Excellent food and service. If you want a 3lb steak and some great dessert this is the place to go.

The tomahawk steak changed my life.

The signature Tomahawk Steak was cooked to perfection!! We had enough steak leftover to have a quick picnic lunch at the park on our way back to New Hampshire. Just as delicious cold as it was hot!

We went to Sloan’s first on our honeymoon and now take the kids. The food is good especially for the price, the drinks are ample (also very well priced) and the service has always been outstanding. Dinner is always perfectly paced, it comes with complementary rolls, and most entrees come with salad. They check in frequently and never leave you waiting for a refill. Tonight’s waitress was Erica. She was amazing as is every wait person we’ve ever had.

Great place for a group - with a little bit of everything on the menu and a nice clean but inviting dining room. Came with a large party (~10 of us) called a couple days ahead, and they were able to accommodate us. Busy with a wait when we arrived, glad we had reservations. Servers were attentive to our needs. Nice variety of beers and cocktails on their drink menu. Daily specials and menu were tasty typical pub fare that was fairly priced. Would definitely recommend.

10oz NY strip and Shrimp Scampi was soooo good!! We felt warm and welcome from start to finish:) I would highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t yet, easily the best spot in town!

It was my first visit, my son attends Oneonta college and we picked him up for a dinner out. I had the Utica Chicken. It was absolutely delicious. I want to make a trip back there so I can have the chicken again, because now I’m craving it. Our waitress was excellent and I wish I remembered her name but she was so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy.

While visiting upper state New York we were trying to find a nice steakhouse that was casual and had good food. Sloan's definitely fit the steaks. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked. I recommend 100%.

A GEM of a restaurant in Oneonta! An incredible experience top to bottom. Albert the server was friendly, professional, & eager to make our stay there the best it could be (and was)… Caryn the GM was terrific and soooo nice. This was a fabulous meal!! They were very busy, but we still only waited a few minutes to be seated. The staff was very nice, the food was fabulous, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. The wood fired steak was amazing and the seasonal veggies were great! They even had French onion butter that day for the bread. We would 100 percent go again! Highly recommend 👌

We placed a catering order from Sloan's and everything was perfect. The food was organized, hot, and perfectly cooked. No tough chicken to be found! We found it to be a great value for our money.

Stopped by around 1:00 and had plenty of seats available. Service was fast and friendly. Everything but the floor under our table was very clean. The food was delicious. I had a Reuben and my wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger on toasted gluten free bun. We asked for a little bit more toasting on the bun. The bun had been cut by us, so they gladly prepared a completely new sandwich.

We had the 20oz t-bone and the 20oz ribeye both were amazing, they were cooked to perfection. The service was amazing we will definitely be back.

Great food and service the place is definitely a Hallmark and characteristic of the town in which it is located a steak was perfectly prepared medium rare all the dishes are excellently made and you could tell they have a chef calling the shots and it's not a place for Cooks this is an Exquisite Down Home Restaurant I recommend everyone visiting when you go to Oneonta New York

Headed to Oneonta to check out a vehicle and on the way we drove past Sloan's New York Grill...it looked intriguing so we came back for lunch... The building is a repurposed ponderosa from the look and the owners did an amazing job reconfiguring and making it feel like a much more comfortable atmosphere...rich wood...a nice sized bar...tables galore and a fireplace head the interior along with a folk art painting on a dining room wall... We ordered a chicken sandwich...a bacon onion burger with their own #10 sauce and a burger topped with pulled pork and cole slaw... The chicken sandwich was cook to perfection...lettuce...tomato...pickles and onion as toppings on a grilled roll with fries...delicious...the burgers at a half pound...on a grilled roll as well with lettuce...tomato...pickles...onions and a side choice...we picked fries and a side salad...both again cooked to perfection...tasty All of our food was fresh...substantial...cooked to perfection...delicious and Jillian...our server...was attentive but not overbearing... Three entree's with drinks came to just over $37...reasonable and well worth the price... From the look...atmosphere...service...freshly cooked farm fare...this place is well worth the trip...we will be back...

Went there today for lunch this time…. Wings, ribs, soups, desserts- All was great! Helps when you have a great server which was Juli - Outgoing and on top of things. All again was good, but was craving wings and WOW, on point!! Very good wings! Would definitely be back. Had steaks there there before, were also great.

This place is a great steak destination. It was so good I forgot to take pics! I dove right in. The Ribeye cooked Black & Blue was perfect. The T Bone special my buddy had was just a good. Big and thick. The sides...veggies mix was fresh and plentiful. House salads...great. Very large assortment of beer...craft, micro and nano brewery offerings. Look at my pics. Tastefully decorated and large assortment of desserts. Check this place out...well worth the visit!

