for some drinks, or both.

Stumbled upon this place because I was in the area looking for a good meal. My server was very warm and welcoming. We ordered the lamb burger, steak frites, and seafood gumbo. Everything was delicious!! I’m so used to spending an obscene amount and being disappointed when I go out to eat but this place did not disappoint in either regard. Steak and burger were cooked perfectly. Gumbo was almost too salty but not enough for me to really care. I live 1.5 hrs away and I’m already thinking about when I’ll return.

Lemon pepper wings and Habanero wings were good, Calamari was seasoned well and crunchy. Salmon was also good! Service wasn't good, waited over 20 minutes for anyone to address us. Once our order was taken the service was a little better. Atmosphere was great, diverse crowd and a great DJ!

Omgee Harlem Tavern was lit. They had a live DJ, staff was excellent. We were there with like a party of 10-12 ppl and the service was quick, food was delicious, and drinks were doing what needed to be done. Definitely will go again! Good crowd, lots of tables inside as well as under the enclosed tent. Tons of tvs!!! Great to watch sports or turn up. I absolutely loved the short ribs so tender and delicious especially being from a bar.

Harlem Tavern is a wide space with wonderful energy. My gf tried the Branzino omg it was delicious and full of flavor. I had the spicy tomato mussels and the sauce was delicious plus the portion was big enough for 2 people. I also order the steak sandwich that was full of flavor. Our waitress was wonderful and she also didn't rush us during happy hour. Btw if you go during happy hour the entire restaurant happy hour.😎

Have a wonderful lunch experience at Harlem Tavern. The food was ready in about 10 minutes and was delicious. They have several screens showing sports games. Staff were very accommodating as we had children with us.

Came through this past Sunday and had a great time for my first time here. Came during brunch time and the seafood gumbo was delicious. The chicken quesadilla was tasty as well with the steak and eggs. In addition, for brunch time it comes with different selection of drinks you can choose with your meal. I will definitely come back.

This is a busy local hot spot. My visit was on a Sunday during brunch. Tables were available but we opted for the bar to be away from the crowds. The Shocktop beer on draft was cold and delicious. I highly recommend the pot of mussels in spicy tomato sauce. It is served with garlic bread to soak up that great broth. Aside from that, we ordered fries, chicken, and waffles, which were all great as well. Looking forward to returning soon.

I had such a wonderful experience here. The food and drinks were amazing! I had the braised beef sliders with truffle fries and fish tacos, also washed it down with a Frozen Banana flavored Margarita. Delish! Will definitely be coming back.

I've gone to the tavern for years since they arrived to harlem. It fluctuates, they're on a high note!. The hostess were super friendly and got the perfect seat for me outside but can still feel the A/C. My server Sam was awesome and super patient. THE Flatbread is really insane!! So delicious..every flavor balanced. The sangria was refreshing and perfect for the heat. The Buffalo chicken wrap was no good, the chicken tasted like it was fried hard and then just sat. I was able to switch to the fish sandwich, that was perfect!

We hit this place up to grab a drink after dinner and before heading to a show, so it was a bit of a rush, but this place is a vibe! The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. Some girls behind us ordered some chicken wings, and they looked fire. Will definitely have to visit in the future to get a more complete experience.

Mac and cheese is delicious! Tasty appetizers! Get there between 4 and 7pm for Happy Hour. Dj is usually there by 8pm spinning good tunes on Fridays and Saturdays. Good place to chill, have a drink, get some good eats or watch a game. Customer service is always good!!!!

I've been here about six times over the last two years. Their lunch and dinner fare is leagues above their breakfast and lunch fare. Great service, inclusive establishment. Strong drinks. Photos are from my most recent visit a week ago.

My mom and I went here In Support of my sister working here and to be honest, it was one of the best experiences ever, we even partied with the DJ for a few, lol its an awesome place to get closer with those you love, and that's complete honesty.

Harlem Tavern is a vibe, if you know you know! We came to celebrate my bestie’s 50th birthday. We had a wonderful time, we enjoyed our food. We enjoyed the music all night long and were able to get our dance on and enjoy ourselves. This place and the bar area gets extremely crowded. I would suggest that you book a reservation in advance to ensure that you get seating. However, if you are at a table, I believe you have to order from the menu. Nice place, nice environment 🫶🏾

The place was filled with loud sports fans so we sat on the patio. We had the brunch special which included an entrée and a drink. We had peach Billings! The price was $19.95 and worth it! Our server was friendly and pleasant. I think her base was Kiki! I will go ba k again! I had lamb burger cooked to perfection! My son had huevos Ranchos he said it was delicious!

