While in the area enjoying the local options we found thos gem for supper. Gluten free options were amazing. More than just a salad or meat patty! I was excited to see GF chicken tenders, as well as the dish I ordered GF chicken parm. Our derver was aware of GF practices and made me feel comfortable. It was delicious. We got there on a Friday after 7pm and had no wait for the table. Food served hot and amazing. Live music was really great! Only grow idea is with GF pasta perhaps take a gf bun to make garlic bread with because that was my only longing with my pasta. The portion was great for 2 meals for both of us with our pastas.
Overall, we had a very nice dining experience here for dinner on a Saturday night. Got there around 6pm, place wasn’t too busy by 8pm every table and booth was full. Our server was super nice and attentive until he got swamped. Poor guy had so many tables in his section- I think they were understaffed for the night, but it’s the week between Christmas and NYE so it’s probably hard to anticipate the numbers. Pizza was excellent! We got the Docs special, sauce is tasty and ingredients are cooked under the cheese. Also tried the Greek salad for $14.95 which was big enough for 4 of us to split as a starter. They have lots of TVs with sports games on and the atmosphere isn’t too loud for a bar/restaurant. Overall good experience and food. Service could be a bit better!
I was craving for alfredo and this hit the spot! And the fried mushrooms was a plus! The minestrone soup was a bit salty though. Bread was tasty. Thanks for cooking such a tasty dinner!
After only coming to this location for lunch,we decided to go on a Saturday night. We were immediately greeted by a hostess and seating in the bar area. Not too noisy and we were able to watch the football game on the nany TV's located thruout. We looked at their Saturday specials and commented that they had domestic beers and White Claws for only 4.00. We figured why not so we ordered a few..you have to ask tho for a glass. Since I knew their pizza was amazing I ordered a medium sausage pizza (22.00) and my wife ordered the gluten free chicken parmesan that came with a side garden salad(14.00) Our food arrived very quickly and the Chicken Parm was huge in portion. You get 2 grilled chicken breasts on top of a huge bowl of pasta. They use the same sweet red sauce as they do on the pizza. Both the pizza and Chicken Parm were very good. We ended up bringing about half of the Pizza and Parm home. When the waitress brought the bill I questioned why we were being charged 5.00 and not 4.00 for the drinks as listed on their "Specials" menu and she wasn't sure but it was probably tax. I knew this was incorrect. She walked away and we both thought she would correct it only to bring the bill back with the same price and said "Have a nice night." Unfortunately the difference ,even tho not a lot was taken out of her tip. I feel the servers should know their Daily Specials. We will be back since the pizza is so good and not many restaurants actually have Gluten Free entrees printed on their everyday menu.
First time at this Niles location, but been to many other D'Ag locations in the last! Had Bosco Sticks plenty of times in the high school cafeteria, so either they switched up the recipe or D'Ags just does it differently and they're plenty delicious. Comes with a side of marinara which I'd say is pretty much their homemade pizza sauce. Picture added here. Also pictured here is a personal-sized (10") pizza. The crust and sauce is incomparable to none, of course. Their tomato sauce has a nice sweet taste to it. I did a Pizza Diet back in 2012, eating different pizza each day, and didn't think of D'Ags but now something to consider if I'm in the mood for pizza!
1st time here, the wife and I both got a burger and it was delicious. Next time we will order the Pizza. Came back to try the pizza and some more burgers, All were great once again
This is a fairly new restaurant, with construction beginning soon AFTER March 2020, but the owners forged ahead. The neighborhood appears appreciative since they seem to get a good amount of business. I've tried many different dishes here, gotten takeout, dined in, indoors and on their patio. My experience has always been above average, with some better than others. What is consistent is that the staff is well-trained, dedicated and cares if you are enjoying your experience dining with them. Their burger is pretty good, their salads are above average, their kids menu is spot-on, I really like their Italian beef sandwich, but the best meal I had here so far was the pesto salmon with grilled vegetables and a baked potato. Of course their pizza is a whole 'nother story because that is what they're known for, really. I've actually only gotten their cheese thin crust (because: kids) but it's always been enjoyable. They have tons of specials throughout the week for their pizza though, not to mention special events for TV sports (there are plenty of TVs around the bar and the dining area), and holidays, plus their party room in the lower level, although people have parties on the outdoor patio too, which has space heaters and they put up plexiglass in winter, plus I heard they have heat under the concrete but I'm not sure about that. This is a great, family-friendly restaurant with a wide variety of menu items. It won't be a high-class, gourmet experience, but it will be very satisfying and fun. I wish the patio had somewhat better furniture, but they've made improvements even in the past year, and it's better. I am sure the weather limits what they can have out there.
