What an amazing experience! Accepted my reservation early. Tasty non alcoholic drinks, I love the functional aspect! The hand rolls, 1000 layered potatoes and the poke bowl were so delicious! Cassi was amazing, the service was seamless and so quick. Multiple people helped me. I felt so welcome, thank you again for a top tier experience.

Best time! Wonderful service- all of the food is delicious. The miso eggplant is still my favorite. I recommend coming during happy hour (4-6 pm) where there are so many special prices for food and drink. My happy place

I’ve been to this place at least five times and have always enjoyed it. I recently returned for one of my belated birthday celebrations and had a cozy meal with a good time. However, one downside was that despite having a reservation for 7:45 pm, we weren’t seated until nearly 8 pm, which made the reservation feel redundant. Our waiter was very efficient and recommended some dishes which were tasty and enjoyable. ORDERED: Firecracker roll Torched & pressed Caesar salad Bang Bang Broccoli Singapore noodle Out of all the dishes we ordered, I really liked the torched & pressed and the bang bang broccoli the best, from my previous visits, I really liked the Dan Dan noodle and the unagi eggplant the best.

We had the most incredible experience at PLANTA! The food was absolutely exceptional, the service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We ordered the bang bang broccoli and the crispy rice for starters, and for our main, we ordered The Torched and Pressed, and Volcano roll. I highly recommend the Bang Bang broccoli (we didn’t get photos because we ate it too fast) which is a delicious creamy savory and fried broccoli, and the torched and pressed which is a phenomenal avocado roll with truffle. Will definitely be going back anytime I visit NYC!

I was taking my best friend to the Empire State Building for her birthday and since she leans more plant based, I did a quick Google search for a plant based restaurant nearby. Made reservations at Planta and I’m so glad I did. This place was amazing. Decor was chic, the service was phenomenal, the food was delicioussssss! The cocktails were good. I would recommend this place to anyone. Prices were expected since it’s NYC. Our waitress made great recommendations. They keep the tables clutter free throughout the meal, which I really appreciated. Only thing was the music was a little loud.

Lovely spot with great vibes! I had the salmon tofu from the happy hour menu and it was absolutely D-licious. The firecracker wings were also on point, and my Aperol Spritz was just as it should be. I walked in without a reservation and got lucky with a table—by 5 PM on a Monday, the place was already packed! Definitely recommend booking in advance. Shoutout to Aiden, who was super attentive and friendly throughout. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. The happy hour here is a winner!

Everything was delicious. Bang bang Broccoli was one of the highlights from reviews & it definitely did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly. The Crispy rice was good but size wise a little underwhelming. The Rainbow Roll made up for all that the crispy rice lacked, the way each ingredient meshed so well together created a perfect bite every time, I couldn’t get enough. The true highlight for me was the Unagi Eggplant, $6 for 2 is an amazing price too. I’ll be ordering 2 next time! Came for dinner on a Saturday night & the vibes were great— not too loud but very lively! It’s a beautiful high ceiling & open floor plan space. The bar looked beautiful, wouldn’t mind coming in to sit there! Can’t wait to return. Service was friendly and attentive!

We went for dinner here for the first time and was genuinely surprised at their vegan menu which was diverse and so so appealing in terms of taste. The hostess was amazing and seated us at a place that would be convenient because we had a stroller and a sleeping baby inside it. We had spicy tuna roll, dragon roll, 1000 layer potatoes and kimchi fried rice plus drinks. Every dish was on point in terms of flavor and presentation and we were a satisfied and well fed couple by the end of it all. Definitely recommend for its taste and easy going atmosphere and friendly servers.

This was an amazing restaurant! The waiters were friendly and the food was top notch with many options for gluten free people and an all vegetarian and vegan menu.

One of the must visit vegan places in Manhattan. I recommend making a reservation before visiting this kid friendly place. Everything we tried tasted great. The Dan Dan noodles was our favorite. My toddler liked their truffle fried rice. The Dragon rolls were good. My family also liked the 1000 layer potatoes. Don’t sleep on their cocktails as everything we tried was great as well. We ended our brunch with brownie and latte. Even their oat milk Latte was amazing.

Incredible vegan meal, was hard to pick a favorite dish so I ordered a variety of appetizers. Very creative use of vegetables and funky twists on Asian fusion food. Would highly recommend, even for non vegans the food quality and flavor was spectacular

The sushi here has taken top spot in my all time favorite dining experiences My usual plant based sushi is relatively basic veggie rolls and it was so amazing to have fancy rolls like these! We ordered the thousand layer potatoes, the red dragon, volcano, torched and pressed and the spicy tuna roll, all of which were amazing! We also topped it off with the matcha cheesecake which again was insanely good! Staff were all friendly and attentive and all of our food came out promptly We paid less than expected as we had a good coupon and we came during happy hour and Maki Monday but I would pay the regular price to have this again :)

I have been to Planta more than 4 times now! I am a preferred vegetarian and love this place because the menu is all vegan. Every dish in the menu is mouth watering! I got my mom here too and she liked it so much that we came back twice. It is great to see how they keep changing the menu so everytime you visit you can expect so try new dishes. However, I want them to bring the rainbow sushi back to the menu it was my favourite!!! Overall great food, great service, awesome location and one of my favourite restaurants in NYC.

This beautiful vegan restaurant has amazing a delightful menu. Really nice and attentive service, beautiful decor. I ordered the 1000 layer crispy potatoes, it was so filling I didn't get to try anything else. The iced coffee was perfect, the quality of the food and drinks is top tier. The prices are reasonable, the food is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back to try more of the menu on my future travels.