Harlem Tavern is a vibrant spot in NYC that offers a great mix of atmosphere, food, and drinks. The outdoor seating is spacious, so it’s great for a sunny day or warm night. They have a solid menu with comfort foods like the Tavern Burger and Buffalo Wings that hit the spot. The drinks selection is great too with plenty of craft beers and cocktails to choose from. Also the staff is super friendly- only did 4 stars because it was so busy, so we had a to wait a bit to put in our requests.

Great atmosphere and casual American dining. Fun place to hang out. Multiple screens if you like that. Food is good for typical fare but challenging for gluten free diets. But this isn’t that kind of place. No pretense. Just about having good vibes.

Being that I was already home, I called the restaurant to notify them of the mistake. They were beyond helpful and understanding. After walking over 30 km's, being a typical tourist, we saw this venue like a mirage. We willed our tired legs to walk the last few hundred metres to the blurry outline of the Harlem Tavern. After touching door we celebrated, as we knew a beer would soon be moistening our lips. But further good tidings awaited us, as we discovered an awesome selection of food. I sculled my beer 🍺 and scoffed a Turkey Burger in mere seconds. Fully sated, we were able to make it to the Subway and back to our AirBnB. 5 stars to this wonderful establishment.

I was excited when I saw Crispy Tofu Sliders. They are actually crispy & the little sauce wow 10/10. Truffle fries delicious 🤤. Bellini not on the menu however was made (bc I asked) with a peach puree. So flippin good! My friend brought me here for my birthday. My first time here. The food was delicious we tried a new item on the menu that was a healthier version of pizza I believe it was called flatbread pizza. Was this place recently renovated? It’s BEAUTIFUL and so clean. Outstanding food. A drink menu so huge, it was hard to choose. I wanted to try so much stuff. Our server Ramon was phenomenal and extremely attentive. I don’t want to give unrealistic expectations, but our drinks showed up in seconds and our food in less than 5 minutes it seemed. SO FAST! The kitchen staff def impressed. That fast with food that was so delicious AND beautifully presented? Y’all just showing off. Amazing.

Good fun place with friends or a date. I surprised a date and took her here on a Saturday night. When we first pulled up she thought it was a place for an outside mass. Inside is a large interior with big screen TVs on everywhere you turn. The DJ was an A+ in my book mixing old school R&B joints and had the place thumping. The waitress we had was very nice and friendly. The food and the atmosphere was off the hook. Beef ribs seem to sell out quick but I was satisfied with fried chicken and white country gravy with math potatoes. The drinks however left much to be desired and tasted watered down compared to other places where you can get stronger drinks for half as much. I also wasn't a fan of them including the gratuity into the bill. I was impressed with the closet style single restrooms and a towel girl who hands you paper towels after you wash your hands. All in all expect to spend about $100 or so just for drinks and dinner for two. I would definitely come here again but not in a frequent basis.

Went on a Friday night. Wasn't super busy or crowded. Food came out hot and beer came out cold. Watched a game and ate my sweet chili wings. Wait staff didn't hover but was on point when called upon. Not sure what it would be like if it were busy. But I enjoyed the atmosphere and had a chill time.

It's a nice looking restaurant. The staff are pleasant, efficient and competent. The food is good, you don't have to wait long for the meal to come. They do check your Covid card and Id if you want to enter without a mask.

Drinks are strong, food is good. It was my first time and I was surprised at the ambiance. It is very much a sports bar which was unexpected (to me) for the area. Made me feel like I was no longer in the city and maybe in LI or NJ 😅

They have a lunch menu that is a little cheaper than their dinner menu. Even though there are a lot of servers, the service is really slow. I saw a group of servers just chatting and being on their phones in front of the kitchen when I passed by them on my way to the bathroom. Overall, good food but definitely not a place to eat at unless you have no other plans after.

Stopped by for quick dinner. The waiter seemed a little disinterested but it was later in the evening... The spinach dip was excellent! Creamy & cheesy but not too dense, pitas bread was garlicky and not oily which was a perfect pairing. Drinks were delicious, we had the white sangria. my only gripe was my cup had a gnat in it and some other mysterious floaties which were very off putting but after I got a new glass I didn't see anything else so I was fine. I ordered some sides as well, mash was standard but good flavor. The green beans were a little bland, not much flavor and crunchy. I guess I like my green beans cooked a little more. The people I came with enjoyed their entrees (burgers) and overall it was a pleasant experience. I would return if ever in town again.