Pizza was perfect! Always has been my favorite. For 30+ years. Today did not disappoint. Neither did our server Bill. He was great and Dag’s is lucky to have him.
Absolutely love Dags and the new Niles location is probably the best branch they have! So much seating for large parties. Awesome AV and sound. And quite nice guest WiFi which is super fast. Food is just as tasty as the other locations. But my gosh the large parking lot blows the old Park Ridge location out of the water. Love love love the new branch and will be going back with friends and the GF!!
Thin crust made with the wheat of dreams— hints of amaranth and butterscotch, French bread yeast and a soupson of irish butter. Hearty Mozz, dense, creamy and thick, with a fennel sausage, and a mysterious authentic oregano from a daydream in Provence. Wow.
The ONLY heated outdoor winter dining in the north burbs! Open the front 1/2 door for air flow! The ceiling heaters keep you warm as toast! We have family members that still can't dine indoors. We have searched for every covered heated patio in the Chicago area. This one is the best! It's covered, open air for safe air flow, but has the best overhead heaters anywhere! I can't believe they don't promote it! No photos or mention of it on their website. We were there last night AND the night before for a birthday and watched the baseball game on the outdoor huge screen TV. $6 drink specials! The $10 fried cod special was great! We loved the eggplant parmesan. Yummy pizza! The service was spot on! The furniture is all new and the patio is beautiful. Feels like you are on a patio at a high-end Resort. It was in the low 40s and we were warm enough to take our coats off. The food is reasonably priced and this patio is definitely the best kept secret in the North suburbs! Can't wait to go back.
I was visiting my parents from out of town and they suggested we order pizza the night of my arrival. As a previous resident and hoping to make a visit to the Wrigley location, I was worried where they were planning to order from. However, much to my delight, I was informed of the Niles location. I got my fix right away and every bite lived up to my memory. My only complaint was that they were basically out of t-shirts, as I really wanted to go home with some merch! Already missing the food...
We had a party of 9 with out of town guests called and made a reservation. The young that took care of us did a great job. The thin crust was very good and the bosco sticks were just as good. Had a great time and definitely will be back.
I love their salad. The mozz sticks are a usual for my group. This location is really cute and has friendly staff. Also they have delivery, which is great.
Upon my return to the city of my origin story, I hit up D'Augustino's which was right across my hotel (Springhill Marriot). I could sell this pizza by the bite back in NC, where they don't have real legit pizza. Even by Chi standards this their pizza's tastiness factor is up there. Also, their online ordering system is tight and cuts through the line. I took 3 medium thin crusts back home and through a 1.5 hr flight and it still tasted no less delicious the next day.
I was there for a party. The food is always amazing, there's no question about that. The service was slightly lacking because they were very busy and didn't seem to have enough employees working. I only took one star off for customer service because that's mostly management's fault, not the employees. Also I understand that it's difficult to keep employees in the service business lately & restaurants are often lacking in that area. Otherwise everything was great!
We go here for the pizza but all the food is amazing. Finally decided to try one of their espresso martinis but we use tequila OMG
Marilda is an amazing manager and waitress. She always makes you feel welcome and takes extra time for special orders. Great menu and great specials.