Visited this place after couple of years, and I was pleasantly surprised! Last time was okay, did not like it much, but this time we came for lunch/ brunch on Sunday and it was great! Our server was great, he helped me with no onion no garlic options available, the maki roll - avocado cucumber was great, and so was French toast. The mint lemonade was good too. My other family members ordered thousand layer potatoes which was okay, the Singapore noodles and burger were amazing. Overall, recommend this place

A full vegan restaurant with so much variety and amazing dishes. We reserved a table for Monday evening dinner with friends. Our table was ready at scheduled time upon arrival. The has two floors, the big bar is on the first floor, lower floor has a smaller bar and few more dining space, with some wonderful interior. The menu had lots of small plates, sushi rolls, shareable entrees and of lots of drinks. We ordered 10-12 items all together. Most of the dishes were really incredible. Some of the best ones were bang bang broccoli, bao slider, avocado lime tartare, chili garlic tofu, dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. All items came out at a decent pace, we were able to enjoy the dinner for almost 3 hours. The 500ml sake was got enough for 2 rounds of shots for 4 people. I liked the cucumber mint lemonade as well. We ended the dinner with a chocolate brownie and matcha cheesecake, both were decent dessert items. The service was amazing throughout the night. Our server was a pro. He kept checking on the table, took out empty plates, kept filling up water and drinks. Never thought a vegetarian restaurant could be this much creative and popular, was really amazed by the experience.

Amazing vegan asian fusion restaurant in New York. Food was phenomenal, service was amazing and atmosphere was fantastic. If I could give them six stars I would!!! So refreshing to have a full vegan menu to choose from with no limitations on which dishes you need to choose. Quality of ingredients used were amazing and I couldn't fault a single dish. Highlights were the Bang Bang broccoli and twice fried potato stacks. Also of note were the so a noodles with satay sauce. We will definitely return if in New York again.

I was blown away by this spot!! This is probably my first time having Asian fusion vegan food and I was not disappointed. I’m shocked at how the spicy tuna sushi almost tasted just as good if not better than regular sushi! The bang bang broccoli was also to die for. All that to say, every bite was absolutely divine and I am already dreaming of coming back! 10/10 would recommend.

We had a lovely experience tonight (Christmas Eve). The restaurant was bustling and we were quickly escorted to our table. Katrina was our server and provided such detailed descriptions of the items we were considering that we ordered everything Katrina recommended, and we’re so grateful!! The food was decadent, kimchi baos (my favorite), bang bang broccoli( so crispy), and unagi eggplant(no eel please 😊) were remarkable. Brisket kimchi fried rice (how is this not “brisket”?) and udon noodles with blackened tofu…. YES, and YES! Aside from the delicious food, we truly appreciated the overall vibe and how sweet all the people who interacted with us were. It’s a very warm and comfy setting, serving up some of the most amazing vegan food I’ve ever had. Thank you Planta Queen and thank YOU Katrina ❤️

Food was so good at lunch that I came back at dinner too to try other menu items. I had the Singapore noodles, thousand layer potatoes and the Vietnamese iced coffee for lunch - all so so tasty and good portion size, and the waiter I had was excellent, very attentive, friendly and chatty. Good gluten free options and the restaurant is beautiful, only downside was at dinner it was incredibly noisy and difficult to hear conversation across the table. Would for sure come back though.

The three of us shared the Baked Crab Roll, Queen Caesar, Bang Bang Broccoli, 1000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, Udon Noodles, and Singapore Noodles. For dessert we shared the Pumpkin Cheese Cake. All were delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely ambiance. Very popular too.

Exceptional vegan food that makes you forget that you are at a vegan restaurant, with strong Japanese, Asian and some new American influences. Decent prices, nice ambience and wonderful selection, primarily designed for sharing with a group. They have great daily specials/ deals as well. Very strongly recommend. Our favorites were the torched and pressed Maki roll, Bang Bang broccoli and the special Black summer roll but everything we had was great and bursting with flavor. Our favorite dessert was the matcha cheesecake. The mocktails were also quite good, especially the spa day rose.

Our server was great. We really didn't know what we wanted to order and he was patient and made some suggestions. We were seated in the lower level and wasn't sure I would like it, but it was definitely quieter and quainter. There's a bar down there too so it felt lively and not like an afterthought that many lower levels of restaurants can (basement). The decor and vibe followed through on the lower level. Singapore noodles were really tasty. Great flavor profile. Torched and Pressed sushi had a nice truffle flavor, but it was slightly soft with no texture. The rice was not like sushi rice. It was almost like a soft dough. Hard to explain. Could have used a little texture in the bite. Bang Bang Broccoli was really tasty but I didn't realize it was fried. (doesn't say on menu) I would have preferred it to be fresh, but the flavor was great and we used the extra dipping sauce to give more flavor to the Torched and Pressed sushi The Queen Caesar was excellent and the nicest presentation of all. We added some lemon juice and it elevated the flavor so much! They should add lemon! Bao Buns were not good. Unfortunately, we ordered one for each of us. Would definitely skip that next time. It was just dough and some "meat" inside. No flavor, no sauce, bland. Nothing special. All in all, it was a great choice. So nice to have a vegan restaurant that even non-vegans will find delicious and beautiful.

K
Karthick Ramani

This was my first time going to a vegan restaurant and I have to say my mind was blown by the variety and the flavor profiles of the dishes on offer. The vibe is fantastic and so was our waitress and the food. We ordered from the lunch menu (app + main course + dessert for a fixed price) and the portion sizes were huge. The "sushi" rolls were excellent and so were the drink selections on offer. Definitely give it a try if you are vegan/vegetarian and are looking for a party in your mouth.

G
Gelli De Asis

I was surprised how delicious the sushis and desserts were. My favorites are the black pressed and volcano. And for desserts, I enjoyed the strawberry matcha tiramisu. The banana pudding is also so yummy! The ambience is topnotch. The only downside for me is the wait time. We had a reservation but we still waited 30-40mins before we got seated. Once they get your order though, it’s decent wait from there. Would def come back!

It's one of our favorite vegan spots in the city! The food at Planta Queen is creative, well seasoned, and really delicious. This was our second time visiting, so we each ordered an entree to share family style. The broccoli, zucchini and eggplant fries, and Japanese sweet potatoes were my favorites this time around. The olive oil cake with sorbet is also very yummy! Their non-alcoholic beverages are super tasty - I recommend their watermelon juice 😋. The staff are all very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. If you have allergies, they'll let you know what to skip and what can be modified. I will definitely come back again for a third visit!

