I recommend using the Chipotle App to order your food or else it could be minimum of 15 minutes in line to order your food. The place is always busy since it's close to Grand Central Station. Food is always great and the staff is friendly. This is the Chipotle I always go to when I visit Manhattan.
It was the best fast food I have ever eaten I don’t live in the US but I wish we had chipotle in my country . I’m so sad that I have so limited access to chipotle 😓
This team is probably the best chipotle in NYC. I go to many different branches in the city and can confirm the team and food quality here is outstanding. Francera (i think thats her name) works on Tues/Wed evenings and is an all star. Super positive attitude. She goes the extra mile for customers. I am a chipotle rewards member and probably eat there 120+ times a year so I think i have some credibility with this.
Consistent and quick service with fresh, customizable options. Great for a satisfying and casual meal—bowls and burritos are always solid. Good and convenient for a quick bite
My friends, staff and I have been to this store years ago and that all of us got the burrito bowl which was good. The service was perfect. The atmosphere was lots of people eating, waiting in line and others.
It’s a calm place the kids can be annoying tho
So I have been here multiple times and have always had a pleasant experience. It's always clean and food has been great. However I have only been here on weekends for lunch, so I can't comment on how it is during the work week.
Have to give a shout out, to the fantastic service, brilliant food and a helpful ear. Thank you ladies fir making mine and my husbands evening memorable.
Overall, the experience was okay. I’ve had Chipotle burritos before, and this one was noticeably less full than what I’m used to which was a bit disappointing compared to the price we pay. The location itself is quite small and could definitely use some improvement when it comes to cleanliness. Not the worst, but definitely not the best Chipotle I’ve been to.
I liked the bowl that I had ordered, good portion, just I felt tables etc can be lil more clean. Good lemonade options too
I came here recently on my lunch break and the experience was pretty good can’t complain. I got me a bowl with a tortilla on the side. My bowl had white rice, pinto beans, smoked brisket, lettuce, cheese, salsa, and corn. With sour cream and vinaigrette on the side. Shout out to the staff for giving me a water cup hassle free. It came out good how I like it but for $17 Chipotle need to slow down with these prices. Cava is next door might as well spend that amount there. The service is good for being a hectic part of Manhattan. Also, It’s really packed in there due to it being in midtown/5th Ave.
Great Chipotle meal. Standard food and quality. Four of us were happy with our meals. It's under scaffolding, so it can be a bit hard to see the location.
The food was fine but the staff was the most impersonal Chipotle I've ever seen. No one in line but they rushed rushed rushed me to hurry up. Plus there seating area want heated well, which, given this time of year and the cold temps, was uncomfortable.
Being buying Chipotle for years and always get great service everywhere I go, not this time. I asked for a cup after, I have bought my food and taken it out outside to Bryant Park however, he said, the cashier, that I have to buy something if I wanted a cup. Had to go and stay on line for 10 minutes to make a purchase to get a cup. Ridiculous.
They need to tone it down with the spices... My stomach was hurt after one meal
Starting with the place, its really messy everywhere and needs a deep clean. The food in general is fine, not the best but not the worst. Now the prices are really exaggerated, it’s not a big bowl after all and for that price I would expect a lot more food or better quality.
Theres quite a few of these in and around Times Square. The two that we've been two have very limited seating. It leads me to think that their restaurant is geared for take outs rather than encouraging people to sit in. Which is a bit surprising given this type of food is better eaten fresh
This chipotle is making up its own menu and charges. Second time i have an issue. Taking advantage of people visiting the area and mostly foreigners. We ordered a guacamole kids quesadilla and they wanted to surcharge for the guacamole saying that either you choose Cheese or you choose guacamole.. but not both which is non sense. It is actually in the Chipotle official website menu. A quesadilla with no cheese is not quesadilla. The guacamole is the protein so either chicken or guacamole. The place is also run like a street corner restaurant. Staff standing around in a corner and being loud. Yelling and joking around while customers wait. Empty and dirty containers on top of counter not taken away. Like 20 of them. Will be nice if corporation looks at this chipotle and straightens whatever is going on here.
The cashier charged me for guacamole that I didn’t get and rang me up for different meat than I ordered. I could tell before I spoke with her how she dealt with a customer that wanted to use the restroom I was going to have issues with her. She is very rude and you can barely understand what she is saying. The man who made our food couldn’t remember making it so eventually agreed with the cashier, so she would not refund me or try to correct her mistake. Very low class. The food was descent and I spent $70 so it’s pretty silly not to try to resolve the $3 issue. Never going back.