D'Agostinos is one of my absolute favorite pizza spots in Chicago. It's super thin, and the flavors just hit. I've only ever gotten pizza, so Im not sure how the other food is, but every time I go, tables are full of people eating other things that look and smell great. Service is always good, too. The workers are happy to be there and it shows.
Sports bar feel but good food and fantastic service from Esmeralda!
I’ve eaten here in person, but pick up more often than anything. The food is prepared for my scheduled pick up time so it’s always fresh and hot, and the hand off is quick and friendly. I loved being close to Dags on Addison, and love this one just as much now that I’m in the suburbs.
We come with our Chicago family every time we visit. In Thursdays the girls still enjoy The Balloon Lady Laurie who makes the most fun animals ever on Thursdays (just a tip for her in thanks). Pizzas are a marvel and everything else is fabulous. Sunday nights there are specials and worth the trip just for that. Nice spacious rooms and fast efficient service. Outdoor seating g on lovely nights or if inside gets full. Good parking. Give it a try
It’s a great, family-friendly place, and also perfect if you just want to hang out with friends and have a drink. The food was great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everything was clean. I’ll definitely be coming back with my family. I’ve both dined in and ordered takeout, and the wait time was reasonable—not long or ridiculous like other places.
We just had my son's 1st bday party in the first floor party room today. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Miralda was wonderful with the planning part. For day of party, Berto and service was outstanding. Food was delicious and hot. Drinks came out fast. We did the party package with wings, salad, meatball sandwiches and pizza and everyone loved the food. It was such a wonderful time. Will definitely be back for future parties.
I’m not much of a party planner, so when I wanted to plan a surprise party for my mom’s 80th birthday…I needed help. Tony to the rescue! He was so helpful, patient, knowledgeable, honest, and just nice! He really helped me with all of the details, and was so great and attentive during the entire party. The space was great, the food was awesome, and the service was amazing. Thank you, Tony.
Just had my son’s first birthday and I couldn’t be happier with the food and service. Marilda was literally there for us every step of the way. Between food, drinks, setting up/cleaning up and my million questions, she didn’t skip a beat. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. We are very happy and extremely grateful!
Food is always great pizza is always good never and issues recently tried their wings and the best wings I have ever had the stuff is always great good people they love to interact with their customers no matter how busy they are
This place feels like Home. So warm and friendly. Roberto the manager was very attentive just a really nice guy who cares to make sure you're ok and without the pressure !!! From the second you walk into the door as Roberto is on it as multi tasks between the customers. Over the top service... here is Sophia very friendly and knows her menue even upsidedown, very on top of it !! Great smiles from the staff and nice people here. Nachos...yummy. pizza like no other. I totally recommend niles d agostinos not only for the piizza but for the big salads. But theres more. Ok i just had to put this review in as i never do so you know its a winner.
I've been to this particular D'Agostino's a few times now and each time I've been here I've enjoyed myself. They have an impressively expansive menu and offer what feels like just about everything. I've had their bone in chicken wings each time because they're large and meaty. No flour breading on these, just crispy skin and meat straight from the deep fryer. We tried the mild buffalo today and it was a buttery buffalo sauce without much of a kick. Just one time I'd like to order these with a flavor I want and not one my spice intolerant family can handle. The wings are served with celery sticks and ranch. They have daily specials and on Sundays that includes a small selection of $6 appetizers. We tried the breaded cheese ravioli and these were delicious. They came served with a marinara dipping sauce, but never needed it. The ricotta cheese filling had a bold taste that was well received by us. Even though we didn't order it today, we have had their thin crust pizza (with shrimp) in the past and I remember it being solidly above average. I also believe pizza goes on special one day a week as well. There's about 8 slot machines by the bar and an outside patio here as well. I included a short video of the gender signage by the bathrooms that I found humorous.
We were in the are at a wrestling tournament at the local high school and we decided to find a local pizza restaurant. Food was very good, but service was slow. Not sure if they are short on staff levels but the place was not very busy, maybe 5 tables being served but it took a while to receive our appetizers, refills and main course. Regardless, we would definitely visit again for the thin and very delicious pizzzzzza.