M

Every bite was amazing. The drinks are delicious too. My friend suggested this place to me because I wanted to try and get away from meat. The watermelon sushi was SO good! And the poke bowl was my friends but he let me try it! Awesome! I’d come back to NYC just for this place!

Planta Queen is one of the most consistent vegan restaurants in NYC. Everything I've had here so far has been tasty and the portions aren't skimpy, which is much appreciated. On this visit, a friend and I ordered the tofu 'salmon', Japanese steak, crispy 1000 layered potatoes, baby gem green goddess salad, carrot cake and banana pudding. All delicious and the Japanese steak was the best preparation of the Chunk Steak I've had so far from different restaurants. We were sat in the dining space below the main floor. It has a different feel but nicely done too. As always, the staff were friendly and professional. My only criticism is that the music is always too loud. This makes diners raise their voices to be heard which creates a cacophonous atmosphere. A quieter vibe would make for a much more pleasant experience. Planta Queen is one place I feel confident recommending to anyone. If you're someone who's hesitant about trying plant-based food or knows someone who is, Planta is the place to dispel any fears of bland, unsatisfying food. Come and enjoy!

Used to love the location in Williamsburg but since they closed I’ve been to this location a few times and it’s just as good! We’ve sat at the bar twice so far and the bartender, Sophia, is absolutely wonderful! She always has great recommendations, a great attitude, and good conversation. We honestly get so excited every time we’re back!! One of my favorite places to come when I’m in the city for sure. Can’t go wrong with the Lych Please and lilac you lots drinks! And highly recommend the crispy mushroom hand roll! Also love that they always have gluten free soy sauce and lots of GF options.

Went here for my graduation with a group of 8 people. We had originally reserved lunch for 3 but things ended a little earlier so we got there at 1:45 and they were flexible. We only had to wait 10 minutes before being sorted. The food was so so good; I could barely even tell it wasn’t real meat or fish. And the prices are really good too. Would definitely go back!

Came here on a date night and also in search of a new place now that our beloved Red Bamboo closed. Service was wonderful, thanks to Danny tonight. He was attentive, kind, paced our outrageously large order (we had to try most to find our favorites) and made our evening fun. We will be back! This place is a delight! If you don’t come for the food (alone) come to meet Danny, he’s awesome! Stand out dishes were the chicken fried mushrooms, bang bang broccoli, beef and broccoli and the sticky toffee pudding was beyond good.

Plant queen never ceases to amaze us! I’ve been to numerous of its locations and I love it every single time. We started with some really refreshing (non alcoholic) drinks followed by sushi, bang bang broccoli and truffle rice(I was too busy devouring those dishes to take pictures, sorry about that). Ended our dinner with chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream. One place I’d recommend anyone who wants to try delicious vegan food would be any Planta chain restaurant :)

I'm a huge dessert fan So I'll start there and recommend the matcha cheesecake..... Whipped cream, graham cracker crust and berries!! The kimchi baos and crispy gyoza were delicious. The cocktail menu is awesome.....the mezcal me maybe was delicious.... They also have spirit-free drinks as well and beer and wine to choose from. The wafa crunch salad is definitely worth a try. It's got a great atmosphere and really cool vibes....

Planta Queen is TASTY! I had the House Burger which tasted great and I also had the Korean Chik’n Sandwich which is one of the best sandwiches I’VE EVER HAD! Planta Queen was one of the highlights of my visit to NYC. We went for lunch on a weekday, and the place was moderately crowded. We were seated immediately by the staff, who were cordial and welcoming. They thoroughly answered all of our questions about the menu, making sure we understood what we were being served. Food: We ordered the unagi eggplant nigiri, the crispy mushroom hand roll, the baby gem green goddess salad, the summer rolls, the Singapore noodles, and General D's Cauliflower. The eggplant nigiri was the best out of the bunch in my opinion. The rich sauce, soft rice, and savory eggplant all combined to make this a spectacular bite. The mushroom hand roll had a multitude of flavors in it, including a sweet sauce, herbal flavors, and the saltiness of the fried mushroom. It was truly a complete and satisfying bite. The baby gem green goddess salad had an amazing dressing that brought the entire dish together. It was too good to describe-you'll have to try it for yourself. The summer rolls were probably the freshest veggies I've ever had. The herbs (lemongrass?) that were in the roll made seasoning unnecessary. The Singapore noodles had a surprising Indian twist to them. I enjoyed the curry flavor and southeast Asian seasonings. General D's Cauliflower was, in a word, awe-inspiring. The crispiness and saltiness of the cauliflower went perfectly with the sweetness of the sauce. The masterstroke was the pineapple, which increased the dish's depth of flavor exponentially. Overall, Planta Queen is one of my favorite restaurants, ever. If you're in NYC, eat at Planta. You won't regret it.

I've been to a few other Planta locations in the past. I didn't know there was one in NYC. So, when I stumbled across it, I knew I had collect my next infinity stone and try it out! Love, love, loved it! I tried the Bang Bang Broccoli and the Beef and Broccoli as part of the lunch menu. Now, I know what you may be thinking, that's a lot of broccoli. My server said the same thing and I let him know I love broccoli! Take heed, it was delicious. Two different flavors and the entree filled me up so quickly because it was incredibly savory. I had a ton of broccoli, beef (mushrooms), tofu and rice to take back to my hotel. They wrapped it up nice and tight, juices and all in a box. I wasn't sure if it was going to hold yet they reassured me it would. I trusted them, it worked, and I completely bashed the rest later that night. That day's delights were just what I wanted after a day of perusing the city! Can't wait to go again! Also, find the next Planta location. Maybe I'll do the Planta Queen in DC! It's a date!! ;)

The best!! The sushi here is so so good. I am a sushi aficionado and when I first heard about Planta (which is 100% vegan sushi) I was skeptical… When I tried it I was AMAZED. It was so good I went back twice in the same week right after I tried it. I can’t get enough. If you’re dining in the setting is gorgeous! If you’re getting take out or delivery the packaging is really beautiful and fun!