I have to give a shout out to my waiter with Albert Quick,He was pleasant,and on top off bringing food out on time and hot I will different go to Sloans again,even tho it was an 1 1/2 hr away I will go again

I've lived in the area since this place opened many years ago. I have never been until recently and I regret waiting all this time. I'm not big on steak but they have other things to satisfy ones hunger. I opted for a bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos. They weren't the hottest peppers ever (I like heat) but they were fresh and yummy. The whole burger was 👌. I was told they have a garden onsite and the peppers may have been grown there. They also do different butter spreads daily. We happened to go on Honey Sriracha day. That was so yummy. The wait staff is wonderful. Drinks were refilled instantly, dirty plates we gathered promptly as well. At the end the chocolate cream pie was amazing. Definitely plan to go back again soon.

The customer service here is top notch! We visited a few months ago with friends—one of whom has severe Celiac disease—and the staff went above and beyond to double-check every ingredient and ensure his meal was safely prepared. It really stood out how seriously they took his dietary needs. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon, which was absolutely delicious, and their cocktails have a generous pour - I recommend Caryn's Cosmo! The burgers are also solid and consistently good. While I'm a bit particular about steak texture and found theirs looked a little fatty for my taste, our friends really enjoyed them. The crowd tends to skew older, but don’t let that deter you—this place is absolutely worth a visit for the food and the fantastic service! This spot is pretty popular, so I recommend making reservations for your party.

Honestly, we’ve had a lot of trouble finding good food in this area. This place is seriously great! It’s a beautiful building with a really cozy fireplace. The waitress was really friendly and the food was exceptional. We had the burgers and they were juicy with an amazing smoky flavor. We will definitely be back.

Invited my family to lunch and went to Sloans. Great atmosphere, service and food. Our server Albert was right up on explaining the specials and checking back with us to see if we needed anything. The entire staff is very friendly and family oriented. Sloans is deffinatly my choice for all friend and family get togethers.

Texas burgers cooked perfectly with onion rings on the side We also got the coconut cream pie and apple pie to go….. both also amazing Our server Albert was EXTREMELY helpful and ATTENTIVE … he answered all of our questions and was very PERSONABLE…. This is a must stop!!! The ribeye and brisket were absolutely delicious. The brisket hushpuppies were a pleasent surprise. All the dressings and sauces are made in house and are super flavorful. But be sure to leave room for desserts! Coconut cream pie, carrot cake, chocolate mousse, and cheery cheese cake! If you don't have a reservation there will be a wait but sooooo worth it.

I was in the mood for a steak. This place was recommended by a family member. I had the 48oz Tomahawk. It was probably the best steak I have have out. It was cooked perfect. I would put it up against any steakhouse in NYC. Great job. I will be back.

Next course was there as we were finishing the previous one. Perfect timing. Restroom was clean and well stocked with TP and paper towels. Man ow man a delicious food. The wings r amazing. Just the right hint of spice and sweet. The spice just touches your tongue won't burn or leave after burn. The soup was another treat. Ham, pineapple and what ever else made my tongue dance. I like the different breads they bring to the table.

Would recommend and return to this establishment. Great place for a night out with family or friends. On this occasion, saw plenty on the steak and burger menu and all was wonderful. Presentation and taste are an A rating. All in the party enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. There is a large craft beer menu if this is your fancy. The employees were friendly and what a nice atmosphere. Steak house decor with a nice fireplace to sit and warm yourself by. Worth a stop and a definite return.

The service is consistently warm and inviting. The staff there is always willing to go the extra bit to make your dining experience a good one. It is a really nice steakhouse. The specials are always interesting and various. It can get a bit loud depending on when you go. The weekends there are always busy but if you are by yourself or with one or two others the wait is not that bad. For larger parties expect a longer wait time. It has a full bar and a fireplace. Over the last two years I have been up and down the eastern side of Texas. They have some ridiculously good steakhouses owned by independent/mom and pop places. I have a love of the tomahawk steak. I have had them marinated in different sauces and rubs. Depending on the place they have been as large as a person's head. This steakhouse touts a 3 pound tomahawk steak. It is a $49.00 steak by no means is that over the top or bargain barrel price. It is properly priced for the amount of meat you are getting. People always want the best cut of meat for the Wal-Mart price. Problem is when eating that quality meat you are getting exactly what you pay for. You are eating tough gross meat that isn't even close to good. This steak is grilled on a wood fire grill. It adds a wonderful taste and texture to the meat. The steak I had tonight put many of the steaks I had in Texas to shame. I spent double the price on some of them and wasn't nearly as impressed as I was with this one. The meat was buttery and sweet. There was good marble to it. The experience was one I will not soon forget.

