Came here with a friend for drinks and the service and hospitality was 10/10 and the drinks were on point. Wasn’t able to order any food this time but it looked delicious. Definitely great for a girls night and would love to try their dishes. Highly recommend

The place is gorgeous, maybe one of the mkst beautiful restaurants I've been on. It's really breathtaking when you walk in. The food was great and the portions are very generous. I don't know if it was because it was a busy night but the I feel the service was a bit messy. I was eatig alone and end up feeling a bit neglected. But everyone was very polite and sweet. Keep up with the great job guys! :)

Definitely one of my fave places now 😍 The duck was amazing, shishito peppers were a tiny too sour but the drinks wow.

For special occasions, my partner and I often come here. The food is well crafted, the atmosphere is great, the ingredients feel fresh, and the cocktails are consistently excellent.

This place is all about quality. Every ingredient tasted fresh and made to order, and the chefs truly know what they are doing. Service was excellent, the ambiance is gorgeous and cozy, and the mocktails were on point. Must-orders: oysters, shrimp dumplings, lobster noodles (star of the show), and malasadas. I really appreciate our waitress going above and beyond by offering to remove the lobster meat for us. Thank you Sofia! It can get a bit loud from 5–7 PM with the after work crowd, but it’s still absolutely worth it. 10/10. Add this to your list.

The decore is phenomenal with a lot of quality furniture. The menu and service, top of the line. I have been here several times now and Diego and Dino have provided nothing short but amazing service every time. The cocktail balance and selection is great, with a large variety from sweet to savory, there's something for everyone. The food was cooked perfectly as always, highly recommended the mussels and dumplings! Must visit bar of lower Manhattan

What a discovery! Not only did the meals, appetizers, and drinks exceed expectations, our server Sofia was phenomenal at making us feel welcome and offered dynamic recommendations. She is a gem! Eery touchpoint of Macao made it worth telling the world about.

We're from Toronto and were visiting our family friends in NYC. I must say, that Macao has been one of the BEST restaurants that my partner and I have ever been to. The bartender, Chelso, was an amazing vibe - beautiful cocktails and such a warm presence from the second we entered the room. We were a party of 8, started off at the bar for some drinks and apps - then sat down for dinner. Service was so gooooood! Danell and Unique made us feel like home and their hospitality was absolutely memorable. Unique was a wonderful server and I'd definitely come back when we visit New York just because of his service and personality. The food selection was flavourful and the steak platter was delicious!! They celebrated our friends birthday with such good energy and the atmosphere really made the night stand out. If you like good vibes, great food, delicious cocktails - this place is for you. Thank you Macao! We will be back soon :)

Loved this spot in Tribeca! I’m all about a fun food experience - not just great dishes, but the whole vibe - music, ambiance, service. This place really has character. It’s a Portuguese-Chinese concept with a menu with lots of seafood options and a pretty good cocktail list. Everything we ordered was great, but the standout for me was the steamed mussels - the coconut broth was so flavorful and delicious. Also, definitely recommend getting the BBQ short ribs with the vegetable rice. They compliment each other so well, though the rice lacked sauce. I didn’t get a chance to try their famous lobster noodles, but this is why I’m coming back. Perfect spot for a night out with friends or a fun date - just a heads-up, the music can be loud.

The restaurant offers a really unique menu (both food and cocktails). Upon being seated, I was greeted right away and put my order in pretty quickly. Everything was fantastic! The charred octopus and African chicken were great and looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

Came here on an early Friday evening with no reservations. Hostess sat us quickly. Within an hour the restaurant was packed. It looked like a nice ambience for date night. We just ordered a few apps. The glass noodles had lots of flavor. Waitress was nice and friendly.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Macao. Our bartender Dino was exceptional and went above and beyond to enhance our experience. He not only crafted delicious drinks but also took the time to explain every detail. If you visit, make sure to try the dumplings—they are an absolute must! The combination of flavors and textures was simply outstanding. We left Macao with great memories and will be back for sure!

Fun dinner spot! Came here for a 23rd birthday and had the best espresso martini of my life. I recommend the lobster noodles and the ahi tuna.

Solid spot in Tribeca for that unique Chinese-Portuguese fusion vibe. The atmosphere has a moody, old-Macao warehouse feel—dim lighting, eclectic decor, and a lively downstairs lounge—though it can feel a bit dark and cramped upstairs. Service was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails, and kept things flowing smoothly. Food was tasty and creative. Started with the chicken & pork belly dumplings (juicy and flavorful) and mushroom & truffle croquettes (crispy and addictive). Mains: African chicken was spicy and rich with that piri piri kick, and the Macanese lobster noodles were a highlight—tender lobster in a savory sauce. Portions generous, flavors bold. Great cocktails too! Minor note: a couple dishes felt a touch heavy/overseasoned, but overall very enjoyable for a fun night out.