Ended up here on a whim just walking around Harlem on a Friday night. It was busy, however got seated upon arrival without a reservation. We sat on the outside covered area and the noise level was a bit much. Just be aware, not sure if in the proper restaurant/indoor area if it's any better. We ended up having to call him over after he passed by multiple times without even looking to see if we needed anything. To the point where we ended up ordering double drinks as we weren't sure when the waitstaff would return. The food was delicious. And honestly the savior of the review as the service left little to desire. Ordered the Pot of Mussels (2 ways...did the White and Spicy Tomato), I've only had in white sauce while my counterpart only had in tomato. I maybe bias but the white sauce is wayyy better. For mains ordered the Truffle burger (I love me some truffle) and the Codfish Po'boy sandwich. Ended up splitting both in half and sharing the other 1/2 with one another as they were so good. The burger was cooked perfectly and not overwhelmed with truffle and the codfish po'boy was crispy with the lettuce, tomato, mayo and the bread all adding to the flavor. I would go back and sit in another section to see if the service is the same all around or if we just had an off night for the gentleman.

I enjoyed the fish and chips. My friends enjoyed the salmon and salmon burger. It's a lively place with lots of TVs and music. We sat in the sunny area up front. Our server was chatty and great.

Great little neighborhood sports bar. Second time going and I would be back again. The food is good ( the burgers are amazing). The drinks aren’t water down as well and they have a good selection. They play good music and it’s at a decent volume which allows you to actually have a conversation with the person you’re with. Service is a bit non existent when you’re inside. We went out on a Friday summer night. The atmosphere was lacking, we sat outside but didn't get as much vibe as we were getting from the bar across the street that had lve entertainment. For a Friday evening it was lacking. The food was good. The drinks were pretty good. At the end of the evening we shared a virgin strawberry daiquiri, it was AMAZING! Our server was pleasant and gave perfect recommendations. We shared a variety of dishes and enjoyed.

Their food was good. I had an HT burger n truffle fries, which was delicious, Latisha had the jerk quesadilla, and Robinson had calamari and fish 🌮. The service was good. She was caring, making sure we were good and had everything we wanted. When the check came, we told her how much to charge, but she winded up charging $2 extra. Our total was $82.20 she charged $84.20, plus we gave her the 20% tip. She deserved it, but let us give it to you. She seemed to be the only waitress on the floor that I had seen, and it could have been a mistake also...all is forgiven. The atmosphere was a laid-back cool vibe. Music R & B was playing, not loud, just right. We had a great time and will go back again.

The food was good & the service was ok. The waitress had me waiting throughout my visit, and there were not a lot of customers at that time. There were some flies inside the restaurant and my table was very sticky.

They take too long to get your orders in. The hostess had to jump in to bring us our beverages. They need more staff, otherwise the food is great.

I went to Harlem Tavern on a Friday at 4 pm in November and the place was dead. When I left at appx 7:30 there were a few other people but there were a lot of empty tables. My lamb burger was juicy and tasted great. The goat cheese and pesto sauce complimented the meat. The truffle fries didn't leave a wow effect on my taste buds. My aunt had the seafood ceviche but couldn't enjoy or finish it because it was too sour. It was hard to taste the seafood because the lime juice was overpowering. I'll give Harlem Tavern another shot, as I must try other items on the menu before making a final fair judgment.

Great spot for groups, family and visitors. You will be in the company of a very diverse class of customers. Food and drinks are meet basic standard and most of the staff are busy focus on their jobs. The place is big with in door and out door seating. Young children are accompanied by adults.

They offer a large portion of food for really good prices. My only issue was that my food was cold coming out of the kitchen. Other than the atmosphere was good and the service was just okay. I will go again to see if things change.

we live in the neighborhood so we come here often for the convenience and for the outdoor seating on nice days. with that being said, whether busy or not, it’s like pulling teeth to get decent/timely service. (the kitchen is very fast though whenever the order is finally taken and put in) today we had: cheeseburger sliders- tasty but a bit dry and nothing to write home about. pot of mussels with white wine sauce. these were great! would order again and try the other sauces even though the white wine was fine caesar salad- super basic, chicken was on the tougher side and was missing the anchovies. side note: the lamb burger is still the best thing we’ve eaten here.

Nice place to have a quick bite. Upon entry no one was available to offer seating. 10 minutes later I decided to walk to the bar and seat myself (reason for 3 stars). The bartender was more engaged in his phone then service. No eye to eye contact at all. Very weird but on to the meal. Food was delicious! The Spicy Margarita IS DELICIOUS (a must try). I guess there’s good days and bad days, this day was crowded and ok.