Had a wonderful experience at Planta in Manhattan. It’s a fully vegan restaurant, which is already impressive, but what really stood out was that they were able to accommodate Jain dietary requirements as well, which can often be challenging to find. We tried the Kimchi Rice, sushi, and noodles, and everything was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The dishes were creative while still being comforting and satisfying. The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and made sure all our dietary needs were properly understood and accommodated, which we truly appreciated. We visited again after 4 years, and it definitely did not disappoint. The quality, taste, and experience have remained consistently great. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious plant-based dining in Manhattan.

Planta Queen is delicious! Everything’s vegetarian, yet bursting with flavor — Asian-inspired dishes that make you forget meat exists. Cocktails are solid, and I loved it even as a non-vegan. Highly recommend going there for happy hour during the week, they have a selection of small plates at a great price.

Every dish we tried was delicious! For sharing we had the Korean Baos, 1,000 layer Crispy Potatoes and Chick’n Fried Mushrooms. Each plate was delicious and good portion size to share between two. The truffle fried rice was delicious and good size for sharing as well. The Dragon Roll was delicious. Food was delicious. The restaurant has a cozy, serene atmosphere and it was peaceful. Server was very attentive and treated us well. Would recommend!

Excellent vegan restaurant with lots of delicious options. Loved the spicy tuna, and the dan dan noodles which had a lot of flavor! Had the udon noodles as well but did not like them as much as they were a bit heavier but still good! Usually they get pretty busy so reservation is recommended and might still be a bit of a wait with that too but staff are very helpful and try to get you seated as quick as they can. Great service overall!

Recently celebrated my 12 year veganniversary here at Planta Queen! It wasn’t my first time there but first time being seated upstairs. The restaurant is beautiful and I love that they don’t rush you out the door. We were able to savor our food and have such an enjoyable dinner. Our server was great! It’s hard to pick a favorite dish but probably my beef rice would be my pick. We had the watermelon mocktail which was tasty. The friend I took with me is not vegan but she couldn’t stop saying how great the food was. By the end of our meal she said it was in her top 5 restaurants of all time. The flavors and quality of ingredients are top notch. Definitely one of the best vegan restaurants in the city.

Had dinner with my wife on a busy weeknight. Ordered one main and about 2 appetizers and 2 rolls. The 1000 layer potato was good but nothing new Crispy rice was amazing Dan Dan noodles and the dragon roll were good But the Torched and Pressed was one of the most unique things I've tried.. If you are going here try the TnP.. Also ask for a table on the main floor and not the basement, the basement is not bad but clearly not as awesome as the main floor

We stumbled upon Planta Queen last night and honestly, what a gem. It’s a fully vegan restaurant, and absolutely everything we tried was delicious. We made last minute reservation and ended up waiting about 20 minutes past it, but it wasn’t an issue at all since the place was clearly very busy and buzzing. The restaurant itself is super cute and aesthetic with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. They have a full open bar, and while waiting for our table we were able to sit at the bar and order drinks, which made the wait feel effortless. The service throughout the night was great. We started with appetizers and everything was a hit. The thousand-layer potato topped with caviar and coconut sauce was incredible, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also ordered the crispy dumplings, which had a delicious filling, and the dragon roll, which was so refreshing and light. They even brought out bang bang broccoli on the house with hot sauce and spicy mayo, which was such a nice surprise and tasted amazing. For entrées, we ordered the steak udon noodles with truffle sauce, which were absolutely delicious, along with the truffle fried rice that was so good it instantly became a favorite. Everything felt flavorful yet light. We were full by the end but not overly stuffed, just perfectly satisfied. The drinks were immaculate. I especially loved the hibiscus drink, which was so refreshing and well balanced. I would definitely come back again to try more items on the menu. I highly recommend making a reservation, but even if you walk in, the bar area is a great option to grab drinks while you wait. Overall, such a great experience and highly recommend.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch. Fast service of flavor filled dishes. The layered crispy fried potatoes - goodness through and through. Poke bowl - another tasty combination with a variety of textures in one dish. Got bites of my husband’s orders - a cold Japanese salad and a hot, spicy cauliflower dish; both worth savoring. Person delivering dishes seemed disengaged or maybe really busy. Dropped off dishes quickly then walked away without making eye contact. Maybe that’s a NYC thing; then five star service.

incredible vegan food! i came here for dinner on my first night in nyc as i had heard so many positive things about this place. the ambience of the restaurant is amazing and it is great to see a fully vegan restaurant be so full. we ordered the bang bang broccoli, gyoza, spicy ahi tuna roll, and the crab roll. the ahi tuna was a standout - they make the tuna with watermelon and it is so delicious! the service was very attentive and we felt very well looked after. i dined with someone who wasn't vegan and they were also very impressed with the food. i will definitely be returning next time i am in nyc!

Great place with good ambience and service. The food is great too. I’ve tried their brunch and sushi varieties and appetizers. Loved their bang bang broccoli and sweet potato/tater tot appetizer. In the sushi really enjoyed their volcano and red dragon roll

I went here with my ex to reconnect. Jose was an amazing enthusastic server and made it feel normal. He curated an experience thst felt otherworldly. Jose even asked our allergies to look out for us. The food was superb. The acoustic could have been better - overheard too much. The bottomline is that I enjoyed myself and plan to come back.

A large group of us went to Planta Queen Nomad for lunch today! This place is amazing. These are food scientists/chefs/magicians. I don't know how they did it but they made caviar and it was fabulous because it wasn't actually fish eggs 😂😂😂 the food is like artwork and we enjoyed that it came out in stages because we were stuffed already just after the appetizers lol. The desert was totally on point as well and the coffee and all the drinks we had were delicious! I love supporting fully plant-based restaurants, way to go New York City!!!

As a Non-vegan...lol....I had a great experience. Our server, Dan, was the greatest. He was patient and answered all our questions and made spot-on suggestions. The cauliflower "wings" were delicious. Good drinks....the place is gorgeous, hosting families and lovers. I will definitely be returning

Decided to try this place because the menu looked so good, and as a non vegan I can say the food was very tasty. I’m impressed how the combination of the food and flavors worked well together. The only con was that the service was a little slow and we had to wave down our waiter a couple times. Otherwise, everything was great.