The food is good, but I would recommend going after 4:00 pm when the dinner menu begins. There is a much better selection with larger portions. The service is excellent and very friendly. I do recommend this place.

We've been coming here sporadically since they opened, and I have to say they are continuing to improve across the boards! Their new Smoked Wings are a huge hit for both of us, and the new Brisket is near perfection (needs a southern/spicy bbq sauce), but delectably juicy and tender!!

One of the better meals we had on our trip. Found this place after making a wrong turn and a very nice surprise. The keesh was well done and the grilled chicken was very good. The desserts looked amazing but the meal was enough. Oh also excellent onion rings.

This was our first visit and we will for sure be back again when we find ourselves in Oneonta. We had to order the chocolate cream pie of course and it was decadent. For dinner we had one of the steak specials and a chicken dish with veggies and amazing sauce. A great place for very well made comfort foods that offer variety and seasoning!

From NYC and came here for a birthday dinner as we were staying locally to get to Cooperstown to check out the hall of fame. Food: Reminded me of something you'd get at a place similar to a Chili's or Friday's. Steak was good for what it was. Nothing spectacular but still good. The wings we ordered as an app, not really that good. The wings were kind of dry. We also tried the brisket hush puppies. Those were different and we would recommend people give 'em a try. Chocolate cake though was delicious. TBH probably one of the best cakes I've ever had. Better than anywhere I've had in NYC, SF, Chicago, LA, Miami, Toronto, etc. Meaning better than any major city I've lived / been to. Service: Excellent! Nothing left to say here. Just great service. Drinks: Wife ordered something off their drink menu. She loved it.

Staff are generally amazing. Biggest frustration is that every salad I get has rotten tomatoes. The salad is amazing and would be better if the tomatoes were good.

Food was okay, they had some interesting choices on the menu. I had a turkey Reuben that was a little soggy, but the wings were phenomenal. Actual location is really nice, clean and wide open space with a very woodsy theme. Server didn't real seem to want much to do with us, or have the patience for any of our questions. Bad days happen though, not the end of the world. Not a bad place. But not remarkable either.

Food was amazing service was ok. Would still recommend this place all day long. And whoever thought about frying salt taters, is a genius.

I was excited because of all the amazing reviews, but honestly I was a bit disappointed. I love broccoli chedder soup, but the soup here was only okay. The broccoli seemed like it was old or something because it tasted a little weird. Our other appetizer was good though. Considering the prices of the appetizers I don't think it was worth it. My boyfriend got a sandwich which was good especially for the price, but my main dish was the deal breaker. The piece of fish was TINY and shriveled up (as you can see from the photos) and it was mostly just fried breading that I was eating, barely any actual meat. There was also no flavor on the fish, but the onion rings were okay. May go back to try the steaks, but other then that I don't think I'm going to try anything else.

The food was great. The only problem was the waitress. Maybe she was just very busy. Our drinks were empty most of the time and we never had bread brought to the table. Luckily a guy that cleans the tables noticed us and came by twice to refill our drinks.

Not bad, not great. Most of our food was cooked to perfection, but those of us who ordered steaks were left wanting. The seafood definitely stole the show but as it's billed as a steakhouse, we were expecting our steaks to be cooked a little more as expected and frankly be of higher quality. That's said, the service was great and atmosphere was as expected. For Oneonta, it's a good bet.

The food was outstanding but it took an hour and a half before we were served. The waitress addressed us explaining why we were delayed. However, the entire restaurant was served cleaned up and gone before we even received our meals. When we were leaving the manager was conducting a staff meeting. . The manager never looked up never apologized no interaction at all.

Ordered burger, medium. Outside was black , showing burnt surface from wood burning grill, due to incorrect grilling method. Sent it back, very disappointed…, no replacement or compensation was given other than an apology .

Had a party of 12. Service was decent until it came time for the check. Waitress would not split the check for our individual groups. Something that could have made this experience 4 stars took them to 2. Will not be back.

Service was fine, but the steaks that we ordered were a big disappointment, bland and dry. For a place known for steak, I expected something much better.