It's a pretty and festive place the asmosphere is good and comfortable. We thought it was strange that they had a minor child being a hostess. The server seemed very unhappy and not attentive.If the service was good I've given the place a five. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon with only two servers. It took 30 minutes to get water, so by the time the server took our orders we were all disappointed with the restaurant. The food was not great, the quality of the food is not worth the high prices. That restaunt has become a fad not like it used to be. I won't go back .

I’ve been here 5011 times and I usually come when sports games are at the center of my outing. Gentrification is ruining everything. They didn’t even have the Knicks game on. Over 10 tvs and most playing hockey games and college football. Shameful. Food is average. Service is average on a good day.

Went in with high hopes. The band was playing, Ambiance was nice. Food left A LOT to be desired & wait staff was slow with refills. The prices were good but the garnishes on my salmon burger were not as advertised on the menu, I wanted lunch but was stuck with brunch and my mom’s chicken was very dry. Wouldn’t go back 🙁

First and foremost the atmosphere was good that's why you got a 2star if it wasn't for that you would've got a negative ⭐, the food was horrible... i had the filet salmon and asparagus and honestly the food was very greasy and tasteless, the mac and cheese was velveeta shells UNBELIEVABLE. The best thing about my visit was the fried calamari and the super fly drink. Sorry not sorry i won't return unless it's for an appetizer and a drink. Or yeah them chili wings was bland.

Don’t let the good photo fool you. Although the waitress was very and provided me with options for my wings, the wings itself were dry! Covered in sauce on the outside but when you take a bite it’s all dry.

1st let me say this place is great to go watch games and drink water and eat French fries. I say that because this food right here was so trash it was crazy everything didn't have seasoning. So if you're into bland food this is a place for you.

Maybe their night life is better than their day time lunch hours. I called ahead to see if they serve turkey burgers and was happy to hear that they do! I walked in around 2PM and the energy and hospitality was lack luster, as I was told to seat myself wherever. Initially I went to the bar where I was told happy hour does not begin until 4PM and only drinks will be served. So, I find a quiet spot in the corner between the threshold of the bar and dining room. The water glasses are already facing right side up on the table, and visibly dirty. I just asked for a clean glass, no problem. I’ll take partial responsibility for the fact that I was served a turkey burger with pork bacon on it. I ordered blindly without reading the menu, but I feel as though I should’ve been informed by my knowledgeable waitress. Regardless, I sent it back knowing they were just going to remove the bacon from my burger and reassemble it accordingly. To my dismay, my burger comes back with a hair on the plate. Mind you, it’s only 2PM. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional but at this point the cleanliness of this establishment is a cause for concern. In the end my meal was compensated, and I was no longer planning to leave this review due to their effort to rectify the situation. However, the opportunity presented itself when I was notified to leave a review😅

Let’s keep it short and sweet. Happy Hour is now 4-7 despite a sign saying 4-9pm. Buffalo wings are not buffalo. Tastes like hot sauce and a touch of sugar. What buffalo sauce is sweet? The wings are not crispy. They’re like pre-cooked then reheated with sauce. Definitely not freshly fried. This is sad because wings are so simple. Fried calamari was mediocre and not flavorful. It’s missing something and poorly breaded. They brought it out 2 mins after we ordered so maybe it’s from a box tbh. Short rib was pretty good. Potatoes were good and the rib was tender. It needed a little more spice though, it depended too much on the sweet sauce. Service was okay, maybe a little rushed because it’s so busy. They’re definitely understaffed. $75 including tip for 1 appetizer, 1 entree, 2 drinks. Definitely not worth it. I do not understand how their drinks are $14 in this area—we are not way downtown. It was too early for the music to be blasting the way it was. This is NOT the place to have a conversation. Great place to go by yourself for the loud atmosphere if thays you’re thing and watch the game.

The chicken and waffles here ended up being 90% waffle, like 10% chicken, which was pretty disappointing. Seriously, it was actually kind of amusing how small the chicken was compared to the size of the waffle. They put the eggs on top at first to cover it up, but it becomes clear once you take the egg off. Other than the tiny chicken, though, this meal wasn't bad. It came with country gravy and two eggs as a side - both of which were decent enough; my eggs were cooked a bit over-hard rather than over-medium, but not too bad. The waffles were really good. While I did have to ask for syrup from the server - it was very dry before that - after the syrup the experience became a lot better. These waffles were nice and thick throughout. The chicken was not good. There was absolutely no crust on the outside - I'm not even sure this was fried chicken; it just seems to have been baked. That certainly is not what one expects with a chicken and waffles dish. Just really bad. It's also just incomprehensible to me why there was a massive amount of a lettuce salad in the middle of this dish. Like why The price is the one thing that's not terrible here, as it cost less than 20 bucks for this plus a mimosa. That's a pretty good deal Overall, I've had a lot of chicken and waffles, but this might be the worst of the bunch. 3.5/10