This place is definitely a hit. I was pleasantly pleased with almost everything I had. I had a 7:45pm reservation but when I arrived the host Jack informed me that they may ve running a little behind. As I found somewhere to wait we noticed that there were 2 bar seats open, considering we weren't coming for the ambiance but moreso the food the bar was the best option and it didnt disappoint. Tiara, our bartender was nothing short of fantastic. Her knowledge of the menu and her engagement was spot on. The seats were comfortable and it was just an all-around great experience. I cannot wait to return.

This is an exquisite dining experience if you are vegan, vegetarian or just appreciate great vegetarian food. They have daily specials, but the key to having a good experience is to go early. There is quite a long wait, even with a reservation we waited about 40 minutes to be seated. My friends and I went on a Monday for their all you can eat sushi special. It was a popular option though, the kitchen was backed up with orders, so I would not recommend ordering this if you go after 8pm, they may not be able to accommodate. They only allow one roll per person at a time and they were anticipating 45-60 mins for rolls to come out. They also price sushi special on Monday, where maki, nigiri and hand rolls are $9 and under. The highlights were the crispy rice tuna, dragon roll and glazed miso roll. Meal and ambiance were fantastic, flavorful and filling. I recommend getting a spread with noodles, rice and some of their wok or small plate items. Overall this was an incredible and enjoyable meal and great if you are boujee on a budget, but love fine dining!

We went to this place for dinner and tried the Bang Bang broccoli, which was very good. I also tried the Dan Dan noodles but didn’t like it that much. It lacked in flavor and wass pretty bland. We also tried the truffle fried rice, which was just okay. The ambiance is nice, and maybe the drinks are too (though I didn’t try them), but the food isn’t worth the hype.

My friend treated me to a vegan dinner for my birthday. As someone who’s been vegan/vegetarian for 7 years I have high expectations for a restaurant that is FULLY VEGAN. This place was gorgeous. I absolutely loved the decor and ambiance, it was giving jungle, boho, Tulum vibes. The drinks were yummy and service was so attentive and kind. The food, though, I feel could have been a little better, like a tad bit more flavorful. It’s almost like there was just one ingredient missing from every dish. It wasn’t bad necessarily but considering this is upscale dining I expected a little more. I did absolutely love the tofu-based matcha cheesecake! I wish I had a piece right now as I type this 😋

We went as a family and have been before. The food is pretty good, but often they run out of specials and even some main dishes especially on weekends. Recently, we got there before 7 pm, but they had already run out of the torched and pressed maki rolls and matcha tiramisu. The bang bang broccoli and Japanese sweet potato were the best dishes. We found the lettuce wrap filling was salty and needed more lettuce. Beef broccoli was bland, and we wouldn’t get that again. Cold sesame noodles lacked acid and salt. The chik’n sandwich is tasty with a generous portion of fries and their vegan mayo is very good. They have changed their menu and some items like their dumplings are no longer on the menu. The closest alternative, gyoza, is not great. While service was good, it does get noisy and crowded. Also there isn’t much space on tables so when dishes start piling up, we have to make do. Previous visits were better. We enjoy Planta overall, and have a lot to choose from.

Overall, the flavors were clean and enjoyable. The spicy tuna roll wasn’t quite my favorite — the rice was a bit too soft and the filling felt a little too blended for my taste. The tuna and unagi sushi were very fresh and delicious, though I found the portion size a bit smaller than expected.

Really good drinks, Lych Please (lychee with hibisucs) one is good. Tofu is a little bland. Korean baos were really good. 1000 later crispy potatoes was not good at all. Felt very oily with almost no flavour. Firecracker wings (cauliflower tots): on a little sweet end. Crispy gyoza (dumplings), truffle fried rice, singapore noodles, udon noodles and matcha cheesecake are really good. Dan dan noodles are also good. Service is good.

Planta Queen on 27th Street in NoMad continues to reign as a standout in the New York City dining scene, particularly for those seeking an immersive and aesthetically pleasing experience. My recent visit, while not quite reaching the soaring heights of my inaugural trip, reaffirmed its status as a highly recommendable all plant base spot, especially for its truly exceptional atmosphere, decor, and service. Planta Queen is combined with the warm, inviting lighting and thoughtful design elements, creating an atmosphere that is at once sophisticated and incredibly relaxing. It's an ideal setting for a date, a celebratory meal, or simply an escape from the urban bustle. The decor, a masterful blend of natural elements and elegant finishes, genuinely transports you, making it one of the most visually stunning restaurants in the city. The service, too, generally lives up to the restaurant's regal name. From the moment we were greeted, the staff exuded professionalism and genuine warmth. Our server, despite the bustling environment, was attentive and knowledgeable. It's worth noting, however, that on this particular busy evening, the initial ordering process was a touch slow. We found ourselves waiting a bit longer than ideal to place our drink and food orders. This was a minor hiccup, though, as once the order was in, the kitchen proved impressively efficient, and our dishes arrived remarkably quickly. The staff's polite and helpful demeanor throughout our meal helped to smooth over any slight delays. Now, onto the culinary experience. The food at Planta Queen remains undeniably good, showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations. However, it didn't quite "wow" me in the same way my very first visit did. While everything was well-prepared and enjoyable, that initial spark of culinary surprise was subtly missing. Perhaps it was the heightened expectation from a previous stellar experience, or perhaps a slight shift in the menu, def loved the broccoli app and cauliflower wings, but while satisfying, it didn't leave the same lasting impression. It's still delicious, and certainly a cut above many other establishments, but that extraordinary element from my initial encounter was just shy of being replicated. One aspect to be mindful of at Planta Queen, particularly during peak hours, is the seating arrangement. While the overall ambiance is fantastic, some tables can feel a little close to neighboring diners. This can occasionally impact the sense of intimacy, especially if you're looking for a very private conversation. It's a small trade-off for the otherwise expansive and beautiful environment, but something to consider if personal space is a high priority. In conclusion, Planta Queen on 27th St in NoMad remains a jewel in the city's dining crown. Its unparalleled atmosphere, stunning decor, and generally excellent service create a truly memorable experience. While the food, though good, didn't quite reach the same level of revelation as my first visit, it's still a strong offering. Despite the slight closeness of some seating and the minor initial delay in ordering on a busy night, the overall experience at Planta Queen is overwhelmingly positive and well worth a visit for anyone seeking a beautiful and delightful culinary escape.