Great tavern style pizza, good beer selection and a $5 special on bloody Marys on Sunday. Love this pizzeria.
Great pizza and food. The service was a little off at some times but overall great pizza place and bar. Plenty of TVs to watch sporting events.
I thought the pizza wa AMAZING my server was a very kind and to the point man, but my order was wrong. Anyways pizza still great but unfortunately the number of couples in the establishment reminded me how single I am. But would return shoutout the dogs.
Missing tavern style pizza, properly cut in squares. The old neighborhood spot went out of biz years ago but this was pretty good. A free order of wings was a plus.
The food is good and comes quickly. The only downside is we went at 11:30am and it was not busy yet nobody checked on us after serving us and we left the money on the counter and left because nobody was around. I expect someone to come around to see how food is and if we need another drink but we didn’t get that.
Good pizzas, nice service. Of course ordering again.
This place is what you call "mid" at best. Nothing stands out, but yet it's not bad either. I recommend going on Wednesday because you get 50% off on pizza, this is the only way it's worth it at all. Plus, if you go early, you can get a discount on the appetizer as a happy hour deal, so then it's really worth it. The ambiance is nice, parking is not bad, good service, they just need to up their game on flavor and taste.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy the salmon. But my eggplant parmesan was tough and bitter. I've had eggplant at most all in the area, this was the worse. The waitrer was mumbles when it came to talking. Not attentive at all. My husband can go back ,he grew up on them. I sure won't
The food was delicious, my compliments to the chef!!! The lady doing balloon hats was Amazing! However... Nine people from a convention met for dinner. The hostess was ridiculous. We asked to sit outside as it was nice. She sat us inside around the corner. When we said we wanted to be outside she replied, "Well, you are close to mbv outside." and walked away. The waitress was smart in remembering orders but bad at waiting on us. She brought water pitchers and glasses. She then took the empty pitchers and did not return them filled. People asked for drinks that never came but which were rung in. We someone mentioned they were to be with another on a check, we were then told that we were all on the same check and they could only split it evenly between cards. That is unacceptable since I did not order her calamari or the others beer! After much denial and annoyance, the manager in charge finally figured out how to take it apart and make it right! What they wanted was to add a big gratuity!! I love paying 20% tips IF the wait staff Actually WAITS on me. I should not be left thirsty.
Wouldn't recommend this pizza joint. At least for the deep dish. The pizza was still luke-warm in the middle as if it was sitting out before being given. Also the crust is odd, it's almost as if it's from a pastry can instead of being made fresh. The sausage had a couple bites of tough tendons, but it tasted good overall. We ate here due to the walking distance to the hotel. But definitely take the Uber a few more miles out to get some better pizza. There’s a lot of choices, just not near here.
Had something missing from my order. Called them and it was reduced from my bill. Then as I was checking my receipt, I noticed the chicken strips were $19.90. On the website it is listed at $11.95. On the website it also says that it is updated prices.when I called, they told me that the price was $19.90. That is outrageous for chicken strips with nothing else added to the order. No fries, nothing! Last time I go there!
Thin sausage pizza was pretty bland. Overpriced, too. No greeter present. And bartender overcharged me. Watch your bills closely! Needless to say I won't be returning.
This is the second time in back. The first time I was here I ordered two slices of pizza well done. I waited 45 mins for them and they were beyond well done. They were burnt. I couldn’t even chew the food. I’m here now and I’ve been waiting for over 25 mins for one slice of cheese. The cashier shouldn’t be the one having to run food and take orders. It doesn’t make sense. Then when I wanted to order a pizza I had to wait to order because the waitress was literally ignoring me/running around being food and my slice don’t matter. The slice got here at 7:15PM. I put the order in at 6:51PM. Let’s see how long my pizza takes. The staff here was a lil ride to as I asked another waitress to take my order but she like said hold on and sent the first waitress back. Get it together and more organized in there. I think I seen a minor behind the bar. Felt like I got over charged. Said Large pizza for $22 with a free drink. I tried to order it wouldn’t let me online. Ordered the medium 14” with one topping with no drink.