5 stars for food, drinks, service, atmosphere - but have to take a star off for food prices. We ended up at $100 pp - with lots of vegetarian dishes, 1 drink per person, and 1 dessert split 5 ways, I don’t think we indulged. Favorites were baby back ribs, eggplant and shishito pepper sides, duck breast, every drink we ordered was great. Normally not a fan of octopus, but it was really tender. Skip the sundae, it was $25 but just tasted like a few scoops of coconut ice cream with random toppings that didn’t blend well together.

Been here several times and I really enjoy coming here! Made a reservation last minute for a group of 6 and they were able to accommodate. If it’s just you and one other person going, I recommend sitting at the bar. It’s comfortable sitting and quick services and a good time overall. My experience has been good for the most part each time I have gone except for 1 time. I ordered a whiskey sour at the bar while waiting to get seated and it was perfect but then once I got seated, I ordered another whiskey sour from our waitress (assuming her name was Jess but not 100% sure, that was the name on our receipt) and it wasn’t good. They made it different than the first one I had; the second one had no egg white foam, it had a lemon, and it’s tasted like a lemon drop and nothing like a whiskey sour. I kindly asked our waiter, Jess if it was possibly a lemon drop instead of a whiskey sour and explained why I thought that but she was adamant that it was a whiskey sour. I explained that my 1st drink didn’t have a lemon curl in there and it tastes sour and her response was “so what if there’s a lemon curl”…and she rudely snatched my drink and as she walked back to the bar, she sipped on it I’m guessing to prove whatever point she was trying to prove. She came back and replacement my drink which I appreciate but I just found that experience to be so “off”. I’m normally not picky at all and I try to be mindful based on how busy it is and I’m super kind when approaching waiters/waitresses about something I don’t like which is why I felt so annoyed about her response. If a customer doesn’t like something, why go back and forth with them…just simply replace it. It’s not like I’m asking for a whole meal replacement. However other than that one experience, everything else was great and the service overall was good. The manager (assuming he was the one wearing a suit) was super kind and checked in a few times. Still highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t done so. They also have a downstairs bar/lounge area where you can check out after dinner. The music was sooo good, vibes were fun, was a bit crowded to my liking but that’s expected.

Solid spot for Portuguese Chinese fusion food. Their cocktail menu was exciting too. If their price tag could be lower, I'd be a 5 star for me

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Macao Trading Company in NYC, USA. A Chinese-inspired fusion restaurant drawing on the multicultural history of Macau, once a crossroads of Asian and Western influences. The concept explains the eclectic menu, ranging from Chinese classics to more Western-style dishes. We tried the pork dumplings, which were good though a bit lacking in subtle seasoning, and the porterhouse steak, surprisingly well executed for a non-steakhouse — nicely seasoned and cooked, with decent meat quality. The interior is elegant and artistic, with a dark, moody ambiance, and service was reasonably efficient. It feels like a place that may have lost a touch of its former glamour, yet still remains a solid dining option if you’re in the area. The restaurant was rather quiet during our visit, which perhaps says something about its current stage — but it’s still worth considering for dinner, as long as you keep expectations measured.

Came here for dinner with a group of 8 to celebrate our birthdays. We made reservations 3 weeks in advance with Matt through email. 2 days before, got an email from Open Table that it was canceled. I emailed Matt right away and asked for the reason and he said it was an error and that our reservation is still confirmed for the 27th. Also called the night before the 27th to add a person to the party and the reservation was still confirmed. When we arrived, the host with the bob haircut told us it was canceled… 💔…. I showed her multiple emails as well as the Open Table confirmations , even from the night before. She just kept saying it was canceled and did not budge to try to accommodate us or find a solution. Danel (not sure if i spelled it right) came over and was very nice and professional. He told us that he will figure something out to accommodate us and apologized for the inconvenience and that this does not happen. He was kind enough to offer a round of cocktails (greatly appreciated) on the house while we waited for our table to be ready. Despite all of that.. The food was tea👌🏼The calamari was 10/10. The burger was fantastic especially the garlic aioli sauce that gave it a lil razzle dazzle ✨ The steak was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. S/O to Danel and the bartender for making our night better !

It's a beautifully decorated space. It has bar seats at the front and sit-down tables at the back. Cocktails weren't bad.

I loved the atmosphere. The modern dimlit take on a testing company office transported me far away. The music could be quieter though. The food was a bit uneven. I really liked the ants climbing the wall because of their intense flavor and slightly spice seasoning, and the coquettes were a second favorite. The staff was something else, very tender and delicious when served rare. The chicken and pork dumplings were unfortunately dry inside, and the market vegetable salad had too much lettuce. The portion sizes are good to share many dishes even in a small party. That means, they are not particularly big.

Food, service and atmosphere are great. I love decorations so much, pretty cool design and idea. When it comes to noodles, I found the minced pork one better than the lobster one, expected the lobster to have more of a buttery flavor. Dumplings are better steamed than fried, fried it just tastes like an empanada. The salad is also really good, recommend to order. I didn’t try the croquettes as I don’t like croquettes, but the table said they were really good. Skirt steak is very tender and lots of flavor, not your regular skirt steak. The drinks are good as well. I recommend the place.