This was probably the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had. The ‘tuna’ was insane. The fried mushroom was also nice, and the broccoli I didn’t think was as amazing as the reviews make it out to be. The dessert though was terrible. We had the cookie with ice cream and it tasted like it had just been put in the microwave to heat up. It came out warm, not hot, and became rock hard within one minute. Also the cookie recipe wasn’t even that great. I would only come for the sushi.

I am vegan and went to this restaurant just last night with my husband and two other friends. Maybe I had too high of expectations but I wasn’t too impressed with their food (our waiter was wonderful but my cocktail was “forgotten”). The decor seemed nice in a dimly lit and large place which was almost full on a Tuesday at 6:30pm. The noise level was so high my ears hurt, and I had to scream to have conversations with our friends. Maybe this is the way many New York City restaurants are (I am visiting). So the food. I personally had a hard time finding things that were either not deep-fried or smothered in spicy mayonnaise. I loved the Nigiri eel sushi made of grilled eggplant topped with sweet eel sauce. I also liked my virgin cocktail. The Caesar salad was too salty which was too bad (it could have been great with less salty dressing or just less dressing). Banana Caramel Pie was a bit disappointing as the cake which was the base of the pie was dry and hard in texture. It is great to see a vegan restaurant do well but when I pay $150 for two of us I expect better food. Maybe that’s what New York restaurants charge nowadays.

Grabbed dinner with a couple friends last week at Planta Queen. Wanted a place with plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. We enjoyed the meal and had a big selection of the share plates. The table next to us had a beautiful spread of sushi rolls, so we ordered a couple as well. Volcano roll was disappointing, but overall the meal was really fun and creative. We enjoyed the bao buns, bang bang broccoli, and tater tots. Staff was friendly and efficient. Lettuce wraps were recommended, and flavor was peppery with a great cook on the ingredients! I think the lettuce wrap though would have needed a few condiments to pull it together. Highly recommend this place for lots of great vegan and vegetarian options!

Great restaurant. Fully vegan. I got the firecracker roll, the 1000 layer potato and the ahi watermelon. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the potato. The roll was so good. It’s just insane cramped inside. Gotta be careful to not knock anyone’s table over when maneuvering

A good spot for vegan sushi in NYC, especially if you want to lean towards less processed fish alternatives and more fruit/vegetable swap-ins. The host staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had luggage with us as this was our last stop before the airport, and they were able to set it aside in a separate area for us and accommodate our booking earlier than the original time. Food-wise we went for: -Unagi Eggplant Nigiri -Bang Bang Broccoli -Spicy Tuna Maki Roll -Volcano Maki Roll -Banana Pudding All of them were tasty, although we found the portions to be a little small for the prices paid. The wait staff seemed a bit stretched – the restaurant staff refill your glass if you opt for tap water rather than provide you with your own filled bottle to pour yourself, and we found ourselves waiting for long periods between emptying the glass and receiving a refill. There were also much longer periods than we had gotten used to in NYC between finishing and being able to request dessert or the bill, and when I requested a paper receipt this appeared to have been forgotten and I had to make a second request for it to be fulfilled. The wait staff were clearly very friendly and knowledgeable, so I imagine they may have had fewer staff than usual for the demand at that time and as such were a bit run off their feet and unable to visit tables as much as they would like. Still, we can only review the experience we had, not one we imagine you would have – for all we know this could be a regular occurrence. All in all, our visit was still a positive experience and we would recommend it if you're craving sushi but want to err on the side of a less processed meal.

We had a quick lunch. The food was great, flavorful and quick served (although we were dining at low traffic hours). We took everything our serving recommended and it all was great picks. The broccoli and fried rice were recommended and were good.

Everything was great overall and it honestly didn’t even feel like a vegan restaurant. Our favorite dish was the bang bang cauliflower. The kimchi bao bun was good, but it didn’t really taste like kimchi and lacked any Korean flavor. The dragon roll wasn’t our favorite, while the sweet potato sushi was surprisingly delicious and tasted very similar to regular sushi rolls. The watermelon sushi was interesting, but the slices were too thin and it would’ve been better without the ginger on top and with a thicker piece of watermelon. The truffle mushroom udon was okay, and the service was excellent. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the experience.

We arrived here on the time for our reservation , the receptionist kept asking us to stand near the bar area even when we saw so many tables empty. We checked on her twice and both the times she asked us to stand near the bar, and it felt like she doesn't like us and wants us to leave. When we asked her if there is anything wrong she then started saying that the table is not ready and thus wants us to stand there and kept saying sorry every time. It just felt very absurd to us; if that was the case, she could've politely mentioned the same. She didn't have to say anything else, we could've waited quietly near the bar or entrance area. After seating our server who served us was really nice to talk to and spoke with us really well. We tried their bang bang broccoli and it was heavenly. We also ordered their 1000 layer potatoes but we felt something was missing and was probably a little too hyped. We also tried their Dan dan noodles with tofu, the tofu was sooooo tasty and soft but the noodles lacked that punch, after adding soy sauce it tasted good , but just wished the noodles came in all tasty already. We were full but wanted to try their matcha cheesecake after reading all the reviews, and I am really happy we tried it coz I am amazed with how delicious any vegan dessert can taste. It came with cherry compote, this compote could have cut the sweetness but being tangy but it was also sweet. If they just make this compote a little less sweet then this dish with be perfect 10/10. All in all nice place leaving just the receptionist experience. We will certainly come back here to try other dishes, hopefully our experience at the reception would be nice next time🤞

