They truly exceeded my expectations. A hidden gem and I’m so glad we tried it out. Seemed to be only one guy there the day we went so we were patient but it was worth it. The potions were pretty good and the service and food were top notch. It was so good we went back another day in our short trip. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Me and my spouse can’t wait to be back in the city because we will definitely be back!
Truly phenomenal food!!! Although food presentation is very good here, the pictures don't do it justice! Excellent food at some of the best fine-dining caliber of cooking. Very skilled chef in the kitchen of this restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant leaves a little to be desired, but due to the variety of the menu (with each item being crafted with attention to detail), the dining experience here is charming and worthwhile despite its environment. Price is slightly above average, but inexpensive in comparison to a serious fine dining restaurant in the US. Genuinely, this was the most mouth-watering, flavor-chocked burger I've had in years. Great value for sheer deliciousness and variety of food. Would love to bring friends here or to come on a cute date night!
Calamari was amazing. The sauce that goes with it was unexpected and perfect. The jalapeños with the Calamari were so tasty! Mongolian beef was delicious and the grilled chicken Alfredo was just as good.
This is truly a hidden gem. The food is well prepared and well-seasoned. The owner/chef is knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to make substitutions. The smashed burger is my absolute favorite. Order the steak and you also won’t be disappointed. Everything is made to order and from scratch. Don’t let the eclectic menu scare you, this place is the real deal.
I got the chance to place and pick up a carry order from Otis. This was my first time getting food from here. The food was promptly made. I must say that the flatbread was really good and very well seasoned. I was surprised by the style of the chicken wings. I didn’t think it would be a whole wing. For what I order I thought it would be a bit cheaper.
The chicken alfredo is the best I've ever had. My wife loved their beef and broccoli. The place seems to be family run and the service was excellent.
I freaking love the food. The food is amazing, fresh, organic, and it’s made with love. I’ve been a regular since they opened in January of this year. I really loved his wok Asian cravings. He told me to expand my horizon and try the other menu items. After expanding my horizon I’m glad I listened to the chef. He’s phenomenal and I’ve tried the entire menu and there are no skips. EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS PHENOMENAL. Everything is a 10 out of 10. If you haven’t had Otis @12 then you’re missing out. I eat here every single week. And I will continue to spend my money here because the food is that delicious. Great vibes, positive energy, great atmosphere, and delicious food. I’m so glad his restaurant is in my neighborhood. This is the best Salmon I’ve ever had. Everything I tried was good and made ready to order. It isn’t super fast because of that so don’t come here expecting to eat and leave in 15 min. Great spot for a date night or order to go and eat at home. Amazing food, I will be coming back.
The food here is amazing! There is great variety on the menu. I’ve tried several of the wok items-all excellent. I’ve had the chicken piccata-very good. Tonight I had a salad with salmon, which was delicious. The service is good and workers are friendly. Otis @ 12 is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and my husband & I hope Brooklanders will come out and support this restaurant.
I used to work across the street from Otis Restaurant, and from my very first visit, I fell in love with their delicious food and exceptional customer service. The dishes are always mouthwatering, and the staff is extremely friendly, making every visit a pleasure. Be sure to check out this picture of their fantastic English breakfast—it's a must-try! 🙌
I love Otis.@12. It’s a new Brookland quality family spot and I highly recommend it. The menu is unusually eclectic — take a tour of Italy, America, and the far East. You’ll enjoy every stop. It is actually the best Asian food in the neighborhood now, since BangPop moved on. We love their Asian menu and order that often. Prices are relatively high but the portions are enormous and more than make up for it. The black bean chicken, for instance, is over twenty dollars but easily feeds both me and my husband for dinner, with some left over. The owner is a great guy, very professional, and very present. You can tell he puts a lot of effort and love into this establishment. Don’t be turned away by the… somewhat bewildering name (why not Otis Cafe at 12th?? One might ask), or the simple ambience. It’s a quality place and worth patronizing. Love you Otis.@12!
