Hummus Republic

Shout out to Hummus Republic! The guys working there were so nice, and all I can say is YUM!! I got a bowl (so much food!!), and I was amazed at how affordable it was. Im really looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu. Also, they have a falafel burgers (for those of us that desperately miss the one at scolari's). Definitely give them a try!

The store manager Andy(?) is incredibly friendly and I got awesome service from her. Not the mention the food is wonderful. My personal favorite is the Harissa hummus - definitely try it out with some pita chips!

This is our third time visiting this Hummus Republic in Alameda. Staff is super friendly and helpful with the ordering process. I had the pita with Moroccan steak, spinach, tzatziki and traditional hummus, topped with diced cucumber, olives and feta. A splash of olive oil and lemon on top and my pita order was so delicious and packed with flavor. I highly recommend!

We ordered the chicken shawarma and lemon chicken bowls, pita chips, sweet potato fries, lemonade, and a Tahini shake. The bowl was magnificent! Perfect combination of flavors with the hummus and protein mixture. The lemonades were all delicious. I made sure to sample them all and none of them let me down. The pomegranate was my favorite. The Tahini shake was awesome. The puréed dates are the perfect size to compliment the shake’s after taste in my mouth. Would recommend 10/10! Cannot wait to come back!

Absolutely loved the falafel bowl, with a huge portion size. Would highly recommend their grandma’s sauce to top it up, very flavourful, lightly spiced, perfect to balance the hummus and falafel. The falafel burger with sweet potato fries was equally underwhelming. The burger was tasteless and dry with falafel as the patty and just ketchup. Would have been so much nicer with hummus or any other sauces on top. The fries were hard and chewy, definitely seemed refried and not fresh. The strawberry lychee cooler was deliciously soothing, not too sweet, just perfect. The baklava was too soggy and sweet. Not terrible but also not great. Overall, the bowls are a safe bet which will not disappoint

This place is like the Chipotle of Vegan food; It's great! I really like it! However, their prices are bit high for all vegan ingredients when I can get a vegan meal from Chipotle, a few blocks up the street at the shopping center, for $2-3 less. I hope this place can scale and do well. Do try it out!

Also had sweet potato fries which were just OK and not hot. Came in just before 7:10pm (closes at 7:30pm) which seems like it closes on the early side. Staff were friendly and helpful but definitely got the vibe they wanted us out and they said we couldn’t stay and eat (we planned to do take out regardless).

They work extremely slow, and whenever I come for pick up (online order) most of the time they don’t even start order, they make you wait like 10-15 min for something which is easy to make. 3 people are working and non of them ask do you need any help. Sometimes you gotta call someone from kitchen 😥. They need to be more organized.

I wasn’t terribly pleased with the food at all. The service is slow, the workers take their time, and the quality of food isn’t good. Hummus wasn’t good and didn’t taste like the real, middle eastern, Arab hummus. Don’t go here it’s empty for a reason.

Ordered a falafel bowl for take out and when I got home realized they somehow forgot the falafel. So a $20 bowl of kale. Disappointing…