As a New Yorker I eat chipotle in many diff locations across 5 boroughs. Lately the food is horrible especially tonight. I visited this particular one around 5pm today. Ordered two bowls one burrito. Staff was great no complaints there. The rice was extremely under cooked and not even “warm”. The chicken was over salted cold and dryyyyyyy. I’ve never had such dry chicken before tasted as if it was leftovers prior day. The quality in food is lacking. I wasted 40$ here half the bowls went to the trash. Can you imagine biting into a cold hard rice burrito I won’t be getting chipotle for a long time grossed out at this point.
Terrible experience at this Chipotle. The workers were incredibly rude—got visibly annoyed when I asked about ingredients, like it was a burden to answer. Then, when I was paying for my tacos, they completely crushed my order. How am I supposed to eat it like that? When I pointed it out, they just said, ‘Tacos are served like this,’ which is nonsense. Awful service, ruined meal. Avoid this location
Good afternoon, I am complaining one of your Supervisors name "Sergio Santos" who works at this location at 9W 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036. On March 4th, at approx. 2:50 pm, I was waiting on the line to order food and I asked on of the associates to please give me the code to use one of the restrooms. When I approach to one of the restroom, I tried to use the code and I needed to use immediately and the right door was locked but when "Sergio Santos" came out from the restroom. He was very disrespectful and rude towards to me. Which he stated, look at the sign - "Can you read?" I found it unprofessional from his side to approach and question me about this. Also, he was very disrespectful and told me that I should read next time and walked away. At the front of the cashier, I asked who he was and asked his name. One of the Cashiers gave me his card name. Attached is the card with his name/phone information on it. I was treated unfairly and disrespected on his behalf. He should be discipline on his behavior and kind to customers. Especially, approaching unprofessionally. For this reason, I am asking someone to please have this resolved this issue. Manager or Supervisor should not be treating customers this way. Especially, in a fast and most busy location to serve fast food. I always been a loyal customer and coming here. I hope this will not happen again to any customer! I highly do not recommend coming here anymore!
Worst chipotle I’ve ever been to. No mild salsa, guac was not fresh. Closes at 11pm, but kick you out at 8pm to eat outside. They treat you like you’re not a human, and don’t care about you or your food that you pay a premium price for. I am extremely disappointed. What is Mexican without salsa???
This location is disgusting and disgraceful. No matter what time of day you come it looks like this. The employees working there have nasty attitudes. If you mention to them the table are not clean they say okay and keep talking. I guess their attitudes match the environment. Food is too expensive to have to walk in to a place that looks like this and be expected to pay 15 dollars plus for a meal and be greeted with nasty employees!! Do better!!!
Every chipotle always give less food than any other restaurant me and my wife goes too. Everytime that we ask for more protein chicken or steak they have a major attitude.
If i could put 0 stars everywhere, I would. No greeting, we asked for Pinto black beans and got the other ones, the portions served by the male worker were not generous at all, he messed up the orders and didn’t even wrap the burrito properly, said that we must get the chips ourselves and when i asked the female worker to heat up the completely cold tacos, she said that I must have chosen another kind of cheese…While having our cold messed up food in the restaurant, another worker was screaming and making weird noises, it was impossible to eat normally, because even our ears were hurting. Do not recommend. Hopefully they start training the staff better, because this is unacceptable.
So mediocre, treated me LIKE GARBAGE for wanting to use the bathroom even though I bought food. The bathroom is dirty and disgusting, the service is terrible and MARIA SHOULD BE FIRED, FIRE HER, she treats costumers like garbage.
I understand that crowds of tourists and repetitive work can make employees feel frustrated, but the staff urgently needs customer service training. There were several times when I noticed the cashier was more focused on talking to her coworkers than checking out me at the register. I was buying food during my lunch break and didn’t have much time, and I couldn’t wait for her to finish talking. Next time I was also surprised when I didn’t hear employee’s question, “For here or to go?” the first time. She started waving her hand in front of me and saying “Hello??” The restaurant was very loud, and there was no line behind me, so I didn’t expect such impatience if I couldn’t answer right away…
Absolutely abysmal and atrocious service - visited at 18:40pm on Wednesday 4 September. Dont usually leave reviews like this but staff were incredibly rude and disrepectful; continually rolled their eyes and were very rude to my mother who was trying to order and whom I was trying to help, as she wasn't familiar with the process. Staff would stare blankly at you at any questions, or just refuse to answer, and were very dismissive in their attitude and forceful when it came to payment. All reviews under this place talk about the service being poor also. Food is obviously decent, but go to a different branch nearby if you want a nice experience.