Food was DELICIOUS!!Came here for dinner. Got the orange chicken and my husband got beef with broccoli. Both were very fresh, generous portions, and came out quickly. Glad to have this spot in the neighborhood. Will be back!
Love this place! Good food (I’ve had breakfast and lunch here so far and I really liked the Kung Pao Chicken), comfortable neighborhood atmosphere (good for families and meeting people), and really good and friendly service. Looking forward to making this a regular spot!
I recently had the opportunity to eat here, a place that has just opened its doors and already promises to be a favorite among lovers of good food. From the first moment, I was surprised by the excellent service: the staff is attentive, friendly and makes you feel at home. The food with its flavors that stand out for its freshness and seasoning. If you decide to visit it, you can't stop trying the squid; they are perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and with a touch of flavor that makes them irresistible. I definitely recommend this place to enjoy a pleasant culinary experience. Don't miss it!

We ordered the french dip sandwich, beef and broccoli, and the bread pudding. Everything was really tasty! They still have some things to iron out in the front of house (food came out a bit slow and ordering over the phone was a bit clunky), but I have no doubt they’ll figure that stuff out. The food is really good. Try them out!
Giving a very honest review…. Customer service was very pleasant ordered Orange chicken, which is $18.99 with tax over 21.00. It tasted all right but for the money honestly, it was the same taste flavor and texture as Jerry’s right around the corner for 12.99
Rode by a few times, but was apprehensive because I never smelled food from the outside. Usually that’s the test, if I can smell the food from the outside you have good food. I decided to give it a try. When I walked in, I was greeted as I grabbed for a menu. It smelled like waffles, I was told that the last person ordered chicken and waffles. With the aroma filling the air, I decided to copy and try the chicken and waffles (which I was told were chicken tenders and a Belgian waffle). About 15 to 20 minutes later, my food was ready. There’s so much potential for them it’s crazy, but hopefully they’ll get it right. The syrup was already poured on the waffle with strawberries and banana bananas cut up over it. The chicken tenders, not the waffle had the powdered sugar on it. My food was placed in a bag and I went on my way. Got to my destination and it’s time to eat… The chicken tenders must’ve been fried in old grease and tasted just like old burnt grease, not edible as you see the food that was left not eaten. Because the syrup had already been put on my waffle, the waffle had absorbed it. All that was left was a dry waffle and old burnt tasting chicken tenders, which equals a waste of money. If they can tighten up, there’s definite potential but new or old establishment, never fry food in burnt old oil!
I haven't eaten here myself, I've only gotten food for others, but they all have the same problem; 'Why did I pay so much for so little?'. The food isn't terrible tasting, but the portions for price leave much to be desired. You are better off going to Brookland Grill or Maury & Paul's, lower prices and larger portions. Also does not open when advertised, they say they open @ 7 am (may have been changed).
Don’t waste your time trying to give your money to this business. They just are never open, seems like it must be a money laundering scheme or something? I live a block away and I’ve tried to go in dozens of times, but it’s just always closed! Their hours say they opened at 3pm today, it’s 5:47pm and the lights are off. It’s dinner time, why would a restaurant not be open?
I was very disappointed by what I witnessed during my visit. An employee treated someone rudely just because they used the restroom. If the restroom is not meant for customers, the restaurant should make that clear by keeping it locked or requiring a code. "I had a bad experience at this store. The person who attended me was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. It seemed like he doesn’t enjoy his job and takes it out on the customers. With customer service like that, it’s no surprise the place is often empty. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the service."
We were excited to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood, but Otis at 12th has struck out with us. The first time we went, our food took over an hour to prepare. Several customers ordered and were served before our takeout order was ready. The second time, they included chicken in my partner’s vegetable lo mein. This morning, bacon was included in the breakfast burrito after our order specified no meat. When I picked up the order, I confirmed with staff that meat was excluded. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was way too salty to finish. So, vegans, vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions, beware… Otis @ 12 is not safe to eat at. Again, we had high hopes but they cannot be trusted.