Have been here many times and felt the time had come for a cumulative review. The all vegan menu is great for vegans and vegetarians but as neither of those it took a few visits for me to explore the full menu and come up with a comprehensive review for the non veg diner. The vegans will absolutely love this place as it easily ranks in the top decile of vegan offerings. Inventive flavorful dishes which don’t insult those who have always been vegan or vegetarian. For the non veg visiting the faux meat in the form of various incarnations mimic the texture and flavor of what we love most in Asian food without making us think we’re settling. The “beef” and broccoli the spicy “tuna” the dan dan noodles have consistently been my favorite dishes offering everything their fully non veg versions provide. For those that have always been vegetarian I can attest to the fact that if you’ve had the watermelon tuna you are getting a very good reproduction of real tuna. I prefer the sushi offerings to the rest of the menu because I really can’t tell it’s vegan in most cases. The Dan Dan noodles are fantastic and though the wheat berries don’t taste like pork I actually quite like them as a substitute. The seitan beef in the beef and broccoli is great in texture and flavor. I thought the dumplings needed more umami in the filling and the generals cauliflower underwhelmed but frankly that’s because any dish with the word generals in it has a huge amount of anticipation and expectation built into it so it was going to have to be amazing to come close to all the versions I’ve had in chinatowns in Boston, San Francisco and NYC…maybe call it admirals or emperors. Just a thought. Overall though the vegetarians in the group love the options and the all vegan menu and the non veg love it too. The inventive drinks evoked flavors of India and Thailand which we loved. The desserts were great as well especially the matcha cake. The starters and big dishes though are what brings us back and what we crave. We’ve come back more than a dozen times so clearly we are fans and we encourage veg and non veg folks to rush there. As a non veg I would like more experimentation and a couple more dishes. A great beef lo mein, a ground chicken spicy basil, a Thai coconut curry. But then I’ll be coming weekly.

Decent vegan good. Been here a couple times before and it doesn’t disappoint. We got a bunch of items to share. The truffle fried rice was not as flavorful as I remember, unfortunately. But absolutely worth getting the Torched and Pressed, and Bang Bang Broccoli! Can’t go wrong with Singapore noodles either.

Full review: Torched and pressed- by far my favorite 10/10, balanced and super good Spicy tuna- very good, a bit fishy 8.5/10 Bang bang brocolli- amazingly crispy but I didnt like the sauce at all(gingery and I’m not a big ginger fan)- 7/10 Udon- this surpised me. I could smell that it was a coconut based cream sauce immediatly which I usually don’t like but it was actually really nice. There was some random bites which tasted of ginger which didn’t mesh well. 8/10 Korean baos- good texture of fried mushrooms but dont like kimchi much 7/10 The two of us were still hungry after this so ordered more. Portobello nigiri- didn’t like this, bland and subtlety not good 4/10 Spicy crab hand roll- meh 5.5/10 Overall this place was really fun to try a bunch of different flavors/textures. DO NOT sit downstairs after 7. It was insanely dark and I could barely see my food. Made it much less satisfying/enjoyable. Pro is the food comes out super fast. But overall just good, not great. Which for the price it should be.

An overall decent experience at this vegan eatery! Checking out the reviews for recommended dishes definitely enhanced the visit. Personally, the bang bang broccoli stole the show with a solid 9/10, while the kimchi rice was a decent 7/10. However, the Singapore noodles didn't quite hit the mark at 3/10. The ambiance is delightful. I'd strongly advise booking a table ahead, especially for weekend visits to ensure a seamless experience. Adding pictures for better insights:

The food tastes like sysco bar food. You're going to wait around awkwardly reservation or not. There's barely any reception in the basement for the "pay by qr code" system, which wants a surcharge for the honor of making service faster. You got to be kidding.

Planta is one of my favorite restaurants in the city I’ve been here over 30 times, the manager has actually come up to me during one of my times here and mentioned it before (which is the only reason I know that). Unfortunately, the last time I went, which was for Yom Kippur I went with my cousin to break fast after a full 24 hours of fasting to my favorite restaurant. It took them over 30 minutes to get anyone to even look in our direction, finally the manager asked if we had been served yet, we said no, and he took our orders. We kept flagging him down to take our drink orders etc. he didn’t realize (and nor did anyone else) that actually we had not been assigned a server all night. Not once did a waiter come to our table. I told the manager who comped 1 dessert , but after a 120$ meal it just didn’t feel sufficient. Plus, I still felt like I had to tip because the waitress finally came over with the bill at the end with the machine with the tip options. But who am I tipping ? I didn’t have any service all night. ( Of course I still tipped) I have been trying to get in touch with them via email since then (it’s been over a month) with no luck, so now I’ve resorted to a review. I’m willing to edit this if anyone is willing to call me still.

The food was good but pricey. I guess typical NYC prices but still. I tipped $9USD & the waiter didn’t seem very happy, no “good bye”or “have a nice day” he was completely mute after I paid. Very strange. I’m sorry but I think $9 was a very reasonable tip. Our total came to 53.46 ($73CAD) and we weren’t even full. It’d be nice if the waiters don’t take these things personally and be nice about it. We were on a budget but we want to support vegan restaurants whenever possible.

I had been looking forward to trying Planta Queen, but unfortunately, it felt a bit overrated—or maybe I just had high expectations based on the glowing reviews. While the food was decent, it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. We started with the Bao Sliders, which had a decent taste but didn’t seem to use any mock meat for replication. The portion size was also disappointing—we only got one small sliders, which felt underwhelming for the price. The Spicy Salmon Hand Roll was just one piece, and while I appreciate the effort in crafting a plant-based version, the taste was just average. On the other hand, the Crispy Rice Roll was quite nice, and the Truffled Mushroom Fried Rice was flavorful and well-prepared. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Chocolate Brownie, which was really good—rich, indulgent, and a satisfying way to end the meal. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations, especially given the portion sizes and some of the flavors. It’s a nice spot for plant-based dining, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit.