Here are my problems with this place: 1 - Ordered meatball sandwich with cheese and hot peppers on a garlic bread. Sounds yummy, right? It was the worst thing I have ever tasted. Meatballs tasted disgusting, bead was burnt and they forgot to add the hot peppers. I literally couldn't stomach more than 2 bites. 2 - Cashier claimed their credit card system was down for few days now so he has to write down my card info by hand on a piece of paper to run it later...seriously? Haven't these people heard of a plan B called "Square"? Or at least a manual credit card imprinter? How unprofessional?! Might not been cashier's fault, but 100% management fault! It was my first time trying this place and it's definitely my last.
Suuuuuuuper slow service. Three different waiters coming to take the order. After 10 minutes server is bringing dirty cutlery and and drinks in hand !?! This Catastrophe of lacking management or understaffed is absolutely not typical for this Bar but I don’t know what is going on. I won’t stop by here in a while… 👇🏼
WATCH YOUR BILL!!! Unfortunately this place consistently overcharges you. I've been here many times and the bill is never right. First few times times they said it was a computer error. I went one last time hoping they corrected the overcharging problem, but nope. Again, the bill was higher than stated menu prices. But what they told me this time was unbelievable! The server pointed to super tiny, fine print on the bottom of the menu..."prices subject to change"! Which basically means they can charge you anything they want now, no matter what's printed on the menu!! This was the last straw for us. This place is obviously way too determined to screw their customers everytime for a few more bucks padded on top of the bill. I've had many other friends that said they will never come back because they were constantly overcharged as well. What a horrible way to run a business, lose customers, and ruin a reputation.
Open til 11 pm but they won’t let us in at 10 pm what a trash establishment
We’ve been going to this place for nearly a year but I don’t know what happened this last time we went. Bad service & bad food. We arrived at around 4pm on a Saturday evening and we were the only ones in the restaurant section. The place was empty yet no one waited on us for a good 10 to 15 minutes. Almost walked out! Finally someone came but didn’t bring any plates, napkins or silverware with him. I had to ask for these things and he was like…oh yea, I forgot. Duh!??? Our cokes tasted water downed and the ketchup bottle on our table was empty. We ordered sandwiches and fries and our sandwiches should have come on toasted bread but they put them in a panini machine and made our sandwiches flat like pancakes!! Not what we ordered at all. The waiter said they only had white bread which wasn’t true. They have dark rye bread for Reuben sandwiches yet we were told they only have white. The tomatoes on our sandwiches looked anemic; definitely old! I couldn’t even eat them. Then the bill came and we were charged $44 for a terrible meal! I complained and they knocked off $7. I didn’t leave a tip because of the poor service and food. If we ever go back again it will only be on Wednesday night for a pizza. We usually have a waiter named Junior who is excellent but this other guy was no good. Big disappointment this time so will only go back for a pizza. What really made me mad was when I complained about everything being so bad and the waiter took the bill and walked away throwing his hands up in the air!!! What a jerk! Bad service & bad food and he’s the one who’s angry!!! Bad customer service!
Ordered a Italian beef sandwich with hot and sweet peppers baptised. I immediately notice almost no beef on the sandwich. Also it was smothered with the peppers. My sister, a 23 year Sports Bar Owner immediately pointed out that they used over cooked beef from bottom of the pan. Most likley days old based on the gruel like texture. I also could not help notice that at lunch time myself my sister and only one other person was in the restaurant that's built to hold many more! Thats not a good sign in the restaurant industry. The bars tender was average the inside of the restaurant looked good. My experience was overall junk for the money spent. Would never go back or recommend this place.
This location is getting worse and worse with getting orders delivered correctly. Every time I order, something doesn’t come. Very disappointing! In a hurry to take orders but no one checks for accuracy when getting orders bagged for delivery. This is the last time I will order from this restaurant. Called to report missing food I paid for and not even a sorry… Another ruined dinner!