My travel companion and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite and cocktail while we waited for our reservations at Melba’s. Thankfully this was just a stop. Had this been the destination I would’ve been incredibly disappointed the establishment being nearly empty the service was terrible. Bloody Mary 6.5/10 Heavy in the tomato sauce and light on the alcohol. Additionally, there were no additional love or accoutrements to help this beverage taste anything more than like leftovers. Jerk Chicken 7.5/10 Peach Fuzz 1/10 Do not recommend. My date sent it back. Rather my date tried to send it back but the service was so terrible. We ended up holding onto it for about 25 minutes before anyone came to our table to provide assistance. Salmon burger 7.75/10

The service at Harlem Tavern is the WORST dining experience I have ever had. I have been to Harlem Tavern multiple times and their quality of service is always horrible but my most recent experience was ABYSMAL. We saw in the restaurant for 2 hours waiting for our food to be served. When it arrived, our salmon was cold and uncooked on the inside. We ordered food to go for our family which came out incorrectly. We asked to speak to the manager, saw our waiter communicate this, and the manager couldn't spare 5 minutes to speak with us. Harlem Tavern shows no care for their customers, the quality of their food or other people's time. We would have been better off going to Chipotle than spending $150 on subpar service and uncooked food. There are too many good restaurants in Harlem to waste your money on such an unprofessional and inconsiderate establishment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Well I ordered calamari that was bland I don’t know what kind of dressings that was because it didn’t have any taste as for the sweet chili wings they were not well done it didn’t have no taste and no I didn’t have COVID I have my sense of taste so I asked the waiter to bring me some sweet chili sauce when I received it they added water to it to stretch the sauce unbelievable I’ve decided to give them another chance and ordered honey bbq wings epic fell the sauce was ketup and water never eating here again 📢🤦🏽‍♀️

Terrible brunch experience. Booked a birthday reservation specifically for a relaxed Jazz Brunch and were told there would be a band from 1-4pm. When we got there, we were told that it was cancelled because of basketball game. No one ever called or contacted us to tell us about this change. Instead of a chill brunch with music, we were seated in the middle of a rowdy sports bar at a dirty, sticky table. Staff was unwilling to let us sit outside even though there were several empty outdoor tables during our stay. Never again.

Been coming hear for years and the service has not been the same after the pandemic so have to downgrade my rating. The latest: Met a long time friend for drinks and dinner last minute and was glad the Tavern was scheduled to close at 12am (according to their website) , however, on this day everything was shut down by 11:30pm latest. I mean the music was abruptly turned-off, last-call was called, doors were closed, televisions cut off and frankly, killed our entire vibe and conversation and felt so rushed. To add insult to injury, they place the shut off TV directly in our line of sight, blocking our already obstructed view. 😡 I've eaten at restaurants all over the United States and usually restaurants don't do this until the stated time to close (12am according to their website) and even then allow customers to enjoy their meal and not just shut the music & TV off and turn the bright lights on. In the end, we cut our meal short (had no choice really) and took our half-eaten meals to-go, only to throw the enite thing in the garbage once we got home, due to cold and having to reheat the meals. Until they get back to their prepandemic standards, I'll be going across the street to Bistro Blvd.

THAT BALD SERVER WITH THE TRIBAL NECKLACE AND SUNGLASSES IS A TRIP. I’m in town for a funeral, so my brother, nephew, and I stopped by just to hang out, talk, etc. over food and drinks. The server was immediately rude. He pretty much refused to take our food order unless everyone ordered something…then he got aggravated because my brother did not specify a vodka brand when ordering off the cocktail menu, which an experienced server knows is house or well unless specified. LSS, at the end, my brother put down an $11 tip for a bill that was $90. Granted it wasn’t a huge tip, but the server wasn’t good at all. We just tipped because we understand that people need money in this economy. The server came back to the table and chastised us because the suggested amounts at the bottom of the receipt showed $14 for 18% and I believe like $18 for 20%. The server says this is not the right tip amount and started arguing with us then eventually just walked off with the money. I started to take the $11 back, but I figured he needed it more than we did. I don’t think that I would ever come back to Harlem Tavern, The BLVD is right across the street and the service was much better. DO BETTER.

The only reason for my 1* is that No business should serve tomatoes if they going to cut them looking like that and add them to a sandwich!!! But the chicken was cooked very good . The server was awesome . But also the bathroom i used was just dirty and this point should've take pics but people will see from themselves