I had a reward for free guac or queso. I attempted to use this reward at this location and kept being denied. I was purchasing chips to go with it and the cashier kept telling me I could only use it if I purchased a bowl when the terms of the reward specifically said it could be a SIDE. I asked to speak to the manager and she gave me a hard time as well telling me the same thing. I ultimately had to go to a different Chipotle which gave me the side of guac without hesitation.
The portions here are absolutely tiny I was shocked at the amount of food I received, especially with the meat. Better to go to a different chipotle.
Incredibly rude and dismissive staff. Wife and I are locals that work in the area and go here often. Bought two fountain sodas and the cokes were just brown soda water. I let the girl at the counter know and immediately got nasty glares. A guy I think was their manager grabbed a cup, filled it with the bad soda and shook the cup at me going “see it’s fine”. I told him to taste it and see and immediately he tossed it. He went to the back and also just glared at me. Situation was saved by a coworker giving me bottled cokes instead and apologizing. Something the other two didn’t do. I don’t appreciate staff giving me dirty stares for telling them their soda was bad. I’ve worked in food service. It’s not that hard to just change out the syrup
Chipotle is supposed to customise the food to our preference. How is it going to be if the person making it does not understand a single word in English? Horrible staff, horrible experience. I might never have chipotle ever again 🥲
I’ve been eating at Chipotle for years and have never been this disappointed. Usually, they cut the quesadilla and serve it with some sides if it’s a bigger plate, but this time the way they served it was just not it. On top of that, all the servers had so much attitude. Be careful when you go.
DO NOT GO TO THIS BRANCH. The Staff (a woman served us) was rude. I asked for sour cream and there was barely one spoon left in the tray and i (kindly) asked if i could get another spoon and she said there was none but then she took out a new batch for the next person ???? she even reacted pissed that i asked for extra lettuce. THE BRANCH NEAR PORT AUTHORITY IS WAY BETTER AND HAS FRIENDLIER STAFF.
I had a terrible experience at Chipotle recently. I ordered a steak bowl and unfortunately, the steak was raw. Not only was this completely unacceptable from a food safety standpoint, but it also made me sick. I had to deal with food poisoning, which ruined my day and made me question their commitment to quality and hygiene. I hope they address these serious issues to prevent future incidents.
Worst chipotle I have ever visited.. Staff was inexperienced but very rude.. Quantity was less.
They say restroom is available for clients but when my 9 yr old needed to access it they said it was out of order. There are 2 restrooms and clearly one is for employee use only as we saw 3 members go in and out while we were having lunch. We kindly asked to speak to the manager to please get the code so that my kid can go but she insisted that they where out of order and that the employees where just using it to change clothes . I understand it’s a big city and they are trying to keep the homeless away however, I’m extremely disappointed on how the situation was handled and hope this review helps get the restroom situation fixed.
1. Racial discrimination, employees are careless and have bad attitudes, and the manager doesn’t care how to solve the problem. 2. The ordering was confusing. I said I wanted to take it away, but the employee ignored it. 3. When paying, you didn’t ask me which one I ordered. In fact, I ordered the barbacoa bowl and was charged the price of the chicken bowl. 2. I didn’t order extra lettuce, but I was charged $1.70 for sides. 3. Actually you are charging my friend for lettuce 4. When my friend ordered, she didn't get the normal portion of lettuce, it was much less than mine. So she asked for more lettuce. The server said extra lettuce would cost more and she refused. She repeated just more vegetable many times. Then the waiter agreed. But in the end you took our money again. 5. I have recorded a video of ordering (recording my life). 6. We requested a refund for the $1.7 sides and received an apology. So this is Chipotle’s service attitude? No one answered me! If there is no response, I will upload the video to the social media platform, you will lose not only us two customers, but thousands of people.
this place is actually horrible. i went into chipotle as i was in the area and needed a good meal for cheap. i went into chipotle 5 minutes after open, and the woman who served me was extremely rude and did not listen to what i wanted in my bowl even though i spoke very clear. she treated me as if i was i convincing her. there are way better options and friendlier service in the area, don’t bother with this place.
I came today around 9:15 to get 2 bowls and when I tell you they cant hear, THEY. CANT. HEAR!!! I asked for a chicken bowl and half carne asada but instead, they gave me carnitas. They kept pressuring me and was deaf as hell. Please take your business somewhere else. Male who took my order.
This chipotle is a disappointment. They told me they could not put the protein on the side for a kids meal quesadilla. Never heard of this rule before. Walked out and got my order at a chipotle a couple blocks away. Staff needs training.
The children's meal was extremely salty, as were the chips! Not sure who the cook was angry at today. We asked for different chips and git a bag that was half extremely salty and half not seasoned at all. Waste of time and money.