Not sure what the point of having 1 piece per serving is, but found that a little steep - think it was the hand rolls (not pictured), so keep that in mind! Ordered starters for the most part and was disappointed with the volcano roll - it tasted extremely fishy and as someone who hates seafood, just one bite gave me quite the ick and I did not feel like eating any more of it. I just don’t understand why most vegan fare is curated to mimic seafood/meat? Why can’t it just taste like vegetables lol? A lot of people are vegan by birth or vegan just because they don’t like how meat tastes/smells and this doesn’t help. The edamame dumplings were flavorful thought I wish they had like a mushroom-based option as well. Thai rolls (not pictured) were good, especially the peanut sauce!Loveddd the berry compote on the matcha cheesecake! Service was pretty good though our server came across as a little reserved!

Tartare and bao was good, sushi rice was way too wet and mushy, but what was truly awful was the deep fried (!) jackfruit dumplings and bang bang broccoli. The fried dumplings were not like gyozas, there were deep fat fried and was so heavy my partner and I only ate 5 out of the 10 they gave us. And the sauce that came with the dumplings was a barbeque sauce, which felt like I was at a McDonald's dunking my nuggets in BBQ sauce. The bang bang broccoli was also very fried and smothered in overly sweet sauce. I think the food is more American style Asian food and so it didn't fit my palate. I.e. some food were heavy and fried. So I share some blame for deciding to get those dishes. The environment was very loud due to low ceiling and loud music. You really have to yell at each other to be heard. Lastly, we were sat at a table right under the AC vent. It was blowing cold air straight down at us the whole dinner time. I asked the waitress if they could turn down the AC, and she said "I'll ask" but nothing happened and she didn't back to me. I was freezing the whole meal! Overall, we spent $130 for 2 people, with 5 dishes of tiny portions. Super not worth and would not come back again. I'm so mad at myself for spending so much money on such a poor experience. Update: restaurant reached out and took more comments. They showed willingness to listen, so props to them for that!

The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the service. All the staff were super nice and very attentive and I appreciate that. But the food... lucky I even rate that 2 stars. Considering dinner cost over $200, I would have expected some high quality food. The bao buns were the absolute worst ones that I have ever tasted, the dessert was basically supermarket quality, with the cheesecake lacking any softeness to it and the ramen and udon noodles was surprisingly flavorless. I usually like to give a place more than one try, but given the price for two, I am not coming back. The sushi and mocktails were the better part of the meal, but most of the food left me unimpressed. Possibly the worst part of Valentine's day in the city. Updated: They reached put to talk about my visit and when I responded, they never got back to me. Not a serious business and took away another star for their poor customer service.

This review is for takeout service. I have dined in at the Bethesda location and had such a fantastic experience that I was excited to try the NYC location. I placed an order for takeout and was very disappointed when I got home to see that the menu photo is so different from the reality of what I actually received. See photos for reference. This is sad and pitiful and a horrible misrepresentation. Pretty deceitful, actually. Maybe dining in is a better experience but this is a sucky takeout order, especially given how excited I was after such a great first experience. Order to go with caution.

We loved the Planta branch in Chicago and had a great meal there. Because of that positive experience, we decided to visit the Manhattan location the following week. The Manhattan branch was a major disappointment. It felt like this restaurant lacks management that prioritizes customers and food quality. We expected at least similar experience. We had a reservation but still waited 20 minutes to be seated. The service flow was confusing, with dishes being served in an order that made no sense, completely different from the perfect organization we experienced in Chicago. Compounding this, the servers were inattentive; we constantly had to look for them and work hard just to get attention, again, the opposite of the Chicago branch. The taste of the same dishes was notably inferior here. We even had to send one sushi dish back to the kitchen, which was a clear lapse in quality control. The server saw the dish and understood she shouldn't have severed it. So why did she? The new dish was better but still not at the level we expected. In summary, the Chicago location is excellent and highly recommended. Based on our experience, I would suggest avoiding the Manhattan branch.

When I first starting coming to PLANTA I was obsessed and couldn’t get enough. It was good quality, creative and clean. However my most recent visit to planta was entirely disappointing. The price for the quality is no longer worth it. The nearly $20 sushi roll was poorly made and many pieces of sushi lacked the ingredients inside. It was sloppy work. For the price the quality of the food has significantly degraded. I’m really disappointed this used to be a go to anytime I was eating in the city

What I’ll say is that the salad was honestly really good. I enjoyed it. BUT (and a big but) the proportion was extremely small for the price point. The container was smaller than my iPhone and it costed me $27.05…….😳😭☠️ The restaurant is very pretty, the staff was very kind, the salad was delicious. But for crying out loud….. please at least give reasonable portions for that price. This is advertised as an entree, not a side. Really not cool. I’m still hungry lol. (The drink was not included btw I just included for size reference but bought at a bodega)

We went for the menu on Valentine’s Day and had a 7:45 pm reservation. We walked in and they said they were running behind 20 minutes. We waited for 50 minutes and they took us to the basement area to eat which was 90 degrees. We nicely asked if we could sit upstairs because it was too hot and we already waited an hour past our reservation. The “manager” told us the best they could do was to seat us at the corner in the basement bar which had more air flow. Honestly it was just straight up an embarrassment. He said he would make it up to me but he never ever came back to check on us. The food portions were soooo small for $68 per person which i know is cheap for more restaurants in the city. They delivered the beef and broccoli which was like a soup. When we asked for rice to eat it with they charged $5 which was annoying. Also the servers were up by the bar and relentlessly only talked about how they don’t want any more customers and were counting down the table covers. Honestly the vibe just wasn’t good. When I asked for a water refill I felt they were inconvenienced. Ever since they filed for chapter 11 and PE got involved this place is a sinking ship where they pack people in like sardines with smaller and smaller portions. As someone who has probably been to Planta over ten times I was horrified.

I think I can make better Asian food than the folks here. The food was below average and the service sub par - the server seemed to struggle to smile / talk / make eye contact or just ask if we were done before swooping in to take away our plates. Don’t let the appearance of the food deceive you.