Experimented with the smothered prime rib. Horrific. Meat was dry and gray. Opposite of how prime rib is supposed to be prepared. Also very thin, maybe 8 ounces at best. I asked for the smothering to not occur but was told it's how it's prepared. $35 was one of the worst meals I've had. Wings were great tho. Never again

At first the experience was very nice. Everyone was welcoming and they seated us on time with our reservation. The waiter was very pleasant and took our drink order quickly even though the restaurant was quite busy. However, everything went downhill rather quickly when the food arrived. Out of the 6 meals we ordered, 2 of them had to be sent back for being well undercooked. One meal was a simply hamburger ordered at medium temperature but arrived on the very rare side and the second was a sirloin ordered at medium rare but arriving with a cold, raw center. But we understand that oversights can happen and we simply flagged the waiter down who immediately removed the dishes to take them back to the kitchen. Upon their return was when things really went wild. The second time the dishes made their way out to the table both entrees came with brand new sides (fries for the burger and vegetables and potato for the steak), but it was obvious that it was the same exact piece of meat that had already been served. The burger owner had taken a bite or two out of it and it arrived back in the exact same condition, bite out of the bun and all. The steak had been cut down the middle to check the doneness and arrived back in the same two pieces, albeit with slightly more color to the previously rare inside cuts. So very strange that they would replace the sides but not refire the highlights of the dish, but our adventure didn't end there. After taking another bite out of the burger and another cut into the steak, both were found to have been in the exact same level of cook they were initially sent back for (with the sole exception of the steak, which they seemed to sear on the middle cut, but didn't bother to actually cook the rest of the steak). So once again our waiter was flagged down, made his apologies and offered to take the dishes back to the kitchen again. However at this point everyone is pretty well convinced the steakhouse doesn't do beef dishes any more than rare or very rare, so they opted instead for a cup of soup to replace the steak and a chicken sandwich to replace the burger. The soup arrived quickly since all they had to do was scoop it out of the pot, but the sandwich took another 20 minutes to come out. Now I would think that if you had a customer that had to send their meal back twice for the same reason and you've already served the rest of the table, you'd probably move their order to the top of the queue, but I guess that's not how Sloan's does it. So once the chicken arrived everyone else was well finished with their meals and we're all left feeling sorry for the one person at the table who hasn't eaten yet. Then she bites into the sandwich and guess what? Nope it wasn't under cooked as they certainly didn't dare send anything our way that would go back for being underdone this time! So this time they decided to take the alternate approach and cook that sucker until every ounce of juice had completely evaporated from it! That thing was so dry and stringy, she had to ask for a toothpick after two bites of her CHICKEN sandwich! And to wrap up the night, we were so kindly informed by our waiter that he had removed the two items that were sent back (twice) and that we wouldn't have to pay for them. But apparently that's where their customer service ended, because they still charged us for the dry chicken sandwich and the cup of soup which replaced those two meals they couldn't figure out how to cook properly. I should probably also mention that we never once were graced with the presence of a manager or head chef to check on the remainder of the meal or apologize for their lack of competence in the kitchen. This is certainly a restaurant I would only visit when they're no where near their seating capacity as it seems they have no concept of how to operate effectively under pressure.

We heard so many great things about this place. We decided to give it a try on our last day in NY because from what we read and were told it was the best place to eat in the area. Unfortunately that was not the case. The prices for the amount of food is ridiculous. $10 for a small basket of fries with cheese and a few crumbles of bacon. Then the steaks are severely over priced, and very bland. I think my side of fries had more seasoning on them than the steak. I would honestly save my money and go elsewhere, I had multiple steaks on our visit to NY and honestly the Denny's T-bone steak was better than what I received here. * I'm all for supporting local businesses, but seasoning would be great. And our plates were not "licked clean" because I didn't eat all my steak. There was still half of it on the plate. But thank you for reading the reviews. Not many people do!

Utica greens are made with kale or escarole not cabbage or iceberg lettuce real Prosciutto not bacon bits. Brisket was tender with almost no smoke flavor. Pulled pork was dry with a tomato based sauce no bar b q flavor. Will not be back. We’ve had bar b q from the north Adirondacks to deep Tennessee, save your $$ not a smokehouse in any sense of the word.

Tried to go recently and we were seating right by the door and hostess stand. We were then ignored for over 10 minutes. Four different waitresses and the hostess walked past us and no one even stopped to acknowledge us or get drink orders. The hostess seemed surprised that no one came by yet she was standing near our table the entire time. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere

Ordered the 8 oz fillet for $41 and this is what I got. It was the butt of the tenderloin. I asked if I could get a different one they said no. I didn’t eat it and still got charged. Server was nice and still tipped her 40%. Wasn’t her fault her boss didn’t care. According to locals used to be really good and has gotten bad recently.
